Big Pharma Covid Vaccine Manufacturers Pressured Twitter To Censor Activists... Calling for Generic Versions of the Vaccine

These people weren't spreading vaccine hesitancy.

They were calling for a low-cost generic competitor to Big Pharma's vaccines.

So, obviously, they also had to be censored.

BioNTech -- makers of the Pfizer vaccine -- contacted a lobbyist for Twitter in Euope named Nina Morschhaeuser to tell them of an emergency: an activist group in Europe was planning a pressure campaign to get Big Pharma to share its vaccine patents so that the vaccines could be made cheaply by other countries.

Well, obviously, that's some kind of Threat or something.

This got spun into "fake accounts" and "hacking" threats, the sort of thing Twitter would respond to. Morschhaueuser dutifully relayed the warning to her colleagues at Twitter, sounding the alarms for battlestations.

"The authorities are warning about 'serious consequences' of the action, i.e. posts and a flood of comments 'that may violate TOS' as well as the 'takeover of user accounts' are to be expected," wrote Morschhaeuser. "Especially the personal accounts of the management of the vaccine manufacturers are said to be targeted. Accordingly, fake accounts could also be set up."

...

Morschhaeuser, while alerting several site integrity and safety teams at Twitter, forwarded on an email from BioNTech spokesperson Jasmina Alatovic, who asked Twitter to "hide" activist tweets targeting her company's account over a period of two days.

Morschhaeuser flagged the corporate accounts of Pfizer, BioNTech, Moderna, and AstraZeneca for her colleagues to monitor and shield from activists. Morschhaeuser also asked colleagues to monitor the hashtags #PeoplesVaccine and #JoinCTAP, a reference to the World Health Organization's Covid-19 Technology Access Pool, a program promoted by developing countries to accelerate the development of vaccines through the equitable sharing of research and manufacturing capacity. She noted that the group Global Justice Now was spearheading the action with an online sign-up form.

She's asking her fellow Twitter employees to monitor all these political accounts on behalf of Big Pharma.

Fang says it's "not clear" what action, if any, Twitter took on behalf of BioNTech; he doesn't have full access to all of Twitter's emails. His deal is that he can request a search for emails with keywords, and hope that he gets all the emails responsive to that search.

I'm guessing that Twitter did not actually censor anyone, though they probably did monitor, as a compromise. I don't think they'd be quick to censor an obviously left-wing cause, and not when the people asking for it are so transparently self-interested.

Asked for comment, BioNTech essentially said "f*** off." They gave a nonresponsive answer that did not touch the actual question about their attempt to get Twitter to interceded against a political campaign they didn't like, instead saying, that BioNTech "takes its societal responsibility seriously and is investing in solutions to improve the health of people regardless of their income." Well la-di-dah.

Corporations have speech rights, you know.

It's just citizens who don't.

Now I actually do think that BioNTech does have the right to attempt to bully another corporation into acting as its censor. This isn't a government acting to bully a corporation while it publicly threatens punitive regulation against it if it doesn't get what it wants. You know, what David French calls "jawboning."

But it's a close call, given that Pfizer was a government partner corporation through this period. (I should find out the German for "partner corporation."_

And all of this is going on with monopoly speech platforms. Monopoly. Behind our backs.

Did they suppress or did they just "monitor?" I dunno. I don't much care. They didn't do anything like say, "screw you. It would be grossly unethical and probably illegal and we're not doing it and we're reporting you to the authorities."

They were *never* going to say that. This demand was made because the person doing the demanding had a reasonable expectation of being listened to because that is how the system *works.* Whether Twitter did it or not in this particular context is less important than the fact that this is the way things work and everyone well-connected knows it.

HCQ has side effects. All drugs have side effects. On of the side effects of HCQ is rapid heartbeat It's rare and usually in combination with something else. Other side effects are blurred vision and, if you take large doses for a long time, retinal damage.

The side effects are fairly rare, but they're there. HCQ is a generally safe drug with an extremely long track record, and the interactions and risks are well understood.

