Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Democrats on Stage [KT]America is finally ready for a rich white president If SNL weren't run by a bunch of talentless biased hacks, they would readily see how an on point parody of "Green Acres", using Bloomberg and team as cast, would effortlessly write itself. Of course, Bloomy in the Eddie Arnold protagonist role. A fish out of water -- such an apt fit for Mike "Is it BLOOM or BLUM" Bloomberg. Just Act Naturally...And remember that the idea of Hillary as his running mate was floated. Hillary as Eva, utilizing her constant supply of misused and patronizing dialects, so that she can more easily pretend to communicate with deplorable folk as they gum their oatmeal for dinner. How about the very attractive Leslie Jones in the Hillary role?Good idea. Got to keep up with casting trends in Hollywood. I'm sure that couple would be a real natural in a little on-stage farming community. Bri Stelter as Arnold the Pig. Period. Joe Biden as Fred Ziffel, owner of Arnold the Pig, along with wife, Doris.Which of the other candidates could be Doris? I see George Soros in a dynamic cameo appearance as Mr. Haney. He's a perfect Mr. Fix kinda character. He's just clearing paths for the future of the South. Yep, yep, yeppers. And lastly, for this SNL parody of a "Green Acres" Reunion episode, Ralph Monroe as 1st gay person in the history of Hooterville. History made in Hooterville -- somewhat profound, in retrospect. RE: Paper ballots. Nothing wrong with paper. Utah election auditor apparently thinks she is smarter than the MIT researchers, knows nothing about computer security, can't think outside of the box, and seems to be unaware of the post office. Yet she is confident the benefits outweigh the risks. From https://tinyurl.com/uhp7jnl ==================== But Amelia Powers Gardner, a Utah County, Utah, election auditor who supervised her county's rollout of the Voatz system for disabled voters and service members deployed overseas, told CoinDesk that at least some of the bugs the researchers found cannot be exploited in practice. "[The researchers] weren't able to substantiate these claims because they were never able to actually connect to the Voatz server," Powers Gardner said. "So in theory they claim that they may have been able to do these things, and only on the Android version, not the Apple version." She said the MIT researchers' effort comes from "what ifs, and perhaps, and maybes that, frankly, just haven't panned out," and that the app had since been patched. Roger Stone news, nicely played.
Stone is trying to get the Judge thrown off the case and he has a really good rationale. The Judge will be one who decides if the Jury Forman, who was clearly biased, tainted the Jury. But the Judge, in her long remarks during the sentencing blew it and said the 'jury served with integrity'. Thus showing her bias on that very pertinent legal question, because she has already made a statement on the subject, before hearing any evidence on the question. Because they're both Urban/Rural fish-out-of-water conflict-of-culture constructs. Did one sort of copy the success of the other? Posted by: Muldoon at February 22, 2020 12:20 PM (m45I2) The success of The Andy Griffith Show probably begat that whole slew of corny rural shows that dominated all the network programming lineups--especially CBS--right up until The Great Rural Purge when it went from Beverly Hillbillies to All in the Family virtually over night. It was as predictable as anything, and predicted by everyone, but it does seem the control/purging/hiding of content on the twatters for political reasons is ramping up as an election year unfolds.
I think Barr mentioned Section 230 the other day, in a way that indicated he's also thinking it's time to revisit the issue of big internet platforms having immunity while also clearly suppressing certain viewpoints and info. Don't see any chance for legislative action, and the issue is much more the oligopoly/effective monopoly situation. And also would not be surprised if, by August, the twatters at least (Farcebook seems to have backed off a bit and appears to attempt the appearance of neutrality, from what I gather) will be basically a DNC/NPR/NYT extension. Posted by: rhomboid at February 22, 2020 01:32 PM (El6T/) 217
These are fascinating to read, just a few short years later:
Politico: --------------------------------------- Asserting, specifically, that November's election will be "rigged" is, all at once: the musing of a candidate who often gives credence to conspiracy theories; a talking point aimed at a disaffected electorate; a presidential candidate, following a dip in the polls, contemplating defeat; an effort to delegitimize the democratic process that could bring that defeat to bear; and a thinly veiled threat by a litigious billionaire to contest such an election result in court. .... In this context, Trump floating the idea of a stolen election or fraud in urban areas looks more like a candidate already planting the seeds of an explanation for an eventual loss. "On some level, he knows he's running a scam on the Republican Party," said Stuart Stevens, the chief strategist on Romney's 2012 campaign. "They put more Trumps onstage at RNC than Hispanics. At some level, he knows this is a con, just like when he said Trump University would make you rich and he knew it wouldn't. "He's just preparing himself for the humiliation of defeat. His problem is he doesn't have a pre-nup with voters - they get to decide. He can't rig it in advance. The whole idea of a guy who inherited a company, inherited all his wealth, and is now talking about a 'rigged system'? He is the poster child of a rigged system living on Fifth Avenue." ----------------------------------- Posted by: ... at February 22, 2020 01:34 PM (Wge+f) 218

WTFF? DNI has an "election threats" position, a person whose job is specifically to oversee this mysterious "threat" area?
Apart from technical threats, to systems that should not even be as electronic as they are, for general purposes of security, WhyTF is taxpayer $ being wasted on this "threat"? Every angle is already covered (for example, in the case of *actual* involvement of a foreign power in campaign, unlike the *synthetic* simulated involvement with Trump '16, counter-intel and multiple other angles and entities to handle them have long existed). This whole area is a leading example of the dumbing down of America in general. Election integrity in much of America is garbage already, for reasons entirely domestic. In ways that actually effect outcomes. No foreign entity can even theoretically alter an outcome the way it's already been happening in places like Philadelphia, Wayne County MI, Cook County IL, even King County WA state. That this whole concept isn't dismissed with contempt, and the real problems screamed about, is a pathetic confirmation of a brain-dead public square in the country. KT - kudos on an excellent thread! It took me a while to get through all the hilarious content. Bloomie as the Squire of Green Acres is brilliant! Amy Klobuchar as Arnold's mom, and I like Cookie Milano as Oliver's wife. Instead of making hotscakes, she's always complaining about Trump and tweeting about her attendance at every sideshow that's supposed to take him down.
