Doggie Birthday Party Cafe

sailintosunset.jpg

I had a rainy day picture up and then realized, "No one wants to see rain, you buffoon."

Pet store owner gives out free treats to the neighborhood's strays, who line up outside his door at closing time.

This dog will wait for the baby to throw the ball, if it takes until the baby turns seven.

Primping before the night out.

Cat enjoying the rain.

Cat not enjoying the toy you bought for him. But he'll go crazy for the paper sleeve for a straw that you drop on the floor. But a $30 toy? Nah, that sucks.

Here's a toy he likes.

Donkey engineering.

Young elephant chomping on sugar cane.

Lion cub sneaks up on its mama.

Dog got into the catnip.

So did these kittens.

This puppy is on a catnip and helium diet.

Sometimes the beaver just needs a rest.

37 Years ago I had a big, tough street tabby named Toonses. He wasn't afraid of anything except any breed of canine. (Humans, cats, raccoons, etc., no problem; a purse chihuahua, fear.) There was one other thing: a large,
stuffed Siberian tiger I bought for him from Walgreens. Scared the stuffing out of him for nearly a month until he realized it wasn't real. I'd drop it on the hallway and kick it towards him. Dude would bolt outta there. Later, after he passed and Dorkie Dork moved in, I tried it with that sweet, little kittie and she wasn't having any of that polyester nonsense.

He had a party and we weren't invited.

Talk to an ENT about Meniere's disease. We had been fighting the wife's balance and vertigo issues with multiple doctors and the VA for a decade and were told she just has to live with it. She had a bad episode two months ago and after we left the ER she went to an ENT who diagnosed her with meniere's disease. No treatments but you can make it go away with a very low salt diet and dieauritic pills. The wife has not had an episode for almost two months doing that.

She wanted pens, paintbrushes, paper, tools, and computers.

I think what happens with kids is that they get to a certain age, and have the brainpower to make up pretend worlds and play in them, and then toys get really interesting.

They were within inches of Zelensky and Putin signing that deal. But guess what. Washington vetoed it.

Circling back, love the silly dog playing with the very calm cat. It's much like my dog, gotten from a local pound more than 8 years ago, as part of a big shipment that came up from the Carolinas. She's a ball of fire but finally slowing down as her 10th birthday is just weeks away.

Despite her energy (she can still clear 6' high fence), she's never gone upstairs or down to the basement on the wooden stairs, sat on any furniture or beds, or chewed any shoes, etc. She went to training & can quickly run through commands but that's it. Trainers said she's like a dingo, but sweet. Unfortunately, I encourage her by teasing & laughing as she leaps from one area rug to the next.

Will Smith's made a lot of old white queens a lot of lucre, and I bet he can call in some markers.

This act of wokeness will certainly save him. It's a show of good faith from a good earner. All will be forgiven.

And with a wink and a nod, an embarrassing spectacle involving another top earner will go away, after Smith's harrowing portrayal of Cucka Kinte in "Golddigger Coast."

The "Kunlangeta" is a term a Substacker I read, Matthew Crawford, uses for our Western "elite" leadership, both public and private. It basically means psychopath. It's an Eskimo word for the men who lie, steal, cheat, murder, and rape without conscience or remorse. Punishing them does no good, for they are bad seeds. The Eskimo solution was to have them disappear in the middle of the night.

Anyway, Putin now realizes that negotiation with the Kunlangeta is impossible. Washington wants regime change in Russia.

That ain't gonna happen without a nuclear exchange, and then who gives a fuck what "regime" presides over a post-nuclear Mad Max world.

The forces juking around Leman over the last 2 weeks were 500 Russian allied in the town vs 6000 or so Ukranians. Then the new troops from 50-something army brushed them aside and evacuated the speed bump Russian troops in the town and pulled back. This is fought over no man's land and the dumbest thing the Ukranians could do was get bogged down in it within range of the Russian artillery.

Not sure of the latest in Kherson since the incursion in Sept that was worked over several times by the Russians, but the north side of the region across the river is flat plains that have zero value for anyone to hold. And the political situation is fixed - Russia has a green light to take that entire region internally and in most world countries. So there is no need to panic and of course they won't. Heh. Elon Musk tweeted a proposed Russia-Ukraine peace agreement, with a poll. His proposal was basically what needs to happen. Ukraine neutral/no NATO. Crimea is Russian. Donbas region gets a re-do on their election. Make a free and fair election, of whether they want to be Ukraine or Russian (They would likely vote to join Russia).

Well, Elon got attacked by bots. The Ukraine ambassador to Germany replied, "Fuck you." Elon said the above is what's going to happen, the question is only how many more have to die before we get there.

This is soon to be our downfall then. It is because we have a "Generation" of children now so involved with this Social Media, they are incapable of classic Western thought.

Instead, they are focused on how many "Likes" they get.
How sexy they are...how daring they are...how outrageous they are...vapid, mindless, drivel.

Adding NOTHING to civilization as a whole. The decline is on....the older generation appears unable to stay the fall.

One side pops of a nuke, even a tactical nuke. It then escalates to a full exchange, 'cause that's the only way it can play out.

well, what Russia had on the table when the party started was even better - Donbass states autonomy in Ukraine. Crimea is never on the table, that was several wars ago.

But now the ship for all 4 Donbass states has sailed, as Russia cant' count on Ukraine and the West keeping its word on a treaty and they are part of Russia.

If Ukraine begs they might be able to keep Odessa and the land route to that little sliver country on the West side in their rule with powerful assurances but again, who would trust Ukraine and the west with a treaty?

Posted by: Tom Servo at October 03, 2022 09:57 PM (r46W7)

Take it back when his troops come on line. Most of the area the Ukrainians took earlier in the Kharkov area was in none of the claimed regions. I think in the last day they grabbed some abandoned villages that if the put troops in them the Russians will work them over from a distance with big guns.

In WWII this same area was retreated across a half a dozen times and nobody bothered to try and hold it because its worthless.

But the Russians are still advancing in the areas that they claim and don't have, and these offensives have not stopped it.

305 I always thought WW1 took all the elites by surprise. They all thought it would be a nice little war of maneuver where the professional armies would fight a few low casualty battles, people would make their careers, and eventually some of the countries would take a little hit and others would make a little gain. That's how European wars had gone to that point for decades and decades. The elites had no idea what to do but double down once it didn't go that way for them.
