Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | The Morning Report — 1/4/23![]() Here’s the thing: It is precisely the expedient view of “well, this person isn’t my first choice, but he’s the best available option who can win” which has allowed the uniparty to take over and ruin the country. We’re letting the Republicans get away with offering us a false dichotomy: A fake non-choice among candidates who are pre-selected for us. The Democrats did this themselves in 2016 when they stole the primary from Bernie Sanders. You could go even further and say that the two-party system, in addition to preserving systemic stability, has prevented us from having any real say in our own government, except to the smallest extent. The Republicans and Democrats appear like the guard rails on either side of the road they’ve decided we should all be traveling on. I’m sure I’ll be accused of being a shill for the Democrats here, and as far as I’m concerned that’s as credible as being accused of shilling for Russia these days. I’m not suggesting you have to do what I do, either. But I have no intention of supporting a Republican Party that manifestly contravenes the desires of its voters. . . . . . Our best talking-heads and pundits have argued for years that it’s better to win with a bad candidate than to lose with a good one. I used to believe it myself. But look at the results . . . . . . I used to think Republicans were at least a little more restrained in their spending than the Democrats. But now it’s just clear they spend our money on different things: Democrats give our money to welfare infrastructure (and the drug industry). Republicans give our money to the military-industrial complex (and the drug industry). . . . . . Do I think Trump can win as a third-party candidate? No. Would I vote for him as a third-party candidate? Yes. Because I’m not interested in propping up this corrupt gravy-train any longer. There are not enough unprintable words in the dictionary to say everything that statements like McConnell’s conjure up in my mind. But here are a few he might understand: “I’m fed up. And I’m out.”Emphasis mine. It's not just about "To Trump or Not to Trump" at this stage of the game. It's about our old quandary, the choice between the lesser of two evils (and just to be clear I am not referring to Trump v. Whoever). Lesser of two evils doesn't cut it, especially since the distinction between the two is growing less and less distinct and more and more equal with the passing of each election cycle, 2016 notwithstanding. Regardless of the nearly guaranteed fact that even if the Siamese Twin of George S. Patton and Judge Roy Bean was Speaker of the House and Majority Leader, does anyone really think that all of the criminals that rigged 2020, spied on, set up, persecuted and imprisoned scores of Americans who still languish in prison, colluded to silence voices of dissent and used their time in office to amass ill-gotten wealth collectively in the hundreds of millions if not billions at the expense of the American taxpayer and national security are going to wind up in Leavenworth, or on the wrong end of a noose? Now look at Frank Luntz houseboy Kevin McCarthy. There are already reports that if the Democrats had perhaps done the smart thing and gave him the votes he needed to win, he'd have agreed to kneecapping the subpoena and investigatory power of his fellow House GOPers in their attempt to clean up the disgrace of the Democrat-led kangaroo court J-6 committee, among other high crimes, misdemeanors and in point of fact, treasonous acts. So all that said, what's really the difference between McCarthy and perhaps this Hakeem Jeffries stooge? In the grand scheme of things, as the Titanic takes on more and more water, not really a whole hell of a lot. Bread and circuses, except the bread is moldering, and costs five times as much for just half the amount. As for circuses, we've got transexual child rapists everywhere you turn so, to butcher (pun intended) The Who, "put in your earplugs, put on your eye shades, you know where to put – " Paul Pelosi's ball peen hammer. The next line, "We're not gonna take it," remains to be seen. At first, it seemed too absurd to believe. Surely, there must be more to the story than meets the eye. It turns out that