The Morning Report - 1/27/20

pinobolto.jpg

Good morning kids. Start of a new week and its deja-vu all over again. So what took two whole days and half the oxygen produced by the Amazon rain forest for the Democrats to make their "case" and present their "evidence" in the Senate was utterly decimated on Saturday by the President's team of impeachment managers in less than a couple of hours. In fact, it was such a thorough evisceration that Senator John Barasso said that when the transcript of Schiff-for-Brain's perverted, pornographic fantasy of the Trump-Zelensky phone call that he used to open the House hearings was read back and mocked in the Senate, he watched as "the blood drained from Adam Schiff's face." Yes, that's all well and good but the fact is that most Americans had completely tuned out after Thursday and certainly Friday, and no one was going to be watching on a weekend. In any case, Schiff-for-Brains' and Nadless' insane ravings turned off the wrong people; the four GOP swing Senators they were hoping to vote with them for more witnesses.

That was the state of play until yesterday, when, speaking of Amazon, a section of former NSA John Bolton's upcoming book was "leaked" via Bezos' behemoth in cahoots with the Slimes and it just happens to contain a passage that claims President Trump indeed demanded a "quid pro quo" from Ukraine in exchange for investigating Joe Bribem. How's that for fortuitous timing. It seemingly gives the RINO squishes cover to vote to extend this fiasco and call for witnesses, instead of killing this garbage and acquitting the President by the end of the week. Then there's this little nugget; it turns out that Lt. Col Vind-Bag's brother Yevgeny is the person at the NSC in charge of clearing publications before they're released. No conflict of interest there, right? The President has, of course, categorically denied this and called the contents of the transcript bullshit, and a stunt to sell books.

It's so risible and patently transparent a fraud, yet the Democrat-Media Complex keeps trotting it out time after time. In this case because they have absolutely nothing left. No matter what they claim or how loud they claim it, all you have to do is read the transcript of the phone call between Trump and Zelensky as well as look at the timing of events and the fact that Ukraine received all of the aid promised by Trump with essentially zero delay - unlike Obama who, despite a treaty to come to Ukraine's aid in the event of trouble after they agreed to disarm, didn't lift a finger to help as Russia gobbled up the Crimea. Whatever requests to investigate the Bidens were in regards to ongoing corruption investigations and election interference both there and over here. Yet again, the Democrats want to crucify Trump because he might have wanted to do something or thought about doing something, despite the fact that he never did anything except his job in dictating and executing American foreign policy.

Yet again, this is a gigantic Food-of-the-Gods squirrel nothing-burger that will ultimately come to naught. If indeed the squishes squish and we do extend this garbage, the Dems will get exactly what they want, but not quite the way they want it: Bolton as well as the Bidens, Eric "Ciaramella" Whistleblower and maybe even Schif-for-Brains himself will be flayed by Pat Cipollone and Jay Sekulow. Should be fun to see how he answers why he, Schiff, has buried his contact with Ciaramella under the guise of being a state secret. Bring it on.

9 For Bolton to throw in with the enemy out of spite and personal gain is extremely disappointing.

The media have portrayed him as a bloodthirsty warmonger his entire career, and now he lets himself be used to advance their agenda.

He was seen attending Sunday Mass at his parish yesterday morning before he got on the helicopter. Whatever he did, or didn't, do in the past it would appear he repented of it and did his best to make up for it. May he, his daughter and everyone else aboard rest in peace....

51 The woman who questioned mayor Pete on abortion made an excellent point: it's not even a pro or anti in the Democrat party, their platform is it is a reproductive right to get government paid abortion up to the day of delivery. That Buttigieg wouldn't yield an inch on that is incredible. Glad that is being questioned in a townhall and publicized.

Who are the extremists again?

". . . he did not answer the second part of my question and the second part
was: the Democratic platform contains language that basically says that
we don't belong, we have no part in the party, because it says abortion
should be legal up to nine months, the government should pay for it, and
there's nothing that says that people have who diversity of views on
this issue should be included in the party," Day responded. "In 1996 and
several years after that, there was a language in the Democratic
platform that said that we understand that people have very differing
views on this issue, but we are a big tent party that includes everybody
and so therefore we welcome you, people like me, into the party so we
can work on issues that we agree on."

"So my question was would
you be open to language like that in the Democratic platform that really
did say that our party is diverse and inclusive and we want everybody?"
Day asked.

[Buttigeig responded] "Well I support the position of my party, that this kind of medical care needs to be available to everyone . . .",

122 And speaking of a fine person who is sick, here is a prayer request from yesterday from Mrs. Peel:

My dad has been fighting several (possibly related) illnesses for a while. Yesterday, he got admitted to the hospital with suspected pneumonia. Reduced kidney function (unknown etiology I think) plus reduced lung function (can't remember the name of what they think he has but it's a progressive lung disease that ends in either transplant or death) plus bone marrow cancer (right on the border between MGUS and multiple myeloma, has been doing chemo for a few months. He was recently said to be in remission but needed to continue chemo) plus pneumonia does not equal a story I want to think about.