HCQ - like Ivermectin - was subjected to a lot of noise in this regard. It's as if HCQ is the only drug that ever had side effects, or the only drug for which side effects were potentially dangerous. There is no free lunch. Not ever.

Maybe he did. I did not. Whether or not get the vaccine is, like all medical decisions, one that must be made individually based on his own personal risk assessment. For me, my risk assessment said, "do not take." Some people had different risk assessments for themselves. They can do what they want.

I just don't want compulsion to be involved, or deceit. Make your sales pitch. Do it without lying to me. The decision, however, is mine. Same for everyone else.

Flu Shots are guesstimate vaccinations. They don't really know what strain is going to be running around next year, they make a best guess and vaccinate you for something along those lines. So the expectation is that they really only work some of the time(when they guess close enough).

They're spending their money differently. Moderna is a one-trick pony. They have mRNA and that's it. There's a reason that MRNA is their ticker symbol. I think they're happy to book the profits and spend it on regulatory activity (that is, bribery) rather than on marketing. Moderna goes to zero if either liability shields fail *or* mRNA-based stuff faces the kinds of regulatory hurdles it historically has. Either of those things can send the company to the ash heap of history.

They're not buying ad time and sponsoring everything under the sun, but I strongly suspect they're greasing a *lot* of palms in Washington and elsewhere.

There's a problem, though, and that problem is whether it's the mechanism that did it. The findings from Colombia - which used Sinovac, which is a traditional vaccine and not mRNA - look a lot like ours. Lots of blood clotting and cardiac damage.

If it's the spike protein that's dangerous rather than the mRNA, then anyone who was vaccinated at all - mRNA or traditional - faces those consequences at whatever rates they occur.

That could be good news for mRNA, though mRNA is still a very hot topic because it is getting close to or over the line (depending on who you ask) of human genetic engineering.

160 I diverge from people who think those who have gotten a vaccine are doomed to die much earlier than normal lifespans. The data I've seen says that the vaccine has a dangerous # of bad, even fatal side effects and that the virus is not all that dangerous for folks under 60. But the data don't indicate that 50% of those that got jabbed will die. The vaccine should have been, should be yanked off the market because 1-5% or whatever the actual statistic is, is way way too high.

170 In common law, there is a saying that one must come to court with clean hands. In this case, you would get the FDA to stab Pfizer etc. in the back as they did to the makers of opiod painkillers. Fraud generally vitiates immunity as the FDA under political pressure will probably declare all the trials conducted by Moderna and Pfizer as faked in order to get the EUA and immunity. ...
Posted by: whig at January 23, 2023 03:49 PM (bDjBG)

Right. I have always heard it described as "fraud voids all contracts." If fraud can be demonstrated in court, it would render the immunity null and expose the manufacturers to liability. If that happens, Moderna is a zero, with Pfizer and J&J having near-death experiences. I doubt Pfizer and J&J fail completely under the weight of the liability, but it will be touch-and-go.

It is why I suspect that the fraud - and it was there, and is well documented - will never be permitted to be proved in court.

Which is what "justification" is for. It's what makes taking money from a drug dealer or executing a murderer not disruptive. So long as a justification is accepted, an action is not interpreted as establishing an arbitrary activity pattern that might impact anybody.

If people are largely convinced this is a special case that has no bearing on their life, the consequences of revoking immunity are minimal to none.

Posted by: Red Turban Someguy - The Republic is already dead! at January 23, 2023 03:55 PM (eYoxG)

186 Not everyone. First time I heard Trump spout off about the "vaccine" effort, I guffawed, then screamed some obscenities. No evidence influenza morbidity or mortality has been affected by decades of flu shots, and a "vaccine" for an ILI is far from an obviously sensible approach. Rapidly mutating highly infectious respiratory viruses have only one "solution" - none. Duh.

But the desperate need for placebo reassurance and some vague sense of control or even leverage, not limited to public health of course, was the driver here.

