The Morning Report - 8/30/19

codyjcome.jpg

Good morning, kids. Friday and the Labor Day weekend is upon us. Latest on Hurricane Dorian shows that it has the potential to hit Florida as a Category 5 Storm. Also, the President has cancelled his state visit to Poland and no doubt will be marshaling FEMA and other federal resources to mitigate any potential damage when and if it occurs. If you or loved ones are in the potential path of this thing, be prepared, stay safe and get the hell out as soon as the word is given to do so.

Anyway, links from around the world, across the nation and up your street. Have a better one and remain blessed.

NOTE: The opinions expressed in some links may or may not reflect my own. I include them because of their relevance to the discussion of a particular issue.

I'm going to go with dangerously incompetent.

Systemic FUBAR. That is, the system is so comprehensively F'd up that it requires the mind of God to sort it out.

The amount of treachery, self-serving, laziness, sadism, psychopathic, treasonous, incompetent, buck-passing, arse-kissing, procrastination, activist behavior at every level regardless of seniority strongly recommends burning the whole thing down to the ground.

Nuke it from Space, then invite several other countries to empty their arsenals on it too.

40 I don't pretend to know enough about the law, or who did what that might or might not be illegal in this whole "Deep State" mess we have, but the more I hear people on the right calling for prosecutions, where there are none, the more I am wondering if that call isn't a very good idea.

Hear me out.

We once complained about "criminalizing" political behavior, and I won't rehash all that now. The bottom line is, if you come into office, and your instinct is to prosecute everyone who was in office before you, that is surely a way to third world shithole status.

If that is the normalized political way.

Now, we can argue this "Deep State" business is worse than anything that has come before, but it's still largely viewed by most of the voting public as just more political fighting.

So... if there will be cause for prosecutions, there needs to be a much much higher standard for it, than just the typical "we got their guys" action that resulted in people like Michael Flynn and Scooter Libby being prosecuted.

Especially when we're talking about the Director of the F Freakin' BI, or even the former President.

Presuppose, Biden is knowingly being used as a decoy to corral independents and others in an effort to garner enough votes to win the general. It is possible he can do this because of his 'centrist' schtick. Especially compared to the rest of the communists running. But the real plan is to have him pick a radical VP, wherein he will bow out of the presidency after a year, citing poor health or some such malady. Then, they will have their hard left communist guy or gal take the mantle of the presidency (since they would not be able to win over the general public). Thing is, I put nothing past these people.

92 I've been arguing this elsewhere with a bunch of GOPe tools and fuckheads that this overwhelming desire to indict everyone immediately is vindictive and small minded, and won't solve a damn thing.

Ok, so you win an abstract academic argument, here is your pat on the head.

In the real world, where the average IQ is 100, people who have lied, cheated, tried to overthrow the government, abuse power and persecute innocent people and get away with it cause real world problems like total distrust of government, endorsement of lawlessness which ultimately leads to all of those bowls, seals and trumpets in Revelation.

So while someone is getting a parking ticket because one tire is on a white line, they hear on their podcast that a whole class of people are exempt from what amounts to abuse of power and serial felonies, its pretty damned hard to remain civil and not wish for anarchy, or at least to lash out at the system that is so unjust.

Read the declaration of Independence, the crap that you want to wave away with your hand because it appears "vindictive" was the casus belli for war.

Biden can't run on a real agenda because he's walked back almost every position he ever held in a lifetime spent in Washington. He's trying to gently push back on the most radical parts of their agenda with a wink.

Besides the fact it's pretty clear Biden is mentally unstable, he's also using himself as a device for Democrats subversion.

In a Category 5 hurricane, the highest category

destroyed. Commercial buildings with wood roofs will experience severe
damage, metal buildings may collapse and high-rise windows will nearly
all be blown out.

Category 3 hurricane: Devastating damage will occur

In a Category 3 hurricane, winds range from 111 to

and pets from flying and falling debris. Nearly all older mobile homes
will be destroyed, and most new ones will experience significant damage.
Even well-built frame homes, apartments and industrial buildings will
likely experience major damage, and the storm will uproot many trees
that may block roads. Electricity and water will likely be unavailable

I really have no idea what that means, "black letter law."

You mean like the ones Scooter Libby broke? Or Mike Flynn? Or Dinesh D'Sousa? Or Caspar Weinberger?

The problem a lot of you seem to miss, is that you aren't really talking about the law, you're talking about law enforcement, which isn't the same thing. If the other side has effectively corrupted the system, one of the things they've done is shown how selectively law can be and is, enforced.

So... the supreme irony is, you CAN'T just enforce the law now, because the law doesn't mean what it once did.

