There are places where oil naturally seeps out of the ground, and most people have seen oil wells dotting the landscape.
Dumping oil in the ground there wouldn't hurt anything, on the other hand, dumping oil into sewers or contaminating ground water supplies, rivers and streams, not so hot. Believe it or not, if you're on City Water, that is where your toilet flushes to a Water treatment facility, engine anti-freeze (green glycol coolant) can be disposed down your toilet. This is much preferred to say, down the storm sewer. This is the "environmentally friendly" way to dispose of used ethylene glycol. BUT, the lunatics don't know this. It is great fun to troll them. "Oh, I just flush that shit down the toilet". Much hilarity ensues. I'm a giver that way. Posted by: Common Tater at August 20, 2021 09:18 PM (IG8lb) 72

Why yes, they were comparing Alpha to Delta (and another variant in the mix as well), which was the whole point. Here is the relevant text from the abstract: "The Delta variant associated with increased breakthrough infections in fully vaccinated individuals that were mostly symptomatic when compared to the Alpha breakthrough infections..." So Delta is doing a much better job of breaking through those vaccinations to produce symptomatic infection, which is just natural selection in action. That's the comparison to alpha. Las Cruces Bulldawgs 20 - Volcano Vista 13. The third quarter was mostly spent going back and forth between the 30 yard lines where drives were killed with penalties.
Eventually Las Cruces got lucky and drove all the way down to the 8-yard line where they picked up a five yard penalty, boom touchdown. The kicker missed the uprights for the second time tonight, we are now edging into miracle territory. Posted by: LostInSpace at August 20, 2021 10:00 PM (slua5) 303

And then, from the abstract:
"The impact of vaccination on reducing the recovery of infectious virus from clinical samples was only observed with Alpha variant infections but was strongly associated with low localized SARS-CoV-2 IgG for both variants. A comparison of Ct values showed a significant decrease in the Delta compared to Alpha with no significant differences between unvaccinated and vaccinated groups." So, it seems that vaccination only had an effect on viral loads with the alpha. Delta produces lower cycle counts compared to alpha, same point above, and *there was no difference between vaccinated and unvaccinated groups". IOW, delta produces the same viral loads in both vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals. Posted by: publius, Rascally Rapscallion (f1Vqw) at August 20, 2021 10:02 PM (f1Vqw) 307

I'm old enough to remember that one of the reasons that Americans don't have the freedom to self prescribe drugs is because we needed layers of professional medical personnel to determine if there is even a need for the medicine, to determine dosage, conflicts with other medications, reaction to allergies or adverse effect with preexisting conditions. Reverse engineer the big plays and key players of Covid 19 and you'll keep bumping into radical depopulation psychos, and the people they've funded.
Now you understand why so much public policy is crafted the way it is. No new roads, no real infrastructure improvements, conversion to technologies that need very little human interaction. Why do you think that they are cool with windmills and solar and no ICE? Because they are all low-skill, low-labor technologies to keep functioning. If you plan on wiping out 4/5ths of the population you sure don't need to be expanding water supply, increasing grid resiliency/capacity or building new roads, ports, airports or rail. The conversion to non-meat meat (other than to humiliate you) is to remove the need for ranchers. Food can be grown in greenhouses, processed with robotics and processed into food-like comestibles. I have to get a COVID booster vaccine. And maybe in six months, another booster vaccine. Does this apply for my kids school vaccines as well? Do they need MMR vaccines every six months? What about the polio vaccine? Does that need an update? Do the schools automatically give kids their vaccines every few months, or do they go back to their pediatrician for this? I'm confused about this new world of vaccines. I didn't think that vaccines had to have regular boosters, is that a thing now and forever? How many COVID boosters will the kids and I have to get? Oh yes, indeed. That's a part of larger effect that reading ol' Geert Vanden Bossche has learnt' me about. More on that later. I'm still getting up to speed on it. Right, so...Creed. The band, I mean, not the thing what vaguely libertarian assassins adhere to. Until recently I knew them mostly by reputation, in a "Creed sucks!" sort of way, but a modern rock station I sometimes listen to has been on a Creed bender lately so I've heard a few songs. Not bad, though like a lot of bands that briefly flourished they seem to only have one sound. I guess there's some religious allegory going on, which probably prompted most of the bitching, but it's not overbearing and tedious like most self-styled "Christian rock" groups. Also, 'One' is a pretty prophetic song...basically suggesting, all the way back in the late 90s, that flinging money and favors at people based on racial attributes would just lead to another round of unrest and mistrust. Maybe I'll get one of their albums someday.

