The Morning Rant: Minimalist Edition

Yamamoto's apocryphal quotation, "I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve," is, at least in part, an accurate description of America. We are slow to anger, we accept the status quo even when it is not in out best interests, and most of all we have accepted the slow and steady degradation of our culture and our country at the hands of our politicians.

We are a mostly apolitical people. Go to backyard barbecues or slide onto a bar stool or go to a baseball game and we won't be talking politics much. Because by and large we are doing well enough to push those issues aside. Sure, we discuss the (literally) burning issues of the day, but our default is to accept that we will eventually arrive at some accommodation, that our politicians, flawed as they are, will muddle through and get something accomplished.

No more. We no longer have the luxury of burying our heads in the sand and expecting the typical American result. Because we are now in a battle for the core values of our country. This is no longer a battle that we can ignore.

When the rule of law, the guarantees of our rights in the Constitution, the concept of equal application of the law falls by the wayside...sacrificed on the altar of progressivism, globalism and anarchy, we cannot stand back and say, "Somebody ought to do something." That somebody is us.

Vote, contact your politicians, exercise your rights as a free people, push back in whatever way you can against the encroachments of the anti-freedom, anti-liberty forces that are better prepared, more organized and certainly louder and more aggressive. Boycott the most outrageous of the corporations that are mostly arrayed against their own customers...the silent majority, the guy next you at the bar or the little league game or church. Buy weapons and learn how to use them. Create informal or formal networks of like-minded people. Speak out at town council meetings, campaign events and every public forum, and support only those politicians who are willing to join you in pushing back against the forces that will destroy American Exceptionalism.

The question is: are we going to awaken, and if we do, will it be to bend the knee or to exercise that "terrible resolve?"

it was the first time I've been in one in over 2 years, since they went leftist. I was actually stunned at the lack of ammo, not that they didn't have any, but they obviously had gotten rid of a bunch of "bad" ammo.

There is a bigger problem here than not being assertive enough.

How do you defuse a buttload of riled-up people who are angry about police brutality? Hell, in this case, it's not the most puzzling reaction. I have met some of the lower-wattage protesters around town: very young (none of them looking older than 30), mostly female too. Maybe they're being ignorant but I doubt Soros is paying them.

So, all clear on the courageous self-defense stuff. Still a lot of aimlessly angry humans here to deal with.

Saw a video earlier on a twitter feed. Guy, off camera recording, stops a young mask wearing girl walking down the street and tell her he is employed by BLM. He has been tasked to stop white people and ask them to kneel in solidarity. She dutifully gets down on her knees. By this time I am sick to my stomach. He then says to apologize for her white privelege. All this in a perfectly normal tone of voice. She then says she is not sure what to say, but apologizes. I couldn;t take anymore.

What has happened in the last week is not the end.

It may quiet down for a few weeks, but something else will start it up again.

The BLM and Antifa instigators did not take enough casualties, or get arrested in large enough numbers, to deter their next operation. And another operation will definitely come this summer.

I've been strong on the "terrible resolve" side for a long, long time, but I'm feeling a little shaken myself this morning ... tempered by the knowledge that that is the exact feeling that the enemy is trying to force on me (and all of us) by every available means.

I remember a Tet back in the day when commies won a huge victory with the aid of American "news" that was fighting on their side even then.
Without the help of traitors in America it would have been a huge defeat.

I haven't eaten from that place since they turned on the Salvation Army. I do got to Mcdonalds and they have been a bit shaky over recent years. I even have gone to BK a couple of times and they are full on lefty as a brand, and the places are usually dirty and unfriendly. But only Chick FIl A turned on its defenders. That is something I can not abide.

I bet we will never know how much they lost over that issue. But then again, It seems the attacks from the left have stopped. They made a business decision and likely decided they owned the South and their future growth required knee bending.

4. Begin an administration-wide education crash course in Leftism. Get the entire cabinet involved. Leftism and what it means must become the term of the day, preface every public utterance.

5. Form a "war room" of top well-spoken warrior conservatives such as Tammy Bruce, Candace Owens, Kurt Schlicter, David Horowitz. Develop proactive strategies to expose, embarrass, confront leftists in every corner of the culture.

I don't think I'm in an echo chamber. I work with officers and NCOs across four branches. I do support work with USNORTHCOM. The rank and file are largely OK with it. A couple I spoke to said putting down a riot is more in their wheelhouse than, say, confiscating guns door to door or handing out MREs to welfare recipients.

I don't think I'm in an echo chamber. I work with officers and NCOs across four branches. I do support work with USNORTHCOM. The rank and file are largely OK with it. A couple I spoke to said putting down a riot is more in their wheelhouse than, say, confiscating guns door to door or handing out MREs to welfare recipients.

