Quote II

"This transfers the decision-making over something as basic as when children can play together in a neighbor's yard to the state's child welfare authorities," Diane Redleaf, a long-time family defense lawyer

Quote III

“It’s more like you want the power to force your religious beliefs on to everyone else, and because you don’t have that power, you feel like you’re being silenced. But you’re not. You’re just going have to learn to coexist with all of us. And I’m sure it’s not that hard.” Andrew Hartzler

In a sane world common sense this bastard would be executed immediately. Unfortunately we don't live in a world with common sense.

WASHINGTON (AP) — A Libyan intelligence official accused of making the bomb that brought down Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland, in 1988 in an international act of terrorism has been taken into U.S. custody and will face federal charges in Washington, the Justice Department said Sunday.

The arrest of Abu Agila Mohammad Mas’ud Kheir Al-Marimi is a milestone in the decades-old investigation into the attack that killed 259 people in the air and 11 on the ground. American authorities in December 2020 announced charges against Mas’ud, who was in Libyan custody at the time. Though he is the third Libyan intelligence official charged in the U.S. in connection with the attack, he would be the first to appear in an American courtroom for prosecution.

The New York-bound Pan Am flight exploded over Lockerbie less than an hour after takeoff from London on Dec. 21, 1988. Citizens from 21 different countries were killed. Among the 190 Americans on board were 35 Syracuse University students flying home for Christmas after a semester abroad.

Any other American hating, anthem kneeling lesbos out there that need to be released from prison?

Wow. Even contributors to 'Commentary' are getting fed up with the Republican Party.

It doesn’t seem like Dhillon’s challenge to the RNC’s leadership will succeed. Maybe that’s just as well, seeing as it doesn’t sound like much within the organization would change if she did succeed. That’s just how the RNC seems to like it. It’s less a committee now, Republican or otherwise. It’s more like a club. The tragedy here is that Republican voters really do have policy preferences. Moreover, they really do want to see those preferences enacted by their elected representatives because they believe security and prosperity depend on it. The committee doesn’t care about those preferences enough even to write them down, much less course correct to ensure that they might one day become law.

If this social organization has a primary function, it is the preservation of the sinecures it provides party elites. Ensuring its continued existence is predicated upon your willingness to keep writing checks. It’s no coincidence that cashing checks is one of the few core functions at which the RNC remains quite adept.

Twitter? Never heard of it!

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — In the aftermath of the second wave of what have come to be known as the "Twitter Files" — in which documented evidence is presented that Twitter engaged in systematic practices to suppress and "shadowban" conservative or otherwise dissenting accounts, despite previous claims to not do so — co-founder and former CEO Jack Dorsey has issued a defiant statement that he has, in fact, never heard of Twitter.

"I have no comment on, and indeed, no knowledge regarding anything known as a ‘Twitter,'" Dorsey said. "Any claims to the contrary are untrue and a wholesale misrepresentation. The previous statements attributed to me regarding ‘shadowbanning,' while made by me, were simply not made by me."

Perhaps CNN will ask the question, " Did he die from the Kung Flu prick?

Prominent American journalist Grant Wahl has died in Qatar after collapsing while covering the World Cup, sparking an outpouring of shock and grief across the sports world. He was 49.

He “collapsed” while covering Friday’s Argentina-Netherlands match, a witness told CNN.

Qatar’s World Cup organizers said on Saturday that Wahl “fell ill” in the press area, where he received “immediate medical treatment on site.” He was then transferred to Hamad General Hospital, said a spokesperson for the Supreme Court Committee for Delivery and Legacy, the body responsible for planning the tournament.

No. Curiosity in journalism died several decades ago.

I don't know what the weather is like where you live. Currently, we are in day 3 of gloom. Not sure how a solar electric car would work here.

The world’s first solar car has begun production—a 4-5 passenger EV that hails a new chapter in automotive history.

The Dutch company Lightyear officially commenced assembly of its first vehicle, aptly titled ‘Lightyear 0’, becoming the first automotive firm to manufacture an electric vehicle that generates a realistic amount of charge via sunlight.

Taking advantage of as much body space as possible with their 5 curved solar arrays totaling 53 square feet, the Lightyear 0 (formerly the Lightyear One; see more pics here) charges wherever there is daylight, whether parked or on the move

The ONT awards an "A" for creativity.

A prankster fed up with navigating a hole in their street has spruced it up for the festive period.

