Sorry to jump OT but this is from the morning thread:
Dr. Janette Nesheiwat: Sure, yes, July typically the month where we have doctors that graduate medical schools enter residency. Sometimes we tend to see increase in the rate of medical errors and deaths. Um, that's just something that's, um, you know, well known in the medical field. Ah, So, that just goes to show you we have the burgeoning of this virus with new doctors on board, of course they are being supervised... Posted by: Braenyard at June 29, 2020 08:03 AM (vW9Vw) I hate this bullshit meme. It is usually posted on FB by a nurse practitioner who got her DNP entirely online and had a whopping 600 hours of "clinic" time before graduating and demanding full respect and privileges of a physician who has a decade of training and 15-20000 hours caring for patients under supervision. Yes the interns have just graduated medical school. With 4 years and a few thousand hours of in person classroom and bedside patient care more than the NP who wants to shit on him. And in 4 years, that intern will graduate residency as a practicing physician and still feel like he doesn't know enough to be on his own cleaning up the messes left by an NP with 1/10 of the training and 1000% of the hubris. For many years in England, it was illegal to marry your dead wife's sister. A bill to permit the marriage was consistently raised in Parliament, as it would help aristocrats keep wealth in the family, but the House of Commons just as consistently defeated it.
The bill finally passed at some point either in the late 1890s or early in the reign of Edward VII. Posted by: Can't resist temptation at June 29, 2020 10:30 AM (Q4pU/) I love the jump from "this is a burden on the doc" to, "thus, it's a burden on the woman". Apparently getting admitting privileges is difficult? Would you go to the clinic of a doctor who didn't have those privileges? "Hey Doc, I've got this thing I need you to look at." 317. In my opinion, no, it is not both. But you are free to draw your own conclusion.
There were conservatives warning of Roberts when he was nominated, specifically when he was nominated to be Chief. He also barely filled out a card to join the FedSoc, and openly derided the message. While the FedSoc is not what we hoped, that was also a warning sign. It seems to be Roberts politics and judicial philosophy is left of center. 216 "Dark" starts so slowly that I fell asleep several times and finally gave up. I may give it another shot if I can stay awake cuz the commercials for the later episodes make it look interesting. Posted by: naturalfake at June 29, 2020 10:15 AM (7hCBA) **************** Second moron synchronicity of the weekend! After posts on here this weekend about Neal Stephenson books the same week as I start re-reading one, I tried giving the first season of Dark a go just last night. I'm afraid I bailed on the third episode. I started watching the the first episode on the dubbed version but it was terrible. The dubbing I mean. You could see the actors emoting like buggery to, say, the news of a missing kid only to hear some flat montone voice actor say "Oh No" with all the emotion of him realising he'd dropped some crumbs from a cake into his lap. So I switched to subtitles. Unfashionably, I'm not big on subtitles because no matter how fast you can read them I think it still really takes away from the visual experience of a movie or show. But I persevered reckoning it would be better than the dubbing. And it was. Much better. Even with its limitations. So another two episodes on this and I have to say it's very good but.....well it's just a bit too German. Far too much Sturm und Drang. I felt like I was immersed in a Rammstein video but without the envigorating power metal and sexy Snow Whites. I just wasn't in the mood, I guess. Christ knows I'm not wanting fluffy bunnies and rainbows but, honestly It was getting me down. And the rain, the constant pouring rain. Yes, I know that it's a deliberate theme - there's a clue in the title - but I live in Ulster, if I want to see incessant downpours under dank charcoal lowering skies I can look out the window. I'll probably give it a second chance when I'm in a better twist as the story was getting very intriguing. Those that aren't immune haven't had that contact. The ones that die do so from a cytokine storm caused by a FUBAR'd reaction by T cells. Loving and good parents, innate intelligence, intellectual curiosity, being taught the value of hard work, available churches, available education opportunities, physical strength and health, mental health, lack of deformities, general attractiveness, and a sense of humor are just a few other very important parts of the playing field of life.
