Long-time lurker lyle here again. This is our 21 month old American Eskimo (the breed is known as Spitz in Europe). This is NOT a staged photo, he jumps up on just about every piece of furniture we have. But here’s the best part: his name is Mozart. Cheers.

So does he play Roll Over Beethoven? J/K cute little dog. And obviously not spoiled whatsoever. Thanks for your submission.

This is Tucker. He's named after Tucker Carlson because he gets the same look on his face when he knows you're telling him something that just doesn't make any sense. You know the look....
Thanks for the pet thread. We look forward to seeing it every weekend. - Jennifer

Thank you for sharing Tucker's photo and his naming story. He appears to be a fun loving guy. We appreciate your support.

Our patriotic poodle Coco just passed tonite. (11/22) She was 13 and waited until our whole family was there with her at the end. Never a problem her whole life and went out with dignity and class like the noble Standard she was. Never had a dog die in our arms - she was special. Requiescat in pace - Samuel

It is never easy to say goodbye. Those 13 years just rushed by I bet. Condolences on your loss.

Good morning,
I have a couple of doggos for your viewing pleasure. I lurk mostly, but when I do post, My nic is Confuzzled

The brown and white one is Bear
She is a Pomsky (a combination of Pomeranian and Husky). See sleeps on my bed in my lap since our attempt to create train her failed because she kept waking the baby.

The spotted one is Jackson. He is a combination blue heeler and border collie (a blue_collie?) He says all good boys wear their seatbelts. He is crate trained.

He and bear love to play and roughhouse. They're both still in the puppy phase of trying to reach everything and peeing everywhere... But we still love them

Thank you for your submission. Two puppies? Wow, 1 is hard enough but 2? Good luck with them. They certainly do seem to be loved.

And Hey MisHum here’s a pic of the new puppy, in the library.-Freaked

Quite the menagerie of pets there Freaked. What's the puppy's name?

long-time lurker, finally had to show my two rescue babies - Max (the white pit-lab mix) is bigger and older, but Maya Blue (blue-nose pit) is the pushy one. Both come running when they hear my wife's grandchildren coming, and I didn't realize a dog's tail could wag that far. Maya stands guard over the back yard, making sure the lizards don't take over the house.

Adorable dogs you have there. Sounds like they love kids! Thanks for sharing with us today.

My 7 year old black and tan, Geddy (in honor of Geddy Lee), and the two sisters, Charlie and Bailey, asleep after a hard day hunting mice on the farm. Big dog teaching them the ropes. My girls are doing great with daily training and finally showing some maturity at 6 months. Puppies are so.....PUPPY'ish. - SL

Another brave soul with 2 puppies. Holy-moly patience galore. And yes puppies are so PUPPY'ish. Thanks for the chuckle.

10 Does Mozart "sing"? Johnny Carson used to have dogs on the show who sang/howled which always cracked me up because their facial expressions were so darn hilarious. None of our dogs ever did that even with encouragement, but I had a white cat who would hop up and sit beside me on the padded piano bench (like yours) when I was playing and meowed along. Yes, it was adorbs.

They'll probably argue that pets contribute to global warming; consume food that could be given to the San Francisco/Portland homeless; and make humans happy-- and we can't have that!

18 I noticed the change in Elivis as soon as I got him home from the shelter. He was a shy little guy and very wary of his surroundings and people.

I brought him home and he got to meet some friends who came to meet him and after a few minutes of checking out his new home and people he made himself right at home. Now he's Mr. Social, never met a person of another dog he didn't like.

The new Feline Overlord, pathetic slave-humans name 'Scout' came home from the shelter Wednesday afternoon, 9 weeks of catitude. He has now mastered stairs so we can move the box down stairs to the laundry room, thank heavens.

He was a stray with a mangled tail. Missing a couple inches and what's left takes a clintonesqe turn mid shaft. Grey tabby with 4x socks.

