The Morning Report - 6/29/20

ruffridn.jpg

Good morning, kids. Start of a new week and the battle for the soul of this nation and perhaps its very existence continues as we approach its 244th birthday, the mad ravings of the psychotic Pull-It-Surprise-winning spokes-bigot for Krylon Ultra Sheen notwithstanding.

While "protests" that now have very little to do with the death of a black career criminal at the hands of unfit police officers from a Democrat-controlled police department and criminal justice system within a Democrat-controlled city and state continue, the silver bullet sure to cure us of our original sin of inherent racism - the wholesale abolition of police forces - continues. With it comes a spike in violent crime in such shining cities on a hill as New York and Chicago, as a result of incompetent Marxism or Marxist incompetence of their mayors that have decriminalized crime while handcuffing the efforts to combat it.

Along another sector of the front, the push to give our national identity a pre-frontal lobotomy continues unabated with the Republican governor of Mississippi Tate Reeves saying he will vote in favor of removing the Confederate portion of the state flag. Okay, I see why that might be a target, and has been a target for decades now. But the continued attempts to remove everyone from Lincoln and Teddy Roosevelt, to now renaming John Wayne Airport and doing away with the term "master bedroom" would be laughable were it not for the fact that millions of people out there, thanks to two generations of brainwashing at the hands of American academia, are nodding their empty heads in agreement. Look on the bright side; the anti-porn crusaders could have an in if they can abolish the word "masturbate"...

While our society crashes down before our eyes, or at least appears that way courtesy of the press-credentialed propagandists, everyone is looking to the President for a way out of this. Over the weekend, I got call from a dear friend who was alarmed by Chuck Grassley criticizing the President Trump about something on camera in some interview. As I was in the middle of preparing dinner, and didn't want to talk all that loudly about politics with certain individuals of the liberal persuasion within earshot, I got a little bit short with him and ended the call.

While I was trying to reassure him that the press will lie about what people say in order to sow discord, and that I did agree with him that while Grassley might have been right in his criticism, he should've kept his yap shut in public, I just couldn't seem to talk my buddy off of the ledge. And to be honest, yes, all of this crap is just so utterly overwhelming. To see businesses burned out, bodies piling up, statues being defiled and destroyed or legally taken down by municipalities, on top of the four months of imposed imprisonment due to the phony pandemic panic from the Chinese Lung AIDS, does not fill one with strength and confidence about this coming November, let alone the future.

Agitprop media lying and smearing notwithstanding, President Trump appears outwardly, and understandably, to be lost. Or is he? Is it just the enormity of the one-two punch of Sino-Sinus Syphilis having torpedoed the economy followed on by civil unrest that makes the 60s almost pale in comparison? There are calls for the President to act and forcefully to control the latter as the former starts fading into the background. And even at that, the Democrats (and sadly some Republicans) are using the spike in case numbers which ironically, seen alongside the death rate remaining flat should actually hasten full re-opening across the board and not bring about another lockdown.

Circling back to President Trump, some feel that by him letting the blue cities and states burn puts the spotlight on the failure and malfeasance of the Democrats. While this is as close to an absolute truth as you can get, somehow the messaging is not getting out there. Or is it?

... Trump's campaign has suggested that riots and more disorder will happen if Biden is elected. The problem with this argument is that disorder is already happening now under President Trump.

Admittedly, Trump has had a difficult fight from the beginning. He has been hamstrung by investigations, a hostile deep state resistance from career civil servants, and a nakedly partisan propaganda campaign by the media. Nevertheless, he has a job to do. He's not merely citizen Trump. He's not just an observer. It's his FBI. It's his government to run. It's his military to command. If he can't run it, he needs to fire people until he can get the right people where they belong...

The notion about not being an observer is interesting in that it kind of jibes with Rush Limbaugh's "Limbaugh theorem" about Obama. Whatever crisis or failure was happening, Obama always claimed that he was running against it, or only read about it in the papers, when he himself was the cause of it or putatively had the power to end it if he was not the source of it. Not that I think Trump is ducking and dodging the problem, which is certainly not his fault, if it is perhaps the cause of it all insofar as yet another attempt to remove him from office, now or in November.

