Dustin Thompson, 38, is the third defendant charged in connection with the Capitol attack to take their case before a jury. The six charges against him included one felony count of obstruction of Congress.
Rather than seeking to dispute the allegations against him -- that he joined the pro-Trump mob in storming the Capitol and stole a bottle of bourbon and a coat rack from the Senate parliamentarian's office, Thompson instead sought to place responsibility for his actions on Trump and his speech on the Ellipse where he urged his followers to march on the Capitol. "You know, I think our democracy is in trouble," Judge Reggie Walton said at the conclusion of the third jury trial for a defendant charged in the Capitol assault. "Because unfortunately, we have charlatans like our former president, who doesn't in my view really care about democracy, but only about power. And as a result of that, it's tearing this country apart."
Walton, an appointee of former President George W. Bush and one of the most senior judges on the D.C. court, said that he's received letters from people around the country expressing concern the justice system isn't confronting Jan. 6 -- which he called an "insurgency," with the seriousness it deserves. Yes. People around the country send letters to circuit judges. Posted by: Cat Ass Trophy at April 14, 2022 08:08 PM (qnVBz) 73

Have seen gray whales a lot up close, but when they're transiting down to Baja, no "petting". Down there they're relaxercising and doing the dirty to make more little whales, and giving birth to little whales, so more social (a cetacean resort and orgy fest, and nursery, if you will). Don't know why they go close to the coast on the way south, then much further out to sea on the way back north (to Gulf of Alaska).

AlaBAMA,
Forgot to mention something yesterday. When you get exhausted like that, sit down and let your body re-oxygenate. It's not like you can just push through like you would doing exercise in the gym. If you try to keep going with low oxygen, it puts stress on your heart. It won't take that long for the level to come back up when you are sitting. The directors are weighing whether to move ahead with the poison pill - formally called a shareholder rights plan - that would limit the ability of a single shareholder, like Mr. Musk, to acquire a critical mass of shares in the open market and force the company into a sale.
The poison pill defense is a common tactic used by companies that want to fend off unwelcome takeover offers. It essentially lets the company flood the market with new shares or allow existing shareholders other than the potential acquirer to buy shares at a discount. This dilutes the bidder's stake and makes buying shares more expensive. Posted by: Cat Ass Trophy at April 14, 2022 08:47 PM (qnVBz) 212

ShainS, best story I know is when a legend I knows Mother came to visit him and she wanted to go for a wagon ride. Little did John know that the barn help got out of the sight of the barn and whipped the horses in the ass to dump the manure out of the wagon. Him retelling how he was trying to hang on to Mom and the stop the horses was the funniest story I have ever heard.

If the equine sports rider is a pretty young thing, it's some old bastard that's doing said bill paying. Nobody stays young and pretty for long, paying all the freight for shit like barrel racing. Posted by: Combinations and Permutations at April 14, 2022 09:07 PM (cHM9h) I have a friend that was a barrel racer and her daughter is a barrel racer now. She teaches and breeds I guess quarter horses or whatever kind of horses they use for barrel racing. I can confirm it's expensive. They drive to a rodeo and then hang out for the daughter to ride and then go to the next rodeo. They have very(expensive) nice horse trailers.
