The Morning Report - 6/26/19

romnream.jpg

Good morning kids. Midweek and you'll be happy to know that with the insanity at the border, Iran goading us into attacking them and lighting up the Middle East, Chi-Com and Russian mopery, dealing with the aftermath and attempted cover-up of the attempted overthrow of this President, and the concomitant Democrat obsession in doing anything and everything to utterly destroy whatever's left of what they haven't savaged since 1913, Mitt Romney and Joni Ernst have gone on record that their top priority is... fully investigating the latest rape-allegation-du-jour against the President, now from this E. Jean Carroll.

The fact that CNN, which is the de-facto house organ of anything and everything anti-Trump, during an interview by Anderson Cooper had to cut away from her when she declared rape to be a sexual turn-on, should put the nail in the coffin of this borderline psycho fraud (NB: she has ties to the Lisa Bloom of Dewey, Cheatham & Howe infamy). That is if the parade of liars, whores and frauds who pelted candidate and President Trump with rape allegations since the summer of 2015, including the piece de resistance Sloppy Daniels and her former creepy porn shyster soon to be incarcerated felon Michael Avenatti didn't end this once and for all.

But, no. Mittelschmerz and his Iowa remora think that this - T.H.I.S. - is the issue of the day that must be thoroughly investigated lest the foundations of the American republic crumble into the dust. In my own words, get fucked and go to hell. Romney is a bitter, jealous has-been. The guy couldn't eve beat McStains in '08 and when he finally was anointed in '12 did worse against Obama after four years of disaster than McStains when we had yet to experience the madness. But, that was his job. Preserve, protect and defend the Deep State Globalist Enterprise by acting as the Republican stooge. And of course get paid quite well, like the whore that he is. Meh, that's an insult to hard-working whores everywhere. And don't think that I haven't noticed the deafening silence about this from far too many in the GOP-e. Despicable.

Now, on to the trivial matters despite the national crisis demanding full attention by Mitt 'n Mutt. At the border, all of the 2020 Dem hopefuls are fully on board with some sort of total amnesty ahead of tomorrow's debate-cum-clown show, with Fauxca-Has-Been upping the ante by demanding decriminalization of illegal border crossing. VP Pence has hit the nail on the head that because of Trump, Mexico has done more to seal their border in 10 days than in the previous 10 years, Chiquita Khruschev is shrieking about the cruelty inflicted by us on the poor little illegal alien kiddies while at the same time denying funds to actually help them and cheering on Wayfair employees for walking out on the company selling beds to the CBP for the kids to use. Paradise on Earth, people, even if it short-dicks every kulak in Kiev. That said, with the McAleenan kerfluffle still unresolved, the acting border chief has resigned due to the "concentration camp" non-scandal, Chip Roy boxes the Dems in with Obama's own proposal, Mexico confirms we warned them about ISIS south of the Rio Grande, media hot and horny to use dead kids as agitprop just like in Lebanon and Gaza, Rosie O'Donuts proves fire can't melt stupid, and the immigrant truck driver who plowed into and killed a group of bikers is a prime example of a failed bureaucracy. Yes, amnesty and open borders please!

Clinton/Obama Coup and Mueller Cover-Up: Robert Mueller is going to testify in open hearings next month, and the so-called "black cash ledger" used to throw Paul Manafort in political prison may be as factual as the Steele Dossier. I can't even.

Dem Scandal Sheet: No wonder Sandersnista's aide is hot and horny for college debt forgiveness.

Civil War 2.0: Eric Trump is lucky he wasn't facing down another Durbin-connected James Hodgkinson. One day, one of these vermin are going to spit on the wrong guy. Meh, in a grander sense, isn't this really the story of the Democrat-Left vis a vis America?