A resident of a Derbyshire town planted the Christmas tree in the middle of roadworks they say have been left unfinished for half a year.

The route was dug up for repairs to the water system, leaving a gap in the street with fencing surrounding it.

Now someone living on Elliot Drive in Inkersall has decided to make the best out of a bad situation.

As we approach the end of the year: Let's take a look at promising breakthroughs of 2022.

Today, The Atlantic reveals its inaugural 10 Breakthroughs of the Year. The accomplishments span every station of life, from birth to death, and every component, from our cells to the stars. They include a drug that revives the organs of dead animals; an embryo created without sperm or egg; a telescope to see the universe’s first moments; and an AI that conjures award-winning art.

One theme of this year’s list is the principle of “twin ideas”—the tendency for major breakthroughs to have more than one author. The telegraph was invented by Charles Wheatstone and Samuel Morse in the same year, 1837, and patents for the telephone were filed by Elisha Gray and Alexander Graham Bell on the same day in 1876. Accordingly, many of this year’s breakthroughs are group efforts rather than individual awards. We didn’t just get one mind-blowing generative AI app this year; we got several in the span of a few months. We didn’t just get one “unheard-of” cancer breakthrough; we got several in one year. In this golden age of new vaccine technology, many different companies are building off the success of the COVID shots to deliver new antiviral weaponry for humankind.

Spare time + phone= Genius Award Winner.

An elderly Japanese man was recently arrested after calling a police precinct 2,060 times in nine days to yell at the staff there and call them “tax thieves” and “big stupid a-holes”.

Between September 30th and October 8th, the 67-year-old man from Saitama Prefecture called the Prefectural Police Headquarters a total of 2060 times to yell at the staff there and tell them that they should all be fired. That’s an average of one call for every six minutes and a total talk time of around 27 hours over the nine-day interval. Eventually, police raided the man’s house and arrested him on the ground of obstructing police business. He admitted to the charges and said: “I knew the police would come for me someday”.

No, it is because we ARE being silenced. "We" never exerted force (even when "we" had that power), that is why the leftists had a voice, they were NOT silenced. Now the left Is Exerting Force to push their (BS/Lies) religion of Wokeness.

Same as it ever was ... pretend to be fair till you have enough power to end all fairness and exert totalitarian control by force. "They" got there by their color revolutions, and it continues.

56 More model building lessons learned.

Yes the 1/48 Eduard F-4F-3 Wildcat is pretty nice to build. But there are possible sticking points to be wary of. Early releases of the ProfiPack kit 82201 have an errata sheet for a couple steps. Good on Eduard trying to fix things but that is not the end of stumbling blocks.

Page 9 is where the arresting hook M19 is installed. Eduard only provides the stub end and because this is so short it is easy to miss the bracket Eduard molded inside so the hook will feel loose.

Page 10 has three issues to trip the builder up. The radio mast N9 needs to go immediately behind the canopy while navigation light A26 goes behind the life raft storage compartment. My copy has these parts reversed. Next two are engineering issues with the kit, to install the machine gun barrels and pitot tube they must be slipped into the wing. But there are no stops built in so it is easy to slide a barrel in and watch the wing swallow it up.*

So be warned fellow model builders. Take your time ne?

*The gentleman reviewing this kit for Fine Scale Modeler had the wing swallow up a gun barrel. So I am not the only one to suffer this.

I watched an RT interview with the freed Russian.

I gotta admit, I'd have a beer with the guy. He likes America and laments how the country has gone downhill.

Spoke on the craziness of the 72 genders they were teaching kids in school, the loss of Christian faith, and said he enjoyed talking with 'rural people' while in American prison, says he's not sure what rural Americans and Russians would even argue about or why they would be enemies.

I think he actually likes America more than Griner, in spite of being locked up for what he claims are bogus charges.

The Russians apparently have a great affinity for women's basketball and have the highest paying women's league in the world.

Ah ha, no. Big Borzoi coats inevitably acquire mats that have to be painstakingly combed out. Dan has a massive Swedish coat that he inherited from his great-great-grandfather Birk, which tangles so easily I dare not turn a dryer on him. Val has a flat English coat that acquires garbage like twigs and leaves. Finn's coat is actually correct and his was the easiest to clean up.

