But I hate them because they are in the size-range to eat cats. Especially old ones like mine. I moved recently, and heard an owl hooting the other night, and thought about finding a way to kill owls.

When we got Black Dog Three she was a puppy and would get out in the big back yard at night because she could fit through the small fence because she was so tiny. It would scare the crap out of me because we have huge owls that roam our neighborhood at night. They take full grown cats and she was a tiny little puppy at the time and they could have taken her in a second. I would stand out there with a flashlight until she would come back in the house.

2.) Owls are way, way smarter than higher-flying raptors. Those things are basically just eyes and a stomach with a little nerve bundle to connect them. Owls are usually not stupid enough to claw or bite a human, even a small one (as long as bigger humans are near).

I'm then go to my appointment and their computer system goes on the blink.

I've had it with cheap Chicom shit. I had some old rusted, rounded off bolts on a plow that I had to cut off. Used an air-powered cut-off tool that uses these 3" thin cutting wheels (like a grinder disc, but thinner).

Brand new one out of a pack I'd picked up at some damn auto parts place. Got one nut cut up enough to bang the bolt out, then went after another one.

The damn wheel flew apart. Had I not had my face shield on, I could've been in the ER had a piece hit my face just right.

This is nothing but cheap, defective Chicom shit, and somebody ought to be sued over this. They just don't care, and put this defective shit on the market now. I hate to say it, but the only way to fix that and make them care is to sue the shit out of them.

There's a big barred owl that lives in a live oak tree across the street from me, hear it almost every night. Not as big as the great horned, the next size down, but still pretty big. Usually gives the same call, but when 2 or 3 get going together they get really raucous. sometimes almost sounding like a dog barking.

Most often one of my many Unit Ballcaps from the Navy, but in inclement weather? one of my Cowboy hats.

234 On hats... one time a Friend and I were flying to a yuge Sword fighting event in Pennsylvania... from San Francisco... we were going to be there for 10 days...

So swords in the travel case... clothes... OK... but everyone there camps onsite and dresses appropriately while there (think private Ren Faire with actual fighting events). Well, the one thing we couldn't figure out how to pack, were our Swashbuckler Hats... sooooooo.... after a few Capt. Morgans...

Told my friend, I'd fly in costume if he would.... so... we flew from San Fran Airport, in full on Swashbuckler costumes. Cracked me up because in San Fran, even when we were sitting in the bar waiting for our flight... no one would really look at us... but when we got one the plane and into Penn? People wanted pictures.

We later joked that in San Fran? they just thought we made a really cute couple.

Yeah I was awestruck by Joel's tie collection. Dozens of them, in all styles and colors and types. Scores. Nobody wears ties anymore really, in our family. I mean my cousin is a welder, my only living brother is a theater pub manager, I work at home writing and illustrating. But boy did he have a collection, because same deal in IT department at State Farm: ties every day except Friday and I think he wore one anyway.

By the way Reese's Peanut Butter Cups has a new "plant based" version coming out. I guess I am just confused, I thought peanut butter and chocolate WAS plant based. Are the cups made from steak or something??

Go to a couple of coin shops, and try some of the watch repair places. A lot of them like to have stuff like that on the side. If nothing else they will give you an estimate of what they would pay for them.
Jewelry makers might be more interested in it than a retail shop, some of the chain places have their own jewelers and sources and don't have any ability to buy outside of their contracts.

I do have a suit, but it's not a very good one. I'm just old (school) enough to think that one should wear a suit to job interviews. I'm apparently going to Europe on a serious business trip later in the year, and I need to find out more about the expected dress code and whether suits are going to be a thing. Answer's probably no, but best to make sure before embarrassing myself in a room full of corpo types.

I took the collar off of a number of my shirts because they got worn (One does not casually turn a Nordstrom or a Brooks Bros. shirt into dusters) and I like that they gave me an excuse not to wear a tie.

Tying ties is a wifely duty I never learned. John (late, first) Husband knew how, maybe he'd learned in scouts, and we just got Son clip-ons when he was little and needed one.

290 My suggestion for you all, if you need a sports jacket, go to Goodwill or St. Vinnies thrift shops. It will take a while, but you will find one you like that fits you. Also a tailor shop will modify a suit jacket that almost fits you to fit you like it was made for you far cheaper than buying one at Men's Wearhouse

It sounds cold, but really, dead men only need one suit, and the rest go for knockdown prices.

291 They take full grown cats and she was a tiny little puppy at the time and they could have taken her in a second. I would stand out there with a flashlight until she would come back in the house.

The Owl would have appreciated you illuminating the target, had it seen your puppy. I've noticed Owls perch on top of streetlamps to do do their hunting.
