The Morning Report - 6/16/22

krisfakemake.jpg

Good morning, kids. Thursday and the J-6 kangaroo court did not convene yesterday due to the session being canceled on Tuesday. No explanation was given, but you can imagine that the news that the opening session that the show's producers claimed would hold 330 million sets of eyeballs in rapt attention, but in the event was beaten out in the ratings by a rerun of Young Sheldon, might have had something to do with it.

The whole thing would be laughable in the extreme were this not the United States of America. But, let's face facts. The United States of America as it was founded and as we had deluded ourselves into believing it to be is dead. After being slowly poisoned for at least half a century, it was smothered with a pillow on January 6th, 2021, the very day the murderers claim that they were the victim.

You might ask yourself, how the hell did we get here? It might not be the singularity, but one event that occurred 60 years ago comes close:

In June 1962, the radical organization Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) held a retreat in Port Huron, Mich. The powerful United Auto Workers (UAW) union owned the facility where the retreat took place and bankrolled the retreat itself.

The SDS had grown dissatisfied with the establishment left and sought to usher in what they called “participatory democracy” characterized by action rather than debate. On Friday, June 15, the SDS issued a manifesto that clocked in at a whopping 25,700 words and came to be known as the Port Huron Statement.

Tom Hayden, a core SDS member, wrote the first draft of the statement. Despite its immense length, the statement laid out what the SDS saw as the primary problems with the U.S. in the early paragraphs.

When we were kids the United States was the wealthiest and strongest country in the world; the only one with the atom bomb, the least scarred by modern war, an initiator of the United Nations that we thought would distribute Western influence throughout the world. Freedom and equality for each individual, government of, by, and for the people–these American values we found good, principles by which we could live as men. Many of us began maturing in complacency.

As we grew, however, our comfort was penetrated by events too troubling to dismiss. First, the permeating and victimizing fact of human degradation, symbolized by the Southern struggle against racial bigotry, compelled most of us from silence to activism. Second, the enclosing fact of the Cold War, symbolized by the presence of the Bomb, brought awareness that we ourselves, and our friends, and millions of abstract “others” we knew more directly because of our common peril, might die at any time. We might deliberately ignore, or avoid, or fail to feel all other human problems, but not these two, for these were too immediate and crushing in their impact, too challenging in the demand that we as individuals take the responsibility for encounter and resolution.

. . . At the time, the SDS didn’t make much of a splash. The media didn’t herald it as a major event, and it didn’t create immediate ripples. But what came after it did change the decade of the ’60s and the era that followed.

The SDS and the Port Huron Statement begat the anti-Vietnam War movement, the activism of earnest young civil rights activists, and the “free-speech movement” on college campuses. They also served as the genesis of the Weather Underground, the Chicago Seven, the sexual revolution, and the gay rights movement.

As radical as the New Left was at the time, its tenets are mainstream in today’s Democratic Party (and some of its ideas might even come across as outdated to this crop of leftists). Mohler puts it this way: “Many of the ideas that were considered radical 60 years ago are now absolutely mainstream, and for that matter, nowhere near the left of what we might call the New New Left in the United States. In particular, taking a snapshot of the Democratic Party.”

With all the upheaval of the ’60s, the New Left was just getting started. From the protests and action that characterized the student movements of that decade to the hold on left-wing power that the Baby Boomers (and some folks a few years older) still have, the SDS and its fellow travelers completed the “long march through the institutions.”

Chris Queen's essay at PJ Media kind of dances around the nub of the issue, but Tom Hayden's rap sheet at the invaluable Discover The Networks boils it down to its raw essence:

This document condemned the American political and economic system as the cause of international conflict and a variety of social ills — including racism, materialism, militarism, poverty, and hunger — both domestically and abroad.

In the immortal words of a 90's one-hit-wonder, "whoomp, there it is." It is bitterly ironic and disgusting in the extreme in that the parents of Tom Hayden and his ilk, who struggled through a lost decade of privation (thanks to fellow anti-America-as-founded traveler FDR) only to have their asses shot off in places like Anzio, Omaha Beach and Peleliu, others the death camps and the Einsatzgruppen, to ensure freedom for their progeny come home to suffer the unkindest cut of all — the indignity of spawning a generation of ungrateful bastards. But to be fair, a generation of ungrateful bastards isn't born. It's made.

