NYT Claim: Horowitz Report Is a Whitewash; Will Claim That DOJ Only Made "Sloppy" Oopsie Accidents, But Did Not Act With Bias

Spin?

But if it's spin, why lower expectations which can later be easily exceeded?

Who knows. These people are not intelligent. They do a lot of stupid things, as stupid people tend to do.

Russia Inquiry Review Is Said to Criticize F.B.I. but Rebuff Claims of Biased Acts<

A watchdog report will portray the pursuit of a wiretap of an ex-Trump adviser as sloppy, but it also debunks some accusations by Trump allies of F.B.I. wrongdoing.

A highly anticipated report by the Justice Department's inspector general is expected to sharply criticize lower-level F.B.I. officials as well as bureau leaders involved in the early stages of the Trump-Russia investigation, but to absolve the top ranks of abusing their powers out of bias against President Trump, according to people briefed on a draft.

Investigators for the inspector general, Michael E. Horowitz, uncovered errors and omissions in documents related to the wiretapping of a former Trump campaign adviser, Carter Page -- including that a low-level lawyer, Kevin Clinesmith, altered an email that officials used to prepare to seek court approval to renew the wiretap, the people said.

Mr. Horowitz referred his findings about Mr. Clinesmith to prosecutors for a potential criminal charge. Mr. Clinesmith left the Russia investigation in February 2018 after the inspector general identified him as one of a handful of F.B.I. officials who expressed animus toward Mr. Trump in text messages and resigned about two months ago, after the inspector general’s team interviewed him.

...

More broadly, Mr. Horowitz’s report, to be made public on Dec. 9, portrays the overall effort to seek the wiretap order and its renewals as sloppy and unprofessional, according to the people familiar with it. He will also sharply criticize as careless one of the F.B.I. case agents in New York handling the matter, they said.

At the same time, however, the report debunks a series of conspiracy theories and insinuations about the F.B.I. that Mr. Trump and his allies have put forward over the past two years, the people said, though they cautioned that the report is not complete. The New York Times has not reviewed the draft, which could contain other significant findings.

So, at least, the Times admits it really only hears what it hears.

Trump, meanwhile, is making much more expansive claims about what the Horowitz report will say.

"Now, what you're going to see, I predict, will be perhaps the biggest scandal in the history of our country," the president continued, noting that he is letting Attorney General William Barr "handle it."

"And, if it's historic, you're going to see something. And then, perhaps even more importantly, you have [John Durham's report] coming out shortly thereafter -- the U.S. attorney -- and he's already announced it's criminal," he added.

I don't have much hope for the Horowitz report. It's probably Durham or nothing.

The only thing I would find shocking in this farce is if the Times is actually wrong on this one and it is a damning report of corruption and betrayal, referring hosts of bigwigs for prosecution. That would make my jaw hit the floor.

But Durham and Barr are going in further and deeper. I hope they nail Brennan, Comey and Clapper but that too may be wishful thinking.

But look at the bright side; none of this would ever be known if Trump had not been elected and the fact that we have a ruling class Deep State that subverts the will of the people at every turn has been exposed as fact.

88 Let me refer to Brian Cates - I have issues with his analysis but there we are.

Anyway, he made a LOT of the fact there was no leaking about this thing. This is how pros work, he says, not like the lying leakers who leak lies.

There are no leaks is proof that this is going to be a thing.

Okay.

So now there are tons of leaks. And these leaks just happen to be happening at resistance central, ie CNN, NYT, WaPo. And this is also after we know that the rport has been available for review by the subjects.

So, presume that Barr's crew doesn't leak. Lying leakers who leak, leak lies. And they are all of the nothing to see here kind.

Hmmm.

Good news for the Trump economy is ALWAYS "unexpected"... and unwelcome also, which is why it's "unexpected."

The UM consumer confidence reading is now back to it's historic highs of 2017.

the IG can only interview those individuals who are still employed at wherever the IG is inspecting. The IG has no subpoena powers, can't acquire evidence not available to them in the organization. They can only recommend action be taken by either reprimands, firing , or recommend charges, They themselves cannot do anything to actually carry out the above actions.

An IG is basically a hall monitor, a tattletale with long format writing skills. And as we have seen in earlier posts today, they can be as corrupt as the individuals they are investigating. An Intelligence agency IG is who changed the whistleblower complaint form to suit the whistleblower.

So that's a no-win right from the start. You can't go up against The Party and not have Party lackeys try to smear you.

If you're silly enough to try taking a trip, scheduling charge stops, and times are the major part of that route. How much of a charge for how long... And typically, they don't stick those things at Vista Point, but more like a crappy section of town, shopping outlets or city hall.

They shouldn't. I wonder what's going on there.

Electric Cars all use VFD's. Current draw through a VFD driven motor is NOT strictly proportional to torque. Speed also plays a component. The lower the motor speed, the higher the current, due to the lack of back-EMF as well as the lack of voltage. Speed and voltage in any variable speed motor MUST remain proportional.

510 Trump is kind of right. It is historic. It is the continuation of our laws being utterly upended for people like Biden auctioning off the VP office to corrupt foreigners or more of the same, absolute bunk on Comey and crew along with Clapper and Brennan just skipping happily off into the sunset.

I honestly don't think it would be happening 25-30 years ago.

PS: I take that back. It all started with Sandy "Burglar" stealing classified documents and not doing so much as a day in prison.

511 95 Everyone knows that first impressions are hard to overcome.

So like the Mueller report, where they first reported that Trump did something wrong, when the report said otherwise, but LOTS of people still believe that first impression?

512 Why do they call him "MR Trump"? Did they call Barack Mr Obama even once in 8 years?
Talk about bias and bigotry...

513 It seems to me the entire purpose of Horowitz's office, and any IG report, is to protect the reputation of the agency by admitting what has to be admitted, and minimizing any systemic concerns. The hope that he will damn the agency, or anyone of importance, has always been false. I don't think Barr should have even allowed him to be the one doing the report. Outside lawyers with no affinity for the FBI/CIA should have been brought in to do it. Or, frankly, the f'ing FISC judges should have done it.

That is what blows my mind the most. There is just no dispute that the FISA court was mislead. These judges just don't GAF? Anyone who was involved in misleading them should, at minimum, have a bar complaint lodged and be held in contempt of court. They should lose their right to practice in federal court pending the outcome.

I have an issue with Trump. He should know what is in the report, but he seems like he is guessing. Why? Horowitz works for him. I would have demanded weekly briefings on the process and, put pressure on him to not whitewash anything. We need reform of these agencies. Yet, Trump appears to have taken very limited control of any of the bureaucracies. Barr is the only guy who knows what he is doing, it seems, and he had to practically beg Trump for the job in the press.

515 When I found Dr. Paul I was in desperate need of bringing my ex lover back. He left me for another woman. It happened so fast and I had no say in the situation at all. He just dumped me after 3 years with no explanation. I contact Dr.Paul through his website and He told me me what i need to do before he can help me and i did what he told me to, after i provided what he wanted, he cast a love spell to help us get back together. Shortly after he did his spell, my boyfriend started texting me again and felt horrible for what he just put me through. He said that I was the most important person in his life and he knows that now. We moved in together and he was more open to me than before and then he started spending more time with me than before. Ever since Dr. Paul helped me, my partner is very stable, faithful and closer to me than before. I highly recommends Dr. Paul to anyone in need of help.
