Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Did Leftwing ESG Investment Group Blackrock -- Which Just Increased Its Holdings of Fox to 15.1% -- Demand the Firing of Tucker Carlson to "Fortify the Election" of 2024?We know the increasingly liberal Rupert Murdoch was "concerned" by Tucker Carlson's J6 reporting, and we strongly, strongly suspect that Murdoch ordered him to stop reporting on the J6 video. But what would provoke Murdoch to either fire Carlson or impose such unbearable censorship on Carlson as to force him to quit? Was it the leftwing investment group which now owns almost one sixth of Fox? When an investor increases his holdings to more than 15% of a company, he has to disclose that, as he is now an investor with enough ownership stake in a company that he can start making demands and decisions. On February 1, ultrapartisan Democrat-leaning woke investment group Blackrock, led by hyperpartisan leftwinger Larry Fink, announced it had increased its holdings to 15.1%.Fintel reports that BlackRock has filed a 13G/A form with the SEC disclosing ownership of 45.74MM shares of Fox Corporation, Class A (FOXA). This represents 15.1% of the company. In their previous filing dated January 27, 2022 they reported 39.87MM shares and 12.40% of the company, an increase in shares of 14.75% and an increase in total ownership of 2.70% (calculated as current - previous percent ownership).Of course, we've seen the hyper-rich interfere in the 2020 election. Mark Zuckerberg spent more than $350 million in Zuckerbucks to "fortify the election" in Democrat districts, turning out voters and also paying to ballot harvest and "cure" defective votes. But just in Democrat districts, you understand. He wasn't interested in increasing voting overall. And no one can possibly not understand that a thusfar-secret leftwing billionaire made Drudge a huge cash offer to purchase his site, but pretend that he was still involved in it. The ultra-rich of the left decided to take Drudge out for the 2020 election. Does the firing of Tucker Carlson not suggest that they're taking out the right's biggest, brightest communicator out for the 2024 election? And, in fact, deliberately destroying the biggest news network that even leans, if slightly, right? David SacksBecause this will destroy Fox. I'm not sure the play was even made to take out Tucker Carlson, who will be actually become even more powerful now that Darth Vader has struck him down. No, I think the play was to force Fox into a Final Sellout which would effectively finish off the network, which is already half-despised by the right. From a friend: ![]() But Megyn Kelly is advising him to just take the route she took and create his own communications empire. Larry CorreiaIndeed. Leftwingers have almost no initiative themselves, and crave the Status of working for a Status-conferring corporation more than anything else, and are so mentally-defective that they still think that the way to get rich is to work for someone else who pays you a comfortable salary while he takes most of the wealth you're generating. Hm! Blackrock holds a significant stake in both Fox and Dominion. So essentially they sued themselves and used the move to leverage Carlson off the air. Posted by: Bitter ClingerBelow, Megyn Kelly predicts Fox News will be badly, badly damaged by this. Which I think was the whole point of the exercise.

Willowed:
By the way, Freon did not cause the hole in the Ozone layer at the poles. Those holes are natural phenomena, Ozone is created when UV light from the sun strikes the upper atmosphere. The poles get very little light of any kind during their winters, with the south pole receiving less than the north pole because the Earth's orbit is such that the Earth is farther from the sun during the Antarctic winter than during the Arctic winter. As a result the Antarctic ozone hole is bigger than the Arctic hole. Freon was banned because it was going off patent, and becoming generic. Tucker Carlson would really be in it for the paycheck if he signed on with Ben Shapiro or Glenn Beck. I'm sure he'd be able to afford his New York celebrity lifestyle, but it wouldn't motivate a lot of people to follow him.
By contrast, working with Rumble, OANN, or even setting up his own independent studio would let him keep much more of the money generated while being a massive growth infusion to populist platforms.

I suppose I shouldn't be surprised as they lie to us all the time... but is this true? Posted by: Inogame at April 25, 2023 12:22 PM (53oGX) ++++ It's speculative, but possible. Freon (and other CFCs) chemically can deplete the ozone layer, but it has to get there and that's difficult. They're heavier than air and so have to convect *really* far to reach the ozone layer. There are two reasonable explanations for banning Freon: 1. The chemical ability of CFCs to destroy ozone and the discovery of the "hole" in the ozone layer led to the conclusion that CFCs caused the hole and they had to be banned to contain the damage. The conclusion was likely wrong, but the circumstantial evidence didn't look to be. 2. Freon was off-patent and DuPont would certainly prefer to have Freon taken out by regulation, so they could sell new refrigerants that are on-patent. I strongly suspect the answer is "both." The do-gooders and hair-on-fire environmental panic crew latched onto it as a great evil and the industrialists and regulators used that as an excuse to do a solid for DuPont and gain some favors in the future. I'm not as sanguine over the prospects of Carlson getting back in the game anytime soon, if ever.
As I have paraphrased a couple times today, the enemies we face aren't f**king around, they mean business. And they tend to pursue their enemies, even if they go to ground. Losing Tucker, even if it's for a short while was a big blow. There is essentially no one with a platform that size pumping out counter narrative for an hour at 8pm. Biggest winner in all of this may be Tim Pool, but he can be taken out with a line of code at, at a whim. Posted by: Thomas Bender at April 25, 2023 12:30 PM (up/3i) 159

