Seems to be more of a red herring than anything else. Posted by: Speller at November 15, 2022 12:09 PM (pSotA) ++++ Or a false flag. There is a fair amount of that throughout history. When the Soviets tried to nuke Hawaii, they used subs and closer-than-needed range and surfaced them before firing when they didn't need to, because they were trying to impersonate Chinese subs. So why use surface ships when you have better tools available (if that's what happened)? US Warships sometimes turn their AIS off if the situation warrants it.
One time when Little VIA was returning to Norfolk on the Carrier, I texted him to tell hi exactly where he was, and finally not only the correct pier, but which side to the pier and bow out. US Carriers take tugboats in a specific location on the ships hull. And Tugboats don't turn AIS off, even if the Carrier has theirs off. Just find the tugs, in that distinct pattern, with an empty AIS hole in the middle of them. And there you are. Posted by: Village Idiot's Apprentice at November 15, 2022 12:15 PM (1n+EO) 75

It would be child's play for most any oceanic research vessel to conduct a quality examination of the damaged pipelines and the seafloor around those areas.
Simple grid search, high-resolution ROV cameras, and assume a "fish" equipped with articulated mechanical arms and retrieval baskets. I.D. suspicious debris which might be bomb-casings, trigger devices or other bits which are *not* pipeline parts. But do bring up some shattered pipeline fragments, especially those with readily apparent blast damage. There'll be a lot of forensic evidence in the debris, and they wouldn't even have to send a diver down to fetch it. Question then would be: WHO is going to sort through the debris, and (maybe?) tell the truth about what was found? And that's where the doubt surfaces, right along with the debris itself. Nations capable of doing that espionage underwater using submarines and hi tech would be the US, Russia, UK, and probably China.
Think we can rule out Russia as it removes their leverage on Germany. It would be a very bold act by China to do it and piss off their major gas supplier to boot. So US or UK if underwater submarine tech was used. If surface ships, then to the usual suspects throw in Poland as the explosion happened after a new pipeline from Norway gas fields went active. Sweden, Germany, Russia, US, UK, France, Chinese, Israelis, mebbe Poland if not involved probably know who did this as all of them have competent intel services. Bloomberg reports that seized Russian superyachts are sitting at ports all over and running into money pits. And taxpayers may be the ones opening their wallets to maintain them. It looked like we were sticking it to the Russians without actually getting involved in the war. But in the months since the invasion began, the superyachts are turning into floating money pits. Trump encourages allies to back McCarthy
https://tinyurl.com/47h9r3z3 Former President Donald Trump has been privately encouraging allies to support McCarthy's bid for House speaker, according to two sources familiar with the effort, believing that the California Republican will be an asset down the road should the former president find himself in a contested 2024 primary. Trump reaffirmed his support for McCarthy's leadership bid in an interview with Fox News last week and he has since been working the phones to persuade Republican allies to back him, particularly conservative members who remain skeptical of McCarthy. "The strategy is to protect McCarthy from blame because [Trump] needs him for his presidential run," said one Trump adviser. Trump has been eager to lock up public support from Republicans for his third presidential bid, with a separate GOP source saying he has been asking to see which GOP lawmakers have endorsed him in the media. Marjorie Taylor Greene breaks with far-right allies on McCarthy challenge
https://tinyurl.com/yckr4zdk "I actually think that's a bad strategy when we're looking at having a very razor-thin majority, with potentially 219 [seats], we're talking about one vote," Greene said on Steve Bannon's "War Room" podcast in response to reports of a speaker challenge by House Freedom Caucus member Rep. Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.). "We've already been through two years where we saw Republicans - Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger — cross over and join the Democrats and produce a Jan. 6 committee," Greene said. "The danger is this, do we want to watch a challenge for Speaker of the House simply because the 'Never Kevin' movement - just like we've seen a 'Never Trump" movement - do we want to see that challenge open the door to Nancy Pelosi handing the gavel to Liz Cheney?" Posted by: whig at November 15, 2022 12:55 PM (CXr4y) ++++ Heh. I was referring to my favorite conspiracy theory of all time. After the Panic of 1907 (when JP Morgan bailed out the US), a bunch of people were terrified over what happened and knew they got lucky with JPM doing what he did. Many of them - JPM among them - advocated for the formation of the Federal Reserve System to avoid that problem in the future. There was wide support among the financiers and government, but not full support. Many people with actual influence and money - chiefly Guggenheim and Astor - were staunchly opposed to the concept and torpedoed various attempts to implement it. The conspiracy theory goes that the financiers arranged to have the Titanic sink in order to get rid of Guggenheim, Astor and a a few others. With them dead, the opposition power base collapsed and the Federal Reserve boosters had smooth sailing (pardon the phrasing) and implemented it the next year. Diplomatically, there are reports that Putin has been “offered surrender terms by the West,” although “surrender” is too strong a word.
• Plan would see Russia give up all territory in Ukraine except Crimea, which would become demilitarised zone. • In return, Putin and cronies would avoid war crimes prosecution and remain in power, Valery Solovey claimed. This would be a peace deal — not a surrender of Russian forces, occupation of Moscow, or anything like that. Posted by: SMOD at November 15, 2022 01:10 PM (RHGPo) 415

From what I am hearing, the political calculus for Trump appears to be this. Peel McCarthy off from Ryan and McConnell and make McConnell take the fall for the fucked up midterms. McCarthy is also to blame, but his fingerprints are less obvious.
Since McCarthy has only the slimmest majority, let him take the seat but force him to give authority to the Freedom Caucus to investigate things that will help Trump, such as Biden corruption and election theft. McCarthy is viewed as slime, but someone who can be pressured to do what they want. McConnell is deep state and will use the deep state to take people down. So the time to get him out and replace with Rick Scott is now. Pay attention to who get the #2 spot in the Senate, if it isn't Thune, then McConnell is going to retire next year after the KY Gov election. For everyone saying Russia couldn't have done it, because it hurt them, you need to rethink. (This is someone else's argument, I don't remember whose.)
The question is whether it was good for Putin. He would certainly do things - has done many things - that are very bad for Russia, as long as they help him keep power. What does this do for Putin? Lots of oligarchs and regime biggies want to go back to the status quo ante bellum, get off the sanctions list, visit their Italian villas, and sail their yachts around without worrying they'll be confiscated. Until the pipelines were blown up, they could have done that. Depose or kill Putin, withdraw the Russian army from Ukraine, stop bombing Ukrainian cities, turn the NS1-2 gas back on so the Germans don't freeze, and NATO will be so grateful they might not even insist on reparations. Now they can't turn the gas pipeline back on, so turning back the clock isn't an available option. I don't know whether Putin blew up the pipelines, but he's a plausible suspect. Of course no one except the perpetrators knows for sure who did it. Similarly, no one knows who killed Daria Dugina. Too many plausible suspects.
