The Morning Report - 12/12/19

hawlhell.jpg

Good morning kids. Thursday and we continue with the IG Horowitz report and the Sham-peachment Follies. The shockwaves of the former are still being felt so let's take it from the top. Yesterday, Michael Horowitz was questioned by the GOP-led Senate Judiciary Committee and as we all know, the media focused on their fossilized co-conspirator Dem Senators to continually harp on Horowitz's carefully worded, yet no less outrageous statement that he found no evidence of political bias by any of the FBI officials central to his investigation. Forget the fact that no one asked him if the same kind of hypothetical that those two leftist tits Berke and Goldman bandied about on Nadler's panel; to wit, did you inquire if anyone was politically motivated and do you really think that if you asked that you'd get an honest response? Aside from that, the basis of the FISA warrants, the Hillary Clinton bought-and-paid-for and fictitious Steele dossier was known to be fictitious and yet was used as the pretext to obtain and then renew those warrants. Everyone involved knew it as no doubt Horowitz himself must have been. But of course, once the media had the soundbite it wanted, they were off to races and conveniently cut away from the hearings the moment Lindsey Graham began his opening statement, which cut to the actual meat of the report, CNN and the other agitprop media arms of the Democrats cut away.

In any case, Graham, as well as Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley grilled Horowitz about the meat of his report, which despite his best efforts to try and shield the FBI, was forced to admit that at best, they were grossly incompetent, reckless and that his findings did in fact show flagrant criminality. Most egregious was the altering of documents showing Carter Page was an intelligence asset to show he was not, and thereby green-light the obtaining of FISA warrants to spy on him. Hawley, Graham and Cruz were dead right in their individual assessments:

Hawley: The FBI "effectively meddled" in the 2016 election.

Cruz: ...A stunning indictment of the FBI and the Department of Justice, of a pattern of abuse of power..."

Graham: The FBI "engaged in a massive criminal conspiracy."

17 separate acts and instances of gross incompetence by individuals that are supposed to be the elite of the elite of nation's top cops that somehow miraculously all benefitted the Clinton campaign and hurt Trump's. No mention of the "insurance policy" mash notes between Strzok and Page. A glossing over of the origins and veracity of the Steele dossier and how it was used to abuse our legal system to spy on innocent parties. Yet Horowitz could find no evidence of political bias?

Yes, the Democrat-Media Complex has its soundbite and doubtless will be harping on it endlessly. But the proof will still be in the pudding when AG Barr and John Durham hand down indictments. Considering their almost instantaneous dual rebukes of Horowitz's "no evidence of bias" opener, I fully expect people to face the music. The question is, who? If there is a G-d in Heaven, it should be Comey, Clapper and Brennan, along with McCabe, the Ohrs, Bill Priestap, Sally Yates, Andrew Weissmann and probably a few dozen more that we don't know the names of. Yet. And then, of course, there's Obama and Clinton. I wish.

Whatever happens, Christopher Wray should be immediately removed as head of the FBI.

... Wray's indifference toward Horowitz's report is hardly an aberration. There are plenty of other reasons to question whether Wray is the right man to lead the FBI.

Let's review the FBI's abysmal record under Wray.

Under Wray, the FBI fought congressional oversight into what is now confirmed FBI misconduct.

Under Wray, the FBI's program of oversight of its informants almost totally disintegrated. Over $40 million a year goes to these informants who have a lot of influence over how America's most powerful cops get used. That's the very same program that allowed the Christopher Steele/Russian collusion hoax to gain traction. According to the latest inspector general report, Steele flunked the source validation process but the FBI continued to vouch for his credibility to the court - even misrepresenting Steele's value in the infamous FIFA case. The FBI is less equipped to screen and stop a repetition of a future Steele-like failure now than it was in 2016 when it happened the first time.

Under Wray, the FBI abused the National Security Agency's database of bulk data collected without regard to constitutional privacy concerns. The government is allowed to maintain this database because it promises not to use it on Americans without a court's permission. Under Wray, the FBI couldn't even explain why thousands of the queries were initiated.

The abuse was so widespread and systematic that the court issued a stinging opinion here. Wray fought the release of the opinion for a year, delaying public accountability. To date, there's no report of Wray punishing any FBI personnel for any of this misconduct...

Actually, the past three years is just the nail in the coffin. My preference is to abolish the agency entirely, but the first rule of bureaucracies is to expand their power, not diminish it. And bureaucracy is the Deep State. Stay tuned.

NOTE: The opinions expressed in some links may or may not reflect my own. I include them because of their relevance to the discussion of a particular issue.

15 Democratic Rep. Jeff Van Drew said Wednesday that he will vote against articles of impeachment that outline the case for President Trump's removal from office, becoming the first Democrat to publicly say he will not vote with his colleagues.