Not enough.
We need wealth taxes. Income taxes only hurt the people who actual produce something. Wealth taxes are a terrible idea and discourage economic growth.... But, at this point, I want these rich people to HURT. So screw them and confiscate their wealth. Have more than $1B? Gone. Try to hide it in a foundation? That's gone too. Give it off to your family? We'll take it from them. Try to offshore your wealth? We'll grab it all. (Of course, it's not going to happen, because they've already bought the corruptocrats that rule us.) "Because this will destroy Fox. I'm not sure the play was even made to take out Tucker Carlson, who will be actually become even more powerful now that Darth Vader has struck him down. No, I think the play was to force Fox into a Final Sellout which would effectively finish off the network, which is already half-despised by the right."
Correct. The Left did to Fox what it did to the Republican Party--caused it to fuck over its base via direct attacks on Trump in the case of the latter, and in the process emasculated it. I never really bought into the Stupid Party meme until recently. In addition to the cowardice and corruption, the GOP (and Fox) is moronic. Fox will be truncated at best, a larger Newsmax. It probably will outlast the GOP, which effectively will die after this cycle. The next step will be going after websites, podcasts and video clips for once and all. That's already well underway. It is time to think what comes after this garbage tier police state gives up the ghost. Posted by: Trump poisoned my cat at April 25, 2023 12:31 PM (KSNKu) 168

The destruction of Fox may cheer the left, but the independent voices that rise from the ashes will be much harder to target. They'll have the independence to speak unfiltered truth, and the dispersed numbers to avoid (mostly) direct targeting. Sure, a few will get isolated and targeted, and if they're weak, they'll fall. But the strong will survive and conquer. It's going to be much harder for the journalist to coordinate attacks on Tucker and Dan and Megyn and Mark, and Joe etc. than on "Fox." And, of like Joe, they always punch back twice as hard...getting what they wanted may not turn out so good for them.

I strongly suspect the answer is "both." The do-gooders and hair-on-fire environmental panic crew latched onto it as a great evil and the industrialists and regulators used that as an excuse to do a solid for DuPont and gain some favors in the future.

The truth is Carlson was successfully exposing the Biden/McConnell Neocon cabal so they had him fired. With no opposing viewpoint, Fox will pitch the cabal's chosen GOPer candidate DeSantis 24 /7.
With the recent purge of the anti-Neocons at Fox and other media outlets, and the selection of DeSantis as the presumptive nominee, the cabal believes the Biden/McConnell uniparty have won the war and are demobilizing - e.g CNN and MSNBC offloading of firebrands. You'll see a further "softening" of the Leftstream media over the next 2 years as they work to manipulate GOPers to solidify the cabal's reign via a sham election between two cabal nominees - GOPer DeSantis vs Leftist Biden (or whoever the Left trots out). The only politician proven capable of fighting the deepstate/cabal is Trump so get used to voting for him. Trump 2024. Posted by: Nispee ruckzel at April 25, 2023 12:47 PM (fmTmo) 282

And I think he still has got a couple of years, two or three years left on the contract. Just like Lou Dobbs and the other guys. They pay him out under the terms because they don’t want to set up their competitors. They pay him out the $20 million. He doesn’t have the option of going somewhere else. This is to take the voice of Populism and the voice of MAGA off of primetime. As I said in that speech, if DeSantis is not the guy to do it, they’ll find Glenn Youngkin or Tim Scott or Brian Kemp. They’ll find anybody to chop-block Trump in the primary. If that doesn’t work, they’ll get in back of Joe Biden. Right? And it’s all about stopping Trump and stopping MAGA…

I feel it's a catch-22 to start tying to hurt Fox, because it just furthers plans of people like Fink.
To them they'll gladly lose billions of dollars to the reach their objective, especially when those billions aren't their money. It's not a personal investment by Fink, it's from those who invested in Blackrock, as these hedgefund manners get their cut no matter what, and claim ignorance when their company loses money. Secondly I'd assume many News Corp investors are conservative leaning people who invested in them because they assumed they were doing good things, and they'll be the ones screwed, not the left leaning Murdoch sons. These people need to be hurt in other ways, preferably using the same tactics as the left, where conservative DAs start looking in to Blackrock's practices and going after their leaders with criminal charges. If Tucker has a brain in his head he saved the Jan 6th footage to pass to Lindell. Put simply, it's really easy to be forgotten if you get cancelled. But despite the overwhelming power and antiChristian savagery of the NYC oligarchs, the spirit endures. This won't quiet concerns about the basic illegitimacy of the Bloomberg/ Soros government, but amplifies them. Posted by: trev006 at April 25, 2023 01:04 PM (DTm0P) 398

Given that Blackrock shot themselves in the head to make this all happen, and Rupert apparently was told to "make a decision, sir" I'd say the business implications don't begin to rise to what this all portends. Robert Barnes (vivabarneslaw.locals.com) made some interesting points about this deal. One is that the Dominion/Fox settlement is worth much more than Dominion's entire market cap, and thus can't possibly be justified as defamation damages even if it had put Dominion out of business completely.
Second is that Blackrock seems to now own big chunks (like 30%+) of both Fox and Dominion, so in effect they're paying themselves. And third, Tucker has f-you money and has had it for a long time. He doesn't need to keep working at all. If he does, it's unlikely to be for any traditional media corporation. I expect him to get a nice 8-figure offer from Rumble or Locals and take that, because it gives him editorial control, even if Spotify or the Daily Wire offers more.