Politics: Get you popcorn ready for Thursday's mass shit-show, Mayor Buttplug is under attack for his woefully poor performance in the South Bend police shooting, WaPo now pumping out hit pieces on Joe Bidet, Good Roger Simon on Trump and the black vote, will suburban moms flip Texas to the Dems, California is going to purge inactive voters from the rolls (and replace them with illegal aliens, no doubt), CPUSA seemingly set to subsume the Democrat Party, demands for Dems to release their secret SCOTUS list and Salena Zito ponders the fate/direction of Trumka and big labor.

First Amendment and Fake News Fakery: Several links on the revelations and fallout from the Google expose by Project Veritas, why does Trump expose himself to the leftist MFM, on CNN's disastrous ratings, two edged sword of SCOTUS and the WW1 crucifix ruling and Daniel Greenfield rips into MSNBC.

Guns: Boston Rabbi proclaims Jews with guns kosher, and study shows guns used in crimes are obtained shortly before the crimes are committed.

Foreign Desk: Iran dominates the headlines, with Senator Barasso stating Trump can attack without Congressional approval (hmm, not sure on that one), a definite call against war vis a vis the Saudis and what Iran's bluster really means. For me, they desperately want to goad Trump into a war as the sanctions are having a severe effect on them. Elsewhere, new sanctions on Chi-Com supercomputers, Spengler is going wobbly on tariffs, UN Rights flunky wants ISIS terrorists protected (six feet of dirt on top does wonders), Caroline Glick spot on about Mohammed Morsi and part two of Rabbi Dov Fischer's exploding of the myth of Palestine. Go back to yesterday's post and bookmark part one and this.

DEE-Fense: The failure to adequately deal with PTSD in our vets.

We-All-Slam-For-I-Slam: Islamic subversion right here at home and another look at this phony Islamophobia-caused triple murder.

Domestic News: Stephanie Grisham tapped to replace Sarah Sanders as White House spokesman, Chiquita Khruschev's "Fight For $4,500!" gets dumped again, California woman wins huge settlement against feral state CPS that seized and abused her toddler, San Francisco is officially insane, and Randy Newman's follow up to "I Love LA" will be "Bring Out Your Dead."

The Economy, Stupid: Come July, we will have the longest period of growth in US history and Obama will take a break from the Cote d'Azur to take credit, socialist "woke-ness" breeds the poverty they claim to be curing and how to beat the Chi-Coms in the 5-G race.

Crime and Punishment: Ohio's cap on punitive damages will cut the payout to Gibson's Bakery (and no doubt embolden Oberlin and the Left), and a troublesome decision by Justice Gorsuch who joined with the left on violent criminals.

Education: Two essays including David Harsanyi on the madness of Sandersnista's college tuition bailout.

Feminazism, Transgender Psychosis, Homosexualization: Yes, we can stop drag queen reading hour to the kiddies, a tranny who spoke out against teaching this bilge to kids makes an Antifa goon go nuts, and making LGBT a protected class will indeed destroy first amendment protections on religious liberty. Except a certain religion of peace, no doubt. Good times, people.

Hither and Yon: Clint Eastwood on the boycotting of Georgia over its abortion law: "LOL, get fucked!" Lastly, Christian Toto on the importance of a Dice Clay and Roseanne duo.

Anyway, links from around the world, across the nation and up your street. Have a better one and remain blessed.

NOTE: The opinions expressed in some links may or may not reflect my own. I include them because of their relevance to the discussion of a particular issue.

13 Willowed

And yes, the housing BS still makes me furious. I knew a young couple who had saved and sacrificed for years of their marriage in order to save a 15% down payment. The bubble burst and they were in the position to buy a really nice home that they could afford, and one they could live in for the rest of their lives.

Except the government kept the people who couldn't afford their expensive homes in their expensive homes, rewarding their bad decisions, and that young couple got to keep looking at decent but still starter homes that they would move out of in ten years.

I was never a fan of Clay, but I have heard him speaking interviews and he's actually a fairly rational, somewhat sensitive man. With a humbled Roseanne and both being obvious targets of the tyranny, it could be quite good IMHO.