Van Drew, a Democrat who represents a district in New Jersey that favored Trump by five points in 2016, has been a vocal opponent to the impeachment effort examining whether Trump pressured Ukraine to investigate his political rival, former Vice President Joe Biden.

Van Drew added that some of his Democratic colleagues have reached out to him about impeachment and guessed as many as three or four in total could join him in voting against impeachment articles.

It would be hysterical if it got voted down in the House because a number of Dems get cold feet

Think that's incorrect, or at minimum, mischaracterizing what happened?

The FBI and two companies it contracted with were caught performing the queries during Obama's presidency. his is what Adm. Rogers, as then head of the NSA, discovered and shut down. In fact, the shutdown of these queries by Rogers immediately preceded the FBI's first attempt at a FISA warrant on Carter Page --- in other words, they were forced to get the FISA because Rogers cut off their ability to do these warrantless queries.

Wray could be criticized for not taking action to prevent a repeat of this, perhaps, but that didn't happen on his watch.

48 I agree with JJ - the FBI is no longer anything like what was contemplated in its foundation in the early 20th century. It was meant to combat organized crime across multi-state lines where local law enforcement either didn't have the resources or worse, were friends or family of the very criminals terrorizing the citizens. It created a national repository of mug shots and finger prints and brought crime lab technological advancements to assist law enforcement.

Now its become an enemy of the people it was supposed to serve. The local law enforcement agencies no longer depend on the FBI to help them, and probably they're a hinderance if truth be known - shut it down and split up the various departments in it into assets offered to local law enforcement like crime lab reports and criminal information data.

70 Andrew Yang's plan includes using international standards for drug

regulations, and public manufacturing of medications.

"We need to put pressure on these companies to get their
prices under control and more in line with the rest of the world. . .We have to
give the federal government authority to negotiate drug prices and use
standard international price reference points so pharmaceutical
companies can no longer exploit our market and the American people.

If these companies are not willing to compromise, we need to ensure
the U.S. government has the ability to force licenses for these drugs to
companies who will. Additionally, we need to authorize the creation of
public manufacturing facilities to make these drugs
, as well as other
necessary drugs and unprofitable but necessary medications, for the
American people."

I believe that the Governor is the ultimate authority of the National Guard in his own State.

Trump could try to call them up and Federalize them to thwart the Governor but that would lead to a legal challenge and nothing would happen.

So, would there be mass insubordination against the governor? I would think a significant number of VA Guardsmen would disobey and in fact move to remove his ass from the governor's mansion.

Under Wray, I do believe that he's allowing the FBI to now use the FISC to obtain warrants against foreign targets in an attempt to gather info against Americans. Hence, the SDNY obtaining the phone records from AT&T on Mayor Rudy, Nunes, Solomon, and others and then giving them to Schiff under the fig leaf of "oversight" authority. Its an end around on the loss of NSA gathered info. And it should be illegal.

"Gender confirming" surgery? I wonder what would happen if a homely woman or man decided they wanted "beauty confirming" surgery, at taxpayer expense?

"I look ugly, but I know that I'm really beautiful, and I just want my exterior to conform with my sincere beliefs about my true identity as a beautiful person, and therefore the taxpayers should pay for my nose job, cheek implants, chin re-shaping, breast implants, pec implants, liposuction, butt lift, etc."

Seriously, how is that any different? Being ugly makes people feel depressed, even suicidal. Why shouldn't they get plastic surgery on the taxpayers' dime, just like the gender benders?

Yep. If taxpayers have to pay for cosmetic surgery to turn people into whatever they think they are, there really are no limits to this insanity.

Why should our money only go to help men who want to be women, or women who want to be men? Why shouldn't we also be forced to pay for old women who want to look
like younger women (face lifts, botox, laser resurfacing, etc.), or those people who believe they are vampires (dental implants), or the people who want to look like cats, or whatever?

There are plenty of surgeons (and dentists, etc.) out there who'd be happy to perform "transformative" procedures on people who want to look different than they do. So why don't we just pay for all of that? Why are we limiting it to the gender bender crowd? That's discriminatory and non-inclusive, and not who we are!!!

Vaccines are classic example. Leftists are famous for causing problems where none exist, and championing themselves as the savior to solve the problems they created in the first place. Once certain common vaccines left the patent phase there wasn't much profitability, but there was a whole bunch of liability exposure.

So the number of drug companies willing to manufacture them dried up. How could it be otherwise? Leftists still do not understand human nature. After 5,000 years. Somebody even wrote a book or two about it.

142 Study: Oral Contraceptives Linked To Shrinking Brain Sizes

Once again a deceptive headline regarding results of a medical report.

The study looked at MRI scans of 50 healthy women, 21 of whom were taking oral contraceptive pills, and found that "women taking birth control pills had significantly smaller hypothalamus volume,'"

Hypothalamus is a structure perhaps the size of the tip of your little finger, involved in control of the endocrine system via the pituitary gland. It is no surprise that being on hormones (contraceptives) would affect the feedback received by the hypothalamus vis-a-vis regulating levels of those hormones, and thereby affect the anatomic size of the hypothalamus.

