When are these leakers going to be hunted down and punished? Anyone who is leaking information from the White House needs to be discovered and punished severely.... In this case, word leaked out that the Trump administration was going to conduct a 10-city immigration raid on Sunday. The raid was to focus on migrants who have been denied asylum but have not left the country. It appears that leak came from Kevin McAleenan, Trump's Homeland Security Secretary. Come on, man. Trump has picked the worst people to work in the administration and the clowns he hasn't picked were picked by the establishment Republican industry who are not on board with his agenda. What a dumpster fire.For starters, yeah.

Pensions weren't a thing until the 20th century, I think.
However, these people who would resign wouldn't just go to cobble or something. Party apparatuses already existed and helped get them new positions and such. Many times the resignation was a precursor to running for a particular office.
However, there is still the case of Stanton, who really should have just resigned when Johnson told him too.

Trump could just nominate someone the left hates to those positions, they will be blocked, and he can do it again. If he plays his cards right, the position won't be filled until he leaves office. We will have saved a few million in the process and there will be fewer back stabbings. Plus, it will drive the left nuts.

Here's what I would do with, e.g., that scrunt mayor in Oakland who tipped off the wetbacks about an upcoming ICE raid, so they could all leave town/ lie low.
I'd just keep planning raids, letting the information leak, and then calling off the "raid." After a while, the wetbacks will get tired of beating feet all the time and just ignore the next warning of a planned raid. At which point, of course, I'd raid the bejesus out of them.
Imagine the disruption of their lives occasioned by leaving town to avoid ICE (or even to lie low) every two weeks or so. You can't keep a job if you keep doing that, and your whole life would be in constant uproar.

Good heavens, you're looking at a 2 year investigation by the dept IG, another six months to write a vaguely accusatory report, another six months for whoever is responsible for this clown to evaluate the report, by then there will have been two or three more secretaries due to at least one of them having to resign because a Democrat leaked that fifteen years ago the guy had a DUI, and ZERO will happen to Mr. Leaker.

This or something similar gets asked here rather frequently. My answer to that is to consider the number of violent incidents that the WH has been downplaying - 3 motorcade vehicle attacks, the attempt during the 2016 rally, the baseball practice, the congressional retreat train accident, several package poison attempts. Quite possibly the results of the LV investigation. Then add in the threats to prosecute PDT's family.
The administration very well might be working with threats hanging over them. I think the Dems will go hot if they think PDT is really going to follow through with certain things.

1. ICE ERO goes out every day to pick illegals up. Puts them in the Detention Center and waits for either the alien to voluntarily go back, be deported if they already have an order of deportation, or go through proceedings.
2. When they do a massive operation, like was planned here, they must get Officers already doing the job, move them to the area of operations and start the work. They must have transport and most importantly, bed space to hold them.
3. If they have targeted those already ordered deported, (I think that this was the plan here), they can grab them, and move them back without much wait time.
BTW, McAleenan is a career CBP Officer type, who politicked his way to the top and forgot the job he was hired to do. HQ/DC is full of those guys.
As a retired DHS/ICE/HSI guy, I know of what I speak.

Three things to remember about Trump's vetting problems:
1. Anyone who is even considered for nomination has to be willing to stand up to a domestic terrorism campaign by the Democratic Party that will threaten their lives, livelihoods, and family members. See the Antifa posters doxxing Stephen Miller and the treatment of Sarah Sanders and FCC head Pitchai.
2. The same FBI whose members are carrying out a coup attempt by inventing false charges and lying in court are the ones carrying out the background checks on potential Trump staffers. Does anyone think they are doing it honestly? Especially after Muslim Brotherhood operatives like Valerie Jarrett and Huma Abedin skated through.
3. No matter what he's done on judges, Vichy Mitchy hasn't been nearly as good on confirming Trump's non-judicial appointments. He literally kept Trump from firing Sessions, and he doesn't WANT to let anyone through who will close the borders.
