Remember That FBI Employee Who Lied to the IG About Gifts He Had Taken From CNN, and Then Quietly Resigned...?
Yeah It Turns Out That Was James Comey's Spokesman

So many integrity.

An FBI senior official who resigned under mysterious circumstances last year accepted baseball game tickets from a CNN reporter in 2016 and lied about it to investigators, according to a report obtained exclusively by the Daily Caller News Foundation.

Michael Kortan accepted the tickets from the CNN journalist to at least two games, in May 2016 and September 2016.

Kortan displayed a "lack of candor" during multiple interviews about the tickets. He was prohibited under FBI policy from accepting gifts from reporters who cover the bureau.

He also accepted tickets from a New York Times reporter.

The FBI's top press officer during the Hillary Clinton and Trump-Russia investigations accepted tickets to a Washington Nationals game from a CNN correspondent and lied about it repeatedly during interviews with the Justice Department's inspector general, according to a report obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation.

I understand that "The Dispatch" just hired him as Your Cruise Director Julie.

Whoopie, I suggest you go to your local high school and pick up a copy of their AP US Government textbook. They describe it perfectly, under the name "Iron Triangle." It has no leader because it is a distributed group of people playing with other people's money and influence to advance agendas counter to the will of the people.

An Iron Triangle is when a bureaucratic agency, an interest group, and a congressional committee works together to advance its own agenda and act in its own interests. It is generally considered detrimental to a healthy democratic process because it ignores the interests of the common good for the sake of advancing specific and narrow interests.

Thus the problem they have wrought. I used to obey the law out of respect for the law. I now obey the law *only* because of the consequences for disobeying it should I get caught. I no longer care about the law as such, because it only works against me - not against lawbreakers in the general sense. Law is dead and deserves no further consideration or respect unless it is applied equally again. As I don't see that happening in my lifetime, I am not giving it much further thought.

130 If there are any good people in the FBI and CIA, why aren't they blowing the whistle on their corrupt colleagues?

I think there are, as good as humans get, but there are other concerns.

1) they have to work with these people. Do you want to rat out a coworker?
2) There's a "blue wall" effect at the FBI just like any police department, where its us against them and you stick together no matter what
3) They don't want to lose their cushy top end job and pension. Its all down hill from the FBI in law enforcement if you get canned.
4) Institutional presumption. They're brainwashed into thinking the FBI is incorruptible and the finest law enforcement organization on earth too. If they see wrongdoing, they probably figure its just something they don't understand or that you can trust these people do the right thing.

Its actually interesting. The Law they use to throw people in jail for lying to the FBI, is NOT just about the FBI.

Its about making a Knowingly False Statement to any Federal Agent, or the Government itself.

Now, as the President himself IS an AGENT of the Federal Government, one elected by the people, it seems you could make a case that lying to the President falls under this statute.

Ergo, Comey lying to the President, is in the same Legal Category that Gen. Flynn is being prosecuted under.

That's actually a major development. "Obama" is the one name no one has dared utter in this affair - at least not in the mainstream. This may be a "I was just following orders" play, but it is certainly possible that the cabal has fractured.

The JEF was left out of this up to now. He of course knew about it and may well have been directing it - the Strozk/Page texts revealed that - but the silence around Obama has been deafening until just now...

191 But it isn't. CNN is a political mouthpiece that employs propagandists. As a result, their behavior is expected and ordinary.

Yeah I'm not sure exactly when the transformation happened. Maybe under Obama? But they used to be a news organization. A pretty poor one, but a news source. And they still have a few gestures toward that, as long as its nothing directly political (although they find a way to ram politics in there anyway, even with stuff like weather).

But they're just a straight up political indoctrination show now, they're just a place that whispers sweet lies into the ears of the true believers and snowflakes, a safe space they can retreat to and hear the things they want to hear to feel better about themselves. The New York Times has become the same thing, but we can pinpoint EXACTLY when they changed over: January 2017.

FBI and CIA recruit heavily at - go ahead, guess... - Ivy League schools. So, pretty much, they're in The Club since before they join The Company. Plus, in particular the CIA, they tend to recruit people with a certain, let's just say "flexibility" in their "moral code".

Imagine Obama actually going to prison over this. It won't happen, but I like to imagine.

The last head of the Democratic Party used the power of the state to spy on and frame the new head of the Republican Party, and he started in 2012 in an effort against the one before that. This gets proven to such a degree that he goes to jail.

The media can fret all it wants, but in that (fantasized) instance, the Democratic Party is simply done. It cannot function anymore.

Funny thing that comes up on D&D related things every once in a while.

It's easy to roleplay a character stronger, or faster than you, or sneakier than you. You can even roleplay a character more attractive than you. But it's really hard to actually roleplay a character much smarter than you because you have to think of the things you want your character to do.

They get around this on scripted shows/movies by doing the Sherlock thing. They start with the conclusion and then work backwards from there to decide the evidence they need. Sherlock takes one look at the dead jogger in the park and determines that he wasn't a regular runner. Everyone's stunned and asks how he knows this. Sherlock points to the fact that he's wearing a metal watch (which someone experienced in running wouldn't do because it's extra weight and would chafe), and he's got dirty old sneakers that look like he used them for yardwork earlier in the day, not for running. Everyone marvels at how smart he is. But it's really easy to do when you start with the conclusion and then define backwards (because you're the one writing it) the elements necessary to get to that conclusion.

340 Had a buddy who for a short time bounced at a strip club. For giggles one afternoon he and another bouncer took a black light into the "VIP Room" to try it out - for science, you know.
He said the room looked like someone vomited milk all over every surface, even the ceiling.
He quit that day.

The thing is, we don't know the true extent of Obama's crimes yet. There may be--and I believe there is--a lot more involved than is already evident.

I suspect President Trump is going to face a very tough decision regarding what to do about him when the time comes.

The 16-year-old environmental campaigner has gained international visibility for her climate activism, including a fiery speech to world leaders at the United Nations General Assembly where she accused them of stealing her dreams.

However some are questioning however why Greta, a white child, is gaining so much attention over indigenous activists. They say that Greta is benefiting from a "global system of white supremacy" which has given her "privilege and a platform".

Shutter the DOJ and State Department. Completely close them down and terminate *everyone* - every FBI agent, every HR rep, every US attorney, every janitor. Gut it back to the rafters. Start over with agencies and, critically, a new workforce. Gonna be lean for several years.

Simultaneously with that, shut down the CIA and create two new foreign intelligence agencies that are *not* independent. One is answerable to congress, the other to the president. DoD retains the DIA. Domestic intelligence moves to the Secret Service (from the FBI).

As close to "internal exile" as I can formulate.