The women's brains DID NOT SHRINK for crying out loud.

150 Greetings fappers and fappees.

Today's fresh hell is brought to you by the intentional death of meritocracy, to be replaced by identity. No longer will the best and brightest among us rise to the top or even be permitted to try. As the commercial reminds us, "Just OK is not OK."

#WASTF unless we start fighting back against the forces and people who want to destroy us from within. We must reject the imposition of the unqualified over the excellent.

One big step to start with would be a robust challenge to the idiotic ruling of Griggs v Duke Power. Any organization has the right to hire the best employees it can find and this ruling destroyed that for reasons that remain a mystery. This is not who we are as a nation.

Demand excellence and don't take "No" for an answer.

178 re: Medicaid and psychiatric services in Colorado the Dept. of Health Care Policy (Medicaid office) says this:

Health First Colorado (Colorado's Medicaid Program) members have comprehensive mental health and substance use disorder services through their regional organization. Behavioral health providers can get you medically necessary behavioral health services, like therapy or medications.

The key phrase is "medically necessary". Medicaid determines what conditions are covered and sets the prices (i.e. amounts paid to providers). Actual provision of services comes down to availability of providers willing to accept Medicaid rates. So psychiatric services are covered, but limited to an extent.

Some facilities are propped up by supplemental funding from state or federal sources, and susceptible to closure if that funding dries up, which it tends to do.

It pays for some, but it's not much. There is a 190-day lifetime limit for in-patient care in a psychiatric hospital.

Under Medicare Part "A" you're covered for 60 in-hospital days per benefits period, but if you need more than 60 days you have to pay $352 coinsurance per day for days 61-90, and then after you hit day 90, you have to pay $704 coinsurance per day. Part "B" pays for some out-patient counseling.

Joe and Mika were a sight. Mika was dressed all in black, with a sad face, and Joe was unhinged, so off of how he "created the term flyover country" when he was a Republican, and how "every single thing Republicans and Trump are accusing the Dems of doing to him, they did to Barack Obama."

D'oh looked at me and said, "He's actually probably clinically insane. He's going to need to be institutionalized when Trump is re-elected."

I tuned in briefly a little while ago, and they were both yelling at Melania for not keeping PDT from saying "mean things about a child -- Greta Thunberg." This, after Joe said attacks on Barron were okay.

Either you have people in jail, before 2020, for this crap, or Trump and any non-GOPe Republican should expect they and those close to them will end up in prison the next time we have a Democrat president.

Yeah, I've seen this terminology creep our recently.

If Durham does just produce a report, then everything's done because, unlike Horowitz the IG, Durham does have direct authority to file indictments.

Start
a very public fight with Carlos Slim. What percentage of LIV's known a
Mexican corruptocrat owns a major American media company?

Probably less than .0001%.

And PDT's EO needs to specify that the owners and operators be born here in the US. No naturalized citizens like the anti-Christ George Soros to weasel his slimy way through a loophole.

Want your special dispensation, newspeople? Here's the rules...

324 To those wondering why Trump did not fire Session or accept resignation. Session's resignation was not approved because that would mean Rosenstein was running the whole dept. McConnell has created this mess purposefully by refusing to adjourn so that President Trump cannot make any recess appointments. I believe that Trump was blindsided by this move by his own party. Trump should have fired all of the Obama holdovers but unfortunately he trusted that the Rep. Senate would allow replacements in a timely fashion.

The GOPe senator caucus has enough votes with the Dem to reject anyone of insufficient purity regarding what the Chamber of Commerce folks want--e.g. open borders and cheap labor. Sessions at least was willing to do half the job in enforcing immigration laws which Rosenstein surely would not have done.

Furthermore, a new AG that was not recused with the Mueller investigation might have been cast as obstruction as was the firing of Comey. Leaving Sessions in place until Mitchie allowed him to go post 2018 elections was probably better than Trump's other options. By that time, the Mueller investigation was running on vapors because it found nothing.

Much of the fault lies with Senate Republicans like Sen. Burr who lent cover to the coup who are determined to do the will of donors/benefactors over the well being of those who elected him.
After all the Uniparty's real objective is to provide cover for our new robber barons to complete their dystopian projects.

Son called last night to brag he'd met Matt Best of Black Rifle Coffee, and more importantly, "Range 15," at a local pub last night.

Makes me like Black Rifle that much more.

332 Now its become an enemy of the people it was supposed to serve. The local law enforcement agencies no longer depend on the FBI to help them, and probably they're a hinderance if truth be known - shut it down and split up the various departments in it into assets offered to local law enforcement like crime lab reports and criminal information data.
