Virginia Democrats: We're Coming For Your Guns, and We'll Mobilize the National Guard to Take Them

Many counties in Virginia have declared themselves "sanctuary counties" where local police would not enforce state gun control laws.

Sounds fine, right? I mean, the left has hundreds of sanctuary jurisdictions where they don't enforce federal or state immigration laws.

But no, of course not; this is yet another case of Progressive Privilege. They get to declare sanctuary zones.

But if you do so, they'll literally threaten to mobilize the military to crush you.

A lot of those anti-gunners got elected or re-elected to office in the state of Virginia, though. Now, they’re looking to ramp things up against those defiant localities.

Democratic lawmakers on Capitol Hill say local police who do not enforce gun control measures likely to pass in Virginia should face prosecution and even threats of the National Guard.

8 They started this crap with the illegal immigration sanctuaries. They set the precedent. They wanted lawlessness, they're going to get lawlessness.
I won't convict anyone of anything when called to jury service. Amnesty for one, amnesty for all. I refuse to be part of enforcing the laws of a state government which aids and abets the violation of federal laws and is willing to sacrifice it's own citizens on the altar of their supposed compassion.

10 Despite the probable loss of life, I hope this actually happens. I'd like to know how many people still believe in the constitution, and are willing to stand up for it.

At some point, people are going to die, whether in a standoff to take away their freedoms, or unarmed in front of a pit.

Posted by: naturalfake at December 12, 2019 05:08 PM (9X624)

16 As I noted last night, exactly where does the Left think that members of the Virginia National Guard come from? Hint: not rich suburbs next to DC.

Ordering the Guard to confiscate the firearms of rural Virginians (in many cases friends and relatives of Guard members) might be -er- problematic.

It's moot anyway - Trump would Federalize the Guard ten minutes after the governor ordered the Guard to engage in gun confiscation.

After a flurry of last minute fake polls (suggesting that the ace was "tightening" and "up for grabs") and outrageous "October Surprise" attempts against Boris Johnson...The Tories absolutely DESTROYED Labor in the British election:

https://www.bbc.com/news/election-2019-50765773

"The Conservatives are set to win an overall majority of 86 in the general election, according to an exit poll for the BBC, ITV and Sky News.
The survey taken at UK polling stations suggests the Tories will get 368 MPs -- 50 more than at the 2017 election - when all the results have been counted. Labour would get 191, the Lib Dems 13"

Yes, this is based on exit polls -- but they're usually biased AGAINST conservatives, so the final totals may be even BETTER.

368 vs. 191 is basically a total wipeout. Couldn't be any worse for Labour.

The overall impression is that democrats must have went out of their way to pick the most unlikable people as their witnesses and questioners. All politics aside, anyone tuning in at just about any moment would naturally be opposed to the left just because of the unpleasantness of their side.

Nothing else matters.

The left failed totally in crafting a narrative that anyone would understand, let alone be passionate about.

On the plus side, confiscation would be laughably inefficient. When things are likely to be very dangerous (and confiscation would be), cops go in packs. Big teams, lots of equipment and firepower (and if wrong-target SWAT raids are any indication, poor operational planning).

I have mixed feelings about Gaetz - I find him to be a little too showboaty, but that was good.

185 I submit this as another example that the left wants to control your thoughts.

Every time I hear some of the Judiciary committee it is either the Republicans getting to the facts, or the Democrats talking about shame on the Republicans for disagreeing with them.

And of course the psychic readers that all Democrats are, they know that it's because of badness.

The Democrats spend 70% of their time saying Trump shouldn't have done what he did + Republicans should "shill" the way they "are doing".

The Democrats spend a vast majority of their time talking about decisions made by people they don't agree with.

I ax this question a lot, but how is gun confiscation legal if it violates the Second Amendment so blatantly? I'd think the Feds should have a say in this, and I mean "You'd better not even try it" not "OK, go right ahead."

That is arguably "infringement".

Now, "infringement" sounds like the same things as violating. But I researched the legal history of that term and it is not. They meant "making laws all around the issue" so as to vitiate what it actually means.

You can see it in the founders letters about a "musket behind every rock or blade of grass" that they meant those rights for the *people*.

It's clearly an example of the intent to manage a people and the propaganda of the media to suggest otherwise--because, like the progressives of the early 20th century, they *know* that it's not the wisest thing to leave governance in the hands of The People, and the Constitution promises very many things that are actually, in their mind, unwise as a policy going forward.