Final: Las Cruces Bulldawgs 27 Volcano Vista 20
With 2 minutes left in the game Las Cruces had a breakaway run for about 45 yards to store a touchdown. The crowd cheered and stomped their feet on the aluminum stands. They made a huge racket. Proving that miracles do happen the kicker missed the uprights for the third time tonight. In a final futile gesture Volcano Vista scored a touchdown with 30 seconds left. On the kickoff Volcano Vista recovered the onside kick and managed to get to the Las Cruces 45. After spending about 5 minutes playing 26 seconds of football Las Cruces emerged victorious. Barely. Volcano Vista dropped three passes in the end zone. And with that comes to an end the sports channel in the comments section. The full moon is lovely tonight as were the hot dogs and nachos. So I finally watched Midway (2019) directed by Roland Emmerich and starring a cast of people I mostly didn't recognize.
It was actually pretty good! I mean, it's Emmerich so it isn't high art. It's also not nearly as stupid as I anticipated. Still fairly stupid. They aimed for some amount of historical accuracy. Surely there are many 'Rons and 'Ettes and I imagine mostly Anna Puma who can really comment on that. Americans beat the shit out of Japanese. Shit blows up. Manly and honorable things are accomplished. Tons more shot blows up. 3.5/5 stars and a decent way to kill two and a half hours. Oil is, as the late Saudi Oil Minister Yamani put it, a "noble fluid". Pretty darn close to a miracle material/mineral/substance.
And not the cause of any climate changes. I know lots of gun nutz use a particular Mobil oil on their gunz. In terms of just oil, not combo solvents/lubricants, I'm still using a little can of "household" light oil that dates back to my teen years (it was at home, I didn't take it/use it). Robert the actual simple true story of Midway is far better and more compelling than either movie version, but movie-makers rarely know how to handle true stories.
The portrayal of Dick Best is probably pretty insanely ludicrously wrong, which is too bad. Easily the best acting in terms of fidelity to history was probably, of all things, Harrelson as Nimitz. Respectable portrayal of what he probably was like. Posted by: rhomboid (OTzUX) at August 20, 2021 11:17 PM (OTzUX) 603

Watching some Tucker clips. Afgan "army" was joke, just basically a money funneling operation to defense contractors. They kept the data about how poorly they were doing secret (proprietary info, since the contractors were private) from even the commanders. Afghan recruits were 90% illiterate. Tucker played a video of a couple of our troops trying to train them. They had to be told 20 or 30 times how to do the most basic stuff. It was a joke. One said that if they instituted drug testing, 3/4 of them would be gone. When they graduated, they still couldn't read. And come payday, they'd disappear, so they learned they had to do any exercises with them before payday, and even delay payday. And there was Tucker played of some recruits trying to do jumping jacks. They couldn't even do that right, in sync. Looked like a bunch of spastic retards. Somebody I saw, Mollie Hemingway had screen shots of this stuff they did about how important literal "face time" is with infants and young children. Lots of info about how parents need to smile, make facial expressions and all that with their babies and children. How important this is for brain development, stimulating all those neurons. Galveston After Action "combat report".
'Bout this time last night (1232 hrs local), I heard a very distinct volley of semiautomatic handgun fire, an initial single shot, followed less than a second later by eight shots, then after a 1/2 pause, another eight rapid fire shots. A ten second pause (mag change?) and another six shots. Estimated distance, danger close. Yes, really. Like what you hear at the TxMoMeet while you're up eatin' lunch under the carport. What'd I do, you ask? Kept my bourbon sippin ass right here in this recliner, and listened for sirens. Ain't no way I'm going out with flashlight n' gun in hand, and a BAC of point zero OMG yerdrunk. Nope. Few sirens, but fewer than anticipated. Noonish today, found online that an Aspiring Rapper had survived a shooting by an unknown assailant at a gas station about 120 yards distant, across the major boulevard that divides "North/South" on this Island. Rapper on the half shell had a crease atop his head, but his SUV got Swiss Cheesed pretty thoroughly. And y'wonder why I'm shopping for acreage out in the country. Nope. Last urban living I did was in what had been a decent neighborhood my wife grew up in. Over time many of the nice 1920 era house were converted to apartments and the decline came with that. We moved out the last week of December in 95. That week there was a murder two blocks up. Last of the year. January 3rd, after we had moved, the first murder of the year occurred 3 doors down. Spokane , even now, is considered a relatively safe city. I'm not built to live in close proximity to others. I thoroughly appreciate my 400 ft driveway.