But that said, if he were to declare a national emergency, doing so would play directly into the hands of the Democrat-Media Complex that has accused him from day one of being literally Hitler ready to impose a dictatorship on America. Talk about projection. He has got to walk a thin line, but at some point I do agree that his campaign messaging has got to pointedly and constantly put all of this destruction squarely at the feet of the Democrats. I think it is time for Make America Great Again to be retired and something akin to Keep America Free or Defend Independent American Freedom - DIAF. (sarc). He is walking a knife-edge, but in reality, does anyone really think that with the house burning down all around us that Trump is going to actually lose voters? That is madness. And that said, it's not enough to send a donation to the campaign or wear a MAGA or DIAF hat.

Recently, I read with great interest James Lindsay's essay called "The Woke Breaking Point." There, he invites his readers to ask friends and acquaintances "What would it take for you to say that the Woke movement has gone too far?" This, he suggests, is a way to help people keep themselves honest: if you consider in advance what state of affairs, specifically, would be "too far," then you will be able to recognize better the excesses of the totalitarian Left and more ready to resist them at the point when it becomes absolutely necessary.

Reframing the question, he writes: "Ask. When is enough, enough?"...

If you have had "enough," I'm asking that you do something. Ask yourself: given my own gifts and my own limitations, how can I contribute? For all of us, this will require some sacrifice. This means you also have to consider what, specifically, you are willing and able to sacrifice. But if you're unwilling to sacrifice anything -- if you're unwilling to respond in any way other than casting a ballot -- then it doesn't matter what you say: you haven't had enough.

On that note, there are some people at least who are willing to do something, and in of all places right in the belly of the beast. A group of about 150 people gathered over the weekend to protest and protect the statue of Teddy Roosevelt from being removed in front of the American Museum of Natural History - an institution that was founded by Roosevelt himself.

A woman who believes progressives are trying to "erase history" by demanding statues go down gave counter-protesters a piece of her mind.

"You're a domestic terrorist group and we will see to it that you fall and you fall so hard, you won't know what hit you" she said... "This is not about race anymore. It never really was. This is about taking apart the fabric of America."

If you want to make an omelet, you're going to have to break a few eggs. The question is who are the eggs and who are the crackers (no pun [maybe])? As for President Trump, the best thing for him and for us is to let him be himself. Now that said, I think there is still a golden opportunity to use this insanity against the Democrats. I believe most of black America is aghast and appalled at Black Lives Matter/Antifa terrorism as well as the abuse at the hands of the Democrat Party since time immemorial. For sure, the President's policies pre-Peking Pox panic opened a lot of eyes in that regard. I think it's a golden opportunity for the Golden Scalp Weasel to take this insanity and shove it back down the Left's maw.

Our local sherriff issued a statement that they can't/won't enforce it and pointed out that it's unfair that the government expects private business owners to act as its enforcer in the matter. If anything it appears less people are wearing masks.

Think we need to start a campaign to contact Fox to let them know that spending July 4th w/freaking Louis Farrakhan is a TERRIBLE idea.

Why am I surprised they are trying to normalize him? Doing so on July 4th is evil. Someone is really trying to demoralize normies with that.

34 "...doing so would play directly into the hands of the Democrat-Media Complex."

I believe this is something of a phantom fear which has afflicted nay paralyzed Republicans for too long. We have reflexively ceded a sweeping veto power over our capacity to act to the media. Trump's singular talent or gift was he had no regard for this phantom.

Trump said (and, in most cases, performed) what was "right." Common sense, basic truth, what people knew to be right and true, and he had the balls to say it and do it. To paraphrase "The Winslow Boy," -- Let right be done.

He just needs to follow that principle. That simplicity is his strength, and it is supported by most Americans.

