Frankensnake Cafe

lisboaportugalAlbertoSaebra.jpg
Lisbon (Lisboa)
By Alberto Saebra

And now for a quick propagation of a wave through a flexible object.

Fire in the hole! Let's take cover over here, where it's safe!

Sleeping sea turtle.

Cat discovers her mistress' tattoo, considers eating it.

Sneaking up with a smile.

One ornery snake.

The comments section for a Bulwark podcast. Yeah, this is an outfit with a Real Audience and not just an expensive billionaire's astroturf campaign expenditure.

Kittens watching Tom and Jerry cartoons.

Dogs just want to help.

Dogs just want you to think that they're fuzzy people.

Licence to Pounce -- Revoked.

Unusual images you can find on Google maps, including a shipwreck and a (possible) UFO and some giant petroglyphs carved in the ground, Lake Titicaca style.

This is funny, weird, and interesting. Snakes have vestigial legs. I did not know that. Not only do they have vestigial legs, they have visible vestigial legs that pop out when you push the muscles near them.

As we all know from science fiction, scientists are on sturdiest of ground when they attempt to "fix God's mistakes."

But you get a break on rent:

Don't worry, the fawn is just frightened and playing dead. The mother comes to tell him it's time to hoof it.

106 But, every one of those cars look like they came off the same assembly line.

I agree, car design has gone the same place as so much of life, its become standardized and overanalyzed to the point there's nothing but utility to it. The last great wave of interesting design was back when they put out stuff like the woeful but interesting looking Prowler.

All the sports cars look like a guppy with that ugly front end gaping maw, none of them have a good looking rear end. Its eggs on wheels and almost all white, silver, or black.

Seriously ? Anytime you see two grown ass men willing to fight. It's a challenge.

You don't see it much in the Millennials. You see it all the time from certain Boomers that are sure they don't have to fight because they are in charge. You see it, constantly, in certain subsets of Zoomers.

It was not enough for House GOP member from IL, John Anderson who ran against Reagan as an independent. Once again, we see the splitter strategy designed to take down a conservative.

Bush was why the GOPe reverted to its loser form during his term and all the new seats and new energy that Reagan brought in was pissed away for one thousand points of light bullshit Peggy Noonan types. Noonan is still eating off of that particular obnoxious gentler, kinder, stab in the back to Ronnie.

Well the other meaning is "burning one" (which probably is what gives dragons their relation to fire), but that's kind of hard to work with. I guess Satan could've just been a flying thing that looked like fire (so very radiant and all).

Sure. Once when I was in grad school my cat ripped a hole in the screen to go downstairs off the balcony to go potty. An alley cat came in one night and put his head in a box of peas in the garbage sack and he was backing around in circles while my cat smacked his butt and yowled at him. He even let me pick him up take off the box and take him to the screen hole so he could get away.

I couldn't sign up fast enough. My CL service is $50.00 total per month for 100mps service which is more exceeds my needs by a bunch. I've been a fan since high school and I always seek out his music and I still find stuff I've never heard before.

Midnight Moonlight was written by Peter Rowan and a number of groups have released it including The New Riders of the Purple Sage which Jerry and a number of other Dead members played with.

actually - Jung opined that 2 snakes together is mental code for healing of illness. I would have thought that nuts, but I had that dream a few years ago, very odd. The idea goes back thousands of years, and is behind the symbol of the Caduceus.

Evil and magic are always intertwined.

342 None of this stuff with the EV thing is workable. And I don't think they fully grasp what happens if within ten years you realistically can't have a car unless you are top 20% income. Most of their transportation govt heavy handed moves have been hated by enthusiasts but most of the public didn't feel much more than mild annoyance. If you are old enough, you remember when in 1977 they downsized the full size cars to the former midsize size. Industry was terrified the public would reject the downsized cars. Now they think they can take the average American and put him on his feet or the bus within a decade and face no pushback? Insane hubris.

429 Evening.

Stuck in Biloxi. Boo!

Oddly enough, found out I have distant relatives here that own a large pest control company (company was founded by my grandfather's cousin so my third cousin). Looked up the company online and on the About Us page is what you can usually expect to see in these things, family owned company etc etc etc. But also a mention of being directly descended from a couple of different Indian tribes. They're very proud of this.

I've never heard from my mom about having any Indian heritage. I'm personally a bit skeptical of this but it's not out of the realm of possibility, I suppose. Although I would find it mildly amusing. I could at least say I'm more Indian then that crank from Massachusetts.

So Mexican on dad's side with a possibility of having a smidgen of Indian on mom's side. Interesting.

460 Unless things have changed, and they might, tests of Minutemen from Vandenberg are SOP and have been for decades. Usually it's a missile and crew that are pulled "off the line", from actual USAF active duty missile bases, and shipped to Vandenberg, so they can practice a live fire. Of course the payload is changed out to a dummy/test payload.

And the target is the PMTR (Pacific Missile Test Range) in the Marshalls (Kwajalein). There's now a lot of missile defense work done there too, and the names may have changed.

And I don't think the US and China are within a light year of war with each other.

See I'm not buying that either. Had the cheating in 2020 been kept at normal levels instead of the mass mail in madness Trump would have won in a landslide. Biden spent the entire race in his basement and the country was pretty happy with Trump's accomplishments despite the media lies.

His new party is called Forward, isn't it? Sounds like a take on Macron's En Marche.

I admit I kind of like Yang, or at least I don't hate his guts. He does come from the left, for sure, but he also comes across as a fairly pragmatic type of guy. Like his base assumptions are all leftist but he tries to, or at least I think he tries to, not be wedded to ideaology.

I forget his name. Some old crooked fag from some rotten Texas county.

Possibly. I've never bothered to look into it. It's probably the same jagoffs who tried to nail Tom DeLay, whose conviction was overturned on appeal by a panel of judges who found that the evidence showed exactly the opposite of what he was supposedly found guilty of.

What state is Cheney supposed to win? Where is she going to siphon off voters from Trump instead of Biden?

That is the sort of idiocy repeated on Twatter--bumpersticker crap.

The Jan 6 cmte has created political prisoners, violated its own empowering resolution, ignored basic decency like cross examination of witnesses, Liz herself appears to have coached a witness into changing her story, and overall is an embarrassment in civil liberties violations of attorney client privilege, speech and debate provisions in the Constitution, the 5th Amendment, and due process.

McCarthy's hearings or HUAC's look to be pillars of justice compared with that mess. Notice that Senators are staying away from it as Nanzi's mess.