what was reported was quite accurate: a Christian pro-life leader in England was arrested not simply for standing in front of an abortion clinic. She was also arrested for the crime of praying while standing there, even though she was simply praying in her own head. Talk about being prosecuted for a “thought crime.” This really and truly happened. In the words of Isabel Vaughan-Spruce, leader of the UK March for Life, “It’s abhorrently wrong that I was searched, arrested, interrogated by police and charged simply for praying in the privacy of my own mind. Nobody should be criminalized for thinking and for praying, in a public space in the UK. . .” . . . It turns out that there are, in fact, Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) zones which protect abortion clinics and other places. And Vaughan-Spruce was prohibited from standing in this particular zone, no matter how peaceful and gracious her presence might be. But, as noted in the official press release from the Alliance Defending Freedom U.K., “The censorship zone measure introduced by Birmingham authorities criminalises individuals percieved to be ‘engaging in any act of approval or disapproval or attempted act of approval or disapproval’ in relation to abortion, including through ‘verbal or written means, prayer or counselling…’.” Accordingly, “Whilst in the police station, Vaughan-Spruce was shown pictures of herself outside the abortion facility. She said she could not recall from the pictures whether she was praying at these specific moments, or whether these had been taken at times that she was distracted and thought about other things, such as her lunch. She maintains that all her thoughts were equally peaceful and imperceptible and that none should be criminalised.” Yes, she was questioned as to whether she had been praying in her own mind. This is not made up. This is not the figment of Christian paranoia. This is what literally took place. . . . . . One month prior, on November 24, in Bournemouth, UK, “Local woman Livia Tossici-Bolt was praying quietly with a friend in a public space when she was warned by local authorities that their prayer could cause ‘intimidation, harassment or distress’, and was asked to move away.” To be clear, I have not been quoting from Orwell’s 1984. To the contrary, not even Big Brother could read our thoughts. Not even The Chinese Communist Party of China can read its people’s minds. Not even Kim Jong-Un of North Korea imprisons alleged dissenters for daring to think a thought. Only God Almighty knows the thoughts of people’s hearts. Of course, the British police didn’t know what Vaughan-Spruce was thinking either, because they had to ask, “Are you praying?” Oh, the crime! Oh, the horror! “Yes, Officer, I confess! I am guilty, so guilty! I might have been praying in my mind!” To repeat: This was not Orwell’s 1984. This was England in 2022. Let that sink in.I wonder what would have happened after the bobby asked Vaughn-Spruce if she were praying, she'd have replied "none of your business." I can only imagine. Yet, what's worse; having to obfuscate or avoid telling the truth or not having the freedom to say out loud exactly what you're thinking. Remember, this is England. The nation that begat Magna Carta, the Enlightenment and ultimately our Founders. No more. Meanwhile, the FBI had the terrorist machete attacker on their "watch list" and did nothing. Nothing except whitewash and water down actual attacks on Jews while engaging in entrapment scam operations that resulted in the January 6th Reichstag Weenie Roast and the Wretched Whitmer kidnapping "plot" wherein two thirds of the plotters were either FBI agents or informants and poor saps who were threatened to go along lest they wind up in a Federal lock up for chewing gum on a Tuesday without a permit. And lest we forget the parent organization of the FBI, the Department of Justice – I just LOL'd and vomited in my mouth a little as I wrote that – which conspired and colluded with the National Association of School Boards and the Oval Office to label parents who protest the mind-, body-, and soul-rape of their children with transexual psychotic perverts and anti-American brainwashing in their schools as "terrorists." Kevin McCarthy = Frank Luntz = Nelson Muntz. And the joke's on us.

