Afflicting The Comfortable Is Now Our Job, Because The Media Are Unwilling And Incapable

Comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable was coined to describe the role of newspapers, which is laughably naive in today's hyper-partisan media world. In fact it is often just the opposite, and media attacks on a certain category of "everyman" is a frequent topic on this blog.

Absent an honest fourth estate, the responsibility for what used to be their job falls upon us, and Mittens The Utah Weather-vane bore the brunt of it at what should have been (at least in his mind) a comfortable circle-jerk of the GOPe elites.

Mitt Romney Booed During Speech at Utah GOP Convention

Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) took the stage at the Utah GOP convention on Saturday, where he was booed by several of those in attendance.

Several in attendance also shouted out, calling Romney a “communist” and a “traitor.”

“I’m a man who says what he means, and you know I was not a fan of our last president’s character issues,” Romney said as several from the crowd expressed their distaste with his job performance.

“You can boo all you like,” Romney added. “I’ve been a Republican all of my life. My dad was the governor of Michigan and I was the Republican nominee for president in 2012.”

Which in his twisted and entitled version of the world means that he is entitled to nothing more or less than hagiographic introductions at political events and significant cash-flow from the rubes. How DARE they criticize the great and powerful Mittens!

The original, from the Old Testament's Book Of Psalms is even more interesting:

27: With a pure one, You show Yourself pure, but with a crooked one, You deal crookedly.

28: For You deliver a humble people, and You humble haughty eyes.

That's a bit more aggressive than the watered down 20th century version. It means the gloves should come off, and underhanded political machinations should be met with equally underhanded responses. It is far too late to take a principled stance when our country's existence is at stake.

Play by their rules...or no rules at all, because winning this is our only option. That means that in a few years, Mitt Romney will look back fondly at this week's booing and wax poetic about how civilized it used to be.

8 The Establishment believed that there would be a "Blue Wave" in 2020 which is why they were willing to stab Trump in the back by allowing the Dems to steal the Presidential Election: they wanted Trump to be supposedly repudiated by massive GOP losses. Instead Trump carried the party to gain seats in the House, and very likely would have held the Senate if Mitch hadn't openly thrown the GA election by refusing to pass the stimulus and giving the Dems and weapon. All because they believed that things would go back to "normal" once Trump was gone.

They are in for a hard, ugly, and painful lesson.

Further, McCain said that his favorite of Hemingway's characters was Robert Jordan from For Whom the Bell Tolls. In fact, he saw himself as Robert Jordan. Well, a communist fighting for communism, I guess it makes sense.

GA voters sat out the run-off in massive numbers because the "stimulus" wasn't passed quickly (the 2nd one)??

At the rally, remember the crowd chanting "Defend Trump!", spontaneously, with an intensity that made things very awkward, as it was clear the 2 Senate nominees were almost after-thoughts?

42 Afflicting The Comfortable Is Now Our Job

----------

It was never the media's job, though. It was their job to *report the damn news.*

And if they had just fucking done that, the comfortable would never have been able to become corrupt enough to require affliction. But the media identified with the Left wing power-elite politically, and wanted to join them in their comfort in the master class.

So they covered up and perpetuated that corruption. And they have joined them. And, G-d willing, they will all face an affliction, together, that makes the Devil turn his face away in horror.

66 I think a lot more than 1% sat out the run-off in GA - somebody here must have the actual numbers. And unless the filibuster for general Senate business goes away, the GOP has a veto over any legislative vandalism from the idiots in power.

Noticed this at the match yesterday. Understandably, most people cling to party labels and broad often meaningless terms ("conservatism"). They don't know how things actually work, or why they don't or do happen, and just rely on "their" team.

And in a binary 2-party "system", YOU HAVE TO BEAT THE OTHER TEAM, can't let them get control, so ..... you have to put up with literally any kind of behavior from "your" team. Even if it leads to essentially similar results as would ensue from the "other team" doing their worst.

And the inertia of changing "your" team. And the downward slope is set.

79 If Trump - obviously the most effective and successful president in decades - didn't "play well" in AZ, and a vapid twink like Rubio would have, then there's your problem - an idiotic GOP electorate. But we knew that about AZ already (McCain, Flake, even Doucey, sort of the poster boy for empty corporate type).