You can go after these chuckleheads all you want, but you're going to damage your brand quite thoroughly, as just another participant in the same political game the other side is playing, whether you're honest and true and patriotic and trying to enforce "black letter law" or not.

I know no one wants to hear this. But from a standpoint of legal strategy, it was the right decision.

174 Company kicked out of fair over 'I heart gun' T-shirt
https://t.co/FjLVMdKNYu
A company was asked to pack up its booth and leave a Connecticut fair last weekend after its gun-related T-shirt designs caused a stir. The New Britain-based company, Ammo Crafters, is veteran-owned and operated, but the company blames a local politician - who is also a former Marine -for getting them kicked out.

Marcos Diaz, COO of Ammo Crafters, said he was surprised by what happened at the Chester Fair Saturday when First Selectwoman Lauren Gister stopped at their booth.

"(She) pretty much said 'I am offended by what you have going on over here,'" Diaz said.

Gister told WTIC off camera that her issue was with the positioning of a particular t-shirt Ammo Crafters was selling. It showed an AR-15 type rifle. In a picture she took, the T-shirt is seen hanging in their booth, with a school bus as the back drop. And, given all of the mass school shootings, she said that was in poor taste.

Diaz disagreed, saying, "(She's) pretty much saying that it's because of companies like this or it's because of symbolisms like this that school shootings happen, mass shootings happen," he claims.

Gister said she doesn't care what Ammo Crafters sells. And, she acknowledged, it's not the company's fault that the fair positioned their booth right next to a school bus. But, she admits to bringing this to the attention of fair organizers.

The fair president, Tim Comstock, came to the booth after Gister and questioned the authenticity of their products, according to Diaz.

"Then it went from 'oh well it's not that' to 'it's the violent nature of your products'," Diaz said.

The president handed Diaz a $100 check to refund his booth cost and asked the company to leave the fairgrounds.

"All I want is a public apology for what she did," said Diaz, referring to Gister.

Based on sales from other fairs they have attended, Diaz said his company potentially lost several thousand dollars by being forced to leave the Chester Fair a day before it ended.

You're new to this, aren't you?

Under the old paradigm, when we had a Justice System which was quickly perverted into merely a Legal System, you could have a "legal strategy" that had very little to do with what is Right or Wrong, but followed court ceremony and ritual.

Now we have a Court System which means, anything goes, the "law" as they jokingly call it, is made up on the spot, disregarded when expedient and is the fig leaf for the "show me the man, I'll show you the crime" political prosecution.

In case you haven't noticed. The Rules of Civility are long gone. We are in a War. If you don't care to fight for us, would you at least stop fighting for the Enemy?

All of this is leading to Obama. Barr is going to have to depose Obama under oath to determine whether Comey was acting within his Presidential orders or was operating outside of them. It was Obama who ordered the FBI to open the Counter Intel Op on Trump. The Judges overseeing the Flynn and Popadopulis cases are merely bidding time for more 'real' information to surface. These Judges know the case before them is about Comey's FBI not the alledged violations by Comey's FBI and Loretta Lynch's DOJ. This was observable several years ago. Which is explained by your statement, they ARE insane.

Globull Warmening is killing everybody. We're being gassed, just like Hilter did. I'm convinced they really believe that, so the moral equivalency stuff, which you and I hear as insanity, it makes damn well perfect sense to nearly half the country.

The level of delusion is amazing.

I think the Left saw the Tea Party as insane because of criticisms about socialism and governmental overreach. They have embraced insanity as a response.

And they won the 2018 midterms with it.

I feel reasonably confident about a Trump re-election, but the idea that Democrats went full nutso from 2017-2018 and America didn't level them as a party gives me pause.

236 Good article on property rights "... 'this right (2A) illustrates the relationship between rights and obligations that is at the heart of the social compact.'

In fact, Erler goes further, maintaining that 'Anyone who is unwilling or incapable of fulfilling his obligation to cooperate in the defense of his fellow citizens cannot be a member of civil society.' ... "

The local social structure is vital, and individuals have obligations, not "rights to free shit" that the left uses to buy votes. Liberty (imo) is based in standing together as Americans, with civic duties.

The Declaration says " when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security"

Mattis thinks the greatest threat is civil war. He defies the constitution which says it is the duty of the citizenry to throw off such totalitarian government as Mattis and DeepState and most of DC are implementing. WAR.

Those who prosecuted him were able to wreck one man's life and pretend to look good for 2 or 3 years, but now they will be out of power forever and disgraced. I don't think that's a very smart trade-off.

I remember the old 3 musketeers movie where Charlton Heston played Cardinal Richilieu. Towards the end Faye Dunaway asks him why he's letting some enemies get away, and he replies "Weak players can spend their efforts chasing pawns. Great players do not have that luxury."

