Tucker Carlson: If You Tell Too Many Truths, You Get Fired.
So I'm Bringing My Old Show to a Platform That Allows Free Speech, Twitter.
Jack Posobiec: Tucker's Firing Was a Condition of the Dominon Settlement?!?!

Looks like Tucker Carlson and Elon Musk have worked out some kind of exclusive deal for Tucker Carlson's show. Video below the fold.

But meanwhile: Carlson accuses Fox of breach of contract and fraud.

Tucker Carlson, two weeks after being ousted by Fox News, accused the network Tuesday of fraud and breach of contract -- and made a host of document demands that could precede legal action.

Why it matters: The aggressive letter from his lawyers to Fox positions Carlson to argue that the noncompete provision in his contract is no longer valid -- freeing him to launch his own competing show or media enterprise.

On Tuesday, Carlson announced he would be bringing his show to Twitter,.
"Starting soon we'll be bringing a new version of the show we've been doing for the last six and a half years to Twitter," he said in the video. "We bring some other things too, which we'll tell you about. But for now we're just grateful to be here. Free speech is the main right that you have. Without it, you have no others."

The intrigue: The Twitter move would seem to technically violate Carlson's contract with Fox, but his lawyers' letter effectively holds that Fox breached the contract first.

I don't know if this will breach his contract. Tucker has always had the right to post on social media as he chooses. He'll just be posting a bit more on social media than he used to.

Fox may have a contract for his exclusive television rights but they don't own his rights to just speak generally.

I don't think there'll be money involved. Because taking money would almost certainly breach Tucker's contract. Then Fox could sue him and attempt to get a court to force him to stay off the air.

Rather, I think Tucker will be doing this show for free. At least for now.

Why?

To put pressure on Fox. To let them know he'll compete against them, even if he's not getting paid any money to do it. To let them know that this isn't 2003 any more -- keeping someone off of television doesn't keep them from speaking and mounting a show to compete with you.

So they might as well free him from his contract.

I imagine his Twitter show will therefore play at... 8pm. With a possible "rebroadcast" at 11pm, to also hurt Fox's West Coast time zone ratings.

Update: Tucker is giving up the $25 million he's still owed on his contract, claims Puck.

If so, I guess this is a breach -- though a case of breaching second -- and I guess he will be free to make money from subscriptions and ads.

NEWS: Tucker Carlson will relaunch his show *on Twitter* with help from former Fox News staff. He will forgo at least $25 million owed to him by Fox Corp. in order to break non-compete clause.

More from Rebel News, thanks to andycanuck. That article has a transcript of his Twitter announcement.

After pointing out that there are "limits" to what truths you can say -- and that some truths will result in your being fired -- Tucker has this to say about the fake debate we see on cable news:

"You often hear people say the news is full of lies. But most of the time that's not exactly right. Much of what you see on television or read in the New York Times is in fact true in the literal sense. It could pass one of the media's own 'fact checks.' Lawyers would be willing to sign off on it, in fact they may have. But that doesn't make it true. It's not true. At the most basic level the news you consume is a lie. A lie of the stealthiest and most insidious kind," Carlson began.

"Facts have been withheld on purpose along with proportion and perspective. You are being manipulated," he continued, before explaining how lies are told through omission.

"You can't have a free society if people aren't allowed to say what they think is true," said Carlson. "Speech is the fundamental prerequisite for democracy."

...

"You see it on cable news, you talk about it on Twitter. The result may feel like a debate but actually the gatekeepers are still in charge. We think that's a bad system. We know exactly how it works and we're sick of it," he added.

"Starting soon we will be bringing a new version of the show we've been doing for the last six and a half years to Twitter," Carlson announced. "We'll be bringing some other things too, which we'll tell you about. But for now we're just grateful to be here."

"Free speech is the main right that you have. Without it, you have no others," he concluded. "See you soon."

If this is true -- whoa.

Why should Dominion care if a guy who did not make allegations against Dominion is employed or not?

Hey, Fox is already paying him plenty, so no need to get paid for the doing the new show.

The ratings are costing Fox far more financially than any form of emotional relief. Plus, the Carlson family is very well off. They can afford to ride this out for quite a while.

