Whenever You Feel Like Criticizing Any One, Just Remember That All The People In This World Haven't Read The ONTs That You Have

Thursday night! It's a good night to go out with a girl. Here's a tip on how to set the right tone for the date.

Ha! Now They've Got NOTHING On Us!

Americans are nicer than Canadians, airplane etiquette survey reports

Not so nice after all, eh?

Canadians are inconsiderate travelers — even more so than those boisterous, barefooted Americans, if you can believe it. The verdict comes from an Expedia airplane etiquette survey, which ranked each nationality in terms of their travel manners.
Don’t let that seemingly non-stop barrage of viral videos featuring ugly Americans fool you — because the US earns high marks across the board for friendly flying.

Canadians upon hearing the news:

How Leftists Think

Was the brutal attack on me in my home just bad luck?

So this woman and her family were attacked in their home by a knife wielding manic. She recounts how her husband was desperately holding the bedroom door shut as the criminal thrust his knife through it (and where was your gun lady? If someone is thrusting a knife through my bedroom door, I guarantee you I'd be sending a bunch of little presents back their way). Thankfully they survived, and the man, who she readily admits was mentally ill, was arrested. He died in prison.

So, after describing the terrible attack, and identifying that the attacker was mentally ill, she spends the rest of article speculating without a single shred of evidence offered, (not so much as a dog eared copy of Sarah Palin's autobiography in his possession) that the man may have been motivated by antisemitism fostered by “right-wing hate mongers” such as...Tucker Carlson.

It's insane. She can't just have been unlucky enough to cross paths with a psycho, no, she has to spin it all out into a larger conspiracy theory, one targeted at her because of her in-group identity, one than makes her not just the victim of a crime but a victim of a grand intrigue and nefarious plot.

It's a psychosis.

Informative Article

The Real Story Behind Drag Queen Story Hour

If you've wondered to yourself “Where did this perversion come from?”, this is an excellent article for you. It traces the history of DQSH back to its roots. It's not as had to understand as you might think, it's the same old sewer of leftist filth that Marxists base their movement on, one that should be exceedingly familiar by now.

But the spirit of drag is predicated on the transgressive sexual element and the ideology of queer theory, which cannot be erased by switching the context and softening the language. The philosophical and political project of queer theory has always been to dethrone traditional heterosexual culture and elevate what Rubin called the “sexual caste” at the bottom of the hierarchy: the transsexual, the transvestite, the fetishist, the sadomasochist, the prostitute, the porn star, and the pedophile. Drag Queen Story Hour can attempt to sanitize the routines and run criminal background checks on its performers, but the subculture of queer theory will always attract men who want to follow the ideology to its conclusions.

Same old intersectionality garbage. Define what's normal as “oppressive” and seek to overthrow it by elevating the fringe – in this case sick perversions like child porn, child sex and bestiality – over the healthy normal. It's the same post-modern excrement that the communist uses to justify their opposition to the free market or the totalitarian uses to explain their desire to eradicate liberty.

If you're interested in that kind of stuff, I urge you to read the article. It isn't pleasant, but you'll understand the why and the how of every anti-western movement out there.

These 15 Secular Christmas Songs Deserve the Death Penalty

The author hates secular Christmas songs. I prefer religious carols myself, but also enjoy some secular songs. To me it's the difference between the (religious) reason for the season and the (cultural) spirit of the season. There's room for both in my world. That's not to say all secular songs are worthy of a listen, the horrid “Christmas Shoes” (which didn't make the list for some odd reason) should be consigned to the depths of a black hole, for example, but many are fun. What songs would you add to the list?

Remember The Utah!

Yesterday was the anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. Here's an interesting article about the “forgotten” battleship that sank that day, USS Utah, and ongoing efforts to identify remains so they can be returned to their kin for proper honor and burial.

Nebraskan among 54 sailors still entombed in Pearl Harbor's 'Forgotten Ship'

Not A Good Trend

Older people are increasingly living alone. That's not good for any of us

The strong sense of community previous generations experienced has largely been replaced by a false sense of togetherness in the form of social media and other online pursuits. In general, society may feel more connected, but reality shows that's not the case. Spending time alone is on the rise for all people aged 15 and older. And like the increase in those 50 and older who live alone, this broad type of loneliness started increasing well before the pandemic.

None of these factors make for a cheerful report. If anything, they serve as a reminder that family is our most valuable asset, children are good, and fostering a sense of actual community, not just its online substitution, is necessary for a healthy culture. For too long, the message has been that independence and career achievement should be prized most of all. There is nothing wrong with establishing one's individual identity or advancing in a chosen field. But these things pale in comparison to the rich physical, mental, and emotional rewards of bonds with friends and family.