Among his more insane ravings, Karl Marx purported that those who live in a free and prosperous society only think that they're free and prosperous. "False consciousness" as he called it, or in other words, "Who're you gonna believe, me or your lying eyes?" It is laughable in the extreme when President Sponge Brain Shits Pants and his stooge press secretary insist that the American economy is stronger than ever, despite stagflation, $5.00 a gallon gas and shortages of baby formula. But flashback to 1962 and the fools who scribbled that bullshit of America and capitalism being the root cause of the world's ills didn't come up with that themselves. They were taught it by individuals like Antonio Gramsci and his disciples Herbert Marcuse and Theodore Adorno, among others. And they've swallowed it hook, line and sinker and have been swallowing it ever since.

After the societal upheavals of the 60s and early 70s, we (for sure me) thought that the coming of Reagan heralded a return to normalcy. Little did we know that that 12 year period from 1981-1992 was just a speed bump on an inexorable road to hell. The late Jerry Rubin cutting his hair, burning his SDS card and becoming a "yuppie" was an outlier. Most of his compatriots like Bill Ayers doubled down and became "educators" who raised subsequent generations of poisoned minds.

And their chickens are coming home to roost.

Jane’s Revenge, the group responsible for firebombing dozens of pro-life pregnancy centers throughout the country, has now threatened acts of domestic terrorism.

In an open letter issued to pro-life centers across the country, Jane’s Revenge took ownership for acts of violence and vandalism at pregnancy centers throughout the country and promised to escalate their tactics if pro-lifers continue operations as usual. The group declared:

Your 30 days expired yesterday. We offered an honorable way out. You could’ve walked away. Now the leash is off. And we will make it as hard as possible for your campaign of oppression to continue. We have demonstrated in the past month how easy and fun it is to attack. We are versatile, we are mercurial, and we answer to no one but ourselves.

Promising to take “increasingly drastic measures” without giving any details, the group said it will attack these centers both overtly and covertly until insurance companies and financial backers “realize you are a bad investment.” The manifesto continued:

From here forward, any anti-choice group who closes their doors, and stops operating will no longer be a target. But until you do, it’s open season, and we know where your operations are. The infrastructure of the enslavers will not survive. We will never stop, back down, slow down, or retreat.

After admitting the “joy” it finds in causing such destruction, Jane’s Revenge concluded its manifesto by addressing its supporters, encouraging them to take matters into their own hands wherever they see fit:

And for the allies of ours who doubt the authenticity of the communiqués and actions: there is a way you can get your beautiful proof that these actions are real. Go do one of your own. You are already one of us. Everyone with the urge to paint, to burn, to cut, to jam: now is the time.

. . . According to LifeNews, as many as 59 cases of “pro-abortion violence and intimidation” have been reported since the leak of the Supreme Court draft decision that aims to overturn Roe v. Wade. Catholic Vote has also documented as many as 23 cases of “attacks on pregnancy centers and pro-life groups” in the same time frame.

Let me ask the 10 asshole GOP senators who voted for "red flag" laws, does this shit qualify, despite the fact that no guns are involved? Does "Lavrenty" Garland have anything to say about this? Is this terrorism or is it a case of exuberant free speech that is to be celebrated? Those are rhetorical questions.

Elections have consequences. Stolen elections even more. It's heartening that across the land more and more people see what is happening and are scared shitless. But that said, two to three generations of mind-numbed, fundamentalist cult-followers is something that we are going to have to deal with beyond mere elections if we are ever to even have the remotest chance of starting a way back to normalcy.

And when I say "deal with," I mean in the most radical ways imaginable. You do not reason with evil. You destroy it.

God help us.

18 Good morning everyone. Thank you J.J.
Saint of the Day
St. John Francis Regis (1597--1640) was born to a wealthy French merchant and his noble wife. After being educated by the Jesuits, he joined their order at 18 and was later ordained a priest. He grew into a skilled preacher and catechist, and received an assignment to evangelize the French provinces that had fallen to the Protestants -- the Huguenots -- as well as lapsed Catholics. He devoted his life to this mission and was very successful, winning countless souls to Christ. He preached the Gospel to men, women, and children in all walks and stations of life, traveling on foot to wild mountain parishes as a missionary priest. He would live on meager meals while spending his days in prayer, hearing confessions, and visiting prisons and hospitals. He raised controversy when he established hostels for reformed prostitutes to remain chaste and work for their sustenance in the lace-making trade. He is also remembered for stationing a granary to feed the poor, which was, at times, miraculously replenished. St. Regis is the patron of embroiderers, social workers, and lace makers.

