The Quotes of The Day

Quote I

‘They’ve been in touch, at least with me and the State Department, to try to expedite things and get a new passport. Keep my fingers crossed and, hopefully, everything will work itself out.’ Donato Frattaroli

Quote II

This is a big day because, as of right now, Fyre Festival 2 tickets are officially on sale. It has been the absolute wildest journey to get here, and it really all started during the seven-month stint in solitary confinement. I wrote out this 50-page plan of how it would take this overall interest and demand in Fyre and how it would take my ability to bring people from around the world together to make the impossible happen." Felon Billy McFarland

Quote III

He said: ‘The weather conditions changed quite quickly whenever we were getting into the water. It wasn’t so bad once you got through the waves.’Phil Harris, a competitor from Co Down,

Quote IV

"Annus is without doubt a dangerous sexual predator and we welcome his conviction and sentencing.
PC Jay Laughton, of the Kirklees District Child Safeguarding Team

Unlike most Hollywood actors/actresses who are on strike. This actress said, The show must go on!

The deadly Hurricane Hillary devastated large parts of Southern California this week – but one adult star thought it was decent enough weather to have sex in.

Despite the storm killing one, flooding huge swathes of land, starting an earthquake and causing untold chaos, Cami Strella was spotted filming an X-rated scene in the full blown downpours.

(A darn fine version!)

You may be receiving a time to "reset". You still are: Tonight's Genius Award Winner.

RACINE — A man who racked up 51 charges in five different cases connected to his proclivity for fleeing from the police was in Racine County Circuit Court on Friday for sentencing.

Cameron Davis, 22, ultimately pleaded guilty to car theft, fleeing/eluding with property damage, resisting arrest, endangering safety, possession of marijuana and felony bail jumping.

The reduced number of charges was the result of a negotiated settlement with the Racine County DA’s Office.

After today, let's relax with Tonight's Peaceful Moment.

71 I was reading an article on superhero movies and the author argued people aren't tired of superhero movies because...look how good the Into the Spiderverse movies are doing.

It occurs to me there are 2 problems with this statement...

1) Into the Spiderverse movies are throwback movies - the basic plot would fit in a movie from 20 years ago. Yes the main hero is...black? Hispanic? Something like that? But...he's not some woke asshole or Captain Karen

2) The Into Spiderverse movies are more "alternate dimension" movies then superhero movies. Yes, it does feature different versions of Spiderman, but the interesting part isn't that its Spiderman - it assumes the audience fully understands the basic story of Spiderman - the focus is on the different spidermen/women themselves.

87 Zerohedge had an interesting article on hidden city ticketing and Skiplagged .

The basic idea is that if you buy a ticket from or to a poorer airport you can often get a cheaper ticket. And the "to" part is the more interesting one. Say you want to fly from LA to NYC. Sometimes you can get a cheaper ticket if you actually book a ticket from LA to say Columbus with a lay over in NYC and then just...not catch that last leg.

Airlines HATE this. And they will cancel tickets and potentially even ban you if you do it. I almost ran into this scenario once by accident just trying to avoid a long layover.

102 Trump's refusal to debate leaves the others to argue among themselves: Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former Vice President Mike Pence, businessman Vivek Ramaswamy, South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson, and former New Jersey Gov Chris Christie.

So the funny thing here is that Pence did have a path to victory in 2024. If he tried to stop the Steal in '20 and the fought for election reform since then he'd be a serious candidate. Of course most of the others have a similiar story - Haley could have stopped them from tearing down statues, Christie could have told Obama off instead of making out with him on that beach and so on...

What do they care?'

Ha! They most certainly cared and wouldn't do it.

234 On Doug Bergum. Don't know if he's best friends with Gates or not, he did come out of Microsoft. And the slam on him about allowing Gates to buy up vast tracts of land in ND, it was 2100 acres. Same with the Chinese land purchase, it was 300 acres. ND has a law from 1932 concerning the sale of farmland, the ND AG reviewed these purchase and allowed them. Ever been to ND, 2400 acres is less then the acreage my neighbors own where they raise cattle. Unless someone has more info tying Bergum to Gates that's not much to disqualify him.

RDS and Vivek were tops from my vantage point.

Pence probably came off good to the evangelical community, but he would be a nightmare candidate for more reasons than policy, he is the mortal enemy of Trumpers.

Asa was there, that's about it. Christie got clowned. Burgum came off as the least offensive.

Tim Scott actually gave some good answers, his MLK cadence on one question was cringe, and the fact that you already know he's a Senate sell-out makes the platitudes meaningless.

Haley tried to play gal-power, bleh. Plus she came off like your drunk ex-wife in the arguments. That could be pleasing, except unlike your drunk ex, you ain't getting laid afterwards. Plus, too neo-con.

Felt numb and tingly and sore most of the day, but actually did better than I thought I could giving a short address at my sis's wedding rehearsal that night. Ah, it was a memorable weekend.

420 Trump was at that debate and won it. Vivek did a fine job representing him. The tactic between DeSantis and Christie(you did see in commercial breaks on livestreams who DeSantis walked over and talked to, that was telling because it was that fat fuck Christie) did not work. Christie was the RNC's attack dog against Trump for DeSantis.
Notice DeSantis didn't say shit about Trump it was all Christie. Could have turned out to be a smart play by DeSantis after shitting the bed last week but Vivek gave DeSantis a How To Win Favor Of Trump/MAGA Voters clinic tonight.

Too late Meatball! It's no wonder Trump had to save your ass the first go around for governor and smart self aware move by cleaning up the voter rolls so you were able to win by 20 points the last time because you are terrible at campaigning.

Ramsalami was a f'ing G baby! Too bad Trump is going to prison and none of these primary candidates have the backing of the RNC with a solid plan to beat the Dem fraud machine. It wasn't going to be done with one man like Trump and it will not be done with your one preferred candidate.

So by all means argue like fools Trump vs DeSantis vs Vivek the joke will be on you.

"I will dispatch every weapon at hand to close our borders, but I will demand Congress to declare war on Mexico before pursuing the elusive cartels across our border."

Thanks for letting me know that you don't know what a declaration of war actually does.

It is a DIPLOMATIC tool, NOT MILITARY. The ONLY thing that will happen is that the Mexican ambassador will be summoned to the Oval Office, where he will be presented a nice, prettily printed sheet of paper with Congress's Declaration of War. Then he will say, "Oh, Senor, I am so crestfallen that things had to turn out this way. I ask for safe passage back to Mexico for myself, my staff and our families." We reply "Yes, that is being arranged, and accordance with the Vienna Convention of 1961, the premises of the Mexican embassy will continue to be protected."

THAT'S IT. What this does for a war on cartels I have no idea.

Posted by: Catch Thirty-Thr33 at August 24, 2023 02:22 AM (f0XAF)

444 By the way, back in 1980 the Peanut administration considered asking Congress to declare war on Iran. Not for any other reason than such a move alters things under the Vienna Convention of 1961. Of course, no one asked themselves how that would change things as clearly Iran uses the Vienna Convention of 1961 to wipe their asses, IF they knew what that was. (Hint: under said convention, the events of 4 November 1979 are kinda frowned upon.)
