The Saturday Night Joke

Two guys walking back to work from lunch decide to take a shortcut thru a park since it’s such a beautiful day. As they walk along, they come upon a dog who is busy licking its nuts. Both men can’t help but stop and stare at the dog.

The one guy says to the other “ that’s gotta feel pretty good, I wish I could do that”...

His friend says “ you better pet him first, make sure he likes you”. H/T Stan

My oh my. What great parenting skills displayed at this graduation ceremony.

During his preschool graduation, at least that’s what it looks like, the kid literally yells at his teacher to “shut the fuck up” right as she starts the ceremony. Not having it one bit, the boy proceeds to yell, “No, Bitch” when she asks if he needs to leave the room. Yes, “NO, BITCH.” Someone come get your kid because he is about to get a whooping from this lady. Truthfully, I don’t know how she didn’t just come up and smack him in the face.

FDA approval right around the corner for bremelanotide. What is bremelanotide?

For women with low sex drive, the Food and Drug Administration is expected to approve a new EpiPen-like drug that promises to boost libido.

AMAG Pharmaceuticals says that the drug, bremelanotide, helps women with hyposexual desire disorder, or HSDD. The FDA decision could come as soon as Friday.

The drug is somewhat similar to medications used to treat erectile dysfunction in men, in that they are meant to be used "on demand" — when a person wants to be sexually intimate.

What a shitty individual and tonight's Genius Award Winner.

MIAMI — Court officials say a Florida man charged with burglary defecated during his criminal trial and tried to throw his feces at the judge.

The Miami Herald reports 33-year-old Dorleans Philidor was sitting in a wheelchair next to Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Lisa Walsh when officials say he tried to throw his excrement at her. It did not reach her. There were no jurors present during Friday’s incident.

Witnesses say dozens of corrections officers responded and the trial was moved while the courtroom was sanitized.

I read a crime book by an ex-con, he tried to explain it ("it" being how to get bent for life) like this - what would you do if your parents, as a joke, taught you stuff like dogs were cats and cats were dogs, girls were boys and boys were girls, and then you went to school and everybody was saying the opposite of what you knew?

46 Sarkeesian illustrates one aspect of the whole SJW/outrage mob phenomenon we keep forgetting: it's all a grift. They're ginning up controversy so they can get paid to make it go away. It's the same playbook Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton used to use.

Which means we can fight them by showing companies and institutions that:

a) Telling some busybody to go fuck off costs nothing at all, and

b) Putting these people in charge of anything will lead to massively expensive lawsuits.

141 One Saturday afternoon in Washington, D.C. an aide to Nancy Pelosi visited the Catholic Cathedral in D.C.

He told the Cardinal that Nancy Pelosi would be attending the next day's Mass, asked if the Cardinal would kindly point out Pelosi to the congregation and say a few words that would include calling Pelosi a saint.

The Cardinal replied, "No. I don't really like the woman, and there are issues of conflict with the Catholic Church over some of Pelosi's views."

Pelosi's aide then said, "Look, I'll write a check here and now for a donation of $100,000 to you if you'll just tell the congregation you see Pelosi as a saint."

The Cardinal thought about it and said, "Well, the Church can use the money, so I'll work your request into tomorrow's sermon."

As Pelosi's aide promised, Nancy Pelosi appeared for the Sunday worship and seated herself prominently at the forward left side of the center aisle.

Also as promised, at the start of his sermon, the Cardinal pointed out that Ms. Pelosi was present.

The Cardinal went on to explain to the congregation, "While Ms. Pelosi's presence is probably an honor to some, the woman is not numbered among my personal favorite personages.

Some of her most egregious views are contrary to tenets of the Church, and she tends to flip-flop on many other issues.

Nancy Pelosi is a petty, self-absorbed hypocrite, a thumb sucker, and a nit-wit.

Nancy Pelosi is also a serial liar, a cheat, and a thief.

I must say, Nancy Pelosi is the worst example of a Catholic I have ever personally witnessed.

She married for money and is using her wealth to lie to the American people.

She also has a reputation for shirking her Representative obligations both in Washington and in California the woman is simply not to be trusted."

"However," the Cardinal concluded, "when compared with Hillary Clinton, Ms. Pelosi is a saint.

Yeah, well it's kinda part of the original comic so, expected.

I've been just trying to find a benign, milquetoast UK detective show.

Found 'Father Brown', set in the post-war period. Previous seasons have been saccharine and very tame 45 min 'mysteries'.

The latest season has one episode defending abortion clinics and in another a cartoon version of anarchists. Yes, anarchists in the middle of the UK, because f' the squares.

I'm actually rooting for another season of the liquid depression that is Broadchurch.

There's a movie, I forget what it's called, maybe Another Earth, or something.