My dad is a kind, humble, funny man who has barely spoken a cross word to anyone in his life (unlike me...or my mom...). I can't describe what he means to me and my mom, and my sister, and his four grandsons, and pretty much every person he's ever met, without a bunch of hackneyed cliches.

Please keep Mrs. Peel's dad and his worried family in prayer.

There must be something in the AoS Style Guide of mourning high visibility non Horde members that I missed too. As someone who follows the NBA more than most here, I regarded Kobe as an extremely talented player who also had some downsides to his career that people overlook when he prematurely passes away. I was shocked but it wasn't like a personal friend died or someone with whom I've interacted.

But enough about me; all you were doing was pointing out the actions of other people involved in an otherwise tasteless display of the excessive self regard of popular culture.

Might be the antibiotics kicking in if it really is pneumonia. (The docs were not sure.) I told him it's like he's always said - he truly is the Wolverine (joke between us about his healing powers. It's a removal while an investigation is ongoing.

I've been saying this for over two years now but one of the fist things done by the DOJ and DNI was to set up a special leak hunting task force because of the enormous number of leaks that started before Trump was even inaugurated.

They are still at it. When acting AG Whitaker left after Barr was confirmed he said there were over 2 dozen active leak investigations ongoing.

Does anyone really believe that the Trump administration doesn't know by now that the NSC is largely staffed with Obama holdovers and that Lt Col Jelly Donut's brother is probably trustworthy.

I'm not sure exactly what's going on but I'm 100% confident that Trump was not blindsided about this leak.

Which one of the Democrat all-stars do you see giving Trump a better run than Hillary?

Trump beat Hillary with a shoestring budget and a chaotic campaign team. He goes into this election with the best record of any presidential first term in modern history and a campaign team that has been building a ground team for over a year now.

Unless some black swan drops from the sky between now and November I don't see Biden or Bernie or Buttguy or Warren or Yang giving Trump much trouble.

+++++++++++++++
They're not wrong, but they're also missing the key point. Is one man worth the destruction of trust in the press? Is one man worth destroying the free press? Is one man worth the destruction of political standards? Is one man worth tearing down due process? Is one man worth ending attorney-client privilege? Is one man worth the conversion of the state into a jack-booted machine that railroads its enemies?

No. No one man is worth that. And no one man is responsible for it.

Trump is not the cause or the target of all of this. He is as a man, but if he were just a man this wouldn't be happening. Trump is a symbol. He is a representation. He symbolizes the "other" side (in Washington and other capitals - he represents "our" side outside those spheres).

Are the *ideas* that Trump represents worth all this? Are the ideas of unencumbered private life, a free economy, and constrained state, national preference and self-determination, etc. worth it?

Yes. The man is but a very good symbol. The man isn't worth it. What the man represents most assuredly is. If we lose what he represents, you'll have Adam Schiff stomping on your face while Mitt Romney furtively masturbates in the corner, wishing he were man enough to participate.

It's a fight for the soul of American civilization. And yes, it is worth it.

346 Lots of hair on fire doom and gloom this morning.

Situation though is not going to change--Trump is not going to be removed, the Dem primaries are still a clown car, stuttering troll will disappear after being proven wrong by events, and something, mebbe flu, Coronavirus, Fentanyl, or simply random accidents will kill some people.

Oh, and Bolton cashed out as books advances and the speech circuit are the accepted honest graft and bribery inside the Beltway given to Uniparty folks for services performed. This book will be in the remainder bin by April along with any of the Obama books, Clinton's memoirs, etc.

Hint, recently these books suck in general, a lot of it is designed on purpose to be what they felt or intuited rather than factual information that can be proven false, it generally defends the idiotic decisions undertaken by the 'hero' and attacks the enemies of the 'hero'. If done by someone else, the term is Hagiography, if done ostensibly as an auto-biography, it will have a ghostwriter or two or an uncredited total rewrite by an editor.

I have had occasion to sort through this sort of trash literature to get a few factual instances for particular purposes and most of this stuff is already rancid and self-serving from the very first page.

One of the best things that could happen is that a ten year ban after leaving office on any 'public servant' trying to cash in on their 'service' via books and speechifying.

They want all these fucking prosecutions now but fail to connect the dots on holding trials in front of dogshit DC juries and overseen by the likes of Amy Cumdumpster Jackson isn't going to produce the results they want. Hell, I forget. It was basically for not grovelling appropriately. I don't buy the BS of insulting groups of people, calling them stupid as a whole, but then pretending that doing such to an individual who obviously belongs to that group is something different. It was basically the BS of lawyerly pearl clutching that I ran (a couple of times) afoul of. Came back two other tmes under different names but rather quickly got banned for similar reasons. Propriatahy, Sir! The whole lot of them are nuts. I mostly liked watching Happyfeet tweek their noses but I see they banned him as well now.
