LOL: Battleground/Red State Democrats Begging and Whining for Censure Option, So They Can Avoid Voting on Impeachment and Avoid Being Sent Packing

Bear in mind, these Democrats are hurt even if they vote against impeachment. If they vote against it, they keep moderates on their side, but they lose a big chunk of their super-woke leftist base.

Any impeachment vote hurts them, whether it passes or fails, whether they vote yea or nay.

A group of House Democrats are reportedly considering censuring President Donald Trump instead of impeaching him.

A group of about 10 Democratic members of Congress, including New Jersey Rep. Josh Gottheimer, Oregon Rep. Kurt Schrader, New York Rep. Anthony Brindisi, and Utah Rep. Ben McAdams, are all reportedly open to a censure resolution of Trump instead of moving forward with impeachment, according to Politico.

"I think it's certainly appropriate and might be a little more bipartisan, who knows," Schrader told Politico on Tuesday when asked about a possible censure, adding "Time's slipping by."

"Right now, there's no other options. This is another option," another Democratic member of Congress told Politico.

As reported yesterday, impeachment is pushing Trump up, and Biden and the rest of the Democrat field down, in must-flip former Democrat strongholds Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania.

As House Democrats continue to increase the pressure in their impeachment inquiry of President Trump, his numbers are rising in battleground states where he’s now ahead of the top polling Democrats in the 2020 field.

Mr. Trump saw a more than a four-point boost in his numbers when compared to the Democratic frontrunner former Vice President Joe Biden in the state of Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania, according to polling done last week by Firehouse Strategies compared to its prior polling earlier this year.

In March Mr. Trump was down 12 points compared to Mr. Biden in Wisconsin, seven points in Pennsylvania and nearly tied in Michigan. But since the impeachment inquiry has been carrying on, Mr. Trump now leads Mr. Biden by nine points in Wisconsin, five points in Michigan and four points in Pennsylvania.

Opposition to impeachment rose higher than 50% for the first time since Pelosi announced the impeachment inquiry in the Quinnippiac poll.

110 Heard this afternoon on the radio that McConnell said there will be no trial in the Senate before Christmas. He then went on to say that there will be no vote on he USMCA before 2020, because that vote will not take place before the Senate trial, it will only take place after.

So the Dems have an impeachment for nothing vote sitting on their laps, and they will go home and say we voted to impeach and now the Republicans are holding up the trade deal with Mexico and Canada that we had to go in and fix.

Meanwhile, the stupid Dems have managed to muck up the trade deal, which will now have to be voted on in the Senate for ratification. I can only imagine the garbage the House has put in this bill.
AND even if it manages to be ratified by all the players in the USA, it will have to go back to Mexico and Canada to be re ratified by them. The reporter on FBN said that Canada has had an election since the USMCA was passed previously, so they will have to start all over again on the ratification process.

The Dems are crowing like they just created this trade agreement, Trump had nothing to do with it, and just watch, when it doesn't end up in agreement with Canada and Mexico, suddenly the blame will be on Trump. Right before the election.

These people have zero interest in anything good for the country.

Imagine if the duplicitous little cocksucker didn't have a contested primary followed by a general in a state where Trump is wildly popular. I have exactly zero expectations he will allow key witnesses to be called because he's up to his neck in the early stages of the coup attempt. Posted by: clutch at December 10, 2019 06:27 PM (+mbOC)

James took on Debbie Stabenow last time, who brings home the graft and has been in the Senate ( and previously in the Michigan legislature for years) and won the majority of counties in the state. He did not win Detroit, Oakland County or the Ann Arbor area.

Detroit you could write a book about. Oakland County, well, he's black. Ann Arbor- pot legalization was on the ballot and everyone under the age of 35 crawled out to the polls to make sure the Democrats swept the state offices so there would be zero interference in being able to stand in line for three hours to buy your weed.

So what is the first thing the Dem female governor wants to do is raise taxes on gas .45 cents a gallon for "roads" , making Michigan the state with the highest gasoline taxes in the nation, besting CA. Because we still have a Rep Legislature, that has been held in check.

Peter's is invisible, unlike Stabenow. You don't see him arm and arm with Schumer like you do Stabenow. I think James has a very good chance this time.

Peters has been invisible. He has less name ID than James, which doesn't bode well for an incumbent.

Consider that James ran into the mid-term headwind and was vastly outspent by a fixture in statewide politics for decades and actually got more votes than any other Republican in a statewide race and this becomes very credible.

How did Lee commit treason?
Posted by: clutch

Back in '83, she was an aide to Ron Dellums, the socialist congressmen from what would later become Lee's district. he was on the House Intelligence Committee, and so was privy to all of America's top secret military intelligence operations. In his role there, he was kept apprised of the Grenada invasion plans, in minute-by-minute detail. Someone, just prior to the invasion, critical military plans passed from Dellums to Barbara Lee -- whether she snuck them out, or he just handed them to her is unclear. And what did she do with them? SHE CALLED UP HER COMMUNIST BUDDIES IN GRENADA and revealed EXACTLY where and when the US was going to invade.

