The Saturday Night Joke

IT SNOWED LAST NIGHT

We received about 2 inches of snow yesterday and
8:00 am: I made a snowman.

8:10-A feminist passed by and asked me why I didn't make a snow woman.

8:15 - So, I made a snow woman.

8:17 - My feminist neighbor complained about the snow woman's voluptuous chest saying it objectified women everywhere.

8:20 - The gay couple living nearby threw a hissy fit and moaned it could have been two snowmen instead.

8:22 - The transgender man.. women...person asked why I didn't just make one snow person with detachable parts.

8:25 - The vegans at the end of the lane complained about the carrot nose, as veggies are food and are not used to decorate snow figures.

8:28 - I was being called a racist because the snow couple is white.

8:30 - I used food coloring to make one of the snow couple a different color and be more racially inclusive.

8:37 - Then accused of using a black face on the snowperson.

8:39 - The middle eastern gent across the road demanded the snow woman be completely covered.

8:40 - The police arrived saying someone had been offended.

8:42 - The feminist neighbor complained again that the broomstick of the snow woman needed to be removed because it depicted women in a domestic role.

8:43 - The 'council on equality' officer arrived and threatened
me with eviction.

8:45 - The TV news crew from ABC showed up. I was asked if I know the difference between snowmen and snowwomen. I replied "Snowballs" and am now a sexist.

9:00 - I was on the news as a suspected terrorist, racist, homophobe, and sensibility offender, bent on stirring up trouble during difficult weather.

9:10 - I was asked if I have any accomplices. My children were taken by social services.

9:29 - Far left protesters offended by everything marched down the street demanding that I be arrested.

9:45 - The boss called and fired me because of the negative association with work that had been all over social media.

10:00 - I cry into my drink because all I wanted to do was build a snowman...

Moral: There ain't no moral to this story. It is what this world has become because of a bunch of snowflakes. (H/T Hrothgar)

The ONT fun and educational all at the same time.20 Chucklesome Slang Terms From the 1910s

Nothing makes a person feel more like a flivver than getting too peloothered and waking up with the woofits. Any self-respecting beezer around during the early 20th century wouldn’t need a dictionary to decipher this intro, but you might.

Here are 20 colorful slang terms from the 1910s.

Investing is a risky adventure. Just ask this guy.

The owner of a 2023 Honda Civic Type R may be in a tight spot financially after trying—and failing—to auction their car off after paying $20,000 over sticker. Their auction coming up short may be a sign that flipping limited-production cars isn't as lucrative a practice as it once was.

The Honda was listed for sale on auction site Cars & Bids, with a mere 125 miles on the clock. Its MSRP was reported at $44,385, but the buyer paid $20,000 in dealer markups plus additional fees to reach a transaction price of $67,678.95. Though it was the first new Type R to be listed on the site, bidders didn't feel it was worth nearly that much and topped out at $49,000—without meeting reserve. That means the car didn't sell and its owner has no effortless payday to look forward to.

The nice thing about living in the sticks: No one will park in my driveway.

Guy Serves Refreshing Revenge After Someone Parks In His Driveway, Blocks Them In And Then Opens Up A Beer

Entitlement manifests in many ways and often acts as a barrier to empathy and understanding of others, so it’s important to recognize and eradicate it. Otherwise, you might get into trouble with people in situations where it can be easily avoided.

Just like the lady in this story did.

A few days ago, Reddit user TheToiletDestroyer recalled an incident involving a woman who had parked in his driveway. Without many options, he blocked the stranger’s car in with his own vehicle.

However, when she came back, the homeowner thought it wasn’t enough and decided to teach the unwanted guest a lesson she wouldn’t forget.

If life hands you snow. Have a naming contest for your snowplow.

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — The votes are in and the people have spoken.

Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz announced the winners of the “Name a Snowplow” contest.

With more than 3,100 names submitted, 40 snowplows will bear the top-voted names of the contest.

The contest was broken down into two categories, “under 18” and “over 18.” With 104 finalists in the “under 18” category and 111 in the “over 18,” the finalists were posted for a public vote where voters could vote for their top five names in each category.

10 names were taken from the “under 18” and 30 from the “over 18.”

A sex toy? Yucky. Genius Award Winner.

ANUARY 19--After jail deputies conducting a strip search spotted what appeared to be a crack pipe “hanging from her vagina,” a Florida Woman claimed that the item was actually a sex toy and not drug paraphernalia, according to an arrest affidavit.

Carmela Ann Manies, 57, was busted yesterday on a warrant charging her with failing to appear in court in connection with an alleged theft last year at a Walmart store.

While Manies was being processed into the Pinellas County jail, a booking officer “observed an anomaly” after the inmate passed through a full-body scanner. During a subsequent strip search, jailers reported, a “glass pipe was protruding from defendant’

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — The owner of a West Virginia restaurant that was heavily damaged by fire has his coveted hot dog statue back.

