The Morning Rant

talking ape.jpg

I cannot let the 8th anniversary of the death of Andrew Breitbart pass without comment.

On the morning of March 1st, 2012, I arrived at work as usual and decided to check in with AoSHQ before my shift started to see if there was anything noteworthy going on.

As the AoSHQ front page came up, I was dumbfounded. Breitbart was dead? The guy was only, like, 43 years old. How could he be dead? Ace must be playing a trick on us. Yeah, that must be it. This is one of ace's poor-taste gags. He'll come on in a few minutes and say 'just kidding' and we'll all have a good laugh and everything will be OK.

Right?

Wiki: "On the night of February 29, 2012, Breitbart collapsed suddenly while walking in Brentwood. He was rushed to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead just after midnight, March 1, 2012. He was 43 years old. An autopsy by the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office showed that he had hypertrophic cardiomyopathy...and died of a heart attack."

What an irreplaceable loss. He was just about the only prominent conservative voice who knew how to fight, and he was taken away from us. I remember Breitbart basically comandeering Anthony Weiner's press conference to defend his reporting, and I thought, wow, who has the stones to do something like this?

Andrew knew the MSM for what it was: a bunch of lying, partisan hacks. And, what's more important, he didn't pretend otherwise. He never played the game where everyone just sort of looks the other way and accepts that the media are unbiased dispensers of factual information and informed commentary who always play fair and treats everyone on all sides equally.

That was a premise he refused to accept.

Andrew wasn't the first to notice the media's outrageously partisan tilt to the left. There had been more than one conservative media watchdog group that had been complaining about this for literally decades. But they all were just preaching to the choir; nothing they said ever seemed to have much of an impact that I could tell.

But Andrew was different. He knew how to bring the spotlight onto these issues in a way that really hadn't been done before.

So his loss was not in vain.

Breitbart was the fuse.

Trump was the explosion.

I would like to believe that had Breitbart lived, he would've been a big Trump supporter. I can't imagine that he'd be a NeverTrump cuck. See, Trump wasn't the one who coined the phrase "fake news." It was invented by CNN to discredit sites like Breitbart. But Trump wrested the phrase out of their hands, much like Andrew jacked that Weiner press conference, and has been beating them over the head with it ever since.

Somewhere, I know Andrew is looking down at what Trump is doing, and smiling.

For most people, that would be true. But I've read accounts from some who were close to Bretibart that say that they knew he had been diagnosed with severe heart trouble, and was supposed to be limiting his stress. (among other things) He wouldn't.

A similar issue took place with Scalia, some think his death was premature, but family members have said that he had been told his heart was quite weak, and he shouldn't have been doing a lot of airplane travel. He ignored the warnings, too.

The MSM is in cahoots with the DNC, so I assume this is to assist in the odd timing -- within hours of him being on Meet the Press detailing his Super Tuesday strategy. 68 Gig Young was best known for his light comedy roles in the rom-coms of the Fifties and Sixties -- usually playing the hero's best friend, etc. But he proved his acting chops in They Shoot Horses, Don't They?.

He'd have made a good Napoleon Solo if the series had been done in 1954 instead of '64. By the mid-Sixties, time and alcohol were showing in Gig's face. Good for a character actor, but not for the dashing lead in a Bond-lite adventure series.

Breitbart was the fuse.
Trump was the explosion.

++++++++++
Brietbart recognized the same situation that many other people on the right recognized. The key difference, though, is he turned the assumptions over by redefining the root cause. That was the stroke of brilliance. Lots of people recognized the problems of the partisan press, the Hollywood sewer, the administrative overreach, etc. But almost all prominent conservatives misunderstood the root cause. They thought it was political. It was Brietbart who understood that it was cultural.

Stress. It's hard work fighting against the system as an outsider. One false move and you are #canceled.

I think what killed Breitbart was Pigford, the last project he was involved in. This was a real scandal, but a minor one as these things go, and mostly blacks were in on the scam. So there was a constant drumbeat on his "problematic racial direction" toward the end.

We'll see. If Mini Mike makes a good showing tomorrow, that will complicate things.

