Democrat Strategists Plot Bold New Response on CRT: Calling Republicans Liars and Saying That Parents Trying to Ban CRT Just Want to "Let White Supremacists Write the Curricula"

In the aftermath of the Virginia and New Jersey shocks, I heard several commentators make the point that after the 2016 election, the Democrats -- and the media, who are just Democrats who wear extra make-up -- spent about five days engaging in self-reflection an examining their errors, before deciding, "Nah, everything we did was 100% right, it was the voters who were wrong."

("And the RUSSSIANS, of course!")

And they predicted that would be exactly what the Democrats -- and the media, who are just Democrats with lesser education credentials -- would do this time, too.

And here we go again.

They've called it a "racist dog whistle" and a "lie."
But those messages haven't helped Democrats tamp down the uproar Republicans are fueling over "critical race theory," now a misused catch-all term for teaching on race and diversity in K-12 schools that's firing up protests at school board meetings around the country.

"Voters run from the Republicans when Democrats peel back the onion on what these claims really mean," he said. "It's not just that Republicans want a bigger role for parents in education, it's that Republicans are willing to let White supremacists write curricula."
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, the House campaign arm for Democrats, downplayed the threat to the party in congressional races. This fall, they tested responses to false claims about critical race theory in K-12 schools. The messages they say resonate most with battleground voters: Democrats want to teach the truth about US history and honor those who fought to make the country better, Republicans are trying to divide Americans and Democrats want to deliver for American families.
Democrats' message to voters in 2022 will be more compelling than "Republicans' divisive lies," said Chris Taylor, a DCCC spokesman.

DCCC chair, Rep. Sean Maloney of New York, told The Washington Post that Democrats have "learned from the lies and distortions of the last election."
Democrats will argue that "children need to learn their history -- all of it -- without censorship or politics limiting what they can learn," Maloney told columnist Greg Sargent.

This continues the lie that Republicans are trying to ban the teaching of the history of slavery, and that that's what we mean by "CRT."

Or, as "fair and balanced" news alternative Fox News' premier anchor Chris Wallace styles it -- CRT is just "teaching people to be polite about race."

That is not what CRT is.

CRT is teaching children that there are Oppressed Races and Oppressor Races and that if they belong to an Oppressor Race, they must defer to those of Oppressed Races, and make amends and do Racial Pennance.

Democratic pollster Celinda Lake said Democrats are on "strong terrain" when they talk about "teaching the truth" about racism in history and they should be more aggressive in their responses.
"Voters are wildly, wildly in favor of it and even half of Republicans think some of this stuff should be taught," she said. "Their strategy is, mobilize their base and distract us, and shame on us if we get distracted."

They're continuing their Orwellian doublethink whiplash lie of "It's a racist lie to say we're indoctrinating your children with CRT" and also "It is critically important we indoctrinate your children with CRT."

It's not enough to say that Republicans are lying about critical race theory being taught in classrooms when right-wing media is driving the issue and parents are also hearing about it from other parents at their schools, Ferguson said.
"It can't be dismissed as just a lie," he said. "It needs to be defeated as a way to put politicians in charge of the classroom and white supremacists in charge of the curriculum."

Below, teaching materials in the Springfield Public Schools which are "just teaching about the history of slavery in America" by teaching kids to rank themselve on the "Oppression Matrix" of groups according to relative "oppression" and relative "privilege."

Note this is not about history and not about the Civil War. This is about the current day, and about the kids in the class room.

This is, of course, straight-up Critical Race Theory. This is the heart of Critical Race Theory. This is Chapter One of any Critical Race Theory text.

Also note that just looking at this teaching material makes you a Racist Liar who just wants White Supremacists Writing the Curricula.

They sometimes go into premises, but they don't really teach CRT as its own topic. They don't go over what it is or how its theories work. They'll mention some of its core concepts, though, until they get caught doing so. Then they stop doing that and just proceed with a CRT-shaped curriculum.

I totally reject the idea that if I don't personally run for office than I deserve every bad thing that happens to me. I'm an ugly middle-aged Aspie with a gut and underdeveloped social skills. "Insane" is a legal concept -- referring to an inability to tell the nature of what you did, and to tell right from wrong. Though personally I've always wondered: If you murdered someone, then claimed at trial that you did not *murder* him but instead "translated him to a new form of existence" -- and if you were a good enough actor to back that up and fool the doctors -- would that qualify legally as "insane"?

that's cool. That show was my first exposure to him. took me a few years to figure out he'd been a "real" new man and not just on a very funny morning drive show.

Conservative readers accused us of playing favorites, but we didn't -- it was just that lefties were incredibly, unbelievably energetic. One frequent letter writer told me that he and a bunch of other lefties actually had an informal group where they would divide up responsibilities so they could get around restrictions we had on the number of letters per month per person, word count limitations, etc.

Conservatives don't do stuff like this because they have lives apart from politics. Lefties do not; politics is a religion for them in a very literal sense. If they could figure out a way to push leftism in their sleep, they'd do it. They're dumb, but fanatical.

There were 18 jurors who were selected to sit in the jury box to hear the testimony. Only 12 deliberate. The random selection was to see which 6 were alternates. Those alternates will only join the deliberations if one of the 12 are removed.

I don't know if this is common practice - especially in big long cases - but it strikes me as a very reasonable approach and may be better than just having a few designated alternates from the beginning. But I doubt it matters too much either way which approach you use.

Kyle didn't comply with Part II of subsection (a) (2) of self-defense. So he's guilty." My best guess is that at least some of the jurors are in favor of convicting on a major count. Hence the call for the jury instructions.

My father, who loved studying that war and knew as much about it as anyone I've even met, loved to talk about how the 2nd part of the Civil War was fought in books, papers, and journals throughout the 1870's and 1880's, where every player tried rewrite history to make themselves look much more glorious than their hated rivals. This is why it was easy for so many Union and Confederate Generals to become good friends after the war (Sherman and Joe E. Johnston) Their war was over, the real enemy for both of them was the people on their own side who were trying to run them down in the retelling.

Not denying school systems are teaching CRT, nor that CRT is hateful garbage, nor that school systems are being dishonest about it.

Only interesting and surprised that nobody's approached me with it. Within my discipline, there are some colleagues who put a woke, anti-racist, or DEI spin on our traditional models and lessons, but I've never gotten an ounce of peer pressure to adopt them myself.

Grateful for where I live, where, even though whites are a bare majority, nobody of any race (except a handful of white cranks) has any use for this stuff.