36 I don't think Trump is going to lose voters in this insane political environment (and all this is political, it's not about a virus or injustice), but he has to step up and address both issues or we very well may usher in the Biden Presidency. Trump supporters aren't going to vote for Biden, but it's very possible that Trump supporters simply aren't going to vote. The rank and file of the GOP has been deceived, disappointed, ignored, and abandoned too many times. Trump reversed that trend until now. Increasingly, it seems that only thing that stands between us and survival is the 2nd amendment, which you can kiss goodbye if the Dems sweep this November. Don't forget that they are certainly ratcheting up their cheating schemes, so victory will be even harder this time around.

A rough transcription:

Dr. Janette Nesheiwat:
[with increased number of hospitalizations and cases ]...it puts a strain during July, which is a important time of year, because we tend to see more deaths in the month of July because of the new, um, health care professionals that are entering, ah, the residency program. So we've got a lot to do. It comes down to simply....

Arthel Neville:
Wait, wait a minute, wait, wait, stop, stop, stop, wait, wait, wait: ... you just said in the month of July you see death rates increase because you've got new students or medical, you know, professionals coming online...

Dr. Janette Nesheiwat:
Sure, yes, July typically the month where we have doctors that graduate medical schools enter residency. Sometimes we tend to see increase in the rate of medical errors and deaths. Um, that's just something that's, um, you know, well known in the medical field.

Ah, So, that just goes to show you we have the burgeoning of this virus with new doctors on board, of course they are being supervised...

45 If you don't think Trump's campaign "strategy" is destined for failure, think again. He needs to change, and change quickly. He's personally insulated himself due to the attacks against him and the constant disloyalty. It seems he believes a recovering economy and showing how bad the opposition is will be enough to win.

It isn't.

People want something to vote FOR. They want leadership. They want that signature Trump "fire in the belly", energy and consistency on issues he's famous for. They want to hear more about what American is, and our collective ideals, not Twitter sniping at the opposition.

I don't know where it's gone, but it is not currently part of anything he's doing.

He doesn't need to energize the "base". He needs to convince people we need to win to vote for him, and not sit home or fall to the false narratives of the left.

He seems obsessed with this notion. But it was a blinkered vision from the beginning -- it never factored in the seething and imminent civil war with which he'd been brutally acquainted in his campaign. As he has harshly learned, the most booming economy can be shattered in a matter of months if not weeks.

It was never "the economy stupid." It was always "Leftist subversion and cultural Marxism, stupid."

By far the worst haircuts I've ever had have been by "qualified professionals".

73 Trump's campaign has suggested that riots and more disorder will happen if Biden is elected. The problem with this argument is that disorder is already happening now under President Trump.

-

No, the problem with the argument is you not being able to understand that if Trump fixes your local problems they're still your local problems.

When he is out of office, be it this year or in 2024, they'd still be your local problems.

Fix it locally. I know it sucks, and I know it's hard, and I know direct action like BLM surrounding politicians houses and threatening violence is crude and uncouth and not the way we do things, but you've got to understand that, if you're in a place where riots and murders and terrorisms are being allowed to happen by the politicians, you've already let "the way we do things" pass by.

The ball is in your court. If Trump comes in to fix your problem then the problem remains.

People crave leadership and vision. He isn't giving people any of that. A lot of citizens see what is going on and worry about the future. They worry where this ends and how we get past it.

So they want someone who can demonstrate how to bring us together. He has done zero to show how he will do that other than constantly going to the economic line about how that lifts up everyone. Great point, but it's a punchline, not a complete strategy.

As a result, he's leaving an opening for Biden, real or not. People are starting to get this notion that Biden might be viable. They don't see "him", they see an alternative to Trump currently vacuous leadership.

That's not good, and it's not something that will change closer to the election. The strategy is clearly to keep Biden bottled up and stage managed, and they are doing a good job of it. A few debates, if they ever happen, won't be enough to change that.

Then each and every Republican needs to remind Progda that it was the Democrat mayors who are at fault for letting all this happen to us. Hold them personally responsible for the damage they purposely caused. At this point, the law and their alleged legal immunity is irrelevant: they caused this when they could have stopped it.

The Democrat mayors bear the moral and legal responsibility for scores of deaths and billions of dollars of destruction. The voting public needs to be reminded of this 24/7 in much the same manner as we're seeing BLM shoved down our throats.

