Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Marco Rubio, of All People, Blasts Delta and Coca-Cola for Attacking Georgia for Its Voter Law, While Continuing to Give the Concentration-Camp Operating Communist Chinese Regime They're in Bed With a Free PassApparently corporations are now taking their political cues exclusively from noted Lifelong Lover of Reading the First Page of a Book, LeBron James. He loves taking selfies of himself reading books. But strangely, always the first few pages. Never when he's on page 230. Byron York notes that Delta tried to pander to the activist left -- but is now hated by everyone.Other Republicans spoke out too -- see the link. I highlight Marco Rubio because he was, of course, homoerotically beloved by the corporate Conservative, Inc. grifters in 2016. Strangely enough, these corporate PR reps have largely abandoned their previous slobbering love affair with Marco Rubio. This is why I despise -- personally despise -- the corporate shills of Conservative, Inc. They always scold the right for counter-pressuring these corporations -- without ever taking notice of the fact that the left, from its activist core through congressmen through the (fake) president himself, are themselves constantly pressuring these corporations to propagate the political agenda of the hard left -- and are constantly succeeding. How about your corporate cvcks stop attacking the right for applying reactive counter-pressure and start attacking the left for applying the original pressure? And how about you start telling your Corporate Benefactors to stop joining in the left's nonstop unamerican socialist totalitarian political campaigning? How about you dare to put your checks in danger by once slapping, or even gently pushing away, the corporate hands that feed you? But no: Can't do that. That's not the hill to die on. Attacking conservatives for meanly bullying tiny innocent defenseless mega-corporations -- that's the hill to die on, by gum! Says so right in the signature line of our checks. The corporations will allow themselves to be pressured by the left but never by the right and that is the Marching Orders they send out to their Conservative, Inc. minions: tell the right to shut up. Attack Republicans for fighting back. Let us join the Corporatist Totalitarian Socialist Super-State of the left, like we want to do. Stop all this insolent back-talk from actual real conservatives who aren't on our payrolls. Marco Rubio's statement below. Comments(Jump to bottom of comments)1

33 No, Kemp's former Chief of Staff as Sec. of State was the lobbyist for Dominion. In 2019, state bought Dominion election machines to replace the old Diebold machines. Speculation is that some sweet grift was involved or possibly some blackmail over the contested 2018 elections in GA.

Imagine if the US said "OK, we do not renew MFN this year unless you stop pirating goods." Remind me why corporations like Delta are commenting on political matters on the first place. Furthermore why I should care what they say.
How about just fly the fucking plane and shut up? At some point they need to be held responsible. They are taking positions which have nothing to do with their core business under the guise of social responsibility and those positions are hurting them financially. That sounds at a minimum a departure from their core business which directly hurts profitability, and at worst something they should disclose as a business risk on their 10k. Either way, it is dilutive to the business. If liberal gadfly shareholders can push them to take actions which clearly hurt the bottom line, then there should be equal pressure from other shareholders to hold management accountable for their actions Posted by: Marcus T at April 01, 2021 05:45 PM (h3FHK) 107

I think yanking their tax breaks IS the "libertarian" position. Are not tax incentives a market manipulation, picking winners and losers? There being so many such manipulations, we have to start somewhere, so why not start with our enemies first? So removing them is being consistent with our principles, the stratigerie is in choosing the order of execution.

It's remotely possible that some in the GOPe have noticed the writing on the wall, and haven't deluded themselves into believing that Biden won the election or things will return to 2003 normal. Rubio might just have gotten a whiff of that coffee and wants to see himself politicin' along in 20 years.
But he's got a long, ugly slog ahead of him before I'll make that assumption. Will he keep playing both sides, or is he willing to take that leap of faith? Time is definitely not on his side, and I'd prefer we have more allies - can also save ammo that way. To continue with my theme: It has also been advocated here at the HQ that principles be darned in fighting Cancel Culture - we need to hit them with the same weapons they're attacking us with.
I think we can still retain our First Amendment absolutism principles: whenever some Lefty says something that would get a Conservative cancelled, we should retweet it captioned with, "I 100% deplore this comment but I absolutely support this person's right as an American to say such stupid stuff." If our amplification should result in other lefties going after that person - why, how could we have foreseen such a thing; all we did was stand up for freedom of speech? The idea that elected officials respond to voter input is hopelessly naive. Quite the contrary, voters respond to politician input. So when a politician says something they like, voters stand up and clap. But politicians do what their big donors want; that's who they obey. That's why you have a GOP that bears no resemblance to its base. Be as supportive of Marco Rubio as you want in response to his conservative mouth noises. It will not alter his behavior (apart from him telling you bubbas what you need to hear to show up and pull the lever).

Posted by: Lizzy This is simple. Jim Crow was based on the premise that black people were not capable of participating in democracy and electing the kind of leaders who are good for society, and themselves. So Jim Crow was a way for white people to control the elections. This new law is an attempt to allow the public to vote (white or black) and prevent the voter fraud machines controlled by the white elite from picking the winners,,.... Oh wait. "Conservatives" capitulated and are truly the people of FAIL with no backbone or principles. When it gets bad enough maybe the few patriots who always fight can prevail. It always comes down to just a few. Until then, shame and ridicule the spineless conservatives. They brought this on themselves. In the meantime, maybe the blog can pivot to backcountry extreme spots - they're a blast and you won't be bothered by the pussies - you NEVER see a conservative in the backcountry. You ever meet a conservative who likes to backcountry ski, backpack, kayak, or mountain bike? It actually says a lot about modern "conservatives".
