The Morning Rant: Minimalist Edition

We mock (for many good reasons) the "trans" movement in America. The idea that the immutable programming in each of our 30,000,000,000,000 cells (3x10¹³) can be changed with hormone injections and some surgery is just...nuts!

And that's the point. Sometimes we forget that most of the people who subject themselves to this profound mutilation are themselves profoundly disturbed. Imagine looking in the mirror and seeing something radically different than reality. You and I look in the mirror and see ourselves. These people, like anorexics, see something detached from the truth.

Yet we celebrate one psychiatric pathology and treat the other. And even those who study them are twisting their research to follow the political winds. These folks were pilloried when they released their study and had to correct the record!

And that record is damning. "Transitioning" doesn't help...it hurts.

'Transitioning' Procedures Don't Help Mental Health, Largest Dataset Shows

Individuals diagnosed with gender incongruence who had received gender-affirming surgery were more likely to be treated for anxiety disorders compared with individuals diagnosed with gender incongruence who had not received gender-affirming surgery.

Wow; Orwell would have loved this! "Gender-affirming?" What the hell does that mean?

Anyway, this large study calls into question many things, not least of which is the appropriateness of trying to switch from male to female or female to male. It just doesn't work, and clearly exposes the underlying issue, which is psychiatric illness, not a man trapped in a woman's body.

The forced "transition" of children is another issue entirely. That is called child abuse and deserves the full weight of the law to come down on the parents who would force horrid, life-destroying drug therapy ending in surgical mutilation on a child. As for the physicians who agree to this sort of malpractice? Perhaps the physicians among us would like to opine...

Let's get these people help, and not cheer their insanity and hoist them up onto some woke pedestal where they are emboldened to preach the gospel of mutilation.

There is absolutely nothing physical that is incorrect and needs correction. The only abnormality is within the mind -- not within the brain, which can be detected and identified, but strictly within the abstract concept we call "mind." An old friend worked with anorexics in a legal, mental health setting. Tough cases because there is actual science involved.

What I've hated the most about this is that it forces traditional gender stereotypes, erasing all of the past decades of easing up on that.

If you're a female you must be a girly-girl who like pink, and fashion, and make-up. Heaven forbid you're not into that stuff. And if you're a trans woman, dressing and acting as a caricature of a girly-girl does not make you an actual girl -- it's the equivalent of blackface.

There are also a lot of confused teenagers who are unsure about their sexuality at times.
I believe that in the past, most of these people grew out of it.
But the spotlight on trans and everything gay is a mechanism designed to "capture' them while they are still confused and thus vulnerable--and get them to "commit" to being a trans or gay person.

This is why a lot of these people become miserable later on and kill themselves. They realize they made a mistake.

224 IMO, advertising doesn't use marching orders. Agencies exist to be edgy, creating stand out and word of mouth. In reality they are sheep.

Some agency does an edgy ad about a family with biracial transvestites, and the other agencies will follow suit so as to not look bad, or to try and follow a trend they see in their bubbles. Then the bar gets lifted and so on and so forth.

I think the same with magazine covers. They are there to stand out on the shelf and get you to buy the magazine. Having something "unusual" catches the eye.

By this time, Trump is probably rightfully screaming at Governor Walz. The Minneapolis and Saint Paul skylines are filled with smoke from DOZENS of fires. The rioters also hit some areas of the inner suburbs too.

Governor Walz, realizes that PDT is about an hour away from declaring an Insurrection, and throwing him out of the job, finally does what he should have on Wednesday Afternoon.

Governor Walz calls out the ENTIRE FREAKING MINNESOTA NATIONAL GUARD, all 13,000 of them. Even the helicopter mechanics. He even calls up the MN DNR Game Wardens, and MN DOC Prison Guards.

"I said EVERYBODY!!!"

Governor Walz even asks the neighboring governors to prepare their own guard to deploy to Minnesota on Saturday.