25 I don't even know where to go with all that...

Wait - I do know one thing - Get a gun, learn how to use it, and carry it with you at all times.

I know there are legal limits on that, and if you're going some place they actually check that makes it more difficult, but the simple fact is the Progressive Left sees you as a threat and they *will not* hesitate to attack you if given the opportunity.

In Texas, a "bladed implement" less than 6 inches in total length is not a "weapon" (fun fact!) and can be carried by all persons at all times (yes, you can carry your pocket knife into the courthouse - assuming the courthouse itself has no rule against it). Do so. You never know when it might be handy to open a bag of chips, cut a zip tie off something you bought at the store, or be the difference between having some sort of defensive tool and just having to "take it."

I am reminded of the quit campaigns. They haven't been tremendously successful, but they are a tactic the pro-life camp uses against abortionists. They target the underlings - nurses, administrators, etc. - who make the organizations function and try to get them to quit their jobs, usually by helping them find work not related to abortion.

Quit campaigns have been decried my entire life as an appalling affront and a tactic of intimidation against people engaging in legal activity. Quit campaigns are oppressive, manipulative, intimidating and a veiled threat of violence. As such, quit campaigns must be forbidden.

Yet open intimidation and direct threats of violence - threats that are carried out - is just fine.

Most churches (at least in the South) now have "security teams" - members of the congregation who volunteer to go armed, but also provide real first-response / critical response functions (helping people evacuate in case of fire, for instance, getting first aid and CPR certified, and so forth).

It would be interesting if two or three of those men and women ALSO volunteered their time to provide a watchful eye on Pro Life centers overnights. It's amazing what a phone photo and a call to 911 can accomplish.

The lack of refining capacity — and resulting unprecedented refinery profit margins — are blunting the impact of the historic actions my Administration has taken to address Vladimir Putin’s Price Hike and are driving up costs for consumers. I appreciate your immediate attention to this issue and your efforts to mitigate the economic challenges that Vladimir Putin’s actions have created for American families.

Sincerely,

Jan Biden

All of this. No solution that does not address the root of the problem - the moral rot in our society - will ever be able to fix anything.

You're not going to successfully ban guns - it just won't happen. Even if every law-abiding citizen in the country turned in their guns tomorrow, all that would do is disarm the people who are stopping crimes every day (2000/day by civilians per FBI estimates, last I saw).

And why is getting murdered with a gun worse than getting murdered with a van, or a home-made bomb, or a knife? If it is, give me a logically and morally consistent reason. If it isn't, why aren't you talking about banning those other things, too? (I know, I know, don't give them ideas).

The world's first murder was committed with a rock. More people die from hands and feet every year than any type of gun combined. The issue is not guns or "gun violence." The issue is moral rot and an unwillingness to address it.

Ah, so Jane's Revenge is a Marxist group. This is the kind of language they use. Marxist abortionists use this kind of language.

It even makes some degree of sense in a universe without reason. Pregnancy, childbirth, child rearing, etc. are all *labor.* That labor is uncompensated and forcing a person into a position where they must furnish uncompensated labor is slavery. Any system that requires slave labor is a slave system. Labor is the primary value in all things, and laborers and the rights of laborers are paramount. Labor cannot be severed from the concepts of pregnancy, birth and rearing but it also is not (and likely cannot be) remunerated. As such, anything other than unrestricted abortion (and if you follow it to its extension, this includes the lives of *any* dependent) is not just tantamount to slavery, but actual slavery.

You may think I'm kidding or making this up, but I assure you that I am not. This is what Marxist abortionists actually believe.

The CN is owned by a bunch of investment and equity firms and is essentially controlled by Bill Gates, who controls around 16.5% of the company via Cascade Investments and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

When I put my tinfoil hat on, I suspect that the strike is not against management, but at its behest. What better way to make everything worse for the United States that to have the largest railroad in our largest trading partner - a partner on whom we depend for oil and timber and from whom we get a lot of manufactured items - idle under a strike?