Anyway, the main character is a smart girl who crashes her car on the last day of school and her promising future is ruined. Just so happens they just discovered "another Earth" hidden behind the Sun for all these years.

So, despite her screwup, she gets chosen to go to the "other" Earth so she can fix things. But things aren't what she expects...

Submarines get assigned all sorts of missions. Some of them require doing things at very precise locations, others require operating in concert with other ships for various reasons. Some of them are, "Here's a big box in the middle of the ocean, proceed there and remain somewhere within it until this time or until otherwise tasked". Once the boat gets there, there isn't much to do besides doodle around the ocean until it's time to go home.

Submarine navigational tracks are some level of secret; they aren't published or advertised or anything. But they have to be archived somewhere, right? So there's a room somewhere - I'm picturing the warehouse at the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark here - full of charts, covered with meticulously crafted dongs, each representing hours of the lives of countless bored quartermasters, ANAVs, and Navigators, spent boring dick-shaped holes in the ocean.

276 Update on the Republicans in the Oregon senate fleeing the state to avoid a quorum, so the D's can't pass a cap-and-trade bill that would devastate the economy of rural Oregon.

The Portland paper is outraged that the missing senators are only being fined $500 a day for being gone, which they can pay out of campaign contributions.

The paper had a weepy story that hundreds of proposed bills are trapped because the Oregon senate isn't meeting, and under Oregon state law, they all die on June 30th, if not passed and signed into law by then.

The paper listed a couple of bipartisan bills, but all the other bills are supported solely or almost solely by Democrats, including a bunch of new taxes.

It would seem that the R's have the leverage here, despite the paper's whining. The paper also failed to note that the most controversial bills, including the cap-and-trade bill, are being passed as "emergency" bills, specifically so the bills can't be referred to a vote of the people.

Several years ago, Mrs H and I were driving in Southern Virginia on a two lane road. There were 5-6 foot tall corn fields on either side, so it was like a hallway. About a mile into the road, there was a firefly display like I have never seen before, nor will probably ever see again. Every cubic foot of the space before us was filled with fireflies. I could probably have turned off he headlights and still driven that road safely. One of the most beautiful sights and memories I have!

339 They don't have the votes to stop it? Is that it?

The D's have a super majority in both houses in Oregon, but are two votes short of a quorum in the state senate. The issue is that the R's want the cap-and-trade bill to be passed as a regular bill, so it can be referred to a vote of the people.

The D's are trying to pass it as an "emergency" bill, which can't be referred to a vote of the people, because they know that the bill will lose if it goes up for a popular vote.

340 I saw fireflies growing up in the Northeast. They weren't around all the time or in large quantities but they were around.

I visited some relatives in the summer up in Ohio a while back. They lived out in the country and I don't recall seeing any fireflies. But I'll take y'all's word for it.

There aren't many down here, amazingly enough, given all the heat and humidity. BTW, when I sat down in front of the laptop to come here, the Weather Underground site (which is my home page) had the temp at 91 with a heat index of 107. At 10 pm. No rain today either.

The objection is that up to a couple of years ago, "emergency" bills were rare in Oregon, and were reserved for real emergencies. All other bills could be referred to a vote of the people, given enough petition signatures.

Now, the Democrats in Oregon are passing every controversial bill as an "emergency" bill, specifically so it can't be referred to a vote of the people.

This is a new, fundamental abuse of the legislative process in Oregon, and the Republicans are justified in taking extraordinary measures to stop it.

The Republicans are happy to vote on cap-and-trade, but only as a regular bill, so that a referendum on the bill would be possible.

The Oregon legislature used to meet once every two years.

The Democrats said that a short session was needed in between the regular sessions, so that administrative and other noncontroversial bills wouldn't have to wait two years to get passed.

The D's got their short session, and of course immediately began passing contested, substantive pieces of legislation during the short session.

When called on this, the D's basically responded: "You fucked up - you trusted us."

As an example, the Oregon legislature passed a bill providing for drivers licenses for illegal immigrants a few years ago. Enough petition signatures were gathered to force a referendum, and drivers licenses for illegal immigrants was voted down by the people of the State of Oregon 2-1.

This year, the Oregon legislature again has a bill providing for drivers licenses for illegal immigrants, but now it is an "emergency" bill, specifically so the voters won't get to vote on this this time.

428 Soothsayer - I discovered Ms Buniashavelli (sp)? about a year ago. -Watched her fabulous performance of Debussy's "Claire de Lune", (on YouTube), which was so moving and beautiful. She wore bright red, and her jet black hair was striking. She looked like she was in a trance. But - Debussy..........

I also enjoy watching her play Rachmaninoff, which is my favorite composer.