I have been without for several years. Been sad and moping for months for various reasons, momma finally said get in the car we're getting you a kitten!

Will send pics sometime.

27 Laughing at the Max and Maya -- I swear that the Old Dogs and Old Cat have absolutely no purpose other than sleeping unless their kids are around. Watching in real time Old Dog delegating to New Old Dog the Terrible Goddess of the Dogs has been an absolute hootenanny. Old Dog still lays on guard near the center of the action, but the torch has been passed as far as the Terrible Goddess.

Old Cat has decided that he wants in on the fun and demands to be let into the family room when the kids are here. Old Cat has always liked kids, but New Old Dog really irritated him so most of the time he was sulking in the other room. A year later . . .

37 Olay. Long story I have to share. I have mentioned in the past about our wee pet.crew. After we lost our sweet Puska dog a year or so ago we had the chance.to bring home a pair of monsters. Kink and Blink brother and sister little kittehs. Kink is black with a crooked tail and Blink is the wee grey princess who seems not to blink. Such fun and helped us heal our hearts over losing Puska the bestest dog I ever had. Kink is a dude and struts around brings in mice, birds, rabbits, etc. Blink is a wee princess and very much the girlie cat but does.go hunting with her brother. All happy campers. Enter Billie dog six months later as another re housed Vizla. The monsters take about 8 weeks before they accept Billie dog.. Then they all love each other after Kink becomes Alpha pet.over the doggie.
As it is getting into summer down here it is getting hot and the wee black monster has been staying out all night hunting. Disappears Sunday night . Monday not seen. Tuesday not seen. Starting to get worried. Start searching. Not found. Out with thermal sights day and night. Check neighbors, roadside, pine plantation next door, all the surrounding paddocks. Stables ,garages, pump house, everything and nothing. Calling for days nothing. Talk to neighboring farmers.about any night shoots and a black cat. After the tèmps are 30 C degrees plus we acept he is gone.. The missus takes yesterday off to try looking all day. In a last attemp. We are devastated, my wee man is gone, the dude, my little black shadow.. At work phone goes, Prue crying, she FOUND him. Dehydrated and very weak he must have heard her calling and dragged himself to the property fence from the pine block. Covered in pine resin he must have been stuck.. So beyond happy. A day of rest and pampering and he presents us a rabbit as thank you this morning.

I'm such a cynic that I don't want to just volunteer to reimburse someone for 'whatever you say you had to spend on cat care' but I will absolutely cover food, vet bills etc for the kitteh. And if Rickl's sister has talked to the vet and the cat is presumed healthy enough that it could be flown I have once in the past flown a rescue from VA on Delta airlines, but that was a healthy ~6 month old kitten. Having read that this cat is older and has some issues I don't know if can be safely flown anywhere.

63 I was snowed in for three days this week.

New England is due for two days of the usual late fall misery of rain, sleet, and snow mixed-- which usually means a glaze of ice on sidewalks and roadways as well as snow. The cats will doubtless spend time looking out the living room windows at the dogs being walked outside and being grateful that they have litter boxes to use instead of being dragged outdoors to do their business.

Read that again.

Trump just sold rice to CHINA.

82 Please tell me who was the bright light that thought breeding a race of cats with two brain cells, no tear ducts, and perpetual breathing issues was a good idea.

My last dog passed nearly two weeks ago. Monday, she seemed fine. Tuesday, she collapsed. Took her to the vet who said probable liver cancer involving spleen and pancreas. Of course, we made the decision to end it right then and there. A few days ago, she came home in a beautiful little box with a plaster of paris and a cutting of her fur. She joined all the others in a cabinet on the back porch.

These last two cats do not jump on the counter where we used to keep the cat food out of dog's reach -- the short haired one because he's never had to hop up there for food, the Himalayan because she is structurally incapable of making that leap. So the cat food has been on the floor in the pantry. We have a long sturdy hook and eye set up that keeps the door open wide enough for the cats, but not the dogs.

