Partisan Special Counsel Brings More Charges Against Trump, While the Special Counsel Investigating Joe and Hunter Biden Brings No Charges, Because He Does Not Exist

The Biden Special Prosecutor doesn't exist -- like antifa, he's more just an "idea."

Maybe the non-existent Biden Special Prosecutor can investigate the non-existent terrorist group antifa.

But in the meantime, Trump is not getting the benefit of the Hillary Clinton Standard.

Special Counsel Jack Smith on Thursday brought new charges against former President Donald Trump in the Mar-a-Lago White House documents case.
Smith charged Trump with one count of willful retention of national defense documents and two counts of obstruction.
Trump's valet, Walt Nauta, who was previously charged in the first indictment, also received two new obstruction-related charges.
The superseding indictment also charged Carlos De Oliveira, Mar-a-Lago's head of maintenance, with altering, destroying, mutilating, or concealing a document, making false statements, and conspiracy to obstruct justice.
"The superseding indictment also charges Trump, De Oliveira, and Nauta with two new obstruction counts based on allegations that the defendants attempted to delete surveillance video footage at The Mar-a-Lago Club in summer 2022," a statement from the special counsel's spokesman Peter Carr said.
As CNBC reported:

Trump is also newly accused of retaining a classified document detailing a U.S. military plan of attack on Iran, which Trump showed to a writer, publisher and two staff members at his club in Bedminster, N.J., on July 21, 2021.
At the time, Trump had not been president for five months, and his guests "did not have security clearances" to view the document, according to the superseding indictment in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.

With the additional charges, Trump is now facing 40 counts in the criminal case.

So now comes my least favorite phase of every new Trump indictment, the ranting by Trump's more passionate defenders that Ron DeSantis isn't doing enough to defend the man who slurs him as a pedophile and homosexual!! His statements aren't STRONG enough in swearing for the honor of a man who smears him dishonorably!!! and that Trump's legal problems -- almost all of which are self-inflicted-- are a reason to elect him president to fuck up all over the place some more, rather than a reason to elect a strong president who will pardon Trump and let him live peacefully and free as a private citizen.

Every one of Trump's problems gets weaponized against DeSantis, and then people wonder -- Gee, why aren't DeSantis' supporters more interested in talking about Trump's problems?

Tell you what: If Trump issues a STRONG statement clearing him from the previous lies that DeSantis is a pedophile, gay, cheats on his wife, killed more people with Covid than Democrat governors Newsom or Cuomo, then I'll join you in your calls for STRONG statements clearing Trump of crimes which, let's face it, he probably did commit.

The argument is really about selective prosecution of crimes that The Regime has previously not charged prominent Democrats for, not for Trump's actual innocence.
And as the DOJ was bringing more charges against Trump, it was also dropping all campaign corruption charges against the second-biggest donor to the Democrat Party in 2020.

Where do you know that he "knew" that it wasn't necessary?

1. He wanted the states to open.
2. Various governors talked about how it wasn't safe to open until there was a vaccine.
3. He made sure a vaccine was produced faster than 2+ years.

I never took the Jab, but I can acknowledge simple motivation.

Leaving the Baltimore Orioles aside for the moment, honestly I don't get why people get so enraged about the primary fights. It happens ever single election. I have only seen DeSantis talking about issues. What he would do as President. He has not attacked Trump. When asked tough questions, he actually answers with what he would do.
I want to see them on the debate stage talking about issues and how to address them. Until then I reserve judgment. If Trump refuses to debate, that will be a clear indication that he is just looking for revenge for what is being done to him and not what is in the best iinterest of the country.

Yeah, I don't get the idea that if you own security cameras, you can't wipe the tapes off the security camera and recording equipment YOU own.

Two things I think about reading this.

First, who is telling you the opposition is energized? In the history of elections hate has not generated votes against nearly to the degree of gaining votes due to candidate quality. Until 2020. I'm assuming we are in agreement that the Basement campaign by Biden wasn't what would be described as "high quality". This also corresponds to unregulated mail in voting to a level never before seen.

Second, DeSantis doesn't get the "level" from what I will call the media (including social media) because outside of plugged in to politics folks he's not known that well. Make him the nominee, I'd expect it to change quickly.

I've heard a similar line of thought from other DeSantis supporters. I don't agree but it's fair.

What I don't get is why DeSantis supporters seem to think he would do better. New poll out of Ohio today shows him now in 3rd place behind Trump and Ramaswamy. Since his campaign launch he has not caught fire as predicted and is actually sinking in the polls. I don't get how that means he is a more viable general election candidate when he is failing and galvanizing the base.

I'm a Trump supporter but not as hard core as some. Trump brought a lot of new voters into the mix which always seems to get overlooked and there is no guarantee they are going to flip to DeSantis and no matter who is the nominee the left will do a seek and destroy mission tailored to them.