The “Wienerman” statue was stolen from the Dairy Winkle in Campbells Creek during a break-in sometime after the Jan. 11 fire, the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

A tip led deputies to a location where the statue was found undamaged. It was returned to restaurant owner Kerry Ellison, the statement said.

Greetings Everyone. Hope you have all been well.

Regarding "President" Biden...I agree it looks like it's 'bedtime for bonzo' with the plan being Kamala appoints (?) Hillary VP and either steps down or gets lead poisoning.

Crack open a cold one, lay in plenty o' Jiffy Pop and let the good times roll as we head into the abyss....it was nice while it lasted....

Posted by: Anonymous Guy in Kalifornistan at January 21, 2023 10:36 PM (sPzBC)

90 54 So they've decided that it would be better to have a mentally retarded "black" woman for president than an old, white man with dementia.

I thought that all this was just intended as a warning to Senile Joe not to run again, but it is increasingly looking as if they intend to get rid of Joe now.

The key, of course, is who they make Kamala select as her VP.
----------
I always suspected that Old Joe wouldn't give up willingly, partly because he lacks the will and partly because Dr. Jill and Hunter would prop him up for their own devices. The Dems though have once again turned to their Deep State arm to do the dirty work. So now the Feds are shocked, shocked that the Potato-in-Chief violated national security!! Now who gets to be the cum dumpster's replace-, I mean, Vice President, that will be interesting.

I can tell you a bit about that. I just went through a kitchen remodel. I did 100% of the work. Floors, electrical, plumbing, kitchen install, all the fancy moldings, etc. My brother's fabricator did the granite, and I got the cabs at dealer cost. I could have bought a new car, a really nice car, or a 30X 50 metal building complete with slab and then some, which I was supposed to do before the kitchen blew that away. When I stopped doing kitchens they averaged 7-10K. I have no clue WTF happened to that industry. I have no clue how people would even afford a nicer kitchen these days having to go out in the world for it. The numbers I'm hearing are completely obscene.

I think sometimes we give the deep state way too much credit. This isn't a movie and they aren't SPECTRE. If they were, they wouldn't have installed a corrupt moron in the White House in the first place.

There are a whole lot of people who now understand what time it is, way more than there were even during the 2020 election and that caused the most violent insurrection since time began. Most people aren't like us and don't really follow politics that closely but things might be changing a bit given how inept our deep state betters are at actually running things. I bought my father's house from the estate. I had the interior repainted, including the kitchen cabinets. I ripped out the carpeting because it was over 20 years old and disgusting. Replaced that with laminate. And had both showers regrouted, that was necessary. Oh yeah, I got rid of the avocado stove. Repainting makes the biggest difference in how things look, and that part is the most cost effective.

256 It depends on the size of the kitchen and whether you are replacing all the appliances and flooring.
My kitchen was shaped, so no island, hardwood floors so no new flooring and I had a custom carpenter do new cabinet, drawers and door fronts, new hardware and they were already white which was the thing so painters repainted them. New granite and sinks. I worked with builders so had contacts. I had designed the kitchen when I had the house built so all the original stuff was top of the line.
If you have to rip everything out to the studs, yeah, it's going to cost more.

I believe it. Mine cost me 40K, and I did all the work. Here was the breakdown. The cabs were 20K at dealer cost, but with a good amount of bling. No particle board, all wood. I had them made from cherry, so about a 10% upcharge for that. Rollouts in every base cabinet, crown moldings, furniture ends on all exposed sides with the false end doors. Hutch kit on the sink base, box columns and arch at the window. main section is an L shape, 8ft one leg, 15ft the other leg. 8 feet of cabinets on a separate wall, and there is a 72 " island. The granite was $5400, so were at $25,400 just for cabs and granite. Floor was 3K, sink, solid brass faucet, and matching soap dispenser was $1200, appliances were $7500, and then window, floor, and door moldings, electrical and plumbing parts, cabinet door handles, and new lighting. It..is..retarded.

321 I appreciate my sister's spacious kitchen, but most of my adult life, I've had to make due with small galley kitchens in apartments. One thing it forced me to do is become a very organized cook. I don't start until I have every single ingredient lined up on the counter or a table, and everything diced and sliced and peeled and ready to go before I turn on a burner. Frantically standing on a chair trying to find a grater or a spice, with stuff tumbling out of an overcrowded cabinet while things are already cooking was, to coin a phrase, a recipe for disaster.

I would have done that. The cabs I took out were old Quaker Maid. That was some high end shit. Every piece made like fine furniture. I did a lot of refacing during my kitchen years, so it would have been no biggie. My problem was the layout sucked. There was a wall oven, and a cooktop right next to the wall oven. No way to remove that and add the missing cabs, because quaker maid wall cabs are 33" tall, and 12" deep inside. No way to match the existing cabs. The refrigerator enclosure was also too small for the modern refrigerators. Had the lay out been good I would have left those cabs, they were like furniture.

