Burger King Commercial Pushes #Woke Agitprop Against... Um, Their Own Chief Product

The ad is about Burger King's minor efforts -- "It's a start," they say -- to reduce the methane in their millions of cows' farts and thus save the atmosphere.

Seems to me that if we want more than "a start," we should just make large-scale beef farming illegal, no?

If a #Woke corporation wants us to pass a law that will bankrupt them, who am I to say "No"?

Note that this law will only apply to Burger King, though.

I think we should start forcing multinational megacorporations to pay the costs of their virtue signaling.

But I'm sure the Chamber of Commerce-funded Conservative, Inc. corporate account mouth-hookers will insist they should be held harmless from their own Marxist agitations.

78 From wiki:

Soybeans

Livestock feed
One of the major uses of soybeans globally is as livestock feed, predominantly in the form of soybean meal. In the European Union, for example, though it does not make up most of the weight of livestock feed, soybean meal provides around 60% of the protein fed to livestock.[128] Spring grasses are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, whereas soy is predominantly omega-6. The soybean hulls, which mainly consist of the outer coats of the beans removed before oil extraction, can also be fed to livestock, as well as whole soybean seeds after processing."

The last time I ate there was during a long drive, it was directly off of I-5 and I had to go to the bathroom really, really bad. I wrapped up the half eaten horror while on the road and rolled up the bag super-tight because the burger stench was making me sick.

Then I burped the poison "flame broiled" fumes (have they looked into that?) for the next 3 hours. I'd like to know what sort of methane comes off of people that ate there, or the diarrhea they get afterwards.

I couldn't stop going. Not all the time but a few times a month when I had the change and my body had time to recoup. I had to prepare myself though. An empty stomach wouldn't work so something from the snack machine about half an hour before and I had to wash it all down with lots of beverage. Five Guys is sort of a next rung up kind of place. Better than In-N-Out, but also pricier. I prefer Mooyah (not sure how big of a chain it is), and Much prefer Habit Burger Grill - which tastes like something I'd make. What makes Habit Burger special is it's almost as inexpensive as In-N-Out. Their fries are excellent, they put grilled onions on the burger, and the meat is tasty. They also have things like chicken clubs or patty melts. Sadly, that's the furthest of all. But, a burger combo is under $9.

Again, regional. I'd love to try a Whataburger someday.

Soy products tend to give people gas. You can pay to have a cow make the methane, or pay to do it yourself. As others have pointed out, 1. natural sources beyond our control dwarf cow methane, 2. methane is not warming the planet significantly anyway.

Every crack-brained urgent danger the Left comes up can only be solved by giving up prosperity, freedom, fairness, cheap energy, and high quality food, basically anything good we have going for us. It's an op, it's meant to weaken us, it's war.

But anyway, Burger King resembles a high functioning alcoholic with a bad temper and dirty house, that finally fell over the edge and is off to skid row.

Good burgers and nice options for sides. And of course great frozen yogurt.

Not sure if they do this at all locations, but at the one here, they have everyone pull up through the drive-thru line and wait to have their food brought out. Because they supposedly are making the burgers fresh when you order. They are definitely hot when they come out and taste good.

And washing everything down with a cool Concrete Mixer afterward is definitely a winner.

They really seem to vary. What I don't like about them is the buns are kind of doughy, and wrapping in foil just steams it. The fries are crazy, almost a joke. A literal grocery bag of potatoes. They're good if you like a LOT of fried potatoes. I've got one kitty-corner to an In-N-Out, and go to the latter far more often.

Mooyah burgers blow Five Guys away, the Angus beef (same smash method) gets nice and crispy on the edges, and is tasty as heck. They bake their buns there, potato buns or honey-wheat. Tasty but not amazing fries, and yummy sweet potato fries as well.

Still, put Habit Burger at the top. But for me, it's kind of like comfort food. Been eating them for over 40 years and always stopped when in Santa Barbara (AFTER having lobster tacos on the pier first mind you!). One opened sort of nearby, so if I have to make a costco or harbor freight run, they're on the list.

333 Discovered Culver's here in SE Michigan a few years back. After they opened one in my neighborhood.

One source said 97% goes to animal feed, but that may have just been the portion of soy meal ... there are some oils and a few other uses.

"According to a study funded by the soy checkoff, the soybean meal fed in the U.S. goes to several segments of animal agriculture.