If she had been a Soviet spy, she couldn't have done any worse. She intentionally put US troops in harm's way and tried to thwart national policy.

Barbara Lee has bragged about this for years, as least to her constituents and in interviews with sufficiently leftist media. And yet despite her bragging and admissions, Congress never censured her or even brought the subject up.

People are overthinking this.

The Senate wants it all to go away.

None of them want to touch it.

Someone upthread pointed out that the Dems *will* lose winnable senate seats because of this.

Speaking of Gary Peters, he's one of them. If he votes for impeachment, he can pretty much start packing his bags.

If he votes to acquit, same deal.

You know what he wants? The whole thing to go away.

I'm sure there is plenty of arm-twisting to keep this bottled up in the House.

And for those who point out that 51 votes are needed to approve a witness, how will it look if Trump says "I call this witness in my defense" and the Senate refuses to allow it?

Does anyone think that makes it look like less of a show trial?

There are no good outcomes for the Dems here.

The Senate is a piñata of corruption. It's why the parties have a modus vivendi about attack ads concerning graft and foreign influence. They'll bash each other all day long about who is taking what from Big Pharma but blatant graft from China or military contractors is off limits. Even when Antifa and its media arm were coming after Chao and McConnell over Kavanaugh, the well-documented China graft went unmentioned. It's not a government let alone party worthy of support but you fight with the tools you have available.

283 Repost for later folks.

Librem5 - the linux phone that places your privacy first.

Some of you have asked for an update, since I said I pre-ordered, and planned shipment was announced to begin in Q3 2019. Shipment began in three tranches, and I deliberately chose tranche three, in the hope that more software bugs were worked out and more apps became available.

Short answer: Purism bungled the release. The first tranche largely went to company insiders, in an effort I can only assume is to work out bugs.

Purism is taking it in the shorts for biting off too much (hardware and software design), and rightfully, for letting a phone out into the wild that can't even phone.

Cons:

- a phone that can't phone, yet.
- few apps
- not bleeding edge hardware
- girthy

Pros:

- User replaceable battery
- Hardware switches for comms, mic, and cams
- SD storage

Youtuber HackersGame has about the best updates and demos on the platform, both dev kit and it appears, a released device.

https://youtu.be/Mqmz0cJkYRQ

His estimate, IIRC, is that tranche three, Evergreen, is ETA Q1/Q2 2020. This is fine by me. I am still optimistic on the platform, as are others, and I am willing to give them time to work out the bugs . . . so far.

Stay away, for now.

291 There is actually, IMO, no reason to have Biden testify.
Trump is being brought up on charges he endangered the USA and that he abused his power by attempting to solicit a personal enrichment favor thingy by asking for Biden to be investigated.

Both made up charges are not only easily defended against, but would be a good lesson to explain to the American public that we have a constitution that grants power to conduct foreign policy to the President.

That Trump was fulfilling his duty as President to honor a treaty we have with Ukraine in which corruption in either country will be investigated by both with cooperation.

I want the Dem's to explain to the public and to the Senate just how Trump endangered the USA by calling and congratulation the newly elected Ukrainian president and discussing fulfilling treaty obligations.

How Trump abused his power by withholding military aid to Ukraine for two weeks while it's new government was vetted due to it's old government being ripe with corruption.

All this other clown show testimony people want is counterproductive AND could be a problem for Barr's investigation and possible indictments.

306 263 Ever wonder how Elon Musk has been allowed to commit securities fraud with impunity while banking millions in taxpayer subsidies? Any idea who Tesla Motors manager of business operations is? One of Mitch McConnel's daughters. And she married to an investment banker with ties to the former soviet bloc.
That's just one of probably 300 examples.

Everybody above a certain level is incidentally connected(at lower levels like myself, you have a within 3 people connection to lots of notables, Merkel, Biden & Kerry family private equity fund and their shenanigans, Roy Moore, some people make their fortunes by leveraging these connections) . Sometimes there's an actual relationship, sometimes not.

As far as securities fraud goes, Musk was being stupid, not criminal or profiteering off it.

Which means to me that the dreaded LIVs aren't buying this and are calling BS despite being low-information and being fed a steady diet of OMB. It seems media and advertising has its limits.

Umm, Trump endorsed him last time, Don Jr. appeared at several of his rallies, as did Laura Trump. He met with Trump at the WH this past May over discussion of him being appt a UN Ambassador, and also encouraging him to run again in Michigan for either the Senate against Peters or for a House district. With the courts tossing out the current district maps in favor of gerrymandering for the Democrats, a Senate run made more sense.

Stop reading the Metro Times.

The only reason you would buy would be if you didn't have the internet and you were single sourcing your opinion information. No one does that nowadays. Their magazine isn't a buff book like Car + Driver or Road + Track (same owner for both) that basically gives them away for the advertising to be seen. Sure, the web site, why not? I do enjoy writing however it just seems like the first 10
to 15 minutes are generally wasted simply just trying to figure
out how to begin. Any suggestions or hints? Cheers!