Pelosi just did that with the "what do Russians have on Trump, this is as bad as it gets" ... over what Trump had to fight back against ... The "Russia is paying Taliban to kill Americans" rumor, Trump said it was not in his briefing because the found it not credible.

But that means the not credible intel got leaked to media ... and this is the constant war, same as the old Trump/Russia lie built by our FBI and their seditionists. And the media plays their major role of giving credence to every such lie ... as they did for three years on Comey/Mueller/Impeach coup efforts.

Using the normal 35 million number or even this recent CDC Redfields 25 million number for the Chinese covid gives a very low fatality percentage

155 so I was in this little tourist town in Wisconsin's Door County, looking for parking on the Main Street, and there's maybe 10 idiots, all of them white, on the sidewalk with BLM signs. The idiot that stood out was this old hippie with a sign "Grannie fighting for social justice." I found a parking spot quite a way from that gaggle of fools, but Im sorry now I didn't walk up to her and ask her how holding a sign in a small, overwhelmingly white town in North east Wisconsin was "fighting" or accomplishing anything for black people. If she really wanted to help black people, she'd be volunteering to teach inner city kids to read. But nobody sees you doing that. Its much easier to parade around with a sign in front of a bunch of other white people so they can all see how "good" you are. On the upside, I got into a conversation with a family visiting from Florida and I made a reference to the protesters. the woman told me she had been a Dem up until 2016, but she had it. that's the second conversation in 2 days I've had with strangers who told me they were voting for trump after I made my own political sympathies clear.

156 Regarding the silencing of conservatives, the website where my dear friend John Derbyshire (ex. National Review) now writes, is very close to being driven onto the 'dark web'.
You may not like John or his opinions, though speaking personally he's a much more modest and temperate man than his critics would have you believe.
But his opinions are simply that, opinions. They are not molotov cocktails, or bricks through windows. He isn't asking to have his criminal behavior forgiven, he's asking to be allowed to think what he chooses to think and to tell people those thoughts. If our leadership has its way, then the only place he'll be allowed to do that is the dark web.
I'm not sure of the rules here so I haven't mentioned the site name. I have no desire to inflict the same fate on this site.
But you all can easily find it. I'd urge you to please have a look. If for no other reason that when it's gone, someone will be able to tell the story of how it went. Thanks.

I think Twitter (and other social media) develop their policing policies along the line of 'sue and settle' lawsuits that the Left uses to institute new regulations. They provide an avenue for lefties to complain about an account, and from that a justification to shut them down, even only temporarily.

Obviously Powell didn't call for violence or say anything racial. Undoubtedly a lefty complained she was 'repeating Russian disinformation' or something like that and -poof!- Twitter brings down the restriction as a harassment technique.

My parents went shopping in NYC, had trouble getting a top shelf item and a black clerk immediately ran to help them, helping them check out the items, and started talking about how he hated what was going on out there and didn't agree with any of it. He all but put a MAGA hat. He was such a blessing to my parents.

There are a lot of minorities against the protest.riots but they are VERY quiet right now, so we have no idea how big their numbers really are.

Were it not for Trump, it would still suck though we may not have been aware of the sucking.

With Trump, everything is out in the open. I prefer that. Yup, painful to watch and experience, and the nation is on a knife edge. Still, fully awake to this is better than the slow march off the cliff that we were heading towards since Bush 41.

Went for a walk along the harbor of a nearby town - they have lovely flowers, monuments, flags up for the 4th, and a dog-friendly beach. Saw a group of guys standing and sitting around one of the (non-political) monuments. Protesters? Nope. A bunch of classic car enthusiasts, who I assume were having an informal gathering (scheduled summer events likely cancelled). Fabulous classic cars lined the street. No one wanting to destroy, or rage.

I am NOT a doctor and this may or may not be related but I post it for what it is worth.

My dad, who was very healthy all his life, started slowly building up calcium in his system due to a thyroid problem. He did nothing about and then after 10 years, the plaque so clogged his coronary artery that he needed a triple bypass. And the wildly elevated calcium messed up his personality to boot. He was admitted to the hospital around Halloween and ultimately died the following March. He was wrecked.