That is if it doesn't get censored let alone gree-lit anywhere.

18 Delighted to hear about Eastwood's new movie, even more for its story of media calumny than the fact it's being filmed in Georgia (can't wait to see the actors who signed up squirm over this). There hasn't been a movie on the despicably dishonest media since "Absence of Malice." Incredible.

Officials did not identify those killed, in accordance with U.S. Department of Defense policy preventing the release of names of service members killed in action until 24 hours after notification of next of kin is complete.

A Resolute Support spokeswoman referred questions about the incident to U.S. Special Operations Command, which could not immediately be reached for comment.

There now have been nine U.S. troops killed in Afghanistan this year and 2,426 fatalities since the start of combat operations there in October, 2001, according to iCasualties.org

124 We are in AFG. Period, full stop and we've been told for years, by president's from both parties, that's where the "real" war was. Indeed, I would partially agree with that. UBL was there, as is AQ and his support base.

However, the Taliban, who was really ISIS before ISIS was cool, needs to be put down like a dog. They are a terrorist group with larger ambitions besides turning the AFG people back to the 8th century (again). The place still needs to be mopped up so we are not back there again.

Pompeo has made it clear his deal is not with the AFG government and the Taliban will need to negotiate that directly. But it probably won't happen unless we are around to be the stick. I suspect that's why Pompeo is saying if we "withdraw" there is no timeline. He's trying to make sure we don't get snookered.

At a minimum we should keep an active based in Bagram. That's just wisdom.

Frankly, I'm growing a little tired of the isolationist, no war is a good war faction. Nobody hates war more than me, but they have existed over the course of human history. You're not going to un-invent war, so you need to deal with it. No doubt we should be very selective about WHY we fight and that includes putting down people who are adversaries before they have a chance to build up, no matter where they are.

The problem is that today's "no war" crowd in Trump World mostly can't find their asses with both hands and a flashlight. They're unrealistic idealists who don't live in the real world or understand the complexities of these threats...until it's too late or so large of a problem lot's of people, Americans get killed. September 11th, 2001 called, it says "hey".

Priority One for the GOP is not, has never been, and will never be victory over the DNC, advancement of the Conservative agenda, or the obstruction of Progressive politics. Priority One has always been retaining power in DC exclusively to the Political Class ... preferably Republican, but Democrat if necessary.

Trump is not of the Political Class. I believe some thought he could be turned - like many were in the Tea-Party surge. That has proven to be difficult.

I actually quit buying from Wayfair a while ago. The Trans movement ensures they can't as puberty blockers can result in permanent damage.

It's not about books, never has been.
This is how businesses reward politicians. Hillary got that huge $14 million book advance upon moving out of the WH, which paid for her mansion in DC (welcome to the SU Senate!!).

These books get purchased in bulk as part of party events, speaking engagement (i.e. if Joe comes to your event you have to purchase 100 books as well as pay his fee). Which is another established scam: paying Democrats hundreds of thousands (or millions, for former presidents) for a speech. Just a vehicle for income transfer that appears legal.

We can only hope.

What they are doing now is working. By keeping bellies full and minds entertained while breaking everything down brick by brick - they get enough dupes to urge the rest to "work within the system" to keep the game going, all the while making the populace a little weaker every day. Keep that up long enough, and you'll have a group of serfs without the means to revolt - better yet, you'll have a group of serfs that beg for the king's protection. It's already started here.

But it the Uniparty does go "pedal to the metal" - the populace still has the ability to resist, and such an over-reach would ignite the will.

Either that, or a good currency crash. Either/Or.

216 I posted this on the ONT last night...

Gab's doing something interesting...

@getongab

Let's simplify what Gab is about to do on July 4th.

Gab is becoming an open source social networking protocol that anyone can use to create their own social network that they own and control.

You can join Gab's server, or launch your own. They all connect to one another.

(Bunch more tweets after this one explaining it more)

218 They haven't crushed GAB yet though>

GAB is apparently becoming a decentralized peer-to-peer network. Individual users functioning as nodes for the larger network. Impossible to shut down easily.

