At least one camera stationed in the hallway outside billionaire financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein's prison cell, where officials say he hanged himself earlier this month, had footage that was deemed unusable, The Washington Post reports. While one hallway camera had unusable footage, another nearby camera caught clearer video, the Post noted, adding that it is unknown why certain footage was useable while some was not, as well as the extent of the glitch.Okay, jokes aside, it sounds like both cameras were filming the same thing (pretty much), and one glitched, but the other provided usable footage. So I don't think this proves a conspiracy. Yet. Comments(Jump to bottom of comments)1

had footage that was deemed unusable
The key word here is "deemed." "Deemed" by whom? Was it in fact totally blank, zero imagery? Or was it merely substandard in some way? Or, more sinisterly, "deemed" to be unusable because it showed nefarious characters entering Epstein's cell? I find it very telling that the article doesn't say that the footage WAS unusable, or 9even more incisively) was NONEXISTENT, but rather was "deemed" to be "unusable." It has been pointed out elsewhere that there was no reason for him to commit suicide before the trial. Last time he was on trial he basically skated. There was no reason to expect he would treated any differently--he's a top Dem donor after all.
After the trial, when he was given a harsh sentence...well, there's still appeals. He was about to bring out some very sordid details about people in both parties. What they didn't realize is that the public would care for a couple of weeks, then go on to the next shiny object. Posted by: BeckoningChasm at August 27, 2019 02:23 PM (19g6/) 81

Posted by: I Have Questions There was a "big scandal" in San Francisco when a mass-robbery occurred on a BART (subway) train car, where 30 "youths" seized control of the car and robbed everyone inside before fleeing at the next station. Since all BART cars have surveillance cameras permanently installed in the ceiling (and which are clearly visible to passengers), everyone demanded to see the video of the incident. It was only at this point where BART was forced to admit that ALL of the surveillance cameras were fakes, and have never been recording anything. Conspiracy, methinks not.
1. Guard's were over worked and were short personnel 2. Taken off suicide watch despite earlier attempt. 3. Required checks by guards were not done for several hours before he was found. 4. Guards falsified records about required checks. 5. Marks on his neck more commonly associated with murder by strangulation than suicide. 6. Overcrowding requires 2 prisoners per cell but Epstein had no cellmate. 7. Cameras had unusable footage in the day of tech mastery. 8. And most damning of all, Bill Clinton's presence on flights to and from Epstein's island with underage girls. How much more evidence is needed before the conspiracy theory becomes full blown truth. I rest my case. Posted by: Bigfoot at August 27, 2019 02:32 PM (cTuj5) 145

167 Epstein was connected to the Clintons, probably had dirt on them and wound up dead.
------------------- I make Epstein as a partner with the Clintons. He has the same instincts as Hillary with regards to collecting dirt on people to build wealth and power. He was the hunter with a bevy of underage decoys to entrap targets necessary to build the Clinton machine and keep in loyal. If you're Hillary and married to a sociopath you need all the weapons possible to become the First Woman President Evah. Go back and look at who attacked Sarah Palin unmercisely and you will find agents of the Clintons. You don't have to look far, they are all in SDNY. I bet half the half the cameras and other surveillance electronics in most prison facilities are marginal to completely non-operational. Stuff like that is probably constantly targeted by the prisoners and aren't maintained very well anyway. Going by what I've seen my couple times in the county jail.
Posted by: I Have Questions at August 27, 2019 02:21 PM (BvNzB) The cameras do not matter. That is just stray voltage. Warden Affirmativeaction had ONE job: to keep Epstein alive and on ice until his testimony was required. If she felt she could not trust the cameras, she should have assigned 2 or 3 guards to sit in that hallway 24/7, or even do it herself. If I were the warden, I would not want that high-value prisoner to die on my watch, by any means whatsoever. Unless, of course, I knew I would be getting a payoff that amounted to "fuck you" money. Hernandez committed those crimes in part because of brain damage, courtesy the NFL
Bullshit. - Celebrity Autopsy suggests that was a contributing factor. He definitely had CTE, possibly the worst case ever for someone so young. Also contributing, unresolved anger resulting from the death of his father and Herculean drug use. Before he was drafted, the NFL gave him a standard mental/emotional health evaluation on which he scored a big 1 out of a possible 10, but he was such a phenom the Patriots drafted him anyway. I can't tell you how many people I've seen start off their careers in state government, bright eyed and bushy tailed and ready to change things to make them more efficient and streamlined and user-friendly, only to have their dreams crushed under the miserable weight of the bureaucratic leviathan. A year into the job they either leave to find something in the private sector, or they become another cog in the machine. No, it doesn't. Thousands and thousands of men played football without killing anyone. Very few gang bangers get by without whacking someone. And living in Patriots country we heard all about Hernandez criminal past, his criminal future and all the scumbags he was involved with including members of his own family. The preponderance of evidence points to him doing what the overwhelming number of people like him do, commit violent criminal acts. But that also means that the NFL is riddled with wife beating, murdering, raping, violent thugs. Not exclusively, and not the majority, but far more than the general population. And the NFL is fine with that. Posted by: Christopher R Taylor at August 27, 2019 03:05 PM (KZzsI) 346

One of the weirder ones was the couple where the wife was going to testify against Bubba in some harassment case. She killed herself. A year later her husband was found at her grave site, dead by suicide.

monitoring their employees behavior after work? At the end of the day NFL players are salaried employees of the NFL. What they do after hours is their own business. Posted by: Lurking Lurker - Not In My Purview at August 27, 2019 03:03 PM (Ri4j/) We're in a different time now. In the past things were able to be kept quiet. Maybe not murder, but domestic problems, minor crimes, etc. Nowadays everyone has a camera. Everything with celebrities hits the news in minutes. Billion-dollar corporations have to protect their brand. Sports franchises are billion-dollar corporations. It's a cost-benefit calculation. How much damage can the brand take and survive versus how many games will we lose. Posted by: Brian in New Orleans at August 27, 2019 03:05 PM (CQ3Qb) 350

Axshually, not true. All NFL players have a good conduct clause in their contract which holds them to a higher standard of conduct at all times. I'm still bemused by how bad "security camera" footage is these days. Every time I see a "HAVE YOU SEEN THIS MAN?" still photo (black and white naturally) used on posters and newscasts they always look like they're taken from a mangled videotape from 1985.

Employers such as the NFL have a risk in employing thugs. When they see the risks of the thugs outside activity they will quit hiring thugs. until the risks do not outweigh the benefits nothing will change. NFL players are just genetic freaks that work hard play a game for money.(same as all the other pro sports).

Said it before, even people who flunked stat for non-majors have a grasp of probability theory.
MCC has a terrific record for not having suicides. And country lockup probably has more than one. And here we have people not in to sleep it off before being charged with DUI. We have bad people, warped people, looking at a very dark future. But MCC managed to get by for decades with only one failure. To presume that the boys always slept through their shifts, and always falsified the logs and the cameras were never checked is possible, but it fails when you consider that....the system worked very well for decades. So, either they had incredible luck while goofing off, or they didn't ever goof off. Except this night with regard to a guy a lot of people would wish dead already for purposes of convenience, not justice. The highest profile prisoner outside of supermax in the country. This one night... Could be true...but....the probability? Posted by: Richard Aubrey at August 27, 2019 04:03 PM (fikzx) 389