Even the Great Barrington authors couldn't help themselves, they *had* to say there was *something* that could be done (isolating - somehow - the elderly/medically infirm). Pretty bogus, if superficially appealing, idea. Doubtful any such efforts could produce a net benefit.

There's a great video of an epidemiology conference years ago in which the very solid panel members are openly discussing how in some future epidemic there will be some need to produce "actions" and "policies" to give the public a placebo, even though such measures will not materially affect the epidemic.

Penn then filed patents on the technology but didn't reward Dr Kariko. So she left and went to BioNTech.

BioNTech licenses the technology to Pfizer and Moderna for use in their China virus vaccines and Penn, China's favorite Ivy, makes bank on the patents.

I did some rough estimating using publicly available John Hopkins estimates and determined it was most likely a bad flu pretty early on. Never got freaked or took the jab.

The huge death toll estimates were based on far fewer people being infected and consequently a much higher death rate(which didn't align with ordinary modeling for the spread of viruses). People were taking deaths and dividing it by recorded cases, where recorded cases almost certainly massively understated how many people had been infected at any given time.

A while back one of the lefty rags admitted half the people in hospitals "for" COVID were actually just there *with* COVID.

Then other studies have found that only 6% of COVID deaths (in Europe where the numbers were LESS goosed) had no co-morbidies.

The American data is garbage at this point and unrecoverable. But one could take say a few mid-sized European and African countries to potentially generate a real number.

And two specific problems with this:

1) The most dangerous time after getting the clot shot is the first 24 hours - and if you die they count you as unvaccinated

2) You are MORE likely to get COVID after you've had the first jab then if you never get one. So if you get the clot shot, get covid a couple day later and then end up dying? You are "unvaccinated"

I am not certain I agree with that assessment. Things were starting to open up (depending on where you were) in late 2020 and into 2021, well before the vaccines became generally available in mid-summer because of the economic weight of continuing the closures. Other control measures (masks and the like) were there, but closures were retreating. Places like Red China remained locked down hard through vaccine distribution. Sinovac doesn't work (at least, it doesn't work against non-original strains), but it was available and being used and they remained locked down hard until they lost control and had to open due to popular and economic pressure.

The vax gave them cover to reopen while passing the buck for any consequences, but I think they would have reopened anyway. Timing, of course, is one hell of a question mark, as are the consequences of waiting longer.

253 > The CDC estimates the efficacy of the "flu shot" is around 36pct for all age demos and populations.

Here's the generally accepted reason for that, and it's not, "The flu shot is fake!" At any given moment, there are about 20 different variants of the flu floating around in China, where nearly every flu outbreak originates. CDC and loads of other groups monitor that roiling cauldron of shit and try to make an educated guess regarding which of those variants is going to be the big ones in the US that year. Once they make their picks, they ramp up production in the US of the vaccines to guard against those variants. Usually they do a pretty good job and millions of people don't get the flu that year.

Now, given how much we found out about the CDC over the last three years, I am much more predisposed to agreeing they're incompetents with ulterior motives. But I'm not fully onboard with the "everything is fake all the time and the sole reason behind everything they is to subjugate you" hypothesis.

They did--even at the time of administration, the drugmakers and FDA knew that the vaxx was a prophylactic, not a sterilizing vaccine. Then, you saw the medical industry doing defense in depth as each statement proved to be a lie. It prevented transmission and getting Covid, then it prevented transmission and made your symptoms lighter, then well, it does not prevent transmission and in fact may make you a superspreader and more likely to get covid each additional shot you get but it saves you from death or injury from covid. Next, will be we did not know it would kill people over the long run by side effects.

To make an impact, a stock tout has to stake out an extreme position, or be lost in the din. So he claims that e.g., Microsoft will go into Chapter 11, that the Dow will plummet to 5000, or skyrocket to 100,000. Then he hopes to God that things move his way. The placebo that was referred to in the conference video I mentioned was any policy that the public would think meant "something was being done". Regardless of substantive impact.