And open source.

224 Drag Queen Reading Hour Can Be Stopped
________

That guy sounds like me. But he does miss on two things:

1. There actually IS a Protestant tradition which would carry the Thomistic notion of natural law, in Richard Hooker. (Locke gave him lip service, but didn't follow his reasoning.) Hooker's arguments are interesting in that he parallels Aquinas, repeatedly, but comes to different theological conclusions. But on Law, there is little difference.* I don't buy that anymore, but it was what I once believed, and still largely respect.

2. There is a problem at the state vs local level. For quite some time I've been troubled that, relative to localities, the states have despotic power under our system. This may have been inevitable, historically. But it can be seen in public education, where it was the states which began the destruction of K-12, by going all Dewey, long before the Feds joined in in the 70s. And often they will be a bar to enforcing local community standards; what chance have small towns in CA or NY, against their rulers in Albany and Sacramento?

*If you search online, you can find Lewis's English Literature in the 16th Century, which has a discussion of Hooker. He was clearly CSL's favorite theologian.

Posted by: Eeyore at June 26, 2019 08:36 AM (VaN/j)

And compared to the Citizen, the Locality has despotic power.

The remedy is three-fold. One - draw every political boundary in the chain of command as small as possible. Two - push every political decision as far down the chain of command as possible.

Three - and this is where everyone typically balks - shut up and live with it when the neighboring political entity makes a decision you don't like. That's the price of your individual freedom - tolerating the annoying freedom of your neighbor.

But I think it's an impossible dream. Very few people can resist the urge to compel their neighbor to bend to one's own will when it's as easy as casting a vote.

LOL - there was actually a nice little nugget of info in that article that I had always suspected, but could never quite prove before - the reason CNN is exclusively shown in almost every major airport, and no other news channel can break in.

In order to bump up their viewership numbers (for advertisers, apparently), CNN actually pays the airports to allow them to put their broadcasts there, and pays for the purchase, installation, and maintenance of the TV sets that it is shown on.

So that's why no other station will be shown in the airports - no other channel, not even MSNBC, is financially suicidal enough to resort to *paying* people to watch them. As bad as we think CNN is run, we find out this crap and it's even worse.

I honestly don't get it because it 's so illogical these people should be bred out of the gene pool.

I have neighbors who are liberals that moved out of NY and down south because Democrats have destroyed the state and made it an unaffordable ward of their party. It wasn't a single issue that got us here, it was an entire philosophy.

Yet these, these dunces, blowhards and village idiots take those same attitudes to places like NC, etc. and slowly kill those places and liberty in the process.

It is just rampant stupidity and the inability to properly discern truths and facts from issues. They don't understand the very premise of cause and effect and vote like it's a team sport instead of an existential duty that should be a process of intellectual discovery and verity.

Yup, she deserves it.

It was probably 20 years ago, but a local tv news investigation reported that MA dealt with DUI/OIU license revocations via some hush hush special panel (of well-connected MA government cronies), and that this panel was really lenient. I am wondering if it remained in place, or if t was replaced with something just as corrupt. Here's hoping this accident brings any current MA RMV shenanigans re: OUI license revocations to light, if they exist.

As it all turned out, the Anti-Federalists were proven right. You can't cede an inch of power to a central authority, and stop that authority from assuming more and more power by something as simple as some rules written down on paper.

Rules are not absolute. Power is absolute. If you've got it, never give it away.

That's what makes it so tragic. The (D)s make HUGE strides when they're in office, and significant strides when they don't hold all three branches, and win lawfare battles left and right to continue pushing their agenda, and we are happy when our elected (R) occasionally votes in a way that is similar to his constituents' wishes.