Posted by: Sebastian Melmoth at January 21, 2023 11:51 PM (3gh+6)

I was thinking of doing that. The main problem was the cooktop was so close to the wall oven that you couldn't turn the handles on the pots on the cooktop without them hitting the wall oven cab. The cab under the cooktop was 33", no real problem there since stoves are 30". The other problem was this was all on the 8ft wall, so the stove would have to be right after the corner lazy susan cab, so it would have been a little cramped. then I would have to make up the missing 3" with a 3" section of counter on the wall oven side and a small filler under it. I could have added that on the corner cab and extended the new top, but that would have pushed the new stove right up against the wall oven cab. Not good, flame travel under the pots would have scorched it. I was fucked.

Telebision, I think. Pro tip: most of what is sold as "granite" is not, petrologically speaking, real granite. Polished rock slabs are cold, very heavy, and subject to cracking unless mounted on VERY sturdy bases.

I like, and appreciate rock, but when it comes to counter tops, plastic laminate is the shiznit. Zinc is cool, too.

Posted by: davidt at January 21, 2023 11:26 PM (SYTee)

Telebision, I think. Pro tip: most of what is sold as "granite" is not, petrologically speaking, real granite. Polished rock slabs are cold, very heavy, and subject to cracking unless mounted on VERY sturdy bases.

I like, and appreciate rock, but when it comes to counter tops, plastic laminate is the shiznit. Zinc is cool, too.

Posted by: Alberta Oil Peon at January 22, 2023 12:02 AM (tkR6S)

granite has been around for a while, the problem was it was strictly for the rich. In the very late 80's a granite top for an average kitchen was 15K, and they flew in dudes from italy to cut it. Eventually everybody got in the game and prices came down a shitload to where its almost insane to do any other type of top. A custom formica top in the 80s was close to $700, god knows what it is now, and corian is also stupid expensive, that was $500 a sheet in the 80's and thats not the fab costs. My granite was $5400 because asshole me picked real granite from Brazil, typhoon bordeaux, a level 5 granite. Who knew, so it was $1500 more.

Dunno. But I will say this - Grammi and Grandpa lived in a stone farmhouse atop a mountain with one of the highest concentrations of radon being expressed in the country. The average indoor radon levels of their location is 9.6 pCi/L.

If any radon is emitted, it would be a tiny amount, and it would roll across the countertop, and fall to the floor.

It would be fun to scan some red granite countertops with a scintillometer. The pink potassium feldspar contains a small amount of K40, which is radioactive potassium, and emits gamma rays. Point a scintillometer at an outcrop of red granite and it will usually kick.

432 So I had a kind of obscure problem earlier that I needed to solve.

I was trying to patch files together in groups (which had been previously split) with a program called ffmpeg.

It required a small amount of scripting to get it to sort through all my files in named groups and then patch them in said groups, and I just could not do it. I researched it for about a half hour via search and I couldn't find someone trying to solve the same problem. So I was stuck.

So earlier tonight I explained the problem in natural language to ChatGPT AI ----> and it wrote me the code I needed. I mean it got me 90+% of the way there and I had to play and figure out the rest. But, fucking cool or what? I'm blown away, and I've been predicting this shit for a decade or more.

Its all getting better, but right near the end I couldn't walk near the end of the day. I was working by myself, that was the problem, so I beat the shit out of myself. On that basis, I am welcome at the local VFW Hall.

The best place to have a beer or several inexpensively around good people.

636 Bers, you've written about the house-capades over these many months... I'll bet it's gorgeous. Well done!

Time to slide into that deep tub, filled with hot water and maybe some good old fashioned epsom salt. Soak a while, ya know? Feels good.

Well it is coming out really nice, and it's just about done. I literally have maybe 2-3 days of finishing touches. What I need is a long break. March will be 2 years since the move started, which took 9 months between moving and renovating the old house, which really wasn't needed, but I had a lot of things in the works with the old house when my friend offered me this house, so I had to go through with all the stuff in the old house to finish it. Then I had to renovate this house, so its almost 2 years with no break beating the shit out myself.

645 The first few weeks on centerf!re assembly line nearly killed me... eating ibuprofen like candy, taking hot baths, applying heating pad/ice alternately. Ugh.

Kept getting a kink between my shoulders. Swore I was gonna build a dungeon-style 'rack' to stretch myself out on. Just a little, mind you. Just a tiny bit, that I could control from the victims' area.

Driving is nice, but shooting one....divine!

Hitting a pie plate at 2 miles? (ok, gun thread stuff). Yep.

Best I did in a Brad was a deer at one mile. It went to the local orphanage, in case anyone cares.

656 I get paid over $85 per hour working from home with 2 kids at home. I never thought I'd be able to do it but my best friend earns over 12,000 bucks a month doing this and she convinced me to try. The potential with this is endless. Everybody must try this job on this website.. www.Payathome7.com