This is what I've been saying for a long while now. The imminent threat is that they are putting the mechanisms in place within the power structure of this gov't to fully transform it. To usurp all protections we as citizens have from an all-powerful, unaccountable government. The pieces are being put in place, and what happens when they fully take over and our rights are gone? It's not looking good unless something very extreme takes place to eradicate them fully. It's an extremely dangerous time we're in. Unprecedented in our history, and we'd better damned well either be ready to accept our fate as they steal everything, or ready to change it.

142 There are two issues that matter:

1) Inflation
2) Cost of gasoline

The abortion terrorists can do all they want, but only 7% of the electorate cares about abortion, and half of those are pro-life.

In November the voters are going to vote motivated by those two issues that matter.

The cultural left is about to get spanked very hard because they missed the key issue that even Marx recognized. If basic needs of survival are not met, then the populace is going to rip you to shreds (either metaphorically or literally).

Equity and justice as the left defines it is a luxury and conceit that is only sustainable during a time of plenty. During times of scarcity, you better be the ones bringing the food to the population and not the ones keeping them from eating.

I remember reading a piece by some psychologist not long ago that Maslow's hierarchy of needs was wrong and social bonds were the primary need. Addled brained nonsense that non-serious people promote in times of plenty and peace.

People are scared that they won't be able to provide the basic needs for their families and all they see from out leaders is a focus on show trials and made up social issues. You don't need to be a rocket surgeon to understand why one of the most Hispanic districts in the country just flipped from Democrat to Republican for the fist time in 150 years.

218 I am beginning to think the market is a representation of Joe Biden's brain waves. It is remarkably schizoiphrenic. Lots off intense zig zags and then it goes comatose for a while.

The miracle of passive investing - the market no longer has price discovery.

Its just like Just-In-Time inventory management and Net Metering solar power. When a few people do it, the abusers benefit greatly because the majority assumes the costs and the risks. Once the balance changes so that more are passive investors, maintaining minimal inventories or the neighborhood exceeds the maintability of unreliable electric input, things go bad quickly.

229 I don't think there is a direct correlation between the increasing acceptance of homosexuality and sociopolitical upheaval. I think it's probably due more to sexual promiscuity of any kind, if anything, gay or straight. Not saying everyone needs to be perfect, but the complete removal of *any* kind of social taboo on promiscuity is very damaging to a society. The sex drive is insanely powerful, and if everyone starts to see the notches on their headboard as the only quantification of their life's worth, then everything goes to hell and we all just revert back into inhuman primates focused on eating sleeping and humping.

This willingness of Democrats to continue tearing away at the fabric of a united nation, to investigate, charge, investigate, charge is an endless cycle. The cost of their actions is every fraudulent charge, every smoke but no fire claim, rips apart the fabric of a unified nation. Every rhetorical excess, from the Swallwells and the Schiffs of this world, is incredibly destructive because it causes citizens just trying to live their lives and ignore the DC Circus to think "well, there must be something!", which is like acid on our unity, but Shiff/Swallowell and their ilk simply do not care.

Six years made sense back when Senators were appointed by the legislatures of the several states, not up to the general public and Dominion to decide.

The problem was, several States had so much infighting and internal quarrels that they often could not agree on a Senator to send to Babylon DC, so they went without representation.

Then some geniuses decided that the best way to handle dysfunctional state governments who can't even agree who to send to the Senate should metastasize into allowing an even more ignorant and divisive group decide based on propaganda.

My thing is that the next couple of years rea obviously going to play out a certain way:

Trump is going to run for the nomination. No one else close to MAGA-like will try to challenge him (he's essentially an incumbent in the party), so that means DeSantis will not run. The GOPe will spend at least $250 million on beating him but it'll be obvious by NH that he has it tied up.

So, what's the point of arguing about whether or not he should run? He's going to. What's the point about whether or not someone else would be better positioned in 2024? No one else we like is going to challenge him at all.

Just embrace the inevitable.

China views SpaceX as a significant strategic threat, especially Starlink, and is investing billions in anti-satellite weapons specifically because of the the Starlink constellation.