I was amazed at the other great pianists that others linked for us to enjoy, even though it's probably not for the playing aspect Such talent - God-given gift!

I started listening to classical music when I was a young girl on the farm many years ago. We only went into town once a week then. When there was nothing to do on a winter Sunday afternoons (and my mom wasn't going to take us into town for just anything!) my sisters and I would listen to my sister's new 'hi fi' record player, that came with all the masters' recordings. What a wonderful introduction to the timeless classics!

Bookinlass- I also remember catching fireflies out in the country (with our nightgowns --eek!) out at night with our girl cousins- such wonderful memories! You describe the scene so well, and makes me feel like I just opened the window to look out at the cornfield and feel the cool breeze -

Oh, Ladyl - so happy you weren't seriously hurt. Things happen so quickly, and you were so understanding to the young lady - I'm sure she learned her lesson!

Remember when Hollywood made movies that had no object other than to entertain you? To make you long for the skies, or to make you long to set your path in the stars? Or at the very least, to make you laugh, to make you cry, to make you wish to be loved?

Yeah, well those days are long gone. Hollywood wants to berate you for what you have failed to appreciate...of the unappreciative.

The nice thing is that we have all the good stuff on DVD, and when they come to beg, we can turn them away with no loss. Just a touch of sadness.

A Russian guy came into a casino in Budapest, where a friend was a manager.

Lost about $100,000 in cash (from a briefcase) at roulette in about 45 minutes.

The manager began his standard " we hope you visit with better luck" spiel. Expecting maybe some...unpleasantness.

The Russian guy says "Hey- I just go home and steal more."

479 Submarine navigational tracks are some level of secret

A reporter wrote a book about going out on the Ohio-Class SSBN USS Nebraska. After the boat finishes doing some training, it goes out on patrol, which basically consists of being in a huge box of ocean, and randomly moving around in the box.

Apparently, after the patrol, the sub's track is sent off to a mathematical consulting firm, to confirm that the sub's track is truly random, so that there are no patterns for the Russians or Chinese to exploit.

Good point. Not explained. Apparently some captains roll dice to determine when to turn, and in which direction.

It did answer a question I had, which is that no one onshore knows exactly where a patrolling SSBN is. Because if anyone onshore knows, that is a point of vulnerability. Only a handful of people on the sub know the sub's exact location.

Ok, you're in your house. That's your box. You move around. You can be in the kitchen, the den, the bedroom, a closet, etc, etc.

You want to choose which room you go to next randomly. And the time you stay there randomly as well.

You're always in the house, but which room is random.

By making it truly random, there's no way to predict which room you'll be in at a given time.

Wherein Clancy proved that all of his "technical revelations" were nothing more than what had been openly published in Proceedings and Air & Space Leakology.

588 Well, I gave up on an engine today. Could not get it to run, leastwise any more than a few pops and clouds of blue smoke. Just not enough left of the piston rings for it to have compression to run. I had the head off it, and damage to the piston tops is evident. But it turns free, and did not hammer in the pan, so its likely a rebuildable core, so there's that. Studebaker Champion six, which there are plenty of, but another core never hurts.

The poor old truck it's in must have sat axle-deep in a slough for a long time; the brake drums were half rusted through, and all four wheels were locked solid. I cut the useless drums off with my air chisel, and now all four wheels turn. Doesn't steer, though, king pins must be rusted up solid. Still, some good parts to be scavenged off it. Put it into a parking place, too.

And I washed about 40 pounds of miscellaneous small parts in the Peon parts washer, an old cement mixer. Threw them in the barrel, added 5 gallons of water, and a handful of washing soda, and let it churn for about 3 hours. It really does a number on greasy, rusty parts. Nuts, bolts, washers, small brackets, pipe fittings, ash trays (!), and courtesy light switches. Fished them out of the mixer by hand, rinsed them in fresh water, and laid out in the sun to dry.

594 SO many lefties, we'd have to build Teh Donald's Wall, just to have the distance to stand 'em all up for their shootings.

I'd call that a win-win, wouldn't you?

you think too small my man.

take them out to the salt flats of your choice here in Left USA, have the engineers dig out a firing position so that the main gun on an M1A2 is perfectly flat at say 3.5-4' off the normal surface level.

then just make the scum line up in single file, touching back to front, and see just how far a war shot sabot round will go.

636 I just watched an interview with the head of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation about flooding on the Lake Ontario shoreline. His response to the first question was a 90 second spiel about climate change.

Then the reporter asks, what about the law they passed five years ago creating a commission that controls the damn that handles all the outflow from the lake, and statements from the commission that they favor higher lake levels for shipping purposes?

His response? B-b-b-ut the Globull Warmening!!!!!

These idjits are religious fanatics no better than Jihadis and maybe even more dangerous.

And Good Morning!
