The Morning Report - 7/27/20

hitmyth.jpg

Good morning, kids. Another week and if you weren't aware of it we are now 99 days from Election Day 2020. I'm not going to lie to you; I'm absolutely scared shitless about the prospect of President Trump losing. If that happens, America as founded, or whatever there is that is still left after the depredations of the Democrat-inflicted political Bataan Death March toward socialist utopia will be snuffed out for good.

And yet, if the pollsters are correct in that the Trump base, as well as the much vaunted and hallowed "independents" are fleeing him in droves because of, well, pick your phony meme - Russian collusion, mish-grabbing, emoluments, racism, xenophobia, Peking Pox paranoia, the crashed economy, mostly peaceful rioting - then why is the Democrat-Media Complex desperate to cover-up, minimize, deflect, obfuscate or otherwise blame the President for the wave of terror unleashed on our cities since May 25th?

..."The violent situation Portland has witnessed for the past eight weeks continues with violent anarchists rioting on the streets as federal law enforcement officers work diligently and honorably to enforce federal law, defend federal property, and protect the lives of their fellow officers," DHS said in a statement on Sunday. "As federal officers left the courthouse to respond to attacks on the fence, just like on previous nights they were met by rioters with hard projectiles, mortar style fireworks and lasers that can cause permanent blindness. Over the previous 24 hours, such assaults have resulted in at least 14 federal officers injured..."

That was the report from the Department of Homeland Security. And yet, when the rolling globular cluster known as Jerry Nadler was asked about this by journalist Aaron Fletcher, he removed the goiter belt from in front of his flapping maw and had this exchange with the reporter:

..."Do you disavow the violence from Antifa that's happening in Portland right now? There's riots --"

"That's a myth that's being spread only in Washington, D.C.," Nadler claimed without evidence.

"About Antifa in Portland?" Fletcher pressed.

"Yes--" Nadler once again claimed without evidence.

A person with Nadler, presumably an aide, rushed in to get Nadler away from the camera and took him to a car nearby...

So, it's a myth! Just like Sasquatch, the Loch Ness monster and, considering the words and actions from the Democrat Party of late, the Holocaust. Not only is it a myth but get this; the mostly peaceful non-rioting rioting is caused, not by the death of a black criminal at the hands of Minneapolis police but because Trump has sent in Federal agents to protect Federal property from the non-attacks by the non-rioting non-rioters. In fact, he sent them in as sort of a Spanish Civil War dress rehearsal to conduct a fascist coup when he loses to Biden this November. Get it? It's so obvious.

You see, just like in 2016, there is no way that Trump can possibly defeat Joe Biden. In fact, dig this brainwave from Lefty brainiac James Carville:

..."I think there is a significant chance he doesn't run," Carville said on MSNBC's Morning Joe. "I mean, this thing is going so poorly. He's so far back. It doesn't even -- to me, it doesn't make much sense for him to run..."

There it is folks. The polling numbers. Hell, not even an early night according to Skeletor; Trump's not even going to stay in the race! How did that prediction of a landslide Hillary victory four years ago turn out for you, genius? Yeah, it's all over, folks. And yet the ramping up of lockdowns and wearing of masks despite real scientific evidence that neither do any good in mitigating the spread of a virus that is now provably no more lethal than seasonal flu or at worst other COVID viruses, the rush to desecrate and destroy American society, culture and the concept of law and order, denigrate Judeo-Christianity and at least two thirds of the population, and the desperate attempt to institute legalized national election theft via mail-in voting continues con gusto.

If it really was in the bag for Biden, Mr. Carville, then please explain all of the latter. In fact, if it's all over for Trump and Biden is going to wipe the floor with him, then why is your party keeping him in the fruit cellar with Mrs. Bates?

...[Chris] Wallace told Fox News anchor Bret Baier, "The fact is, the president is out there. He's out there in this broiling heat with me for an hour; he took all the questions. You can like his answers or dislike them but he had answers and Joe Biden hasn't faced that kind of scrutiny, hasn't faced that kind of exposure..."

As we all know, Chris Wallace is an anti-Trump lefty as much as any other "reporter" despite being with Fox News, which contrary to leftist memes is no longer a "right wing house organ" or however they continue to spin it. But much like Hillary Clinton in 2016, Joe Biden polls better when the public doesn't get to see or hear him for more than a couple of minutes at a time. In Hillary's case, it's because she radiates repulsion, revulsion and complete phoniness. Biden, on the other hand, is getting even less rational and cogent than a boiled rutabaga.