Given China's opinions on the matter, our government's actions will follow accordingly - both because they are beholden to their masters in the CCP and also because they share the same overall goals and ambitions.

In fairness, I completely understand their desire to ban guns. I can only imagine how it must feel to know you're responsible for the billions saved by 50M productive citizens - who worked for 40 years without griping or complaining, tightening their belts and figuring out how to make things work every time you pulled the rug out from under them by sending their jobs overseas, or importing foreigners to do skilled labor, or allowing illegals to take over the unskilled fields - disappearing in four years because you think they don't use pronouns correctly.

279 My "pronouns" are you/your. Or I/me if I'm the one talking.

Third person pronouns are just that. Third person. I have no right to dictate what words you use in a conversation with someone else that doesn't involve me. And if I'm present for a conversation I'm not actively participating in, it's just plain rude to use third person pronouns in front of me as if i weren't there. Use my name, or include me into the conversation, at which point you use second person pronouns or tactfully arrange your speech so pronouns aren't necessary.

That point was years ago. Instead the right preens about morality and justice. That lip service isn't cutting it anymore either. I honestly think many people nominally on the right have a distaste for confrontation/conflict and do everything in their power to avoid it. The left is very good at ginning up outrage, conflict and confrontation on their terms and obviously have a social network backing them up. But that's not a reason (to me) to avoid confronting the left on their own terms.

They apparently don't expect it.

That were me.

Senators got yanked on their chains a lot back then. There was a whole lot of, "I'm going to vote in opposition to orders from the state legislature, and then I'm quitting." or "He voted in opposition to our orders, he's gone."

I don't know if that would suddenly start again if we went back to that system. My read is that our problems would actually get much worse if we went back to state legislatures choosing senators. State governments have become addicted to federal funds.

288 It would be an interesting thing to look at - is the issue really just that they don't have kids and are therefore not invested in the future of society, or specifically because they embrace the gay lifestyle.
_______________

It's probably all inter-related. That very long piece written by the born-again Catholic man, who turned his back on homosexuality after living a hedonistic lifestyle for decades as a "bottom" in San Francisco, was instructive.

He said that homosexual men are looking for meaning and connection in sex, but they never find it. They don't have the moderating influence of women to slow them down or force them to take time to reflect, so they just keep amping things up and the sexual activities become more and more degenerate. Eventually, if they survive, they realize that their bodies are ruined and their lives are empty.

Nature created everything so that it would have a perfect balance. Men and women were meant to serve as that balance for each other. Disturb that balance, and things quickly start breaking down.

My more immediate concern is the midterm and the insanity being pushed by the J6 committee. I remember something Trump said once and it really rings true.

They aren't after me, they are after you. I'm just in the way.

Trump is the grand prize for the narrative they have been trying to sell since January 6th. That Trump is the leader of an insurrectionist wing of the Republican party that has already yielded hundreds of scalps with more waiting trial in prison.

We need to stop ceding ground to these dishonest lunatics and smash their narratives in their faces. Trump happens to be the face of this narrative and they wildly overplayed their hand by running this show trial.

If DeSantis is the nominee the GOPe will go after him as well. That's down the road. This fight is now.

Demands?
Open Keystone now.
Start fracking now.
Halve the federal and state taxes on gas 50% now."

Your list is correct, and yet they also demonstrated how screwed we are because of what the Biden Administration has done. Examples:
"Open Keystone Now" - impossible, the project was terminated, everyone working on it was let go. It would take years to get it started up again, even if all Government officials were in favor of it.
"Start Fracking Now" - because of the uncertainty and confusion regarding future government policy, all financing has dried up. Most don't realize that it was never the "majors" doing the fracking revolution, it was hundreds of small and mid size drillers. They have now been shut down, and again, it will take several years to get them going again.
"Cut the gas tax by 50%" - good idea in principle, but cutting federal revenue now just makes more inflation just makes the price of Oil and Gas skyrocket even more.

We. Are. Screwed. thanks to Biden, there's no way out.

This is why I think Conservatism, as we understand it, is doomed to fail. We're looking at imminent, unavoidable human suffering on a scale we can't truly fathom at the hands of today's Liberal Fascists if we continue along this current path.