Saturday Night starts up like the previous Three Shitshow Nights. Suddenly large formations of police and NG show up at the usual hotspots, and they start lobbing tear gas, pepper balls, and move forward, putting the mobs to flight.

They also block off intersections and bridges, isolating the mobs from each other. They chase down and capture several Antifa work cars with riot materials, tools, and flammables too. The Antifa members mostly bail and get away.

The arson and looting on Saturday night were much lower.

That's a fascinating clip. Looks like a secondary explosion - a fire is already burning on the other side of the building, and there's no sign of any incoming bomb or missile strike. Also, a close look shows that the explosion comes from the other side of the building, not the building itself, which suggests that it could be from the cargo of a ship docked at a wharf we can't see.

407 A lot of people saw Captain Marvel because it was between Infinity War and Endgame and they thought they had to see it.

Right, it was part of a huge story arc and they didn't want to miss a part of the story. Plus, Marvel had been pretty good at turning even really obscure characters like Guardians of the Galaxy and Ant Man into interesting films, so why not give it a shot?

But... the buzz was bad and I don't think a sequel will do well at all. In fact, I think Marvel has lost its mojo and its going to be a struggle for them to make huge bank again, even if people were not getting pretty used to the idea of there not being movies to watch.

And how many of these theaters are going to stay open much longer? Almost all of them are on prime real estate. They are all really huge and pay enormous taxes and maintenance costs, sitting empty and unused.

As soon as the unrest spread to the Midway Area of Saint Paul on WEDNESDAY afternoon, miles and miles away from the Minneapolis Lake Street area, I knew it was going to be bad.

They reacted by calling up about 200 National Guard and bringing in some State Highway Patrol. They should have called up two or three NG Battalions. Instead The Fucking Governor's own daughter was tweeting, reassuring rioters they didn't have to worry about the National Guard.

Then After the Wednesday Daylight Burnings and Riots in both cities, The Boy Mayor(TM) on Thursday morning said he had it under control. Thursday night about a dozen square blocks went up in flames, looting hit both cities hard, and the MPD 3rd Precinct was overrun, and the police literally ran out the back door as rioters came in the front door.

What did the NG do on Thursday Night you ask?

They sat on their asses in the suburbs waiting for someone, anyone from Minneapolis to ask them to deploy and help.

After that COMPLETE SHITSHOW THURSDAY NIGHT, Governor Walz comes on the TV Friday Morning and publicly says, "I GOT IT" and the Governor is taking over. He calls up another 400 National Guard. He declares a curfew.

About this same time, President Trump is saying WTF???, and Trump is ordering the military to prepare to intervene in Minnesota.

Friday night is another complete shitshow. Rioters burn and loot another couple dozen square blocks, including 2-3 US Post Offices. The rioters almost overrun the MPD 5th Precinct. No one even cared about the curfew. There were TRAFFIC JAMS at midnight around the riots and fires. Freaking cars blocking the roads with gawkers and looters at midnight!

SATURDAY
By this time, Trump is probably rightfully screaming at Governor Walz. The Minneapolis and Saint Paul skylines on Saturday morning are filled with smoke from DOZENS of fires. The rioters also hit some areas of the inner suburbs too.

Governor Walz, realizes that PDT is about an hour away from declaring an Insurrection, and throwing him out of the job, finally does what he should have on Wednesday Afternoon.

Governor Walz calls out the ENTIRE FREAKING MINNESOTA NATIONAL GUARD, all 13,000 of them. Even the helicopter mechanics. He even calls up the MN DNR Game Wardens, and MN DOC Prison Guards.

"I said EVERYBODY!!!"

Governor Walz even asks the neighboring governors to prepare their own guard to deploy to Minnesota on Saturday.

Saturday Night starts up like the previous Three Shitshow Nights. Suddenly large formations of police and NG show up at the usual hotspots, and they start lobbing tear gas, pepper balls, and move forward, putting the mobs to flight.

They also use police and NG to block off intersections and bridges, isolating the mobs from each other. They chase down and capture several Antifa work cars with riot materials, tools, and flammables too. The Antifa members mostly bail and get away.