97 Texas House committee advances bill to raise age for AR-15 rifle purchases

In an unexpected move following the rally and press conference, a meeting for the committee was announced from the House floor Monday. During the meeting, the committee voted 8-5 to advance HB 2744 to the full chamber, with Republican state Reps. Sam Harless of Spring and Justin Holland of Rockwall joining the Democrats in the vote.

HB 2744, filed by Democratic Rep. Tracy King of Batesville, would prohibit selling, renting, leasing or giving a semi-automatic rifle with a caliber greater than .22 that is capable of accepting a detachable magazine to a person younger than 21 years old. Parents and relatives of children killed in the Uvalde shooting, as well as King, have said the shooting may have been thwarted had the bill been law last year. A recent University of Texas at Austin survey found a sizable majority of Texas voters - including Republicans -support raising the minimum age to buy all guns from 18 to 21.

The hero didn't murder them technically, but they didn't care if someone fell into the gears of their own giant machine either.

115 "If You Tell Too Many Truths, You Get Fired."

Absolutely true in corporate media.

None of the dirt FOX (and Murdoch Empire) is spreading about Carlson had ANY weight before. They didn't care. He was bringing in viewers. He was maintaining FOX's audience across multiple platforms, nevermind nothing he said was untrue or unfair or unreasonable.

Problem was his voice was getting too big. AND he was getting power as a voice multiplier against the interests of "ownership". Their producers couldn't/wouldn't restrain his independent journalism and neither could management. He'd gone rogue.

How can corporate propaganda move with a rogue as the biggest voice in your media company? It can't. Well, not as well. So FOX endeavors/ed to suppress his message without admitting to the audience, "Yeah, we really don't do journalism here; we do propaganda." That kind of admission would destroy its very public purpose as defined by them. So it's a seek and destroy mission by the Corporation to find a strand of spaghetti they hope will stick and separate TuCa from his audience.

It won't work. So, thank you, Karma.

Posted by: blaster at May 09, 2023 05:51 PM (pwExq)

This very well could reconfigure how information and opinion are delivered; cable already was going away although to what was uncertain, and the original legacy media is in full freefall. Twitter really has been useless in many if not most ways, but such a high profile figure migrating to it to showcase content at least has tremendous potential. Musk certainly stands to benefit, so this may be a win-win.

Of course, the police state apparatus will work non-stop to shut this down and very well may do it. Bear in mind many of Carlson's primary enemies--the ADL in particular--act as a semi-gatekeepers. And there is in fact pending legislation to regulate internet "disninformation," i.e., what the State opposes.

169 Larry Fink at BlackRock is the scariest and most powerful of the oligarchs. What, you thought Obama was the man behind the curtain? Obama's an empty suit, a front man at best. Fink, often called the King of Wall Street, is the real deal. Aside from occasional mention in business journals or the occasional softball interview, you'll hardly ever see his name mentioned, and that's the way he likes it. Fink's the one who devised and implemented the DEI corporate scoring system. What a high DEI score means is that you have Larry Fink's blessing. God help you if you don't. He will find ways to fuck you sideways if you don't.

I don't think anybody who's TRUTHFUL will favor Cunningham's charge that the GRA is a far-right group, when it's composed of middle class and lawful Republican voters who are still outraged over what their Gov and SOS did in Georgia in November 2020.

>>So why did Dominion want Tucker fired. The real reason.

Because Dominion is part of the Deep State Panopticon and Tucker was transmitting powerful counter narratives into the Zeitgeist and The Deep State does not like counter narratives being transmitted into the Zeitgeist and seeing as they had FOX by the balls, it was a no-brainer to make the demand.

If FOX said no, then they would have been on the hook for 1.6 billion instead of 800 billion.

The left may get their wish of finishing off FOX News on the one hand and on the other hand having a bigger more difficult headache to deal with.

245 I put highest odds on the 2020 steal being ballot stuffing including games played with mail-ins, which explains Biden's overall total because of places like CA. When that wasn't enough to win the electoral college they stuffed in a few cities in key blue states.

Dominion may have helped give early insight into what was needed, but there wasn't electonic stuffing.

In my fever dreams Dominion is now insulated from challenge and will engage in electronic ballot stuffing.

This is why Big Tech had layoffs - they are scared because they know they are incompetent and bloated and know he can manage a business better.

277 Unlike most things in contracts, non-competes are disfavored as a restraint on trade and not necessarily enforceable as written. Much depends on which state's law applies. Likely that Tucker's has DE law which is company-friendly. NY is middle of the road. CA bans them.