Yes, exactly. A gun sanctuary city actually would be in compliance with the supposedly governing federal document. The illegal alien sanctuary cities are in defiance of federal law.

Again, if the Left were in the White House (even with someone on the Right there, look how the DOJ acts), a jurisdictional fiction would be manufactured to allow federal intervention.

And then the officer finds you on a list of those who haven't turned in their weapons and off you go to jail. Easy-peasy, no mess, no fuss. And then the officer finds you on a list of those who haven't turned in their weapons and off you go to jail. Easy-peasy, no mess, no fuss. They learned their lesson from Waco where they could have picked up Koresh any day going to the post office and avoided the gunfight and siege.

The cold hearted truth about traffic laws, right here. They are not enforced for public safety. They are done to fundraise and for the police to remind you of their presence, and that they and the government can and will meddle with you at any moment, like it or not.

I'm sure it's been mentioned already. This sort of governmental tyranny is why the 2nd Amendment was included in our Bill of Rights in the first place.

316 Yeah, late as there's a new post up but I can't pass up the comment.

'You have your law, try enforcing it.'

No, Jefferson did not say that about something Marshal passed, it's me on a bastardization of what someone said he said. They just made VA red in the next election.

319 How exactly are they going to prosecute the local
police chiefs or sheriffs? It's a safe bet that the local district
attorneys will not participate in the prosecutions given that they have
to be elected and good luck finding twelve jurors to convict.

Posted by: Ghost of Lee Atwater at December 12, 2019 05:09 PM (G3HFK)

Also, sheriffs are constitutional officers who are elected too in Virginia. The politicians in Richmond have exactly zero power to remove them.

Also, also, if Gov. Coonman calls out the NG, you can bet our President will federalize them before you can say Jack Robinson.

like that lady who was elected to some lowly position where she was

The sheriffs run the courts. All the court staff except for the clerk work for the sheriff. That is not a battle the judge is going to win.

321 Perhaps folks should look at the Virginia caper is its historical perspective.
How much Virginian real-estate has already been fought over, quite bloodily, in, for starters, the Revolutionary War and the "Civil War"?
It is, militarily speaking, VITAL GROUND.
(Sir) John Keegan's book, "Warpaths" covers a lot about recurring warfare on important turf very well.
Command, Communications and CARGO (Logistics".

Could be. I'm not a native of Virginia. Ultimately, what happens is up to the Virginia people.

But I also see that a Sheriff is in charge of law enforcement for one county only. His.

He does carry a lot of weight there.

Pull him out of the county, and he carries less so.

Get him arraigned and arrested in a neighboring county by a different law enforcement agency to avoid his weight.

But...I'll admit it. Not a resident of Virginia. Not an expert on case law. Which is why I'm giving you this professional analysis of mine for the low low price of $0.00 per word.

But if I were advising the left? I'd say don't do anything crazy like sending in the National Guard. That will freak people out. And increase the chance of an uprising that will spread.

I'd say handle this in a more boring, pedantic way. Talk about how "we aren't taking away people's guns...just enforcing a certain court order. Just a simple court order...doesn't effect you, just one sheriff...nothing to see here...blah, blah, blah."

336 The "Battle of Athens" was the perfect example of why our founding fathers were so brilliant as to include "the right to keep and bear arms" in our Constitution.
The Battle of Athens is a major event in American history that is wrongly ignored by our educational system, our media, and our government officials. That alone should demonstrate why we Second Amendment supporters should hold the event up for all to see.
Use the Battle of Athens as an example to show your children what free men should be willing to do to protect that freedom.
Use the Battle of Athens to demonstrate to the media why gun control is antithetical to the Constitution and our freedoms.
Use the Battle of Athens to let our leaders know that we are in charge.

But you evidently dont seem to realize that using a nonstandard port means that everyone behind a corporate or desktop firewall will not be able to read the article unless until someone creates an exception for HTTPS on port 1080.

1. What was your rationale behind using a nonstandard port for web traffic?

2. Why do you use Google for email when they are sworn enemies of conservatives? They blocked "clinton body count" from autocomplete until the 2016 election was over. They are deplatforming conservative bloggers on youtube. They tried to tried to kill whistleblower zach vorhies by SWATING with a fake bomb threat just hours before he was supposed to meet with the justice department to show how Google lied to congress about censorship of conservative viewpoints.

Wake the fuck up, man... get off of Google immediately; use ProtonMail or Tutanota or something... everything in your Gmail is accessible to deep state / Democrat operatives!