This is another place where understanding the philosophy behind things is helpful in understanding what may seem on the surface to be undesirable outcomes are actually intended. In a socialistic worldview, elderly are a drag on society. They are done being productive, and now take out of the system without putting anything back. Where is the percentage in paying for hips, coronary bypasses, or cancer treatment for individuals who aren't working and “contributing” anymore? (Wisdom, experience, and yes, even love, don't count) If such individuals are isolated and lonely, it's easier to ease them into the great beyond than to support them. Weakening or destroying the traditional nuclear and extended family makes this easier to accomplish. Think I'm talking crazy talk? Euthanasia is now the 6th leading cause of death in Canada. Say, does anyone remember how they mocked Sarah Palin for “death panels”? Good times, good times.

48 SSI destroyed the generational pact where parents raised children, and then the children were obligated to care for their parents.

The greatest benefit of this is that the elderly have much wisdom and are also essential for child care for the grandkids.

Why is birthrate dropping? Well, we are no longer part of families and don't see the family as an essential purpose in life. And raising kids without the grandparents around to help out is hard.

Thanks FDR - you commie cripple megalomaniac prick.

Tell me if this is a bad idea, hordelings.

I've considered organizing a Drag Queen Story Hour at the local church and target marketing it at very liberal places like the local Universalist Unitarian church and other left organizations.

But at the event, I want my pastor to show up to read them stories from the Bible, in lieu of the drag queen.

And perhaps I might video the melt down.

I haven't run this by my Pastor, and I highly doubt he would do it, because he's a good man and not a life troll like me. But it still seems to me like a good idea.

VERY Legal. Ohio Ordnance marketed M-1917 & M-1919 pattern, semi-auto "clones" of their full auto brethren. They also had a .50 BMG of the Browning M-2.

Bonus: The attachment that operates the trigger from a hand-cranked wheel with a four-cam lobe to fire four round with every rotation of the handwheel? LEGAL ATF ruled that it operates the trigger four separate times, so it's not firing more than one round with a single trigger operation. They make those to fit Ruger 10/22s on up to damn near whatever you can imagine.

160 I used to get so tired of the strictly secular Xmas music the radio stations would over play in December. Then 5-6 years ago I started noticing I was hearing almost no Christmas music at all. Luckily I found the Christian music station and they filled the void nicely. I can't take too much of it the rest of the year though.

I'll say this about my family, even we're about evenly split between liberals and conservatives, we manage to mostly steer clear of political conversations, and we don't get into arguments.I credit my parents who tended to avoid confrontation. Justin Trudeau...dude, hate to say, but you should go to your bunker now.

She had an affair with him that's for certain. But the dates she with with him don't exactly match up for Justin's conception.

Since I am still learning the roadways here at the new AO, I was using Waze to get up to Wartburg. Waze took me through, and I mean directly through, Catoosa Wildlife Mgnt Area. By the time I realized what was going on, it was too late. Twenty miles of one land forest 'roads' that were only mean for 4x4s with deep ruts and hairpin turns up and down the mountains. And you know how it's been raining the past few days. My little Toyota cried the entire time but at least we didn't get stuck in the muddy ruts.

Define what's normal as “oppressive” and seek to overthrow it by elevating the fringe – in this case sick perversions like child porn, child sex and bestiality – over the healthy normal. He said the algorithm won't route motorcycles onto dirt roads. He also said what throws off Waze is that all those forest fire trails and roads is that they have official names. Sure enough, when I looked at paper maps later, the dashed roads through the wilderness had real names.

TBH, the old price was an anomaly. I think that store had a really bad manager in charge of setting prices (it's a chain) and before they went to electronic tags a few prices were surprisingly low.

This slow reveal that gives even people who have no idea what Twitter actually is which is a large segment of the country is much more effective even if it is a bit slow for those of us who want it all at once. He has said he will do that; I think this tool will be an extra safeguard to make sure none of his underlings in the future can reimpose such a thing without getting caught. The worst thing about the shadowbanning was that twitter was set up in a way to make the practice completely invisible to anyone except the people who were doing it.

But I'd still love to have one just to vapor-lock the gun grabber types. They would not know why it scares them into puddles, while not actually having any of the evil, evil, evil features!

What really screws 'em up also, is a nice blue steel & walnut Remington 7400, all Elmer Fudd'ed up.

And then with some cordless drivers, in under 10 min., turn it into an Evil Black Rifle, w/ AR grip & stock, black fore-end, tatical optic, barrel shroud & 20 round RamLine magazine.

I love twisting their minds into circles, it's cheap and easy sport!

