Oh, My: Capital Police Strongly Imply That, Despite the Squad's Claims That They Are the Subjects of Intolerable Death Threats, They're Not Receiving More Threats Than Many Others

Via Karen Townsend at Hot Air (yeah I know but she's okay), it seems as though The Squad might be employing the crybully tactic of "damselling" made popular by feminist Anita Sarkesian but then perfected by femmy David French.

The threat assessment regarding members of the squad, who have recently clashed with President Trump, remains low compared to some other lawmakers.

One source told Fox News that even though the four had been in the news a great deal, they were still low-profile, freshman members.

Some lawmakers' significant others are more worried about safety than the lawmakers themselves.

There is concern in the security ranks that if the U.S. Capitol Police (USCP) responds to the "noise" surrounding the squad, it may actually miss more bona fide threats against other lawmakers.

"Damselling" is internet slang for being a constant attention whore and drama cyclone and always claiming you're under attack, usually to gain sympathy, White Knights, and even money (especially through Patreon donations) and jobs (from leftwing media looking for leftwing "victims" of the right).

I.e., Anita was having to hear the truth. And she was seeing that others were hearing it too.

Anita Sarkeesian is a woman who inserted herself into the video game industry as a consultant to "help" game developers avoid misogynism. When Gamergate erupted, she leaped into it.
Sadly *cough* she was recently forced to shut down her non-profit consulting business as the three employees (including herself) on the payroll were apparently just too much for the company's shoestring (/sarcoff 1.6 million, iirc) budget.

98 Update

Just got off phone with Dad. He started having chest pains yesterday evening and Mom and him went into the hospital. They did all the tests once he was whisked in the emergency room. He said 'chest pains' and the staff went into overdrive to get him admitted.

They put a stint in. Brother thinks above the heart, my brother is such a moron sometimes... They also gave Dad a shot in the side of the abdomen to help keep the blood thin and such, he was told not to touch it, and it is itching like crazy.

But if everything checks out, he will be released tomorrow.

Thank you Horde for your prayers. Though everything looks good, being a near miss and all that. I still feel like I am being torn up inside just thinking about what could have been.

Yep, green like noticeable. I've lived here my whole life and seen it before so I figure everyone has? I don't think it's specific to a region? 236 Heart attack anecdote:

I had 5-6 episodes of bad heartburn over 3-4 days. When it happened again on day 4, I called 911. Ambulance folks ran an EKG here at the house and said it looked "mostly normal" and suggested I contact my doc. The next day it happened again, I called 911 and the same folks arrived. Same thing, "mostly normal" ekg, BP a bit high. They said it was my call as to whether they transported. I said let's just get me in, I need to be checked.

Joked around with the ambulance EMT on the way, all was fine. They got me into a room, hooked me up to an EKG, said everything looked "mostly normal" but they would keep me an hour or so, monitoring.

The heartburn thing started again while I was in my emergency room cubicle. Someone poked their head in when I hollered, took one look at the EKG and called a code STEMI. I had a cardiologist at my side within a couple of minutes. He told me I was having a major heart attack. I had a team on me and was in the cath lab within about 5 minutes. And a constant companion from the minute they called the code all the way through the procedure, of one person standing by with paddles.

Turns out it was the widow maker and by the grace of G_d I was in the emergency room when it happened. 100% blockage in the LAD artery. One stent and four months later I am (more or less) good as new.

My message is: better safe than sorry. Do not ignore what seems like something that will pass.

Apparently the district has sent out threatening letters to parents warning that they will abduct their children and place the kids in to foster care if the deadbeat parents don't pony up on their little reprobate's overdue school lunch bills.

We are talking about over $20,000 that the district is wanting to collect with the four top deadbeats allegedly owing as much as $450.

Yep. The school district is willing to separate children from their parents for no more than four hundred and fifty dollars.