377 On Friday Ace posted some spectacular, to me, AI generated artwork. I have been mulling them over since then and how this will impact the arts. To date the great works, be it literature, music, or art, can be thought of as masterpieces of singularity. AI upends this and is demonstrating that we are on the cusp of masterpieces of ubiquity and it is yet to be seen how this changes how art is valued. Possibly the greatest talent of the best artists is an ability to reinvent a particular domain and send it careening off in new directions. Picasso is such an example as Louis Armstrong or Shakespeare.
So far AI art is replicating or synthesizing existing styles. What is wholly unclear to me is if the ability to redefine art is within the ability of AI and is a dimension of this revolution that has my attention. In a different direction it seems obvious that singular masterpieces will only become more valuable as AI art commoditizes the artistic disciplines with its technology. Again, what is not clear is if a class of these AI works will come to be viewed as singular masterpieces whose novel characteristics will be the underlying technology, algorithms, and those who invented them.

Horses are big and I don't understand them. I couldn't tell if one was happy, or mad, if I had to. What do they do if they like you, or if they don't? I'm way to brittle to even attempt to interact with one now.
I did ride on one as a tween, bareback behind someone else. I ended up with a raw spot on my butt about the size of silver dollar. It hurt for days. That's all I have to say about that.

Posted by: Alberta Oil Peon at December 11, 2022 11:53 PM (tkR6S)

The P codes on the headstamp are an indicator, a lot of the occupied countries' ammunition had one of those codes. Still mike the cartridge against the databases to be sure, there are some odd hunting cartridges out there and the Austrians had odd ideas about prototype cartridges too.

Soap and water will take the corrosive salts out of the bore, not a problem. Also Ballistol was issued to clean corrosive primers. It works a treat on black powder too.
I wouldn't worry too much about those primers unless you are shooting some spendy rifle

Ammo is probably still useful unless it was left in someone's attic for 70 years.

Back in the 90's, an off-shoot of an actual Army horse patrol that roamed the SoCal foothills during WWII after Pearl Harbor due to the fear of invasion of the west coast. After the war, though the original unit disbanded, it was maintained as a youth program to instill military horsemanship and drill procedures as a unit which the kids all trained up on to compete against other units to see who had the best drill teams. Remember, there were kids as young as 9 years years old atop of 1200 lbs horses with some 13 year old screaming "Troop quarter right!!" "Troop quarter LEFT!" All the horses turning in time...breast to breast.."Troop to the FORWARD"....TROOP HALT!

490 Hubby lurves him some candied yams. This year was the first time I used fresh instead of canned. I made the dish just for him as I never really cared for it... until now.

Never going back to the mushy canned crap!

493 Debby-- I love snow! Except for driving in it, that is...

I enjoy the quiet, the covering-up of unsightly views, the freshness of the air!

Reminds me of fun times when I was a child.

496 JQ, I was appalled by the weird little chunks that came out of the can of yams. I'll definitely make candied yams from scratch next time. Only takes a bit more time.

501 Yeah Miley, canned chunks of mush. Never again.

I peeled and sliced them about half-inch thick, parboiled a few minutes, then butter/ brown sugar/ marshmallows. Turned out great, although powerfully sweet.

504 I'm slowly getting in the festive mood. I got a hell of a shot of getting the last room in the house operational for the holidays. The dreaded family room is almost cleared. I'll be able to put the big tree up. Mrs B is chomping at the bit to decorate it. Thank god that room doesn't need anything other than a top to bottom cleaning since it was the work room for all the renovations. It was the first to get painted when we started moving in. I think by tomorrow it will be pretty much cleared out.

505 Awesome, Bers!

Won't it be nice to finally just sit back and enjoy the fruit of your labor?

506 Bers, I hope that you and Mrs. B have a very Merry Christmas. I can't wait to have all of my kids home, it has been a few years. I still have some cleaning to do, but I'm getting there. I am enjoying a well wrapped whiskey too.

Well for a little bit anyway. I got a few small odds and ends and touch ups to do, but after that I'm not doing anything until spring. The main bath still mocks me.

I'm trying. I told all the harley shops to pretend I'm dead until after the holidays. I'm officially in christmas mode.

Well, processing for this canning run of sweet 'taters is almost over. It's 90 minutes at 10psi. We did them in the light syrup recipe. You can do a brown sugar syrup as well, but we didn't have enough on hand. May get some and do the next batch with that.

517 Bringing in cash online is more than $15k by simply accomplishing straightforward work from home. I got $18376 last month. It's a simple and basic task to take care of and its income are obviously superior to normal office occupations and, surprisingly, a small kid can do this and bring in cash.