Anecdotal for what it's worth.

Charles Wurster sent one Yak heading for the ground, the pilot bailed out to find his parachute was a streamer. 2nd Lt John Thomas then nailed the second Yak with a quick burst. 321 President Trump was front and center just about every day during the height of the Kung Flu panic. And every day, immediately after the briefings, the whore media ( but I repeat myself) was lying; misquoting and selectively editing his messages.

If memory serves, many commenters here just wanted Trump to pull back and NOT talk directly to the people so much.

Now he is too reticent and it displays weakness?

Do you know what the dems are doing right now? They are circling their wagons around their candidate and promising to vote dem, no matter what. Let me repeat: no matter what. It doesn't matter to them who runs, they only want their side to win.

We should be so resolute.

We have a vast source of resources here on this blog. All those gun threads about self-defense are enlightening, awesome and much appreciated and they may save someone's life someday. I'd be interested to see ideas from other Horde-sters about how we can help not only get Trump over the finish line for the win, but how we can reshape our towns and states at a local level. How do we help MAGA candidates get elected locally? How to we sway school boards? How do we support and create arts that ennoble and portray American values? We need to also go on the OFFENSE now, at every level, so we can save the republic. The left figured out long ago that winning is the only goal.

329 Everything I've seen from Seattle, Portland, etc... still shows that those mayors have the solid support of at least 60% of the local population.

That's not treason. That's self-rule. And, frankly, I have no inclination to support a permanent occupation of those areas, to enforce a level of law and order on a majority of people that clearly demonstrate they do not want it.

Because that's what it would take. Permanent occupation for the next two generations. Intense political indoctrination for the generation following that.

And that - boys and girls - would be the end of this Republic. If we're going to end it, and I'm all ears if that's what you want, there are much easier ways.

357 I don't think we should succumb to the word choices the left has decreed we should use. For instance, racist. If you don't agree with their stance on anything, you are a racist? Not true. George Floyd was not killed because he was black. But if you follow the demands of these protesters, defunding the police , they seem to believe that the police are racists. They totally put the blame on the police, not the bad decisions on the part of the "victims" that led to the altercations. And racist should mean that people prefer their own race. So racist is the wrong word for them to use. The police, and society in general, are not against Asians, Greeks, or blacks or whites. In black neighborhoods, where crime is more prevalent, it's a culture thing-not race.

Much of what is so demoralizing, to me, is the unequal application of rules and law. Conservative rallies and events get denied permits, are stopped by law enforcement (or law enforcement turns a blind eye to violent counter protests), are slandered in the media, etc. Leftist agitators are allowed to run wild, destroying property and injuring people to the point of establishing CHAZ, with nothing but praise.

Business is similar...you can't boycot woke corporations that bend the knee, because alternatives don't exist, and if they do, they are hindered by big tech (and increasingly crowd funding and banking institutions) so they can't grow or advertise.

Let's suppose for a moment your assertion--which for the record is amazingly dubious, naive at best and an outright deception at worst--is actually correct.

If a region within the borders of the United States has 60% of the population no longer willing to abide by the laws and Constitution of said United States, those people have in effect forfeited their citizenship and now constitute an occupying power. As ugly as it would be, a nation state willing to preserve its sovereignty and integrity is obliged to put an end to that condition, either by ejecting the occupiers or by means I'd rather not contemplate, but which history records many examples of. Simply allowing such things to continue unchallenged is suicide.

We are way, way past the good options. Pick your bad options and be honest about it.

How is it we have so many in the media, politics, academics, entertainments saying things like "abolish whiteness" and that's ho-hum?

It was linked here yesterday, but I've not seen it show up anywhere else in the blogosphere.

My ggogle fu sucks, and I can't find it myself.

Suffice to say it was a bunch of old coots in the Villages protesting and counterprotesting each other.

One guy, holding a Trump sign, got cuaght on video yelling back at a counterprotester "WHITE POWER".

I clicked off it shortly thereafter as my BP was about to spike dangerously!

