Morning and evening to all!
Stirling earned his keep last night! A wasp had gotten in to the place and was up in the hood over the stove. I noticed the kitten was peering steadily up there, and I switched on the light. Geez, this thing looked 2x the size of the usual wasp. I killed it, never mind how, then praised Stirling and gave him a kitty treat. Cats can be very useful as well as ornamental, huh? Going over to next county for work today but dogging it as big chunk of tree came down and need to see if roof is ok Posted by: Skip at August 05, 2022 04:38 AM Be careful. I lost power twice last week. A huge hunk of tree came down on the power lines of a neighbor a quarter mile down the road. Six hours later power restored. The very next day another huge hunk of the very same tree came down on the same neighbors lines and knocked out power again. Posted by: Divide by Zero at August 05, 2022 04:44 AM (jE276) 9

Decided to relax and have some toast and peanut butter instead of working out. Now to convince myself that it was the best, indeed, the only choice.
'Tis Friday. Tomorrow I may run out to explore the Aldi on the other side of the lake. Originally, I'd thought, we were supposed to have one on my side of the river, but the area it was projected to be in is not good. (Who am I kidding, there is a distinct *lack* of "good" areas here.) Local media (TV station) reports that NYS is the hardest state to sell a home. Ask Kathy Holchul about that, she would say nothing, sort of like her, she is a nothing. Should be home making egg salad for the boys instead of trying to run a state. By the way, she is an un-elected governor. Many are suggesting all the criminals who are running loose in the state be moved into her neighborhood. (which is the governors mansion in Albany, which has plenty of rooms for boarders.)

Suraj Patel, the guy running against Nadler and Maloney, is the NY version of Beto, Tank Abrams or Pramila Jayapal. His primary accomplishment after becoming a lawyer is losing twice to Maloney. Remarkably, but not surprisingly he sued Maloney after getting smoked: "But with over 12,000 votes left to count and 30,000 ballots that never arrived – our opponent was silent while we went to court to make sure every vote was counted." Full of grievances and insurrection tendencies is this one. His marriage proposal was staged for the cameras and the newspapers (see the link). Who does that but an attention whore maximus? Basically, this guy is a career politician in the making who in 30 years will have accomplished nothing but fuck up your life endlessly and eroded the constitutional republic for the sacred democracy (tm, pat. pending).

They exist only because of government intervention. Not available anywhere else in the world. If I'd gone for a fixed rate loan I'd have been paying twice the interest rate I am now - even after three rate increases - because banks are not stupid when they don't have government money to throw away.