Most of this is knowing who to delegate to.

Personnel is Trump's biggest weakness, but how many examples of this does it take before we realize it's a fatal flaw of his that will (again) derail him?

He's never going to surround himself "this time" with the right people, if anything, I'd say Trump is getting worse and worse people in his inner circle.

It's a shame Trump hadn't developed a political circle early that had his best interests. But everyone that works for Trump can't seem to wait to stab him in the back.

I don't know exactly the date when I visited the Australian Institute of Virology but it was sometime before the 'vaccine' was released to the public. The same information I found there *may* have been at one time available at USA sites but there was a concerted effort to censor all negative information. Was Trump behind that effort? I'm certain he was not.

Trump must have found some degree of comfort in the reassuring lies from Fauci. But I'm just some not-easily-fooled guy with time on his hands and a deep mistrust of government and media born on decades of negative interaction with them.

Most others can only do so much. DeSantis can really only fight it in FL, Kemp in GA. They can't change stuff outside of their state.

Trump has the money to actually create a countywide push, like Zuck and Soros did for dems, to change elections. The problem is Trump will only do that if it benefits Trump and Trump alone.

We've learned that changing politics basically won't come from politicans. So unless Musk starts spending his money to fix elections, or someone like Larry Ellison (which he won't because it'll hurt his kids Hollywood osplaying) then Democrats won't ever lose, because their billionaires are willing to spend money to gain control, while conservative billionaires have a conservative mindset of "leave everyone alone" which doesn't work when ther otherside is trying to actively destroy the country.

A lot of local vote integrity groups are suing their Secretary of States under the Motor Voter bill provisions to strike off voters that do not exist in that jurisdiction (if they ever did). That is key even to seriously reducing mail vote fraud. If the floater voter is not on the rolls due to being struck as one of 1000 registered voters at a vacant lot, that is key to reduce the fraud's impact.

Ditto for preventing any real time access by third parties to voter history and registration lists to prevent fake voters from being inserted by creating a registration, allowing a ballot to be faked, and then removing the registration.

My point was that it's not revisionist history, it's a thing that happened. That is why true believers or fake believers always shriek about perfection which is impossible in this weary world. It is far easier to criticize from the sidelines, especially if you get financial rewards for it, then to actually achieve policy gains in a government with separated powers. Even Roosevelt started losing with Congress during his latter days in office in WWII because the other branches got tired of his schtick.

I like DeSantis. I just don't believe he'd be any different as president than any other GOP politician. that's because of experience with GOP politicians.

Unfortunately for DeSantis, he comes along at a bad time for GOP politicians among the GOP base. We simply do not trust the regular politician.

Do I wish Trump was more polished and more disciplined? Of Course. Do I like everything Trump says or does - of course not. But, I trust that Trump will not be more of the same old same old GOP nonsense b/c he's proven he won't be. We don't need another GOP president who presides over the consolidation of the gains of the left, while the crimes of the left go un-investigated and un-prosecuted in the name of "decorum" or "norms" or "national unity".

449 DeSantis sank his candidacy the moment he said that Ukraine wasn't a core US interest and then flipped on that the following day when his donors told him different. We're risking a nuclear war fighting a losing proxy war with Russia that's costing us billions of dollars and depleting our own weapons supplies not to mention the humanitarian disaster that war has become. Whatever faults Trump had, he knew when to say no to the deep state.

Unfortunately, this is where we are at. Desantis was the only hope and it appears he is does not have what it takes to overcome Trump. I love Trump but he does not learn or cannot change and he will lose the general no matter who he runs against. The polls are nonsense - he is less liked than he was on election day in 2020. Who has he won over since that time? Assuming the same amount of mail-in ballot fraud, how does that result in a win?

It is bizarre to live in a country where the results of the next presidential election are already determined 1 1/2 years in advance.

Let's make this easy:

Issuing payment to bring an end to a nuisance claim of infidelity (which could not and cannot be proven one way or the other) is obviously not a crime.

Receiving and possessing boxes of official White House documents which - under the Presidential Records Act - was and is Trump's unique right to receive and possess (most especially because as President he was authorized to send those boxes to their new custodial location and status) is also obviously not a crime.

Making a speech on January 6th complaining about an obviously stolen election is also obviously not a crime. (In another post today you yourself pointed out that 1st Amendment is being effectively repealed by the Dems.)

It really does suck that DeSantis is a sucky candidate.
There is something both off and off-putting about his public persona. (Maybe he's a swell guy in his personal life.) He's both tone-deaf and slow-witted when it comes to responding to reporters (non-gotcha) questions on some issues.

How long ago was the video footage? Do you know anything about security cameras and their storage? Most are set to overwrite when it runs out of space. I wouldn't be surprised if this is what happened and it wouldn't be out of character for the commies to claim it was "deleted" on purpose.