415 If a region within the borders of the United States has 60% of the population no longer willing to abide by the laws and Constitution of said United States, those people have in effect forfeited their citizenship and now constitute an occupying power.

Like I said - there are easier ways to end this relationship.

Lets think this through. We roll in troops to Portland. Are we going to shoot all these protesters ? No. Are we going to jail them ? No. Are they going to be peaceful whenever the troops go home ? No.

Lets say we remove every Portland official that's balls deep complicit in giving the rioters room to destroy. Will the new ones Portland voters pick be any different ? No. Will the next generation of Portland residents be any different ? No.

Do we have the will to permanently occupy Portland ? No. Do it long enough to indoctrinate a new generation of Portlanders ? No.

Then troops area a waste of time. Portland must change from within, or be isolated from the rest of us.

433 Speaking of the Crusades-

Once when I was in Tokyo, I came across a beautiful set of pre-20th century Encyclopedia Britanica. Unfortunately, way too e pensive to buy.

However, as I was scanning through the volumes, I came across the section on the Crusades.

These aren't the exact words but the gist of the opening paragraph was-

"The Crusades were a ripping great adventure..."

So yeah, the Crusades reputation has changed a lot as Our Betters attempt to tear down Wedtern Civilzation.

441 I am generally sympathetic to the let it burn with proper messaging argument. Trump should extend his hand to the local afflicted Governments, but they need to take ownership of it, or else expose their acquiescence and be voted out in 2020.

2020 is a referendum on 1776 and this is for all the marbles.

If the country witnesses what's before our eyes and still gives Democrats the keys the car, then anything done now is but a judicious deck arrangement on our Titanic of a Republic.

But what Trump should do is to have the FBI round up any and all agitators, lock them up and throw the book at them. That can be done knock on the door quietly and is itself somewhat likely to end this thing cold. No woke upper middle class kids want to spend 10 years in prison.

Nice hash. I hate to iron.Anyway, I agree with you. People need to decide how they want to live their everyday lives. At this point, city dwellers are advised to abandon what they imagined were the benefits of living in a city - a wide variety of restaurants (which would be invaded by Antifa crims bent on destroying your appetite), cultural venues (which would be pillaged and raped over and over again, by roving hordes of butthurt activists finding fault with oppressive white culture), a better choice of employment opportunities (subject to stay-at-home orders by petty tyrants).
Find a nice conservative rural community, build relationships with neighbors who are at a comfortable distance (maybe 2 acre lots, at a minimum). Well-armed, good supply of ammo, swap garden produce/meat with neighbors, learn to hunt and be as self-sufficient as possible. Resist unnecessary shopping. All that stuff becomes trash when you die anyway.

445 Yes Abraham Lincoln a sodomite tyrant who said,

'I am not, nor ever have been, in favor of bringing about in any way the social and political equality of the white and black races, that I am not, nor ever have been, in favor of making voters or jurors of negroes, nor of qualifying them to hold office, nor to intermarry with white people; and I will say in addition to this that there is a physical difference between the white and black races which I believe will forever forbid the two races living together on terms of social and political equality ... I will add to this that I have never seen, to my knowledge, a man, woman, or child who was in favor of producing a perfect equality, social and political, between negroes and white men."

At least he wasn't a cuck like modern conservatives.

446 I have been "doing something" for twenty fucking years. I have been agitating. I have been talking. I have been pointing out facts. I have been involved in local politics. I have had letters published in periodicals. I have been writing. I have been harassed. I have been doxxed. I have been ignored.

And it's that last one that really gets to me. That the people who are supposed to have a certain level of sense and intelligence systematically react with "it's not that bad" and "why are you so uptight" and "man, just don't worry about politics" and "get that sand out of your vaj".

And NOW you fuckers are screaming and running around like your heads are cut off.

And you want ME to "do something".

Nope.

I've done my part. I've done what I can. I've also seen the way things were going, and started forting up five years ago to get me through the long haul, because I could tell that it was going to be the worst case outcome regardless of what I did.

And here we are.

Imagine where we'll be.
