An ONT Can Survive

Once again it's Thursday. Say, boys and girls, who didn't see this happening, huh? Raise your hands, then put them back down you liars.

Two weeks to stop the spread, two decades to live with the fallout.

Is That A Gun In Your Pocket Or Are You Just Glad To See Me?

Woman reportedly performs sex act on gas station robber until cops arrive

The worker then fled to the back office after being punched in the face by the criminal, according to the outlet.
A mystery woman — who is not believed to be an employee — then entered the station through a back door and offered her services.
It was unclear if she decided to perform the sex act out of fear of being assaulted herself, but a police source told local news agency TASR that the woman appeared willing to help stall the burglar, the Sun reported.
A staff member had already called the cops, who arrived to discover the woman and the robber lying naked on the floor, the outlet said, citing local reports.
“In one of the rooms, the officers saw the man receiving sexual services from the young woman,” police spokesman Michael Szeiff told TASR.

Pretty short article, I was hoping for a blow by blow account. What kind of sex act? We're not getting the hole story here. Obviously, this guy's a hardened criminal, he's probably facing some pretty stiff consequences.

Working Woman Cries & Asks Why We Fought For Women To Get Jobs In The First Place — 'I'm So Tired'

“Whoever fought to get women jobs...Why?” the tearful 22-year-old asks in a TikTok video that has been viewed nearly 6 million times. “Why did we do that? I am so tired. I want to just put my feet up.” Tay reveals in the video’s caption that she is clearly at her breaking point, mentally and physically exhausted from work.

Here's a couple of things about the women in the workforce movement that bother me. #1, the “you can have it all” lie. I know of several woman who dearly wanted a future with kids and a spouse, but followed the feminist dogma of putting that off “to get established in their career”. All of them spent so long establishing their career that they missed their opportunity for kids. They are all in the mid to late 40s, childless, and alone. They have great careers though. And cats. Lots of cats.

Second, for a movement that ostensibly exists so that woman would be able to “do whatever they want, without being bound by traditional gender roles”, feminists spend an awful lot of their time berating those woman who chose to get married, have kids and be a stay at home mom. That's what they wanted, why are they being hounded for freely choosing the path that most appealed to them?

Stereotypes

I Asked AI What Europeans Think Americans From Every Single State Look Like

North Carolina is so spot in (at least in the Research Triangle area) that it's scary. Can't argue with Jersey. There's a night and day difference between the Dakotas. Georgia guy is already getting thousands of proposals of marriage, many of them from women. I'd say that the Texas guy is a little fat, but I have no room to speak in that area. Better be a Whataburger he's holding, though. Would have preferred Oklahoma or Wyoming. Interestingly enough, there don't seem to be any black folks in America. How did they do with your state?

Country Boy Can Survive

Jason Aldean And Country Music Are Standing In The Way Of The Left’s Total Cultural Hegemony

Update your playlists accordingly: Jason Aldean is canceled. Following howls of online outrage, CMT has pulled Aldean’s latest video from rotation. The song, “Try That in a Small Town,” was released in May, but the video dropped just days ago. It features Aldean singing in a small-town square at night, American flags in the background, news footage of riots, looting, and violent crime projected onto the county courthouse behind him. A sample lyric:

“Cuss out a cop, spit in his face
Stomp on the flag and light it up
Yeah, ya think you’re tough
Well, try that in a small town
See how far ya make it down the road.”
To a legion of outraged urban critics, Aldean’s song promotes lynching. That’s a heavy charge, but the mob has its evidence: The video was filmed in front of the Maury County courthouse, where a real lynching did take place in 1927. Surely, this is a racist dog whistle! Surely, the choice of location signals Aldean’s longing to return to one of America’s darker chapters when summary justice was dispensed in the streets!
Or – bear with me – maybe Maury County is part of Greater Nashville, and for a video-production crew, it is a short drive from Music Row to a set that offers an authentic small-town aesthetic. You know the left, though. They’ll never attribute to practicality what they are oh-so-certain is better explained by bigotry.

Since the left has launched their attacks, the song has shot up the charts. Best thing that could have happened to Aldean.

SPR

Well, Biden Screwed Us Forever on Another Damn Thing

So. Even if the Biden Cabal were willing to risk sending gas prices back up by pumping more crude into SPR storage (which they aren’t), they’d have to take into account the advanced age of the facilities (which they won’t) and prepare to find replacements (which their Green Nude Eel friends would forbid).

In short, should the geopolitical situation or our domestic oil production suddenly change—either could make us more dependent again on foreign oil—we’d have an SPR cushion no bigger than it was in 1983.
1983, when our oil needs were much smaller and we were still in the process of wisely adding to the SPR instead of stupidly withdrawing from it like our national reserve is the Democrats’ private piggy bank.
Most days, I manage to laugh or at least just shrug at the short-sighted, destructive, vindictive, petty, and ham-fisted preening morons in the Biden White House, but today they have me seething.