Those are the dates that settled the matter in terms of actual physical force (and I'd go with July 4th, 1863 as being the most important date of all - simultaneous victories in both the east and the west sealed the deal)

but as far as Legality and the Constitution, what changed everything was the adoption of the 13th, 14th, and 15th amendments. It is completely fair to say that those 3 amendments, together, totally rewrote some of the key parts of the existing Constitution, turning the United States into a completely new type of country, something it had not been before.

Citizenship, Federal Supremacy over the States, Incorporation of the Bill of Rights to the States, all of those things stem from those amendments.

McCain's POW story let him skate on his abundant lack of character until DJT decided it had gone on too long. Romney is the personification of the GOP Richie Rich caricature who buys a company and fires a bunch of people before reselling it for a profit. His biggest success imo was making the Olympics profitable but that's almost like a crony capitalist thing. He always acts nervous about his success unlike DJT who revels in it.

Hoover pisses me off in several ways.

1) He had Harding's example of what to do with a financial crisis and he didn't follow it.

2) His treasury secretary told him to do one thing, and he did the other.

3) "Historians" have blamed the treasury secretary's advice on the bad results instead of Hoover's actual actions, which were minor forms of what FDR eventually did.

437 Holman Jenkins, no fan of Trump at all, has written an interesting column at the WSJ. He's frustrated as hell at all the "Trump lies!!" punditry.

He tries to point out the obvious to all the TDS writers and Democrats-With-Byline TV pundits: All Politicians Lie. He points out that John Kennedy, their hero, wrote a book that is entirely one big lie, from start to finish. Politicians lie. Trump is interesting precisely because he lies unexpectedly, and doesn't lie when it is expected.

Trump told his supporters what he was going to do, and then he has done it. Jenkins thinks Iran should take note of that fact.

All this leads up to what to do about Iran, which Jenkins regards as an irritant. The only way it could become a serious problem is if Trump gets suckered into attacking the country and killing people. He applauds Trump's "unexpected" strategy. Keep on doing what you're doing Mr. President, says Jenkins, it's genius!

Posted by: Reality at June 26, 2019 09:14 AM (DwZvw)

Yes, it will. And as I wrote above, the reality of armed conflict is that the side which is most effective at concentrating power under a central authority will always win any force based conflict.

Therefore the anti-Federalists, and all of us who might still agree with them, were always destined to lose. It was a glorious ideal, but one that had no chance to survive in the real world.

Now that's not saying that we personally have to "lose" today - but the only path we have to "winning" is to take over that centralized power and use it to our own purposes. IOW, we can only win by becoming what we dislike.

Far from the first time it's happened, Cromwell faced the same choice.

Always a chance of corruption. But remember, this was corruption at the very highest level of both the DOJ and FBI, director, assistant director and a handful of department heads. It was an amazing collection of dishonest people at the very top enabled by a corrupt president.

He wasn't the first. He won't be the last. And he's a convenient scapegoat. The FBI proved willing, eager, and able to spy on the American Public under Bush. They proved willing to do dirty work for Clinton. They are a collection of men who volunteered to project force, across state lines, on behalf of Washington, DC. Nothing more. Nothing less.

You still dream of granting vast power to "good men", in the hopes they'll do the "right thing". "Good Men" tend to not have such ambitions. And ambition tends to corrupt the few that do.

Seeking such power is a pretty good warning that one should not have it.

499 >>You still dream of granting vast power to "good men", in the hopes they'll do the "right thing". "Good Men" tend to not have such ambitions. And ambition tends to corrupt the few that do.

>>Seeking such power is a pretty good warning that one should not have it.

What I dream of is just one of the critics having a rational suggestion for fixing the problem instead of just saying "we are all doomed and going to die soon" as that was an answer to anything.

Come up with a solution. Being an endless critic without one is simple.

What an original idea!
I am sure this will be a total success.

I assume their metric is not profit, they will be funded by deep state billionaires, but rather to simply muddy the waters and confuse the voters during the election season.

Look, this is simple, but nobody wants to confront it.