The specific language can also be relevant, no surprise.

If Tucker isn't getting paid it'll be hard for Fox to win. The optics of their suing a journalist they fired for speaking his mind will kill the Fox News brand.

What's mind boggling is that that is the REAL war right now. Even if WWIII (or is it IV?) happened, the US and our continent with lots of people and assets will persist. Our conflict will have been with an overseas threat. The country can rebuild.

With the information (free exchange of ides whatnot) war, a very small number of people can destroy a nation from within never to exist again as it was. The legacy will be forever gone and, in this specific case, edited out of history because it can be done. See Orwell.

It's hard to grasp how quickly the world (and the US specifically) has changed. I hope there's a still significant silent majority to repair the damage, but if I'm putting money on the table, I'm betting historic US is gone.

324 >>Rumors are he's worth upwards of $400M. Take all the "family" monies into account.

There is an estate over in Newport where Tucker went to high school that was owned by one of the family members. Big time family money. And the high school he went to is one of the most expensive in the country.

Still, rich people don't usually get rich by walking away from $25 million. And the fact that he has all that money and is willing to thumb his nose at the ruling class rather than join them a la Trump makes me respect him all the more.

Posted by: JackStraw at May 09, 2023 06:38 PM (ZLI7S)

325 Tucker addressed much of this thinking in his Heritage speech, prior to firing.

A multi-billionaire isn't "risking more" when they speak out because he has billions, he's risking less because he has more money than you can even think of if he catches fallout.

A wage-slave that speaks out, well, he's risking his marriage, his supper, his kids, his existence.

If you can't take a risk as a billionaire, there is no point in being a billionaire.

328 " Tucker is giving up the $25 million he's still owed on his contract, claims Puck. -- If so, I guess this is a breach -- though a case of breaching second -- and I guess he will be free to make money from subscriptions and ads."

imo he should get the full contract cash. They did not let him continue his show, which influences the rest of his career (contract details may or may not be important).

They also seem to have pushed a smear campaign against him, to destroy him and keep him from being a competitor (as well as serving the left and silencing him as a citizen that does not serve the Commie State.).

"Shut up and sit in this corner, You have no Rights" ... is "terrorism", or given all the powerful entities involved (right up to AOC and Joe Biden and Schumer rejoicing that they got Tucker fired) .. it requires a RICO act investigation, special counsel.

But the Barr/Rosenstein/Wray/Garland mobsters will go to the mattresses to stop any investigation of their mafia. THEY investigate and terrorize any that look into their crimes. (Kash Patel spells that out with Bannon)

It was basically a loop of wire or rope passed through a hole in an upright beam that the prisoner was strapped to. A crank twisted the wire or rope, both choking the prisoner and distorting the neck backwards over a metallic shelf or wedge that broke the spine. Eventually.

332 For me, Tucker Carlson earned my trust over the first few years of his on Fox. This came about in an odd way. I would often fire off a text about the main story of the day to a few friends and how I would frame it if I was speaking with honesty, perspective and proportion. It was uncanny how often Tucker that evening would come at the same story from roughly the same place; it became a running joke amongst us that I was writing Tucker's show for him. Further, is that same perspective would over the course of the day would be hashed out at AoS and in the always lively comments. There is a real truth that emerges daily from the from the bloggers and the Horde Mind (tm, pat. pending), one that I have come value.

Using this as a foundation Tucker soon became the second most important voice in the nation, after Limbaugh before he passed, and then the most important voice for people that still valued our constitutional republic, the constitution and the bill of rights, liberty and freedom, civil discourse in all its forms, and the importance of spiritual foundation to everything. Tucker will inherit that which Limbaugh left behind and expand it. It's game on.

Absolutely agree with you. They are the tip of the spear that rallies many and articulates what is on the tip of their tongues. These two, Tucker and Elon, have a shot at challenging and checking the endless Leftist propaganda that has and is poisoning the nation and if we get lucky the GOPe may, overtime, slowly at first and then all at once, become an actual party that can bring the leftist insurgency to a halt. Time will tell if this is true but for now we have a beginning.

Sorry about Trump poisoning your cat. I don't how he finds the time commit all the crimes he has done and still murder your cat. You should sue him. It could be worth a few million dollars to you and the best part is you don't even need evidence.