They put forward 2 very GoPe candidates and then told us (well the Georgia us in this case) that if we don't vote for them all that happens is "our" fault.

But sure, the GoPe is totes gonna let us get some candidates in that represent our interests and lead the party if we just vote harder next time. Look at how they are holding the football, they obviously feel bad about pulling it away all the other times and so would never do it again, right?

I think if we ever finally get realistic, valid totals, we're going to see that President Trump won by the biggest landslide and the most disproportionate numbers in American history. Make Reagan's win look pathetic.

He had a booming economy, support from sectors Republicans haven't gotten since the early 1900s, and his opponent was a corrupt, nasty old girl-sniffing man hiding in his basement and showing heavy signs of dementia.

Even by the false, twisted numbers the official count gave us, President Trump got more votes than any presidential candidate in America's two century history, except for what we're supposed to believe Biden got.

He got ten million more votes than ANY ONE BEFORE HIM. With all the negative press, with all the impeachment crap, etc.

Umm.

Biden has been an openly mocked buffoon, for decades. His casual lying - for which the wiggle-room was always acknowledged to be that he's pretty dumb - has been mocked for decades. His corruption while VP is 19th Century, beyond anything seen in the Beltway in generations.

Biden is not good at anything, liked by nobody, mocked by all. The systemic collapse of the media - and the citizenry - are uncomfortable topics but pretending they're not the problem is silly.

125 I have yet to see anything even resembling a serious analysis of the 2020 "results", taking into account the various anomalies. Talking just top-line "results", and how they don't jibe.

The meat of the matter lies in specific examination of actual ballots, whether they were legitimate (Matt Braynard's project is one part of this, but there are other aspects, including of course the tabulation issue, which seems impossible to sort out in detail). Maricopa County could be informative.

But recall that the presidential result turned on just a few places, almost all of which had very anomalous, or suspicious, goings-on. Clark County, Wayne County, Milwaukee and Dane counties, Philadelphia, Fulton - as well as Maricopa.

The "pause" has never been explained - has anyone even tried to explain or dismiss it? That's kind of amazing. The absurd turn-out patterns and margin patterns in WI - never addressed or explained. The video of the guy in GA checking for a box under a table at the counting center, then giving a celebratory fist in the air when he's confirmed it's there - WTF was that??

Sure, the Dems tabled each bill and killed it, but they plainly demonstrated that they had the legislation written and were ready to use it.

And what happened?

They got control of both houses of congress and burned those bills, never looking at them again. GOP apologists here, including some who have vanished recently, claimed they just couldn't get anything done, that they had to get a bill together.

THEY DIDN'T EVEN TRY WITH THE BILLS THAT THEY HAD ALREADY WRITTEN.

150 My favorite, in this regard: *BIDEN* campaign data team said Trump
needed 53% of election day votes to win PA ..... (drum roll) .... he got
61%. WTF?

We know Trump improved in basically every demographic except a slight decline in old, wealthy white voters (hi Karen!) So one of two things are true
1) Biden got every single eligible voter to the polls in the Big Blue cities, including millions who never voted before, their votes were counted after Trump votes by accident, and all the oddities in reporting were just...happy little accidents.
2) Biden's people leveraged his complete control of the big blue cities to stuff the ballot boxes.

227 The truth about the stolen election *will* eventually be accepted fact. But the *whole truth* will never come out. By the time people are willing to speak frankly about this period, the current regime will have fallen, and it will be a matter for the historians to discuss. Much of the primary sources have already been destroyed, and more will be destroyed as the regime vacates their seats of power.

It will be one of those things like the Reichstag Fire or the political testament of von Hindenburg, or the Night of the Long Knives - things that everyone accepts were Nazi frauds, but can only reconstruct obliquely by secondary sources and circumstantial evidence, because the hard evidence has been burned.

The Democrats uniformly favor the losers, the criminals, the lazy, the useless, the illegal aliens, the perverts, etc. of society over law-abiding, taxpaying citizens.

Why? It's part of Marxist theology, deriving ultimately from Rousseau. Man is naturally good, so any social pathologies have been caused by society. Change society, no more social pathologies.

Now you'd think a six year-old would guffaw at that notion, but it is the driver of leftist thought (such as it is).
