Rescue Dogs and Dogs You Need Rescue From Cafe

foxandkitt.jpg

Dog uses Shaolin Iron Butt Technique.

"Excuse me, we're collecting for Snausages."

Pretty good Transformer toy.

Cat jam.

Sick dismount.

This is a clever, fun prank that someone's going to do 400 hours of community service for.

He must have run over a pothole.

You have to admit, the advances NASA has made in faking their "space program videos" are truly awe-inspiring. Watching these technologically breathtaking, meticulously crafted forgeries makes me almost as proud to be an American as if we'd really ever gone to space in the first place.

They say pets and their owners look alike. Sometimes it's uncanny.

I think this is the end scene of a Twilight Zone episode produced by cats. I think it's metaphor about conformity or nuclear war or something. You know, like they all were.

A Belgian Malinois puppy is being taught to be tough by his older brothers, and he's showing them he isn't any pussycat.

Poor Waffles the Donkey.

A wolf, being a creature of the night, refuses to go to bed at a normal bedtime.

Rescuing so many ducklings.

These rescue dogs don't have any idea what they're supposed to do on this agility course but they're having so much fun.

Via Notsothoreau, who says, "This entire video is fun but please watch just the first one if you can. This is an agility failure but such a sweet pup."

Yes, he's a magnificent floofy dum-dum.

Like David Blaine except not annoying:

More beautiful wolves, from Braenyard.

I concur. Lived down the street from one in the 90's. Owner would not take keeping it in his yard seriously, and when it was loose it was a hyper-aggressive menace. That one was relatively small (around 60 lbs). But much later, at a referral vet clinic in Tacoma, I encountered one that weighed 150 lbs. if it weighed an ounce. That one seemed perfectly well-behaved, but if it had decided to go rogue I have no idea how it could have been contained.

When I was collecting my baggage from the conveyer on my only trip to Singapore, I noticed the sign announcing the death penalty for smuggling drugs. My thought was "dude, isn't that a bit late? What would anyone do with that information, at this point?"

BTW if you ever travel to Singapore, get to the airport like 5 hours early on your return trip. The airport is a treasure of hidden delights. I followed a tiny sign that said "Cactus garden" and found an amazing rooftop bar filled with real cactus, except for a fake Saguarro, because those can only live here.

The court found her guilty as she brought two vape cartridges with cannabis content into the country back in February. According to a report by Russian news agency TASS,

"Being sufficiently aware that the movement of narcotic drugs is not allowed… no later than February 17, 2022, at an unspecified location under unspecified circumstances from an unidentified person [Ms. Griner] bought two cartridges for personal use, which contained 0.252 grams and 0.45 grams of hash oil, totaling 0.702 grams."

I liked the scene in Lord Of War where the arms dealer says something like "I will be released for the very reason you think I'll be locked up--because I *do* make deals with the worst people on the planet. 255 Hadrian, friends of mine experienced a direct hit from lightning and at first thought just the computer and a couple of outlets were bad. Within a few weeks appliances started failing. If you haven’t done so you should have an electrician test all your outlets switches panel etc and reach an understanding with your insurance on your appliances. Your utility company may test for free if not your insurance should pay for an electrician.

256 Wolves?

Were you ever out in the Great Alone, when the moon was awful clear,
And the icy mountains hemmed you in with a silence you most could hear;
With only the howl of a timber wolf, and you camped there in the cold,
A half-dead thing in a stark, dead world, clean mad for the muck called gold;
While high overhead, green, yellow and red, the North Lights swept in bars? —
Then you've a hunch what the music meant. . . hunger and night and the stars.

Maybe. It can't hurt. When my house caught fire after being struck by lightning, I lost no electronics but ended up with a 3 foot across hole in the dining room floor where the gas line underneath caught fire. A power wire was laying across it and the lightning punched a hole in the line and turned it into a blowtorch.

UPS backup power sources do. But if you have other cables plugged into devices, like Cat 5 cable, HDMI, USB, ethernet etc... probably not protected.

You need separate 'surge protectors' for the different hookups between devices.

279 A safe shelter is a building with electricity and/or plumbing or a metal-topped vehicle with windows closed. Picnic shelters, dugouts, small buildings without plumbing or electricity are not safe. There are three main ways lightning enters structures: a direct strike, through wires or pipes that extend outside the structure, and through the ground. Once in a structure, lightning can travel through the electrical, phone, plumbing, and radio/television reception systems. Lightning can also travel through any metal wires or bars in concrete walls or flooring.

Sadly, for 'consumer grade' SPs, there's no real correlation between price and quality. Also, as they take power line spikes, they degrade. I replace them once a year, and I'd replace them after a lightning strike.

293 Lightning can come in thru your power line, cable, phone line, or thru a direct hit. All of those paths have to be protected, but in most cases surge protection is only on the power.

To be most effective you need lightning rods every 4 feet tied together with copper cables and grounded at multiple points with < 5 ohms resistance to ground. Nobody does that for residential applications except for the nut I did some work for a few years back where we grounded the hell out of everything attached to his 10 million dollar house.

I agree and Griner did just that presentencing. Her statement after the sentence was passed down mentioned her upbringing and more Mea Culpa's. In any event I'm thinking the longer she is incarcerated the more she will come to realize the reality of God Bless America....

Before the verdict was announced, Griner apologized and asked for leniency during a speech in the court, which is in Khimki, a suburb of Moscow.

"I never meant to hurt anybody. I never meant to put in jeopardy the Russian population. I never meant to break any laws here," she said. "I made an honest mistake, and I hope that in your ruling that it doesn't end my life here."

No. Falstaff died of natural causes as reported in Henry V Act 2, Scene 3. He was a fictional character.

The person who was "drowned in a butt of malmsey wine" was George Plantagenet, Duke of Clarence (Richard III, Act 1 Scene 4). Unlike Falstaff, an actual historical character. The method of death is not confirmed, although the rumor about being drowned in a barrel of booze, repeated by Shakespeare, is what is most commonly remembered.