The "vaccines" were not available until long after the IFR and CFR of C19 was known to be nothing like the (utterly baseless) initial doomsaying predictions (and that was even before the wholesale mortality # reductions, still continuing). The uncensored/mostly obscure yet quite substantively well-grounded people on social media who had been rational about C19 from the outset reacted like me to "vaccines" - huh? Did Pfizer know about SPS in Feb 2021?
Maybe, maybe not. We know that SPS was reported in Pfizer's postmarketing documents on page 37, which is also page 8 of Appendix 1. Being in this document indicates that Pfizer was aware of it no later than 2/28/21, and the FDA knew about it no later than April 2021. However, as one of my astute readers (David Marshall) noted, "the AESI terms are incorporated into a TME list and include events of interest due to their association with severe COVID-19 and events of interest for vaccines in general." SPS is a known vaccine side effect from other vaccines, so that could be the reason for inclusion and likely was.

And to have the numbers of healthy people who died, plus those those who will have months, years in some cases of nasty ill health. Pfizer and Moderna should be killed as companies.

But folks who were vaccinated and had little or no reaction; or got over whatever reaction they had should not be in fear that they will get cancer or suffer a cardiac event at this point in time. Although I think they are gambling with their health if they keep taking boosters.

But, I don't remember seeing anyone around me begging for a vaccine. Especially after it came out that 99.8% fully recover from Covid with little to no medicinal treatment and no comorbidities.

I hear you on that one, but I think that the general public was still waaay to skittish to even leave the house before vaccines became available. It's incredible to think that if you have a coordinated Project Fear coming from gov't, media, and big and small businesses, just about everyone will listen. It's now 2023, and you still had significant public masking in late 2021 into 2022. There are still a lot of people driving around masking in their cars, and masking in the gym and in the street.

No, I think that without a big All Clear signal from having a vaccine available, the gen pop would be too scared to leave the house and buy anything.

299 bonhomme, the "flu shot" reduces morbidity? That would be news to me. Even given that such calculations necessarily rely very much on estimates and assumptions, given the nature of the phenomenon, I was not aware of any analysis that supported efficacy of flu shots in reducing case numbers or severity, on the whole.

And "lockdowns" for this type of pathogen were *already* known not to work, from a century of observation and even experimentation.

To quote (almost verbatim, from memory): "there is no historical observation or scientific research that supports the quarantining of healthy populations to reduce the spread of influenza". From a fairly definitive study in 2006, team headed by the director of the global smallpox eradication effort.

"Mitigation" of this sort for this type of epidemic was long known not to have any value. Just as masks have been shown to lack any value from 70+ years of research.

I didn't take the shot, and when I did get COVID I ended up taking IVM, and it cleared up almost immediately. Now, that said, I was still more than a little apprehensive as I was taking the IVM. Felt a little like I was gambling with my life, even though my mind and evidence around me was telling me that I would be OK.

That is the power of a coordinated Project Fear. I don't blame anyone for taking the shot in the face of that campaign.

Pretty much any respiratory virus will hit about 20-25% of the population. Saying your shot is X% effective means nothing. Only 1 in 4 people were going to catch it anyways. It is why only 24% of the people on the cruise ship caught COVID. Do the flu shots work, doubtful. At best, they have such a low benefit that it is economically wasteful.

Realistically, Pfizer and especially Moderna must have been working on this for long before Covid hit. You don't just go into the lab for the afternoon and whip up a little something to deal with a disease. The usual time cycle is about ten years. My guess is that they were working on antivirals for years, and just switched to this specific target when Covid hit.

350 Now I'm not a Covid neurotic, quite the contrary in fact, but it just wasn't clear in, say, March 2020. So we're getting a lot of retrospective analysis along the lines of "FDR should've moved the battleships out of Pearl Harbor on 6 December." Yeah, we know that - now.

That's where I am. I don't think it was an op from jump street. February and March were full of unknowns with damn few knowns.