The arson and looting on Saturday night were much lower.

Sunday Morning,

The streets are filled with National Guard. The Guard is deployed to cover all the critical places, like the State Capitol, police precincts, city halls, county government buildings, and the like, giving the police some needed relief and freeing them up to be police.

The protesters are out in force Sunday Morning, but each group is being shadowed by police, lots of police. They are peaceful. But the police cannot completely control them. Several groups do stupid shit like march onto the freeways. That almost ends in tragedy, when an empty semi truck gas tanker barrels over a hill and comes onto 2,000 people on the I-35W Mississippi River Bridge. Luckily, he avoids hitting anyone.

The curfew starts Sunday Night. The protesters are warned to disperse. The smart ones do. The stupid don't.

The stupid are then subjected to the tear gas, etc., and forced into groups surrounded by lots of cops and guard. They are told to STFD, and STFU. Then after they calm down, they are arrested and processed one by one. Just like a herd of cattle. Arested, ID'd and put on a bus to jail.

This happens all over Minneapolis and Saint Paul. By 11 pm, the forlorn groups of protesters are even surrendering to the police in the State Capitol area.

The riots are suddenly OVER. At midnight Sunday night, the local TV Stations even stop their 24/7 continuous riot coverage and revert to their normal TV infomercials.

The whole next week, protests continue during the day, but they are PEACEFUL. And watched over by National Guard and Police. Lots of guard and police.

Overwhelming Forces and the will to use them stopped the riots.

Having watched it, I agree. Brie Larson has very little charisma and is playing down any she might have had. She comes across as unpleasant and unlikable, the story doesn't make a lot of sense, and you don't care about any of the people involved.

There's an old film clip somewhere, don't know if it's on the net, from Campbell in a championship game in either his junior or senior HS year. First off, it looks like there's a Full Grown Big Man out there on the field with a bunch of teens. Then you see him run the ball down the field, and by the 20 yard line one guy jumps on his back, and then a second, and by the 5 yard line he's got 5 or 6 defenders on him, and as he goes across the goal line he's got almost the entire other team on him, and they still can't knock him down. It makes you feel sorry for anyone who had to play against him.

They're all epic in their own way.

Jim Brown had no fear and would run over anything in his way and was very successful at it.

Barry Sanders was mostly untouchable. He got past the line of scrimmage and everyone struggled getting a hand on him.

Peyton was a mixture of both. He had the moves and the ability to knock you down.

They're all tops in their own way.

A lot of people saw Captain Marvel because it was between Infinity War and Endgame and they thought they had to see it.

Right, it was part of a huge story arc and they didn't want to miss a
part of the story. Plus, Marvel had been pretty good at turning even
really obscure characters like Guardians of the Galaxy and Ant Man into
interesting films, so why not give it a shot?

But... the buzz was bad and I don't think a sequel will do well at
all. In fact, I think Marvel has lost its mojo and its going to be a
struggle for them to make huge bank again, even if people were not
getting pretty used to the idea of there not being movies to watch.

And how many of these theaters are going to stay open much longer?
Almost all of them are on prime real estate. They are all really huge
and pay enormous taxes and maintenance costs, sitting empty and unused.

I was a kid when Jim Brown was at his peak. A little kid watching TV.
One of the things about Jim Brown and the Cleveland Browns at that time, was that the offensive linemen were 250-260 lbs, and could actually run and do downfield blocking. If you watch films of some of his long runs, there's at least one OL guy running down field with him. Not like the sumo wrestling behemoths of today.

(I always thought that the XFL could be clever and actually put weight limits on position players. There are a lot of really good players that come out of college every year but are "too small" for the NFL. Would make for a more watchable game, IMHO.)

Brown was also about 225, which was YUGE for a running back in those days, and fast and agile for his size, not just a big heavy man.

No matter how far from the explosion, you can hear shattering glass and see the cell phones cracking as the impact of the blast hits them. I fear that the toll is going to be very high.
