Sandy Cortez: The Lead in the Water Pipes in Flint, Michigan Was Put There by Climate Change or Something

Alexandria Donkey-Chompers, Loud n' Ign'ant!

Cash me outside!

The Sage of Yorktown Heights also opined that the flooding DC experienced yesterday was due to global warming.

It's all global warming these days! Maybe you fellas need a refresher course!

63 The thing is, this what the Climate Change scam has been about since the very beginning, I've been watching it and fighting against it (with the few abilities I have) since at least 2008. AOC is just the tool who's mouthing the words that were scripted for her.

10 - 20 years ago the Warmists had already settled in on their claims of "Everything Bad is Climate Change!" It was clear even then that was never anything more than a tool that could be use to gain political power.

And I pause for a moment there - even people on our side forget sometimes that this issue, from the very beginning of it 30 years ago, has NEVER been anything other than a tool designed by the left to aid them in grabbing power.

So now, AOC is simply reading the script that was prepared for someone like her decades ago.

I did the math yesterday based on the plant they have in Abu Dhabi with it's 3.2 million panels to supply 90000 people.

We could build that here to supply the US, and well, fluck Massachusetts, because that's about the right surface area we'd need for the solar panels to do it.

When the group that founded what would become the Federal Reserve started meeting about the idea of a new national bank, one of the key opponents to the idea was American industrialist John Jacob Astor. He had serious influence and was the richest man in the world at the time. He was a huge impediment to the plan for a new national bank. He refused to attend their conference on Jekyll Island in 1910.

When their plan got further along, he continued to raise opposition. He may have been able to defeat it, but we'll never know - he died when the Titanic sank and a year and change later, the Federal Reserve Bank was formed.

The other industrialists who desired the new national bank arranged for his death. The thousands of others who died were collateral damage to avoid the pall of assassination from hanging over the Federal Reserve's foundation. The whole thing was a ploy to kill off JJ Astor.

I think I saw that mentioned by Scott.

Perhaps odd in a strictly logical sense, but forms a pre-rational principle that forged the Western Civilization.

I think I saw that mentioned by Scott.

Perhaps odd in a strictly logical sense, but forms a pre-rational principle that forged the Western Civilization.

But that's a hyper-rational reaction. What doesn't make sense to us, can't possibly be rational to a "higher intelligence". So since dogs can't figure out how we're such great "hunters", we have to be awesome "hunters'!
Posted by: Axeman at July 09, 2019 03:15 PM (DuZls)

Don't get me started on the movie 'Noah'.

Of course you CAN make that statement but if you're going to make that in a movie, you need to...actually show it.

Ok, here's another conspiracy theory that I believe:

Ridley Scott is a mediocre film director but a good director of photography.

375 When the group that founded what would become the Federal Reserve started meeting about the idea of a new national bank, one of the key opponents to the idea was American industrialist John Jacob Astor.

No no. souls are self transporting. Just hit them on the nose.

Now what God contracts out is observers. It's said that God can see everything. But what he doesn't have is billions of eyes. So he leases them from humans. Usually loners and weirdos cause he wants observations of different stuff and not the same ol' shit every day.

The upside is the observers never get stuck in any really bad situations (those are manned by those judged deserving) and they never are real losers but they're never real winners either.

They live a little bit longer and they look younger so they blend in better everywhere.

They're like Scouts (no not with the scarf and stuff but like indian scouts) where they scope out the dangerous parts of the trail and find out where the hazards are only without getting stuck in the hazards.

It's either boring as Heck or you're scared to death cause see the observers don't know they're observers until like they get real old.

This was explained to me by Bozo Conservative, Certified Scientist.

Back in the day, there was leaded gas. The high lead levels back then comes from breathing in leaded gas fumes.

Which does make more sense than "eating paint chips." But Big Oil and Big Cars didn't want you to know that.

Film is a visual genre, and so shotting is an important part of being a film director.

Blade Runner is a primo film, if oddly-paced...and well, odd. However, knowing that Hauer ad-libbed his stellar monologue at the end and that Scott knew enough to keep it in says something on both sides of that argument.

I still argue that the Noahic reasoning of God is rather unreachable to us from our perspective, and that replicating that scenario becomes truer without a full conscious understanding of a creator who regrets his creation.

In fact, I believe it's quite a swipe at God, since the Seeders make no pretense of "omniscience" or "omnipotence". I think that's why it's in the film. It is Scott's theological way to explain "the perfect killing machine" The Alien has been suggested to be, and also an illustration that God can't be perfect just potent if he relented his creation.

That's the neurotic part.

I have friends in the Bay Area who seem to think that death is optional. Sure, if you ask them outright, they deny it, but deep down that is their belief.

Whenever anyone has a health problem of whatever magnitude, from trivial to grievous, they instantly point out that that person ate red meat, or did not eat organic vegetables, or something of that ilk, and then go on to distinguish their habits from his, implicitly asserting that that is why that won't happen to them.