A trucker's strike is proposed. A general strike, really, but let's not get all wrapped up in definitions. Would it come at a human cost ? Yes. But the suffering would be far less, and much more peaceful, than the alternative.

So, of course, Conservatives dismiss it out of hand. Because there would be suffering, and any suffering is unacceptable. Never mind that massive suffering is unavoidable is we do nothing.

419 Thought experiment: Send letters to the FBI, detailing how and when abortion clinics were going to be firebombed, then, send the exact same letters, but, instead, detail when and where pro-life clinics were going to be attacked.

Anyone care to guess which letters would be acted upon first?

Everything else is sold and ... this is the best part ... the money is burned .. it's deflationary.

422 In the link to the article on the asshoe protesters in Kavanaugh's neighborhood, it says one way they are staying within the bounds of the law is by moving aside (assuming they are in the streets) when a car passes by.

If I lived in that hood, or if I was a concerned patriot living nearby, why not just get a few like minded friends to drive down that street every minute or so? Not saying you need to mow anyone down, just disrupt their disruptions.

423 What is the point of this daily digest of the depraved? Possibly you could have a section devoted to planned protests, rallies and organizations readers could join to take action.

427 405 If the left wanted this decision changed, then they needed to actually assassinate one of the justices to force this to a 4-4 tie.

That option for them for sure is on the table. Beyond the death rhetoric from the very top of the Dem Party is the unwillingness to pass a law for added security for the justices. They finally were forced to do that.

"By any means necessary" is no longer the purview of violent radicals. It is now mainstream, standard Democrat political thought and tactics.

Problem is there are no planned protests, rallies, or organizations for decent conservative Americans to partake of.

429 The Port Huron statement got a feature in LIFE magazine, so the SDS founding was hardly obscure, and I don't think anyone seriously puts forward the idea that there was no major opposition to the Vietnam involvement before SDS.

No doubt the "New Left" ad campaign did a takeover of the civil rights movement and opposition to the war. The much-ballyhooed SDS was a symptom, not the impetus.

Let's see if pretending to assassinate a justice brings about the same result as actually doing it would.

431 428 no, there are they just aren't being broadcasted for fear of retaliation. That's the hurdle the right has to overcome. The town criers need to step up.

432 @423 Street protesting has had a pretty good run, but it is a fashion. Actual grownups write letters and petitions, talk at taverns, vote, and keep their powder dry. Street protests were for people who find mundane pursuits like politics and war distressingly un-hip.

My last protest march was 1978, and I'm a little sheepish I didn't outgrow it before then. I'm also not ga-ga for street art fairs, or those spontaneous outdoor concerts.

433 I started a book - Leftism for Beginners - and the chapter on Gramsci was the first chapter.

Congrats, you have my admiration. I can't read him for very long, my mind simply quits. Particularly when, as I understand any summary of him that I've slogged through, we get to the point where passive revolution by persuasion and consent transitions to active revolution by force; and his notion that everyone will simply comply.

Because once their gibberish gets control of any organization, they destroy it, thus diminishing that organizations power. And maybe today's collection of clowns in charge understand that, and thus feel the need to act quickly, before they destroy their own power base in the process.

I'd really like to know what they think their winning end game will be, as they destroy everything around them, and thus lose their ability to compel anyone to do anything. Do they think they'll be magically whisked away, saved from living on top of the pile of shit they've created ? Wait, don't spoil it for me, I think I've got it. They haven't thought about it that far at all.

Write letters to politicians, circulate petitions?? WTF.
Seriously?

Posted by: Ziba at June 16, 2022 10:19 AM (4h9M3)

435 Street protesting seems great in theory, but, these days, if you're on the right, you're risking the FBI showing up and arresting everyone, good luck getting a trial, along with losing all of your rights.

But, if you're on the left, you'll be encouraged to burn down half the city.

Protesting only works, if the law works in both directions. It no longer does. We're now at the keeping the head down and powder dry stage. the US is done as a nation of laws, the contract with the people known as the Constitution has been abrogated by those charged with enforcing that contract.

But, hey, organize that protest,NicBotzi! Nothing stopping you from jumping into the breech and getting the ball rolling!

436 Yes this has been a long time coming. When SDS broke up in the 80s, several of them were hired by Ivy League colleges. So they have been indoctrinating since then.