328 I had the opposite. I thought I was having a heart attack as I was finishing snow-shovelling the sidewalk and driveway (after having eaten a bacon and egg breakfast) but the usual symptoms didn't worsen and I felt much better later. Then I had a similar 'attack' just laying down on a couch a day or so later so I made an appointment with my GP who told me to call 9-1-1 if it happened again before my appt in the next few days. Just before bed I had eaten some dessert bars my mom had made that were peanut butter and mini-marshmallows; laid down and had another bad attack, so I called the ambulance. Luckily, it turned out to be severe GERD but after the 3-day hospitalization and testing, my GP told me again consulting later that you should call 9-1-1 if you ever have heart-attack symptoms.

433 I've seen a green sky on a couple of occasions,

Green skies are NOT good.

I was at a Saturday festival facilitated by the management company for the hi-rise our company occupied. Lots of food, fun and people.

then the sky turned green.

With a few other people I went inside the building to go show them the vacant top floor that was circled by a balcony so we can watch the storm blow in.

It did. Boy howdy. As soon as the elevator doors opened, the change in the floor space's pressure dropped and the powerful winds that instantly kicked up blew in two of the massive floor-to-ceiling windows wrapping the building.

The rain came blowing in horizontally and was getting the floor wet as far as forty feet from where the windows blew out.

Never did make it out on to the balcony, but it was absolute mayhem down below as tables, chairs, decorations, etc. were violently being blowing around.

I have always been concerned about green skies since.

Hi, Empire1. Lots of experience with that! LOL

First of all, if his colonoscopy revealed diverticulOSIS, there is no need to worry. That just means that there are tiny pockets that have formed in the walls of the intestines. They are very common, especially in those who have attained the median Horde age of 29.

The problems arise when one or more of those pockets become inflamed/infected. Then you've got diverticulITIS. Big difference. Most times diverticulitis can be treated with antibiotics, but sometimes if there is an abscess or perforation, surgery is required.

But note: most people live many years--or even forever--with absolutely no issues with their diverticulosis.

Follow-up with his PCP's NP today (PCP on vacation). No additional meds, still minor pain if he sits wrong. NP said it's not something you get over, just lets up or gets worse.

487 You mentioned a Suburban last night. Was this a buying trip?

Yes. 1996 GMC 1500 Suburban 4X4. Evidently has some problem in the transmission, slips in higher gears? It got itself out the the divots in the ground it had settled into, and up onto my trailer with no trouble at all. Nicely equipped, leather seats, third row seat, body kit.

And it came with an Echo weed whacker.

You can upload them to ___ur (free photo hosting site). You'll be given a unique link for each photo and can paste that link (i would use a shortener, like bitly) here in the comments. I'd enjoy seeing them.

490 Empire1:

Sounds like he got an infection without perforation or abscess. If he had either of those, they probably would have kept him for a day or two on intravenous antibiotics.

My husband had one severe attack, with perforation, about 14 years ago. In hospital overnight on IV antibiotics, and then oral at home. He has taken one FiberCon each day since and has never had another episode.

I, on the other hand, just had an infection (no perf) but ended up with a severe reaction to the IV antibiotics in the ER. Thank God I was there--anaphylactic shock. Long story short, they had a helluva time finding an antibiotic I could take and so I couldn't shake the infection. Ended up with a partial colectomy 4 months later. Surgery was done robotically and I was back to work after about 8 days. Have never felt better!

491 Argh. Just looked at the pics. They show the sky as bluish gray not green. I sure remember the sky as green tho! Still, ugly weather!

Here in hurricane country, I've always thought of it as the AIR being green, against a wicked looking dark sky.

494 Yeah. Might have run for cover before the sky turned green also. It was very, very, very bad. Ha. Pretty sure we had accommodations in Platte City at the time and someone stole the front license plate off of all the vehicles at the motel. Good times.

495 I'm just throwing this out there for general consumption.Kids today do not often enough hear "Shut the hell up." If they persist, this would normally be followed by, "You don't know what the hell you are talking about." If questioned further, the proper response would be "I will now beat your ass."

496 Yeah I understand there are a number of rightwingers in black hoodies, masks, and backpacks waiting for them to play softball so they can gun them down in the pursuit of social justice. Everyone remembers the mindless violence of the Tea Party types.