A couple days after the dog left, I moved the cat food bowls out to the kitchen where the dog bowls used to be. The short hair had no issue. The Himalayan is still throwing fits because the food was moved. She sits in front of the pantry door and complains at the top of her lungs. I cart her to the new location and she eats with no problem. A couple hours later, she is sitting in front of the pantry door, complaining. It's getting very old.

I know that feeling. We're arranging to be foster parents for the Last Hope Rescue where we adopted Rocket. That way we can give a dog a calm home until they can be adopted to a forever home.

88 Thanks Ben Had.

Leo is 12 years old
Has a severe urinary problem
Has to have frequent blood work done
Goes into hiding whenever anyone comes around.

I could deal with all that. Leo would be by himself upstairs most of the time and there are hidey spots. But I'd sure hate like hell to say "oh I'll take him" and then he not survive the flight from PA to CO

90 Eromero - you have a good heart. I wouldn't have been able to turn my back on Madison either.

There are a few strays that come here daily and I make sure to feed 'em. They're not ferals, you can tell, just lost or neglected. I have a shelter for them in the winter. It's the best I can do for them and they seem to appreciate it. I just can't afford to take them all in and have all the reponsibility that goes with making them "my" cat.

Some of those before pictures are terrible. Worse than our Sally when we got her. And when I took her to the vet that week, everyone was looking at me as if I were a monster.

Incidentally, we got her through a woman who lived in the neighborhood, and told us about this poor neglected Basset. She is about the only leftie who hasn't unfriended my wife, because the dog gives us a pass.

My two rescues have always seemed very grateful for the home. Both of them were adults and came from homes where the owner had passed away, the current one from a very elderly lady who didn't have much money for good dog care. As I got older I decided that adults doggehs were where it's at, and have been very happy with them. IMO, you know exactly what your getting in terms of size and temperament.

105 Beautiful puppehs, all of them.

So sorry about Coco. Standard poodles are wonderful dogs. I used to have one as a next door neighbor and I liked that his owner kept him clipped and groomed with a short all over cut and didn't do foofy show poodle things to him. Poodles started out as hunting dogs. They didn't have that puffy show dog fur then.

106 I counted one - (1) - cat tale in today's post. And some lizard. Otherwise, all dog. I sure miss our good boy, sometimes every day. Gotta say, Freaked's new puppy got the biggest d'aaww from me today.

I really do mean to send in a pic of our kittehs. Could anyone help make the weeks quit blurring by so fast?

Our three cats are all older, and don't (usually) do the kittenish things of climbing on everything or pushing things onto the floor. They know the (very few) places they're not supposed to go include the kitchen and dining table.

Yesterday, when Charlie kept pestering Milady and couldn't get her proper attention, he jumped up on the dining table, sitting neatly on a grocery flyer not the table itself, on the edge, on the far side of the table from Milady. As soon as she got up to scoot him off the table, he got down.

"Hey, now that you're up, how 'bout some fishies?"

He knew exactly how to play her.

A real happy ending! Yay!

I miss our Sparky boy, good kitteh went out one night like normal with the other three, and just never returned. Still so sad, so many moons later. His sister Spirit is now the only cat that 'remembers' the days when the kids were still living at home. And she's old.

wistful sigh

114 Mindful: Cats are picky about where they sit. It has to be the highest available spot. More than once, I have seen a cat jump up on a table with nothing on it but a single piece of paper. The cat always sits on the piece of paper. It puts the cat one millimeter above the table top.

115 Met my sister's new dogs on Thanksgiving. Zena (deliberate spelling) is a pit-something mix who is exceedingly friendly ... had to rescue my glasses and stash them in my purse so I'd be able to see through them without dog slobber! Not very large physically, but her personality is tremendous!

Same for the other one, Jagger ... he's a min-pin and Chihuahua mix ... the cutest dog I've ever seen in person, and also extremely friendly. Love both of them!