Boot-edge-edge was the sole major occupant of the "outsider" track at this point. Klobuchar is pretending to be on that track, but she doesn't have enough of anything to proceed. With Petey bowing out, that track is dead.

It's "establishment" vs. "radical" now. Sanders will cream Warren for the radical track. Joe and Mini Mike are vying for the establishment track - that's where the real fight is tomorrow. Once there is one person per track, they can fight each-other.

Which of the following scenarios do you think would be more effective as a defensive measure?
1) Saying, "Stop! Don't touch me there!" to a rapist.
2) Saying, "Stop! Don't touch me there!" to a rapist while you hold a firearm leveled at his chest?

I disagree. There was nothing seriously wrong with Bannon. Trump was the fool for rejecting him for essential trivial reasons of personal pique. As Louis Renault would say, "How wasteful of you, throwing away assistants like that. Someday they may be scarce." That day of scarcity arrived sooner than Trump expected, and it's been 3 years of aimlessness since Bannon left. Warren was nearly broke and I expected her to drop out this week. However, she just took a giant cash injection from the super PACs (which, you may recall, she pledged she was never going to do.... fake Indian speak with forked tongue).

If she doesn't get any delegates at all on Tuesday, she's gone. If she gets some, I think she's in for the long haul. If nothing else, she can barter her hypothetical delegates for a VP slot.

Tulsi is still in, too. I think mostly to keep her name out there for next time, although the Young Brown Vagina factor might also get her a VP slot (probably with Bloomberg, if any of them).

ButtJizz probably has a deal to be Biden's VP if he gets the nomination.

Posted by: Cicero (@cicero) at March 02, 2020 12:00 PM (F4eQP)

332 I disagree. He may be finding his way now, but that was 3 years of wandering to very little purpose that we'll never get back.
Posted by: Dr. Mabuse at March 02, 2020 11:57 AM (8/hYo)

Bannon got caught leaking just as much inside the White House info to the NYT and WaPo as Rince Priebus was. That's why he got shitcanned. Trump needs people like Pompeo and Pence, who do NOT talk to the media at all, unless they are told to do so.

405 >>There's a bit in one of Larry Correia's Monster Hunter books where a guy is questioning a woman about her Finnish grandfather. I won't give away the actual reason for this, but the guy claims to be a historian.

>>"What the hell kind of history are you writing that my grandfather would be in it? A history of drunken knife fights of the Upper Midwest?"

A few years ago I was having dinner in Hanover, Germany with some business associates one of whom was an attractive blond woman. There was a table of about a dozen Finnish firefighters sitting near us, they were in town for a firefighting convention/competition.

As the night went on they got a lot drunker and more interested in said blond. She, of course, thought flirting with them was a super good idea because of course she had us to protect her.

Well us turned into me as others left. They were not at all pleased when I told her that it was time to go. I don't know what they were calling me in their orc like language but I didn't stick around for a translation.

That first week of March 2012 was rough, as Neptunus Lex, a milblogger known here, passed away in a flying accident at NAS Fallon (ran out of fuel while trying multiple times to land in bad weather) just 2 days later. I first found out about that from the Sidebar.

The early states are the start of wheat/chaff separation process. People who vote in primaries seriously watch the earlier states and it has consequences on "Supoer Tuesday."

At least, that's the theory. Money is the separator leading up to Iowa, Iowa through South Carolina is the money+delegates separator, Super Tuesday is the delegate separator.

Personally I have zero doubt Andrew was assassinated. They had to stop Andrew no matter what it took.
I grew up thru a time when they destroyed every hero, every source of leadership of good things and people. Look what they did to JFK. The Boy Scouts. Christian Faith. The great culture of the White Christian Athenian Greco Roman West, it's 2000 years of hard won long learned codes history and traditions. Can't be having no leaders of us Freemen of The West. Becauze Cruzades Biatchez! Aemeggedon was the beginning of the living idea of natural rights of men to self defense, no more serfs muthafukkers, Armegeddon is now, everythings come back around in the great circle route of history and there's those of us who ain't gonna take the dirt nap because we ignored our history.
