DEAR ANNIE: I am very sad and hurt because my son and his wife will not let me see my four grandkids. This all started after we got together on the Fourth of July. My son and daughter-in-law and their children came to my home to celebrate the holiday. They have four little kids, and we only live 45 minutes apart. I love my grandchildren, and if it were up to my son, they would visit more often and stay longer. But as it is, they had rarely visited me. (Several paragraphs of blather which leads to..........) It was only later that I found out why my daughter-in-law and son had not come home. They took the baby to the emergency room, and they were told the baby had meth in her system. She is 1 1/2 years old. They said she got hold of something in my house that had meth on it, and she must have put her hands in her mouth. They had told the neighbor they were going to the ER but swore her to secrecy. I felt doubly hurt that they would open up to a neighbor and not say anything to me, the baby’s grandmother.While she is asking if she is a Genius Award Winner, we definitely have one here.......

Start with a fatty cut of stew meat (tallow is good). Brown thoroughly with pepper and salt or a good seasoning like Tony's, reduce heat and add onions (about 1/2 as beef and a tablespoon or so of minced garlic). In a separate pan, make a roux of flower and butter or oil. Deglaze beef pan with a red wine, about two cups for a dinner for two. Add beef broth about double the volume of beef/onions. Add herbs. Easy is an italian blend.
Simmer until beef is near fork tender. Add potatoes and carrots in equal portions to beef. Simmer until potatoes and carrots are near fork tender. Add roux to thicken, by adding broth to roux to thin, then back into stew. Thicken as desired. Add a bit of tomato paste or tomato sauce until you get that beef stew color you desire. Simmer until veggies and meat are fork tender.
Timing is the key between beef doneness and veggie doneness. You can overcook the beef, but you don't want to undercook the veggies. Season to taste. Enjoy.

2020 was a close election, despite the magnitude of the cheat, it was done the old fashioned way (mostly, we all argued this last night) by old fashioned ballot stuffing. Even with that, the election was determined by a total of about 100,000 votes nationwide.
The fundamentals, and the electoral landscape are much different this year. This will not be a close election. I spent most of 2020 posting "this worries me" and "this gives me optimism". I'm not doing that this year.
I am worried about a total of 2 races, PA and MI governor, all others are done. The Democrats have 0% chance of holding the House and Senate. There are already enough decided seats in both chambers to give the GOP the majority in states the Dems can't cheat in.
If Murray loses in WA (which I think is still low probability) it will be because the GOP are taking 55 seats.

Before that they bet on HR 1 for federal takeover of elections. They lost that bet too.
They only thing they could have done is found some way to cancel or alter the conduct of elections, but it is too late for that.
So where we stand is that among the swing states, only Nevada and Pennsylvania did not clean up their election process. But the candidates in both states are leading by more than cheating at 2020 levels can overcome, and the absentee ballot pool (where the cheating occurs) is much smaller this year.
But we will see.

I was reading some comments on the election by left leaning LIVs today and one struck me.
The woman wanted to vote to "protect abortion rates" but didn't want to vote for someone that wanted to start a war with Russia.

The correct response to unconstitutionally (that is the correct term btw) cast ballots is to reject them from the canvas and not count them. The person who cast that ballot does not get punished.
This was Trump's mistake in 2020. While everyone was looking at Dominion, the canvas was quietly closed and the fraudulent ballots went into the count.

In WI, and AZ, and PA, the focus wasn't on Dominion. Even in MI, the focus was only on Dominion insofar as that was the system being used/abused at the Wayne County center, and there was plenty of focus on other irregularities.
Read the affidavits from the Trump campaign lawsuits in WI and MI, which happened very quickly. Don't recall Dominion being the focus.
What there isn't, far as I know, is any even reasonably comprehensive and well documented and thought-out analysis of the likely fraud in each state, its methodology, and impact on results. Navarro had a 10,000-ft view analysis that was very good as far as it went, but it wasn't attempting to do what I am talking about.

Without Covid, the most that urban areas can get is set by their registered voters. Having well over 100 percent turnout other than a few odd precincts is right out as it is a clear indisputable marker of cheating. In Congressional and a lot of state legislative races, it is for naught because cheating votes in St. Louis does not affect a legislative race in Springfield MO.
Registered Voters are the factor of how much cheating is possible. VA in 2021 was a blue state in the shadow of DC with a former Clintonoid governor as a candidate. He lost as did the the other two statewide officers. Ditto for the House of Delegates chamber.

Without access to ballot images before and after adjudication, it is impossible to figure how many were altered altogether. Without log files, impossible to verify any outside intrusions. Without access to the paper absentee ballots, hard to figure out how many are fake photocopies or unofficial ballots, and so on.
Doing one state in one facet of cheating is difficult especially with the state fighting you every step of the way, destroying evidence, hiding the personnel that did it, using contractors to hide behind plausible deniability, etc.
Fed Gov could do it but it would be on the order of the infamous Pentagon Papers history.

I've lived in NYC and NJ my entire life, I've missed perhaps one or two votes in 40 years, I've only ever voted for two Democrats, Ed Koch and Daniel Patrick Moynahah, I've been on the losing end of elections for most of my voting life.
This is all to say, nobody is not going to vote at this point but people are rightfully pessimistic with what the hell is going on in this country.