Poultry eats about 64 percent.
Pigs consume nearly 24 percent.
Beef and dairy cattle use just over 10 percent.
The rest goes to aquatic farming like fish and shrimp, other farm animals and companion animals like horses and pets.

Years ago they had a small menu: A regular charbroiled burger, a small one, a regular with cheese and a small with cheese; and maybe a fish sandwich, I don;t recall. Good tasting food, and the restaurants all had this ski-lodge look with a fireplace (lit only during Dec. and Jan. around here) in the middle of the room. Cold drinks served in pewter-looking mugs.

Something happened, and I think they have only 1 or 2 locations around now. Linda and I visited the closest one early this year, and it was still pretty good.

We have this place in Portland ME called Nosh that ... quite simply has the best burgers ever. They do all kinds of crazy shit with their burgers but their plain ole Nosh burger is amazing.

The crazy ones are fun to get once. For example there's one burger where the buns are deep fried slabs of Mac'n-cheese. Another where the buns are donuts. A lot of these are collaborations with the owner's other restaurants in town. The bacon dusted fries are divine though.

Then they built one that I drive by everyday. Shortly after they opened I went to the drive through and was surprised by the new selection...

I went with the 'Double Bubba Bacon Cheese Burger Deluxe with Chili Whatever".
They asked if I wanted to make that a combo. No just the burger.
Want fries or drink with that. No just the burger.

Got home. Opened it up.

It was just a plain fvcken bun with two meat patties.
No condiment, bacon, cheese, deluxe, or chili.

That was eight years ago.

Still flip them off twice a day as I drive by.

Oh wait, you guys order the "hamburger" don't you? I forget about that! There's no way I can shove a regular burger in my face. I always get the little burger, 1 1/4 lb patty is plenty for me. I ordered a regular burger there the first time, I had no idea it'd come with half a cow. So yeah, that would get pricey.

Try getting the small burger, it's not as much of an overload. I'm just not crazy about the ingredients they've got, and they also seem to taste better if you eat it there instead of letting it steam in the foil wrapper. They always seem wet and yucky by the time you get them home.

I'm wondering if the one by me is going to survive long, it's in a weird spot and at least here you can only get certain items for curbside pickup (I just looked). Much easier to go to In-N-Out since it's almost designed for this covid BS.

I'm not a biologist but there's something I've wondered for a long time. I'm sure somebody here smarter than me (not a great accomplishment, so don't look too proud) can probably answer it. I've heard all the "soy is full of phytoestrogen" stuff and never really figured out whether it's true or bullshit, but I've observed real-life phenomena which might confirm it.
I live in rural Pennsylvania, which is of course chest-deep in whitetail deer. When I was growing up, even into my 20's and 30's, you saw a lot of big bucks around here. The rut started in about September and lasted through archery season in October. That time of year, you could practically stand on a street corner rattling antlers, and draw in a buck or two.
Now, years later, there are few hunters, yet fewer large bucks. The bucks you do see are smaller in stature with smaller racks, and nowhere near as aggressive. The rut starts far later and doesn't last nearly as long as it did before. You can post up and rattle all day, and if there's a buck out there to hear it, he as likely or not won't care.
The only difference I can see is, when I was a younger man, every field around here was planted thick with corn. Those same fields are now planted in soybeans, as far as the eye can see. Are soy-fed deer losing their "maleness," for want of a better term, or is all this soy stuff just bullshit? Asking honestly.

This guy noticed that the lettering could be rubbed out with an eraser.

Erasing the 'r' in 'Your', the 'C' in 'Country', then the right down-bar in 'o', and everything after the 't', it left an image of Uncle Sam pointing and saying, 'you c*nt'.

I dunno...maybe because they've improved themselves over the years. Ya think?

And, of course, you need to explain why ALLl BKs seem to avoid closure by paying off ALL Health Inspectors over that period.

If you went only to one BK to get the shits etc....is it still there? If so, explain why ALL its customers have not shunned the company and driven them out of business a long time ago.

From my POV, this is all a hangover from the "junk food" bullshit of twenty years ago, when beef hamburgers were considered "junk". Since then we've learned that the"inverted pyramid" favoring carbs was a creature of Big Grain lobbyists, and totally bad "science."

Protein and fats (except for trans) are now recognized as being essential to human nutrition.

Which is why we have so many obese people today. Living on "low fat" carbs, and pigging out when they do.
