The IRS Whistleblower Goes Public and Goes On Camera; The IRS Kept Changing the Rules On His Investigation of Hunter Biden -- "Each and Every Time, It Seemed to Always Benefit the Subject [of the Investigation]"

He has not publicly said this concerns Hunter Biden, but sources have confirmed it is about Hunter Biden, and the mobbed-up DoJ and IRS running interference for him.

The 14-year-veteran of the IRS, Gary Shapley, claimed the Justice Department gave special treatment to the investigation in ways he had never witnessed before during an interview with "CBS Evening News" Tuesday.

"There were multiple steps that were slow-walked -- were just completely not done -- at the direction of the Department of Justice," Shapley told CBS News chief investigative correspondent Jim Axelrod in his first public remarks. "When I took control of this particular investigation, I immediately saw deviations from the normal process. It was way outside the norm of what I've experienced in the past."

The IRS investigator -- who was recently removed from the highly sensitive probe in what he believes was an act of retaliation -- is scheduled to testify before the House Ways and Means Committee in a closed-door meeting Friday.

...

Shapley was assigned to supervise the investigation in January 2020 and said over the summer, he grew concerned at how he saw the Justice Department treating the case and certain measures being used to seemingly shield the first son.

"Each and every time, it seemed to always benefit the subject," he said during the CBS News interview. "It just got to that point where that switch was turned on. And I just couldn't silence my conscience anymore."

Shapley had expressed concerns about the case being swept under the rug internally for years before bringing his misgivings to the public.

He said the final straw came following a "charged meeting" with Justice Department officials in October 2022 that ended with him and his team being removed from the investigation after years of work.

"It was my red-line meeting," Shapley told CBS News.

Related: Jim Jordan and Thomas Massie announce investigation into Fifth-Columnist Financial Institution Bank of America, for voluntarily giving up confidential customer records to the FBI so they could match "anyone who bought a hot dog in DC on January 6th" with a list of gun owners.

Just the News:

The lawmakers pointed to the testimony of retired FBI Supervisory Intelligence Analyst George Hill, who said that the bank "with no directive from the FBI, data-mined its customer base. And they data-mined a date range of 5 to 7 January [of 2021] any BOA customer who used a BOA product." Hill further indicated that the bank had looked into its customers who purchased firearms and those who made transactions in Washington, D.C., during the date range.

Hill also indicated that the firearm purchase information had neither a date range nor geographic limit. His former supervisor has corroborated his testimony.

"This information appears to have had no individualized nexus to particularized criminal conduct, but was rather a data dump of BoA customers' transactions over a three-day period," the pair wrote. "This information undoubtedly included private details about BoA customers who had nothing at all to do with the events of January 6."

Some people are going to have to go to prison for this.

End the Fifth Column Financial Institutions.

Yeah, that's the kind of ammo that if you fire it at the back of somebody's head from an elevated position above, will explode the guy's head, as if it was a high velocity 5.56mm round fired from a position directly behind, sending shrapnel upward, as if the round fragmented.

149 Are we a country or a collection of states? I’m afraid there is a consolidation of power in the states. We now have the “free” states and “totalitarian” states. Without some consequential court rulings, this will persist until we have a Democratic Congress that can reestablish our freedoms as Americans. In the meantime, we need to do our best to support oppressed communities and individuals!

I think a Balkanization of the Never-Actually-United States is coming sooner than people realize. Cascadia forever!

More and more Americans are dividing into red and blue states. I live in a red state and it's horrible if you want basic human rights without the state telling you what to do and think. My fear is this division well might be permanent.

We used to be a country until Ronald Reagan, Rush Limbaugh and Fox News came. 😡

Exactly! The damn propaganda was pumped to the clueless. I attribute to Rupert Murdoch much of the downfall of the US.

We're a country when it helps the GOP, and we're a collection of states when it helps the GOP. Democrats get the leftovers.

Fidelity is "private" in the sense of not being on public markets, like the New York Stock Exchange and such.

Vanguard is structured like a credit union, so rather unique and not comparable to public companies(which have traded stock) or private ones(which don't).

Vanguard is mostly known for passive investments (index funds) at very low costs.

In both cases the assets are largely ultimately owned by customers and not the firm.

That was an artifact of a particular carbine. The Fusil or long rifle used gain twist rifling--the original carbines did not. But, during the later stages of WWI and after, Italy converted long rifles by simply chopping the barrels of the long rifles rather than rebarrelling. This mean that the twist rate was a mismatch with the issued ammo resulting in an unstabilized bullet with horrible effects on accuracy. WWII era carbines have no such problem because Italy was caught short in a transition to 7.35 when it occurred and it rebarrelled back to 6.5 Carcano. Some were sent to the Finns to help them against the USSR.

The long rifles with gain twist were even used post WWII by the Italian military in international shooting competitions and they can be as accurate as other WWII era weapons with open sights with the correct .268 bullet diameter and bullet weight for ammo.

I keep saying that Bob O'Donnell prosecution was the prototype. ODonnell was Republican governor of Virginia who had defeated his Democrat opponent by 30 points. He was widely considered to be a possible opponent to run against Obama. A "whistleblower" - the chef in the Governor's mansion - made some allegations. Feds indicted and prosecuted O'Donnell. He took it to the Supreme Court who overturned the prosecution because what he had been convicted of WAS NOT EVEN A CRIME.

Of course, by then it cost him tens of millions in legal fees, his marriage, his political career, and pretty much demolished the Republican party in Virginia.

OK, so if I own stock at Fidelity, is it in my name, or in the "street name" (which I think means their name, but their accounting shows it is owed to me)? If SHTF, it would be best to be in my name. AFAIK, it is usually in the brokerage's name, but I'm not sure.

199 Also re Carcanos, Italy used the existing rifles in 6.5 Carcano until replaced by US aid and Beretta made Garand receivers using US parts for their box magazine variant of the Garand.

Think during the 50's, some US ammo makers made 6.5 Carcano ammo for foreign export and a little bit of domestic consumption but that is from memory. Italy did make 6.5 Carcano post WWII btw for internal consumption for its police and military.

You'd need a lawyer to go through the particulars of what Fidelity has set up. There are differences from firm to firm that have mattered in past bankruptcies such as Lehman Brothers.

The highest level of security from custodian bankruptcy afaik is a "Separately Managed Account", which is only used by the wealthy and institutions.

In terms of conversations about "institutional ownership", that's stuff owned through index or mutual funds.