Always easier to arrange a cheat in Prezzie races than individual legislative districts. That is why a lot of blue states have GOP legislatures like WI, MN, PA, etc. That requires a level of granularity that Big Cheat Inc has trouble doing. Plus, midterms and bad economic times mean that the big cheat is facing headwinds anyway. Take away Covid preventing observation and absentee ballot storm in a lot of states, the task becomes very difficult if not impossible to pull off.

Yes, every time donks get in control they make voting more and more opaque and prolonged so as to manufacture the outcome.
It's like that truck driver in NJ who beat the Donk Speaker, the dude was up a ridiculous number of votes and yet they kept delaying and "finding" more votes and more votes until they had to the point where they literally could not synthesize more votes or they would have gave the game away.

Fox has a hard left guy running their polls who was the back stage numbers and polling guy in the 2020 AZ debacle. They made Stirewalt take the fall but Fox has used a number of shitty polling partners over the years and never been very close to final results for over a decade.
Turn their ass off. Go to Real Clear Politics, read Sean Trende, heck even Kornacki at MSNBC is a fair analyst. Fox has been shitty since at least 2008 in their election coverage.

Mason Dixon used to be a good one for example for state polls, Tralfalgar has been excellent in the last couple of cycles as well.

Tucker has a couple of flaws, mainly in overhyping some things, but they're forgivable, most investigative journalists are like that. On the plus side, he is absolutely the most groundbreaking public figure today, breaking news and talking to people that *everyone* else is trying to suppress. He's the Emile Zola of our day, and Ii do not exaggerate. There is no one working today he even comes close to both the stories that Tucker covers and the reach that he has. I'd say that at this current moment in time, he's even more influential than Rush was back in his day.

I've seemed to chalk up almost all the symptoms in two days: fever, headache, eye ache, nausea, vomiting, coughing, phlegm...
Last part is the lungs, which I'm trying to avoid...did the monoclonal antibodies today, but might no be very effective due to immunocompromised body...and Ivermectin is POSSIBLE, but does interact with two of my meds...

There is ONE 6000 uF electrolytic cap; a big bakelite cylinder. It seems to be OK. You can definitely see the time it takes to charge it by watching the voltmeter as you raise the transformer voltage.

Grew up in the Old Dominion but only got outside NOVA three times, and that was twice to go to Williamsburg (once in 1976 and again in 1985), and once to see Luray Caverns. Finally got to see a few other parts of the state as an adult, though only passing through. Never got to Norfolk area (though if I'd failed the July bar exam, I would have the following February....)

Data plate says: 6 volts 10 amps, 12 volts 6 amps, for continuous duty. Having replaced the selenium rectifer with a silicon bridge, that could probably be exceeded a little. There is an internal breaker rated at 20 amps, AND a fuse on the AC in. I replaced the cut-off line cord with a three-wire cord, and put the AC fuse and power switch in the "hot" line of the cord. Switch off, or fuse blown, and the entire chassis should be at AC neutral.

Yeah. This unit belongs to a friend. Thing is, with charging batteries, or simply using it to test-run battery-powered devices, there is always the possibility of an overload that could cook the selenium bridge and release the toxic vapors. A selenium rectifier in a self-contained piece of gear, like a radio or phonograph, not so many opportunities for an overload.

TY Gnu. They did tell me not to sit next to a pregnant woman for more than an hour, yes as far as kids and pets, but said 6 months. Weird.
I just had the idea of asking the doc... how long before my Jules can finger fuck me safely and not get radioactive. She is going with me and that is so far from anything that would happen but I want to see her reaction. LMAO

What bugged me when I got older was the character of Hawkeye. Such a definitive "lib". Any value that anyone else had was to be rebelled against and made fun of in a very smug, superior way but anything HAWKEYE valued, well, that was the most important thing in the universe and how DARE anyone not agree with him. He was basically a spoiled kid.

No you silly SFer. It was along the very weird lines of-
next to a pregnant woman for too long you might affect the kid, no small pets on your lap for over an hour.
Our old 13 yo cat likes to sleep under my right arm, next to my body and they said no problem. Guess they figure she's so old she's gonna die of something, LOL.
Our last cat, the late great Sally lived to be 20. I've told the story of almost burying her alive several times here.

It was a little amusing, as he and his wife had to drive down to Atlanta for checkups, and that was far enough away that they would stay overnight. They referred to the trips as a 'radiation vacation'.

Hmm. The Telegraph is noting the increase in excess deaths above the pandemic years. Excess deaths in England and Wales are running about 16% above normal:

They're calling it a crisis. They're basically blaming "delayed screenings and treatment". No mention of the Thing That Must Not Be Spoken.
Excess deaths are running higher than normal as well, but nobody is talking about it. At least they're talking about it across the pond.

AOP: Sorry I didn't answer this sooner, was very tired, but am awake for a little bit while I suck on a throat lozenge.
I've asked elder child, but he doesn't know TJ very well. In the morn I'll ask BIL that started this whole mess, as he's already decided he's well enough for work (never tested himself!) and DOES know Mex very well. I need to consult a Doc as I take TWO medicines that interact w/ Ivermectin, so that makes dosing difficult; If my Doc balks, I'll just tell him there are studies that show Ivermectin's efficacy, and that if he DOESN'T help, I'll have to do my best and guess myself (e.g. pick a concentration on the low end).