A bit north of Columbus, Chase has an almost 2 million sq foot office building. It's so damn big that it has two Starbucks locations in it along with a host of other service providers. Of course, during the fludemic, all workers were changed to WFH. Unlike most users of Class A office space, Chase owns the building outright and therefore just couldn't let the lease lapse and make other arrangements for their employees. Prop taxes per year are somewhere north of $20 million iirc.

Boo freaking hoo.

BUT, saying that his song is pro-lynching is obviously stupid, and few others in Nashville would have had the stones to give the rioters the middle finger like he did. So there it is.

Posted by: Notorious BFD at July 20, 2023 10:22 PM (Xrfse)

Generally the worker is supplied with a laptop, a spare monitor or two, and a fob for matching the secure VPN. Of course that doesn't help if the dimwit decides to leave it running unattended because it is too much trouble to reconnect.

Like one cow orker who wound up with viruses and such she claimed "people in her unit who didn't like her put on her compute when she wasn't watchung" instead of admitting she screwed up and her kids were using it. She transferred to another worksite for a while, but came back and was made a lead worker because she was besties with the ruling clique.

Plus, on weekends and whatever other spare time I could scrape up, I was either the Seneschal or Exchequer for the local SCA group, and about half way to a Laurel for embroidery. One day, I said "This is nuts!" and gave up the SCA.

Yes, in the long run, it was worth it. I have four gainfully employed adult children who will do whatever it takes to not have Mom and Dad move in on them. I had twenty-five years in the bookselling business, eighteen of those owning my own store. I still have the husband, too.

But now I have the one thing I used to pray for: time to myself. That's the one thing I could never get back in those days.

190 For a plane destined to be the mount of America's top two scoring aces, Bong and McGuire, the P-38 arose from an Army Air Corps Circular Proposal in 1935 for an "interceptor" aircraft capable of 360mph at 20,000ft, fight at full throttle for an hour, clear a 50ft obstacle within 2,200ft, have turbo-supercharged engines, and twice the armament of a standard fighter.

What Kelly Johnson and Lockheed designed for the USAAC would become the XP-38 with armament built around a 25mm cannon and four .50cal machine guns.* Projected speed at 20,000ft would be 417mph with a cruise range of 1,386 miles.

*The prototype P-39 would have a 37mm cannon, 2 .50s, and 4 .30s. The Curtis P-36 normally could carry either 2 .50s or 2 .30s.

McGuire bounced several Jap planes on this mission. And committed a rookie mistake that cost him his life. Major McGuire failed to jettison his drop tanks and then tried to dogfight the Japanese. His P-38 stalled out at low altitude and crashed.

Thus ended the race for American's top scoring ace of World War II.

The thing is, we were initially told the point of #TwoWeeks was to give the hospitals time to gear up and gather enough supplies to treat everyone who would be inundating their facilities, once Covid inevitably spread.

But then all of a sudden, it became "two weeks will cause Covid to die out, no make that two months, no make that however long we need it to be."

Where have I heard this before? Oh yeah Frank Herbert published a short story back in 1954 called "The Gone Dogs." A rancher tired of coyotes whipped up something in an alien piece of equipment and did a sloppy job. It not only wiped out the coyotes but every dog on Earth. And humans were asymptomatic disease carriers.

The person prompting it just probably didnt care to refine the imagery of BBQ because it looked bizarre and goofy. He would have had to go back and say "No, look at this pic of ribs and brisket. More like that," several times to get a reasonable approx of a pile of BBQ. Even then I suspect all of the images had a lot of prompting to get the 'final' pics to those levels of exaggeration and grotesquery.

321 I've long used pure skunk oil as a scent cover when hunting.

A felt pad affixed to each boot sole, two drops each of the scent.

And then remove and tie those pads to an upwind tree about 20 yards from your stand or blind.

It works. I've had a full grown bobcat walk within 6 ft. of my blind, never knowing I was there.

There are other tricks involving Chlorophyl laundry soap and native vegetation in a pillowcase in the clothes drier, but that's for another time?

Indeed. The trailer reno was mainly for fetching the brokedown Suburban back from darkest Utah, which task it performed flawlessly. Well, almost. I managed to break the electric harness that plugs into the trailer connector on the tow vehicle, and had to splice that, which I did in the parking lot at O'Reillys in Helena. An hour's delay, little money spent.

362 I have probably related this story here before, when my Dad was growing up his older brother trapped, skinned and boiled many of God's creatures. Aetius just dropping in to note here that the Left are playing the same game with "gays" and "blacks" that they have all along.

30 years ago they supposedly wanted Republicans "out of the bedroom" but meanwhile they were infiltrating every other room in everyone's house.

And it's the same today. They never shut up about Christians "judging" gays and rioters but then you realize that these are the most judgmental assholes on the planet. They judge every single fucking thing you do unless it conforms with their exact impossible standard of living.

But if they keep pointing at gays and blacks long enough they presume (correctly) that no one will notice.