But if they were doxxing regular conservative Aggies, and the school made a point of joining in, that could be a problem. I have heard the place is left of what it was a couple decades ago, like almost every institution in this nation.

But if the school participated in harming students who are conservative, at a conservative school, this will not end well. When they contact the alumni, that will cause a real problem. Texas AM alumni are probably the most loyal and most giving in the nation. They are also the most conservative for a public school. Those companies get sued all the time. If a corporation does not retain the particular characteristic of personhood necessary to be sued (ie you cannot sue a wall or a stove or a tree), it would be IMPOSSIBLE TO SUE THEM. This would probably lead to invalidation of the limited liability nature of corporations, allowing individual shareholders to be sued for any malfeasance of said companies, but that'd be it's own series of legal difficulties.

My friend, Dave, the retired pastor, who had a heart attack and a

Yes indeed! My MIL in her late 70s had this problem after heart surgery. She became very paranoid in the hospital and the staff couldn't even go near her. They called me in to sit with her in the middle of the night. Thankfully that calmed her down.

They figured out she couldn't tolerate the opioid pain relievers but I do think that just the anesthetic could cause problems like this in the elderly. She got better quickly.

There are very thoughtful military members charged with carrying out these orders who will do it irrespective. However, as is the case with any order they are mindful that other options exist. While they also agree the threat of force is a useful tactic, it could have been done more tactfully by CiNC. Later when I told him what he said he refused point blank to believe it.

Im guessing there was some post surgery dementia or delusions? If so, my mom had them once- it was terrifying because the doctor then told us that while most older people recover in 24-36 hours, its permanent in a small percentage. Something it would be good to know in advance!

My mom, by the way, who was the nicest and most thoughtful woman, accused 2 nurses and a doctor who didn't exist of stealing her jewels (which also didn't exist). It was so far out of character for her, it was nuts.

Unlike the two assassins, Chauvin would have been ignored had it not been for the people Billy Barr will only pretend to threaten. Floyd was not a President or even a leader of anything. I have been watching some older South Park episodes recently, and it's amazing how prescient they are.

The episode about Mohammed images, obviously at the time was about a different group that was insisting everyone bow down to them. And Comedy Central did, indeed, bow down, not letting the episode show Mohammed.

I asked that several times now. Nobody has pointed to any evidence that this death was caused by racial animus. The cops involved were of different races. The cop who had his knee on the neck was a guy who apparently has a long history of using excessive force -- against suspects of all races.

There isn't any evidence that this was a racially-motivated incident.

I remember how low I felt during the summer and fall of 2016. I didn't think Trump had a chance in hell of being elected. All the polls showed the witch beating him by a zillion to one.

The media wanted us to believe we were just isolated little pockets of deplorables - sure, the stupid rednecks would vote for Trump, but all the "decent people" were for Hill. We heard that over and over and over again for months.

Now they are doing the same. They're telling us that a majority are fine with BLM and looting, ready to take a knee for social justice and all "decent" white people are OK with abasing themselves. And always, always there is the implication that if Trump is defeated, this will all end.

And we don't know because outside of AOSHQ so many are afraid to speak their true minds lest they be called racist. But many people who knew that if they put a Trump sticker on their car it would be keyed went into the voting booth and voted for Trump anyway.

I have no idea if the left's attempt to bully us into submission is going to work or not.

384 339 I saw that video as well. He was obviously already dead. They took no care with the body. What struck me was how disrepectful they were. Basically dragged his body onto the stretcher. We have all seen emergency personnel put an injured person a back board or put a collar and then have multiple people help to put the person on the gurney and then into the ambulence. They just grabbed him and kind of threw him on the gurney. No medical attention at all. Not even a pretense of it.
They deserve whatever they get. You wouldhave thought that after the Justine incident with the Muslim untrained cop that they wouldhave learned their lesson and gotten rid of a cop with 18 complaints against him but seeing as no one else even tried to stop that officer for 9 minutes, it is the whole department at fault here.

you know, I grew up in a medium sized central il town. I was taught the rebels were wrong, and the civil war was primarily about slavery, along with other causes. ( i had some good teachers that delved deeper than the surface).

How did you fight it before? Everything and everyone with power and importance in this world hates Trump, and yet he is still president and alive. That's a literal miracle, and miracles don't come from man. Trump is where he is to serve a plan that God devised, and whatever comes next, remember it too is God's plan. And we know that his plan allows that a powerful Satanic force (or two) will conquer the earth, and most people that live will bend the knee, and most that don't will be killed. If you cling to your life, you will lose it.