Tangent:

The Three Musketeers was made at the same time as The Four Musketeers, but none of the actors realized that it was two movies instead of just one. Their contracts said it was one and they were paid as such.

Because of this bit of chicanery on the part of the producers, all actor contracts now have explicit language about the number of films they are signing up for.

Numerous prosecutors with no skin in the game have said this wasn't even a close call. That's not surprising given Comey's role.

I'd rather not go to trial on something that slim and spare the embarrassment of an acquittal. I would much rather have the IG report out there to lay his scheme bare and show what a subversive scheming dishonest asshole Comey is.

Comey, OTOH, tried to overthrow the government after abusing the courts, lying, fraud, abuse of power, leaking classified documents and probably a whole gallery of additional mopery.

I definitely know that's part of it. The rash of resignations, especially in California, hurt.

But America should have still seen a vote for a Democrat in their district as a vote for the people who were screaming incoherently for two years, even if the individual candidate wasn't screaming.

I live in SC-1, and I now have a Democratic congressman. Partially, that's because Mark Sanford is a little bitch who wouldn't support Katie Arrington after she beat him in the primary, but ultimately my neighbors said, "That Cunningham fellow isn't so bad." They saw Nancy Pelosi all but promising violence should Democrats lose and said that they were going to help her gain power.

In a rich country like the US, outside of mental illness, most people who end up in the gutter amount to no more than the sum of a lifetime of bad choices. Trump has placed FAR too many terrible people into critical positions in his Administration, and he continues to do so. Even if he hasn't passed the point of no return, Trump's demonstrated zero willingness to change. He'll continue listening to people like "Cocaine Mitch", right up and until he gets torched come November 2020. Then we all lose, regardless of the choices we personally made in life.

327 Property Taxes cannot be constitutional! I even wonder how interest from saving got to be classified as income. If your city or county have the right to tax property that you own (maybe even free and clear) then it is not really your property.
Posted by: rhennigantx at August 30, 2019 09:23 AM (JFO2v)

Just to be legal here, Property taxes fall under your State Constitution, not the Federal Constitution. People tend to forget this. If your State Constitution allows it (and I guarantee that it does) then those taxes are quite literally Constitutional. And the 10th Amendment to the US Constitution says that any function not specifically named in the US Constitution is left to the several States to decide.

We all know that the 10th gets ignored a great deal of the time, but it still applies in areas like Property Taxes.

The Left means business and if 2020 does not work out their way initially (ie the election route), they will it MAKE it work out their way. 'MAKE' has a lot of meaning but one thing for sure, the Left is not losing in 2020 because of some 'phony ' election.
The Left sees abject weakness and fecklessness of The alleged right to do anything about a subtle coup. I admire the fight in them and also realize the only way to take the fight out of them is Supermax. Period.

You can win a battle or you can win a war. Barr/Trump are clearly focused on the war. The FBI will castrate Comey with their in-house prosecution of his breaking Policies and Employment Agreements. Then Comey will be setup to either defend Obama or turn on him. The big stuff is lying to the courts in order to punish political enemies via entrapment. The Courts don't like this. Neither does the FBI. Draining the swamp isn't done with a Harry Potter Wand - its done by rubbing the nose of hubris in mountains of their own shit. All they have to do is make it appear Texas has turned blue. Game Over. No need to use fraud in the other 49.

363 I'm getting the impression that Trump isn't pissy about Comey skating on the memos.

Maybe he knows what's coming.

No, the system is irretrievably corrupt. Let's say they were going after bigger fish. They would still prosecute Comey, but plea bargain it down some if he cooperated. Plus, how much bigger do you get than Comey. No, we need a new establishment.

364 "We didn't elect Trump because of his royal court in waiting. We elected him to drain the swamp."

Your right we did and he has done everything in his power to do what he promised.

Might you have a list of pristine people he could have picked from who aren't lunatics from the left or swamp creatures from the...............right?

So then, if a business hires terrible people, and continues to do so time and time again, no worries! Just because they have no one to sell, manufacture, and distribute their great product, everything's going to be just fine! I mean, they had a great idea, so who cares if they can actually put it in action. No worries at all!

367 The Dems won in 2018 bc they addressed HC. It was the number one issue, if you go look at the polls. Incumbents lost bc they voted for replacement and then McCain stabbed them in the back. Guess what the number two priority is for voters, now? HC, just trailing immigration by a few points. The R party needs to address the inequities in Obamacare, that illegals get HC for free, while Joe Smith pays thousands a year in premiums, that your kid's student loan has an usurious interest rate bc it helps pay for the indigent, and catastrophic, reasonably priced coverage is gone for the working poor. They must address this issue to remove it from the D's arsenal.