That changed fairly quickly. The Diamond Princess happened. Spread was able to be tracked. Effects on hospital services were better understood. Data about treatments was coming fast and hard (and starting to be suppressed, but that's a slightly different topic).

The date I use for "op transition" is Easter of 2020. By then, we knew that the hospital system was not going to collapse. We knew approximately what the spread looked like. We had some ideas on how to treat it, with more to come fairly quickly. Lower-impact countermeasures - improved sanitation, mandatory sick time to keep sick people out of the workforce, etc. - would have been easy to implement and somewhat effective. We knew it by then.

352 My poor brother was told by his daughter that he couldn't see his granddaughter if he didn't take the shot, and capitulated (J&J shot)

Same thing happened to us - daughter and hubby didn't want us possibly giving new grandson the Coof, so we got the shot (J&J), under protest, and then the booster, because by then the original shot wasn't "enough" for them.

And after we had seen the new baby (without EVER being exposed to COVID), Son-in-law went on a business trip, caught COVID (with a shot and TWO boosters under his belt!), and promptly brought it home and daughter, Son-in-law, his mom, and the new grandson ALL got COVID.

At the next visit, I managed to catch COVID somehow, then passed it along to grandson, but by that time we were 2 years into the pandemic, so mom and Dad weren't as worried about it. ..

Family practice is where you go if you want more relaxed, less "schedule, schedule, schedule" doctoring for your kid...

374 Here's the generally accepted reason for that, and it's not, "The flu shot is fake!" At any given moment, there are about 20 different variants of the flu floating around in China, where nearly every flu outbreak originates.

Close. It does not provide immunity. It provides symptom mitigation, and is why it is practical for the elderly to get the vaccine, as it tries to make the flu less lethal. It is not a vaccine in the purest sense.

Certainly by May, the death numbers were obvious: You're in trouble if you're over 100 (Then again, you were already in trouble, because you were over 100), elevated risk down to about 65, normal flu down to about 50, actually less risk than regular flu if under 50.

And then came the Floyd Charade, and everyone on both sides knew it was an op, but one side recognized that for their side, it was a very good op.

He told them "Screw that -- they'll kill me in there." He treated himself with Ivermectin, supplements, and other therapeutics and, despite having some lung damage and needing oxygen initially, he survived. He also immediately retired before they could fire him.

Testing is expensive, but it's not the only cost. Drug R&D is not so much superhero scientists flexing their godlike brains to save the world as it is a million competent monkeys trying to recreate Shakespeare. Many years ago I discovered a pharma R&D guy's blog and read some of the posts; it was an interesting perspective on how the sausage is made and just how many attempts they have to make before they have something that's fit for clinical trials. Come to think of it, I'm pretty sure he worked for Pfizer.

At that point I realized it was an op. Oh, and OSHA consenting to some of these "engineering" or administrative protocols that they knew didn't work. They most certainly did not call them PPE, because you can't call something PPE which the manufacturer admits doesn't do the job.

SJG,
FWIW, back in the day when I did big data projects, my specialty was event history data and sorting out specific versus general effects to determine causation. It got though to the point where you can see data trends and separate out confounding data pretty heuristically. Essentially, if you are dealing with time series data, there is no reason that your data should suddenly go wonky a full year after Covid vaxxes were available if they did not when Covid was spreading rapidly with no treatments. Likewise of the PR study which dealt with cardiac injury among the vaxxed.

I have come to terms with the fact that the vaxx has injured my health but due to facts that I take doses of powerful drugs designed to reduce inflammation, I will probably not suffer the full effects as a consolation prize.

1) Covid was about half as dangerous to me as flu and no one had ever given me grief for not getting flu shots.
2) Israel was already recommending boosters because vaxxed people were contracting Covid.
3) It was already becoming evident that there was a significant risk of autoimmune diseases, weird viral diseases, and cancer.
4) I knew two people who didn't survive their shots, and unlike the supposed Covid deaths in my circle, the injected deaths were healthy, active people.
5) The previous animal trials for mRNA treatments were not successful.