Posted by: Weirddave at December 08, 2022 11:28 PM (62hA9)

350 There are many many workarounds to the idiotic (and unconstitutional) CA "assault rifle" law. It's all about the "features" on a rifle.

Can't have a flash-hider!!! LOL. Who uses those? So you put on a brake or a whatever and you're good. No vertical fore-grip!!! OK so angled fore-grip, plus most seem to prefer not even that much. Fixed length stock!! OK so a nothingburger, or you if you want you can make adjustable stocks "fixed" with a screw/wingnut (easily adjustable).

No pistol grip!! The only actually relevant/annoying restriction. And there are many easy workarounds.

But lately I've seen more and more guys coming to the range with "non-compliant" rifles. When asked about it, they just DGAF. It's funny. Many first-time customers ask if they can use non-compliant rifles - "we only enforce our own safety-related rules, not laws, especially idiotic laws" is the standard response. And several of the "feature" restrictions can be defeated with changeable/adjustable things right there at the bench, then "restored" before leaving the range.

386 So here's a funny story. About 2 1/2 to 3 months ago I started getting a TPM (tire pressure monitor) malfunction message on my car. It wouldn't reset either. I looked at all my tires, they look fine, none are low, I figured "I've lived 40 years without a TPM system I'll just get it fixed when I get the oil changed." The other day the right rear tire looked a little low so I pulled into the local tire shop and said hey can I borrow your hose? I started to fill up the tire and the air start hissing right back out of the top of it as fast as I put it in there. There's a pretty big hole right where the sidewall meets the tread. So I went home and grabbed a spare tire (I have a spare set from when my last car was totaled), And I took it back to have them mount it. While they were mounting it, they noticed the TPM sensor in the tire was destroyed. The guy said it might've happened when the tire was damaged. They replace the sensor, mount the tire and Bob's your uncle. I reset the TPM system, it worked fine. Which means that I may have been driving on a flat tire for almost 3 months. And I never noticed. Seriously even at 70/75 it drove fine. I guess runflat tires really do work.

409 Runflat tires are a huge conspiracy to deprive you of a costly, weight-adding spare by equipping the car with expensive, low-wearing, poor handling pieces of shit that blow apart at the first big pothole.
Posted by: Cicero (@cicero43) at December 08, 2022 11:48 PM (Qzn2/)

Heh. I have an old Jeep Grand Cherokee in the side yard here. Myself and a friend are partners in it as a parts car. It was sitting on 3 flat tires, and one that still held a little air. I wanted to get it up on 4 wheels so it could be rolled and moved. Aired up the one intact tire. Seems to be OK. I can live with slow leaks in the day/week time frame for this. There was one tire on a rim in the cargo space, completely flat, but it looked intact. It aired up OK, so it went on the car. I now had 3 Jeep wheels with destroyed tires. Took them to a local tire shop, and for 30 bucks he demounted the tires and disposed of them. He would not mount the two loose tires that I had hoarded, though; said they were too old and crusty. I may have a go at mounting them myself with pry bars. 15" tires aren't too hard to work with.

That won't work on most of the Supercars. Dedicated tires, per corner. Reason being, they're not just sized "Front or Rear", but they're also layed up in the mold and with tread patterns that are unidirectional. Like a motorcycle tire, they're meant to rotate at speed in the forward direction only, and have that arrow molded into the sidewall.

Expensive replacements, those.

They're also good for maybe 10,000 miles each.

That's what they don't tell you about "performance" tires. The extra grip comes from softer rubber. So they wear down much faster than normal tires, and most people don't grasp that because usually cheap tires wear faster than more expensive tires and performance tires are expensive. Unless you are an actual competitive racer where the tiny grip difference might make the edge that makes you win, or money is no object to you so its worth it for boasting purposes, you probably shouldn't spring for "performance" tires cause you won't notice the difference in legal driving really.

Goes way further on the Supercar tires. Those steel belts become the *first moving part* in the suspension system. They're laid and wound in pattern that the tire will only bend THIS way and only squirm THAT way, so as to maintain maximum contact patch to the road, in most all conditions. And the unidirectional treads move water out to the side and away from the car, and also only squirm and move in one desirable manner. Not cheap to make, buy or replace.

As for the ride, I don't notice much difference. I put regular tires on my 318 once when I didn't have the money for runflats and it didn't ride any different.

*Thats why I have a spare set at home. I got rear ended in my last car and it damaged the car's computer so they totaled it out. I had just put a new set of tires on and I said fuck that and went and bought a cheap set of used tires and swapped them out before they towed it to the junkyard. Came in handy.

Like having your own private F-16 to fly around the same as your Cessna. It made more sense when rich people showed off by having luxury cars with bespoke bodywork.