Good morning everyone. Thank you J.J.
Saint of the Day St. Elizabeth Ann Seton (1774–1821) was born in New York City to a wealthy, virtuous, and influential family. She married a businessman, and together they lived on Wall Street. They attended an Episcopalian church where Elizabeth was very active in charitable works to the poor. When her father-in-law died, she became like a mother to her husband's six younger siblings, in addition to her own five children. During a trip to Italy she was introduced to Catholicism, and she converted to the Catholic Church following the death of her husband. After losing her family fortune, Elizabeth spent her life working to improve education and provide for the poor, as well as the needs of her family. She established the first Catholic school in the nation, and also founded the Sisters of Charity, the first American religious community. St. Elizabeth Ann Seton was the first native-born citizen of the United States to be declared a saint. She is also the patron of widows and those who have lost parents or children. Her feast day is January 4th. Posted by: Tonypete at January 04, 2023 07:40 AM (qoGsy) 10

I have said it before, and I will say it again. If you are an FBI agent, you are not one of the good guys. You are all part of a corrupt system and your presence enables it. But muh pension! I would rather stomp my boot on 1000 American's necks than sacrifice one dollar of muh pension! Don't worry, I won't stomp my boot on your neck, but I will do another job to free up an agent who will do so with a smile on his face.

JJ and CBD discussed a version of this on their podcast - I don't care if a candidate claimed they killed Bin Laden personally, so long as they were a guaranteed vote against the left. I am done with the GOP on every level. They will never get another vote from me unless the candidate is Donald Trump. This is why I said we have to break the paradigm. Yes, there is already an existing system in place and Trump had already captured the base of the GOPe. However, you still had all of the GOPe candidates. One thing about starting a new party is it would have inherently self selected for who was an actual homer and who was a fair weather fan. Until the new party had managed to actually capture offices, you would only get the hardcore who actually had an issue with how the GOPe does business. Then as the new party gathered strength, the lemmings only interested in the gravy would have started to glom over- but that would tell you something.
There is the whole question of timing and fraud, but that just means you might be trying to solve the wrong problem. Rearranging the deck chairs instead of trying to save the ship and people, to borrow from the prior thread. Posted by: Aetius451AD at January 04, 2023 07:49 AM (CsVWE) 23

I'm not sure the McCarthy dust-up matters as more than a temporary disruption to the system. But the side dramas are interesting, as in Trump's decision to back McCarthy. It points once more to the fact that Trump is a non-revolutionary leader of an aspiringly revolutionary movement that has now overtaken him.

++++ Yes. Once a government becomes like ours (in our case, it's a tyrannical technocracy glued together with bureaucracy, but it can take many forms), it cannot accept unexpected variables in its power structure. They can *probably* deal with those problems, but they'd rather not because the risks are too great if they fail. The *only* meaningful choice that can ever be offered to the subjects is a kind of Hobson's Choice. If this fails - as it did with Trump because he caught them flat-footed and cocksure - they have to work very, very hard to contain the risks. Emphasis mine. It's not just about "To Trump or Not to Trump" at this stage of the game. It's about our old quandary, the choice between the lesser of two evils (and just to be clear I am not referring to Trump v. Whoever).
++++ That has been the false dichotomy. If you have two evil men and one of them is ambitious and the other is lazy, the lazy man is not a lesser evil he is merely a less effective evil. That is the actual historical meaning of the "lesser of two evils" as it applies to American politics. They've been on the same side since at least the fall of the USSR, it's just that one group moves quickly and confidently and the other group is comparatively incompetent. That period ended in 2016. The ambitious and competent in the second group retrenched and elevated themselves out of necessity. The first group - that is, the Democrats - is still more effective and better organized, but the second group - that is, the Republicans - is *just* as sinister. I can think of fewer than 20 names that are exceptions, and they all held firm and caused the abject humiliation of Kevin McCarthy yesterday. They might be the sum total of the exceptions, too, G-d help us. Posted by: Joe Mannix (Not a cop!) at January 04, 2023 08:04 AM (t0OGg) Posted by: fd at January 04, 2023 08:04 AM (iayUP) 70