All things considered, maybe the Dems shouldn't have ditched Bernie Sanders. At least he can string sentences together to make cogent statements, their political insanity notwithstanding. Ironically, considering the Molotov-Von Ribbentrop pact the Dems engineered to mollify the Maoists among them, Bernie for all intents and purposes is their candidate. Carville knows it and has no problem despite his previous sturm und drang theatrics a few months back. The problem for him is the American people know it too. Along with the terroristic insurrection enveloping our cities and the infringement upon our lives and livelihoods on the pretext of a phony pandemic emergency, the Green New Deals, the massive tax increases, the elimination of our borders, the resumption of insane social engineering policies such as AFFH which will destroy the suburbs, and the continued persecution and dismantling of American values, institutions and the rewriting of history - all of which Joe Biden approves, which is to say his puppet masters approve - is also scaring the living shit out of an ever-growing number of Americans.

It ain't just me.

11 As much as I'd very much like for it to not be true, the polling numbers cannot be *THAT* wrong again. You'd have to assume that the polling operations learned not-a-thing from 2016 which I find very hard to believe.

It's going to get worse, I'm afraid. Whether Trump wins or loses doesn't matter. If he loses, they'll be empowered to continue to ramp up the violence against non-believers. If he wins they'll be more motivated to ramp up the violence against non-believers.

Right now we're at petty little crap, but they're moving on to trying to assassinate citizens who won't stop their cars for the rioters.

I don't look forward to seeing what they move on to from here.

See the article about polling. Not from 2016 but from 1988.

Polling is an institution that is not meant to reflect public opinion but to SHAPE public opinion.

They have learned nothing because they are not in the business to be honest in the first place.

QED.

29 I would not read any assessment of Trump's re-election prospects through the behavior of the democrats. Some may see "desperation" but I simply see a default mania and rage at the possibility and opportunity -- deluded or otherwise -- of taking down Trump. They are going all-out, period.

Trump's problem, unfairly or not, is being perceived as the leader who keeps pointing out crimes, depredations, corruptions, but can't seem to really do anything about it or find the people who can. I think this is largely unfair. But a lot of people are very frustrated.

If you actually look at the internals of the polls, yes they can and are. And it's not just 2016. In late July 1988, Dukakis led Bush by 17 point, 55 to 38. Bush won easily.

We go through this almost every cycle. Media polls before Labor Day are of all adults or registered voters and their party weighting is all over the map.

Republicans have shrunk the partisan advantage in Florida to the lowest level since 1972. Trump has over a 90% approval rating in the Republican party and is building strength with latinos and and blacks. Joe still hasn't left his basement but he's beating Trump in FL by 5 points?

Oh, ok.

A couple of days ago, rhennigantx mentioned several items about Fauci, not the first time I've seen the claims, but I would like to have sources other than "an Ace commenter" for my post. I could go duckducking, but I thought asking here might get me the info better & faster. Or maybe I'm just lazy.

Sources for any of these?

• Let 10 children die in AIDS test even after he knew deaths were too high.
• Spent AIDS research money on parties and funding for AIDS testing, zero prevention.
• Started WHUFLU testing when Obama shut down CDC testing... so he [Fauci] contracted out the virus weaponization to Wuhan to get around Obama's orders.

Now, while expecting others do my research for me, I'm a'gonna pour me anuthre cuppa covfefe and roll around in the headlines.

The Dancing Tik-Tok Nurses and Cowering Teachers have NOTHING on the heroicness of the retail workers. And the retail workers don't consider themselves heroic. They're just doing their jobs.

Cashier at King Soopers told me a little while back: "A few months ago people were 'thanking me for my service' like I'm a first responder or something. It was embarassing. I'm a supermarker cashier. Thank God they've stopped that stuff."

117 Hostage life:

This morning as I boarded the R train at 8th street (maskless, same as always) I noticed a sign scrawled on the wall in sharpie. "Kill Chinise" it said, spelling intentional.

Two weeks ago, inspired by the seeming quiet since the end of the riots, my tiny asian girlfriend decided to take the dog for a longer walk. She was shoved and accosted by a black homeless man 1/2 a block from our house and told to "go back where she came from!!!!" (she was born in Oregon and raised in Brooklyn, but that was obviously not what he meant. ).

Our neighbors all stood by and watched while this tiny woman (picture Michelle Malkin only Taiwanese) was chased down the street with a french bulldog in her arms, while this escapee from a mental institution chased her railing obscenities. In the end she was frightened, but unharmed.

I was at my midtown office at the time and could do nothing.
We looked around the neighborhood for him later in the afternoon, but by then he had enough good sense to decamp.

This weekend we were in Washington Square when a tiny pro-asian rally showed up with an escort from the Guardian Angels. Curtis looked cheerful and uncompromising - same as always. Speaking frankly it was a relief to me. Like it or not, I can't be there to protect her 24-7, and it's not safe for her to leave the house alone. Seeing those red beret's during the day would be a comfort.

For now she and the dog are back to sticking very near our front door. And any errands wait until I can be there to escort her.

No one is coming for me, and woe unto them if they try. But that doesn't stop anyone from praying on the smallest and weakest among us. This is 2020 NYC.