It hurts too much to think of "curled dimensions" as the Elders of Science tell us, because curled is within a dimension--which makes us speak about them as dependent dimensions not orthogonal, which we are talking about in terms of N-axes.

The Elders of Science are trying to explain something that they are not competent enough to explain. We might not see 6 dimensions because 1) they are only theorectical, or 2) that's not how Earth vision operates.

Too many times the Priests of Science try to "explain" something they are not competent enough to explain. Just to win your conviction that the "natural universe" doesn't "need a God". It *does* however need something that transcends what we know, and so somebody observing rigor instead of populace herding, would categorize that as inderterminate--not "explainable".

The Priests of Science pull too many things out of their ass.

3. "Drill and kill" is, among teachers, thought to be the worst method of education. That's true for a small percentage of creative and smart kids; the rest of them could do very well having grammar, math, history, logic, etc drilled into them.

Mermaids are half-people, half-fish. Traditionally, we understand that the top half is the person, which is all well and good when you're painting a nice pair of bewbs, but the functional part is all fish.

If you're going for reverse-mermaids, then they've got a fish torso and human legs, I suppose they're sex-able, but at that point, I'm not sure you'd want to. Though, maybe I'm making too many assumptions about your standards.

Oh, it was jarring to me too--and I really didn't like it, until I picked on the verbal clues in the movie. It was an *after* thing to me.

While I actually liked the ironic ending to Unbreakable seated in the theater--it only jarred me for a second.

There is an old style of dramatic presentation that suggest that you *hint* at the larger themes you touch on through the coloring of the dialogue, which I believe Scott did--however, immediately I was satisfied with this disjointed equivalence.

Kubrick's movies were somewhat dry and flat, but he was a deceptively subtle messenger of his theme. Which is why it lends a modicum of credence to the Hidden Message(s) in The Shining.

Posted by: Cato, Media Delenda Est at July 09, 2019 03:40 PM (J+mig)
---
One of the most dismaying developments of Science that I have seen is a rebellion against strict limits on decidability in preference to a faith in an intuition of Scientists (while they generally malign intuition in general). And the result is that a few people involved in Science have actually tried to leverage a conclusion on ignorance--or undecidability--into a principle of determination!

Hawking does this. He takes Heisenberg's Uncertainty principle and violates the limited logical constraints of it. He elaborates from HU that says that we cannot determine the position and velocity at the same time, that behind the scenes, it cannot have a position and velocity at the same time--and THEN violates the definition of cognizable position without velocity because he THEN concludes that 0 is a velocity value, and a particle CANNOT have position AND 0 VELOCITY!

And it actually sets the stage for his violation of the Einstein's geometrical model of gravity, which would suggest that if a black hole could pull everything into it by "warping space" it had basically created a geometry where you pass from a vector outwards to no vector outwards.

When you just start getting stupid on me---I gotta draw the line.

I esteem Hawking, to a degree. Hawking actually works best where he argues as a Scientific skeptic of established principles, but I can tell he's violating the constraints of the implication of logical complements in this line of reasoning.

And I see his slow transition to an atheist naturalist at work here.

678 Am I cranky about Scientists?

You bet. When you tell me you're an expert, and are a measuring stick of the rational universe--the universe that "makes sense", and I try a couple of times to understand your great revelation that you've given me as Revealer of Mysteries of the Universe, and you say it's all "logical" and when I finally have put enough time into your theory that I can see underlying blatant missteps in logic (A 1980s study shows that Scientists do not make any fewer logical errors on balance than mere Humans.)

And disconnects with the accepted conventional models of Science as practiced. Then that universe doesn't "make sense"-- that chief criterion of a "rational universe model", you have "explained" (made plain) nothing to me--induced hard-fought massive-cognitive-dissonance in me, and left me to deal with it.

You didn't even leave a 20 on the nightstand.

684 ACA 5th Circuit of Appeals hearing update from CNN

An appeals court in New Orleans has been hearing a case that would strike down the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare.

The hearing just wrapped up.

The two Republican-appointed judges on the three-judge panel strongly suggested that Congress, by eliminating the individual penalty for not having health insurance under the law, had jeopardized the basis for the entire law under the Supreme Court's 2012 ruling.

715 Long ago and far away when I was a horny teenage boy, I'd do my best to get next to the best looking girl in the class, and I'd listen to whatever pap she was speaking and nod "Yes, yes yes. You are soo clever and smart. Now, can I get into your pants?"

Won't say it always worked. The smart ones blew me off-- had to try a different approach with the smart ones. The dumb ones with air between their ears (Ms. Ocasio Cortez, I'm talking about you) would usually succumb to the "you're so smart" approach.

Times and techniques haven't changed--Sandy has been told she's smart a lot of times--and she believes it. I suspect a lot of young men got "lucky" where she's concerned.