It's culture and character, and how they influence each other. When we had a culture that made requirements of character, such as respectfulness, self-discipline, and the like, the systems more or less worked. Once that was swept away, you might as well have poured sand into a V8 engine.

And that includes religion. Adams was right. The systems and ideals the Constitution reflect are based upon the predicate of a certain culture and moral character. Without those, it won't work. You can't have one without the other.

I say it's simple, but that just means the answer is simple to give. It is hardly simple to implement. But the clear fact is that we went from a given culture, to all cultures OK, to the original culture being suppressed. The consequences in government follow logically from that progression.

And there you have the parts you need to solve the problem. The trick is, figuring out how to either restore the previous culture, or rebuild a new one with the necessary characteristics. And that...is far from simple. Or easy. But it's also the only way.

What would be a good first step?

504 Does this happen? Do stomach staples blow out? My ex's new wife just recently had this procedure done, lost 150 lbs. and looks great, but I didn't realize the staples can "undo".

I have a staple remover if you want to borrow it.

LOL! I half jokingly refer to her as my best friend because she basically rescued me and my children from him! Reality is she got a "man" who would cheat on his wife and leave his 4 children, and he got a woman who would date a married man. But thanks for the offer anyway!

I've given it to you - over and over and over again. But you don't like it, so you pretend the words were never written.

Severely reduce the size and scope of the FBI. It's too much power to be wielded by today's men. Given it's history - it's probably too much power to be wielded by men of any era. Whatever Chaos ensues by it's absence will be preferable to the version of Order the FBI strives to impose.

With Freedom comes some amount of Chaos. It's all part of the package. Any society without some degree of Chaos isn't free at all.

You dream of some process where every conflict big or small is decided in some sterile proceeding, where rules are wisely written and meticulously followed. That's a pipe dream - and it sounds a lot like Tyranny. Maybe not for you - but certainly for everyone else caught up in it.

506 That's too bad, in terms of Joni Ernst. I had such hopes. It looks like another "Tea Party" Republican isn't all that was promised....and I will be throwing my support elsewhere if Ernst ever tries to claim a national-level spot.

I agree but this seems as aspirational as wishing that good men ran the agencies. A solution implies a means.

How do we go about doing this?

508 I look at Romney and all I see is a smug sanctimonious jackass these days.

I really and truly despise that man.

Do the very thing that many here are calling for - but a few of the devotees of Federal Law and Order still argue fervently against.

Declassify the entire mess. And in the ensuing scandal, burn the FBI to the ground along with the FISA process. Throw the baby out with the bathwater in this case. They both stink. And it will only happen in a scandal - never in a gentile, controlled, slow-burn court process. Federal Law Enforcement is never going to reduce the size and scope of Federal Law Enforcement. And the Federal Judiciary is most definitely in on the game.

But to do that, Trump has to be willing to break the blind GOP devotion to - Ace's words, not mine - college educated men and women with guns. Frankly - I don't think he or Barr has any intention of it. They'll try to reform it.

Might as well try to train a fucking pit viper.

I guess we can write to Trump and ask him to do this.

511 Don't get me wrong, venting on a website is not a bad thing. You never know who might read it and be in a position of influence, even if we are not. And personal affirmation is not without value. I've proposed lots of ideas for dealing with Iran. But I don't think of them as solutions as I have no way of making them happen.

512 It's good to see the Congressional pay raise bill tabled....for now, but it will soon rear it's ugly head again soon. Congress critters on both sides of the aisle say they cannot live with $174K and need a raise or they will turn to lobbying after leaving Congress. I say bullshit! Tell me, how does the young enlisted GI who is assigned to work at the Pentagon survive??? He or she most certainly does not make $174K a year, even with allowances for housing and food. And in case one doesn't know this, Congress critters rarely spend any of their own money. They have very generous expense accounts.

The descriptor "undocumented immigrant" must be corrected each time it is used.

The proper terminology is 'ILLEGAL ALIEN". Correction needs to be clearly stated.
As many times as required.