The *only* meaningful choice that can ever be offered to the subjects is a kind of Hobson's Choice.
------- Yep. Not written to you, but in general. Here's the thing to continually remember: The TEA Party stood up and said "stop" back in 2010, and the same people cut their legs out from under them. "Hobbits" was the term McCain used IIRC. We keep trying and trying, and we keep being reminded that they are not us and are not on our team. They fought our presidential choice, and then fought our president. The Republicans in the Senate had the majority - and security clearances to know the Russia stuff was BS - and still continued on with the fake investigations to damage us and the nation. Mitch passed the Democrat's 2023 funding bill to hamstring our elected House. Their hands are tied for a year of oversight. They can do nothing, with the support of Mitch and the True Republicans. And we're not even getting into the topics of EPA, ATF, FBI, etc. deciding what is law and what isn't, and when the not-law doesn't have to be implemented. I don't think Trump would help the J6 prisoners if he inserted himself into that mess. Trump's voters don't need any persuasion on that score, and Trump isn't capable of persuading people who aren't already on his side at this point. They have just implemented new rules for coding charts for billing. The reason your doctor spends so much time in front of the computer clickety clickety tap tapping is because a ridiculous number of boxes need to be checked for the coders and billers to properly submit the chart for insurance. This is driven by Medicare rules. As of Yesterday, new medicare rules went into effect to simplify charting. I don't work until tomorrow, so I haven't seen what our new charts look like. Supposedly way less clicking and tapping.

A story out of the UK came to light a little over a week ago and, while I wanted to feature it, I gave it short shrift because there were just so many other things going on that kept it on a back burner. Yet, it's terrifying in its implications, let alone in and of itself, because it is exactly where we are headed.
reminded me of this: Jordan Peterson Could Face College Tribunal Over Social Media Posts https://tinyurl.com/36nzxfek Peterson tweeted on Jan. 3, "BREAKING: the Ontario College of Psychologists @CPOntario has demanded that I submit myself to mandatory social-media communication retraining with their experts for, among other crimes, retweeting [Conservative Party leader Pierre Poilievre] and criticizing [Prime Minister Justin Trudeau] and his political allies." The Republicans and Democrats appear like the guard rails on either side of the road they’ve decided we should all be traveling on.
Very good description of what has been going on for years (decades?). I also see this Speaker of the House vote situation as enlightening as the Donald Trump Presidency. The Trump Presidency exposed numerous people on the right as frauds and Deep Staters. This Speaker of the House vote situation is doing the same, in my opinion. Those who are supporting McCarthy, I no longer see as conservatives with the best interest of the American people at heart. Sadly, President Trump is in that camp for me now as well. McCarthy is Deep State. And I will not support anyone supporting the Deep State. As Crenshaw explicitly stated, the Deep State sees us as their enemies. So be it. President Trump used to be anti-Deep State. He was We, The People's candidate and President. But siding with McCarthy, after the Deep State has been exposed for all to see the past 6+ years... I just cannot support anyone who does that. It is LONG past time to take a stand. Posted by: Clyde Shelton at January 04, 2023 08:36 AM (Do5/p) 219

The truth is, no one "paid" his bail. It is a fiction. Sure, it is secured with claims against some assets, but to the extant they are family assets (like, real estate) the presumption is those were originally purchased with looted FTX funds.
Evil is evil, Stregobor. Lesser, greater, middling. It's all the same. I'm not judging you. I haven't only done good in my life either. Prior to COVID, COVID vaccines, all-pervasive medical diagnostic coding and rampant insane amplification on the Internet, cases of sudden death or near-miss sudden death in young athletes were considered rare, but were substantially undercounted. Most were local news stories, and while tragic, did not reach much beyond the local paper. The current reportage is so amped up as to be nearly uninterpretable.
The differential diagnosis (aka list of possibilities) includes hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, underlying dysrhythmia (e.g. WPW, A-fib), myocarditis (of any cause), anomalous coronary artery (Pete Maravich), myocardial infarction (e.g. priior Kawasaki disease), and commotio cordis; as well as non-cardiac events such as asthma or epilepsy. To pronounce any of these as the cause of young Hamlin's collapse without first-hand knowledge and test results is a fool's errand. I have no idea if Hamlin's condition was caused by the vaccine or some other cause but I do know that the pharma/medical industry is as corrupt as they come. I have a lot of respect for some individual doctors including those here but the industry itself is just another part of the government complex at this point.
This is an excellent thread detailing some of the corrupt practices of Pfizer over the last number of years. Pushing untested drugs on people all over the world didn't start with the china virus vaccines. It's been going on for a very longtime and the medical community has abetted it. It's perfectly valid to demand that we get answers on what exactly did happen to Hamlin because the entire world has been used as guinea pigs without consent. https://tinyurl.com/mwfudd38 Posted by: JackStraw at January 04, 2023 09:11 AM (ZLI7S) 365