Size, as in sq.mm. of the heated contact area. A soldering iron is usually (these days) used for fine wires and circuit board type repair/assembly. Seven or more decades ago, a soldering iron might be a 1/2"x1" footprint, heated in a forge-fire, and used to heat up tin to melt solder into folded joints for metal boxes and the like. Modern day? Photo mounting hand-iron, up-amped from 950 watts to 1750 watts, and Katy bar the door. Something is gonna get slapped with that sonofabitch, come what may! Just read that Romania is having nothing to do with the ClotShots(TM). Only 24% fully vaccinated, and the vax rate dropped to nil. That other 76% ain't havin' none of it. So, obviously, Romania must be being savaged by a Delta wave, now, huh? Let's look: https://www.worldometers.info/ coronavirus/country/romania/ Not so much, are they? Dagnammit. I've got thunder and lightning on my eastern horizon heading my way. Had the fire alert earlier this week. We were put on level one evacuation notice. By the grace of God it didn't jump the highway and get to the heavy fuel loaded ridgeline south of me. My wife's office is still on level two. We've had rain 3 of the last 4 days which has helped tremendously but it's still drier than any other time I can remember. Just had a flash and simultaneous clap out my deck door and no rain. I just finished putting all the pictures back on the wall, unpacking my backpack and putting my guns and ammo back . Dammit @!

I swear, I am learnin' me some shit from reading people who actually know what they're talking about re the evolutionary dynamics of virus vs host at the population level. Would you believe that lockdowns, leaky lockdowns, we might say, actually select for more infectious variants of a virus? So, you get a virus that sneaks in and seeds itself all over the place before you know it. You realize it, then lockdown to stop the spread. Well, now, it's still in those lockdowned homes and business, working it's magic. But lockdowns are necessarily leaky. People have ot venture out to get food and supplies at the least. Unless you're gonna hold them in their homes at gunpoint and let 'em starve. So, guess which little mutations get the advantage there? The ones that are really infectious, and have the better ability to infect with less time and exposure. Think about that. Now would you believe that it may just be that our vaunted public health experts in trying to fight this virus, and have at every step, done about the worst thing you could do? That it's like, we said, okay we've got this virus loose. Let's make it as bad as we can. Let's make it as infectious and immune resistant as we can? And you get about about our experts have done. Sock Monkey, I am glad that you are still here, I just wanted to let you know that my daughter had the jab while she was pregnant and she delivered a healthy baby in the spring. I kept my mouth shut, not easy for me to do, she is an adult now and makes her own decisions.

Thanks FT. I will file that with theither research. Problem is multilayered. We're in the state of Washington. Religious exemptions have been a legal opt out for vaccinations here for a long time. The wording of the state superintendent's letter implied that once FDA approval is given (forgone conclusion eh), a religious exemption may no longer be valid. I have no idea what their legal grounds will be. Inslee is acting as though his emergency powers are carte blanche with no limitations.

Are flu vaccines generally speaking , contraindicated for pregnant females? I mean were they before everybody lost their goddamned mind?
Another question, had she already acquired Covid and recovered before becoming pregnant? Does pregnancy generally confer the mother's antibodies to her baby? Or do they want to Jab the baby too? Posted by: Common Tater at August 21, 2021 03:09 AM (ubFZv) 857

Her, my grandkids and I all got very sick in March 2020. We both tested negative. She didn't test the kids. We manifested all of the classic Covid-19 symptoms. I felt like I had pneumonia again. Her good friend is a microbiologistin in the virology lab at Spokane's largest hospital. She said the error rate on the test kit's used in Washington was over 50% iuntil they were updated in mid April. Funny that was never mentioned. Inslee doesn't care about the science. She got the J n J shot. That was two weeks ago. She was fatigued for about 3 days. So far that's all. Posted by: Sock Monkey * Can it get any worse?