As one of the officers attempts to handcuff McCreary, she manages to get out of his grasp and pulls a gun from her waist, firing as she runs down the street.

NC's isn't official with bargaining power but it's understood. They're a reliable voting bloc and even have separate retirement and pay scales. I believe the estimates from 2016 were that about 15% of Bernie's supporters in the primary either did not vote of voted Green.

I somehow don't think that number is going to get better for 2020.

Oh, and my normal point about the Libertarian Party finding about 3 million votes that it never had in history ever (going from 1% to 3.5% of the popular vote total). That's probably going to end up going back to the historical norm for the LP as a lot of those newly found Libertarian voters don't go back to the LP, instead choosing to go Republican again.

I mean, if you were a voter who couldn't bring yourself to vote for either candidate in 2016, the Green Party is the natural fit for Democrats and the Libertarian Party is the natural fit for Republicans.

I predict that the LP vote will be less than 2% of the vote total (down from the 3.5% high...heh) and the Green Party will actually increase it's vote from 2016 from 1% to at least 1.5%.

That's the thing about these "protests" that get to "energetic". This is how a mob of people not accustomed to actual violence work their way up to it. using reinforcing actions and propaganda to escalate the nonviolent to the violent.

Someone should ask some smaht psychiatrologist if these tactics are a pathway to whipping up violence. I am sure some smaht person has studied that in the context of "conservatives" and made the proclamation. I am sure that there is mountains of studies that show this, and that lefty smaht people who produced would now disavow it. Cause new reasons this week.

286 I think the most annoying conversation I've had recently was listening to a friend of mine lament about how if we had just shut everything down from the beginning, we wouldn't be in this position. We could have paid the people in the food industry to keep working and shut everything else down. He also said we should have stayed shut down for two more months, and then, the business he works for would have been fine. Now, I don't mind having this type of discussion, but the fact that we were having it while we were at his son's soccer practice, and he didn't recognize the irony is what put me over the top.

288 Mourning doves have nested in one of my hanging plants on the front porch. By the time I noticed it, there were already two eggs in there, so of course I can't remove it. Looked it up, and apparently the eggs take two weeks to hatch, and then another two weeks before the babies leave the nest.

And of course it's the plant that's closest to the front door, so I have to use the back door for the next month unless I want to be a baby bird murderer by stressing them out too much.

2016 was the year that the Libertarian Party could have made something of itself, but they nominated Gary Johnson and they still managed 3.5% of the vote.

Plus, Evan McMuffin won't be running and I doubt there will be a comparable candidate. He took about 400,000 votes (mostly from Utah).

I think there's going to be a lot of returning home or simply going to the other side for a lot of those third party voters.

In the city of Columbus, we saw, much to our shock and dismay, signs that read "Dr. Amy Acton Fan Club" on some lawns. 326 I am increasingly starting to reject the "for the economy" justification for law changes, and am doing so 100% of the time when it comes from the Left. The Left doesn't care about the economy, they care about the culture. Well, so do I. I just want a different cultural outcome.

Whenever the Left makes a "for the economy" argument, it is *always* something culturally significant and deleterious (drugs, San Francisco gay sex dungeons, euthanasia, socialized medicine, whatever). When they make a "for the economy" argument, as near as I can tell, it is because it is a policy to put another lead slug in the culture and it is their only hope of getting enough non-Left votes to pass it. Will legalizing gay sex dungeons help the economy? Maybe. I haven't read the study. But is the cultural cost worth the economic boost they claim? No, it isn't.

I no longer buy *any* "for the economy" argument from the Left. I will consider such an argument from the Right (though not necessarily the GOP), but I don't even consider it from the Left anymore.

350 Good morning.

I listened to the audio of the Austin shooting.

It's quite obvious someone fired shots from a long arm which was then followed up by shots from a side arm.

Even better, the guy that got killed, the guy was interviewed shortly before it happened, wanting to know why he was armed, and he said because we're not allowed to march in the streets, it's his right, and the people who normally confront him are pussies and wouldn't do anything about it.

389 Oregon Muse,

A quick review of a book I bought yesterday at a bargain store.

Operation Nemesis: The Assassination Plot that Avenged The Armenian Genocide by Eric Bogosian is built around the Armenian assassination of Talat Pasha, fugitive ex Minister of the Interior of the Ottoman Empire and convicted of war crimes, in 1921 in Berlin. But it goes into the history and customs of the all the belligerents.

For example when the Ottoman Sultan in 1826 wiped out the 10,000 man Janissary force in one night. With the final battle of the doomed Janissary being fought in the underground lake of Constantinople that the Byzantine's had built.

But there is a major caveat as to the scholarship. When he talks about the West and the US, the author is a bit facile spouting things as true that in truth seem off. When I started to read the list sources it leaped out at me, along with Sir Winston Churchill is listed a book by Ward Churchill.

So reader beware.