This "we can't do or say anything for which the Left will criticize or make fun of us" attitude is exactly what Republicans have been doing for decades. The world is a complicated place and questions of science, law, economy, industry, etc. are just too complex in the modern world for the lay person. We need - and are lucky enough to have - groups of experts committed to the public interest. The reason for your discomfiture is your irrational lack of faith and trust in the experts who have the knowledge and capability to guide you toward good decisions. The root premise of your question is incorrect. You don't need to worry about "making well-informed decisions." In fact, it is impossible for *you* to make a well-informed decision. Wasn't it Aaron Rodgers who had the entire MSM and Democrat party against him because he was discussing natural immunity and whether that qualified him medically under the rules of the NFL? Per an acquaintance who works at the Boulder County jail: it was the pot. He said the change was dramatic and they have come from all over the country to CO because they get assistance AND pot. It's impossible to answer, but watching states doing so now might an indicator. Being first will pull a lot of the pot enthusiast element in at high volume. The black market became huge, not small (I don't know why in particular but I understand unintended consequences in general) which defies all predictions by Goth Fonzie. Correlating crime, robbery and murder, also spiked upward. The good news is that your state can't crater as badly as Colorado because you wouldn't be the first to legalize. She's posted events that are different & include a Chinese New Year Senior Citizens food drive and providing information about School Board Training, hosted by Democrats, and how it could be a great way to learn about a plethora of different school board strategies. She ends with, "Remember, ALL of our elected officials work for us. Please check out the details below. But no post-vaccine deaths have anything whatsoever to do with the vaccine and how dare you. Posted by: The shots were safe and effective. Some people got safe, some people got effective. at January 04, 2023 09:31 AM Recall the narrative also states that any adverse reactions within X days of receiving the clot shot were not due to the clot shot, because it did not have enough time to take effect. So any adverse effects during that time period were all attributed to COVID. All the data from Day 1 of the Plandemic is FUBAR. Garbage in, garbage out. There is absolutely nothing that is trustworthy. Even the "cases" were redefined mid-Plandemic. And the "tests" they were doing to determine "cases" were faulty. An actual case started out as "COVID+ test and symptoms". It then morphed into "COVID+ test" only, even if asymptomatic. Posted by: Clyde Shelton at January 04, 2023 09:55 AM (Do5/p) 442

It turns out that what was reported was quite accurate: a Christian pro-life leader in England was arrested not simply for standing in front of an abortion clinic. She was also arrested for the crime of praying while standing there, even though she was simply praying in her own head. Talk about being prosecuted for a "thought crime." This really and truly happened.
Yep, Paul Joseph Watson showed the video of the arrest a week or so ago. https://bit.ly/3WLNeWW Posted by: Clyde Shelton at January 04, 2023 10:29 AM (Do5/p) 445

The US is not headed in the UK's direction it's already there.
What was Trump's crime which led to literal persecution by the FBI and corporate government/business? The Englishwoman is less powerful than the American president but was less attacked than Trump . What of general Flynn, what crime did he commit? Roger Stone,Steve Bannon all attacked for just being employed by Trump.Stone imprisoned and Bannon facing incarceration for thoughtcrime. J6 demonstrators arrested ,imprisoned and still 18 months later waiting for a trial. Apparently some of them have been violently attacked by prison staff for the crime of singing the national anthem. The UK,US,Canada,New Zealand and Australia are all roughly in the same spot. Posted by: Jake Fapper at January 04, 2023 11:10 AM (xmYE5) 448
