Dan Rather: America's Refusal to Repeal the 2nd Amendment Proves That the Nation is Unpatriotic and Without Honor

The super-patriotic Forgery Vendor Dan Rather has some thoughts.

Following the [Virginia Beach] shootings Friday, Rather on "CNN Tonight" called the inaction "despicable" and charged "it speaks to our lack of honor and patriotism."

That's Don Lemon's show. Good to see that some people don't mind being associated with a show the New York Times deems "too partisan" for people posing as being real journalists.

Rather said on Friday's "CNN Tonight" show with Don Lemon: "This story is not new. This story happens all too often, and the fact that we haven’t done anything really to come to grips with it is -- despicable is the only word that comes to mind. And it speaks to our lack of honor and patriotism, in this sense: This is a national health epidemic. And can you imagine, Don, what it would be, of instead of guns, we had an outbreak of an Ebola epidemic? We the public, we the people, and our political representatives would be behaving in a completely different manner."

Actually, I remember exactly what the Obama Administration did during the ebola outbreak: It lied about whether the disease was contagious and could be passed by a sneeze (yes and yes -- though the head of the CDC lied to the public and misrepresented a sneeze as "airborne" transmission, instead of direct contact transmission, and then playing the public's misunderstanding of what 'airborne" transmission means to lie that ebola could not be so transmitted) and then refused to take the most basic actions to prevent the outbreak from going live in the US, such as restricting travel from the areas in the grip of the epidemic.

Remember how many of us urged a transportation quarantine, and Obama kept insisting we didn't have to do anything like that?

So it seems that when liberal pieties are in danger of being subject to restriction, the left starts lying and claiming no additional safeguards are needed.

I'm pretty sure he wouldn't have made any stoopid beginner's mistakes with that kind of money involved, i.e., picking her atty for her, or something like that.

The verdict has gotta scare a lot of zimilar zhitholes, I bet.

You know what's the REAL patriotism?

Getting banned from the WH press pool for lying about a President's itinerary to the CBS home bureau, because you want to make him appear to be a prevaricator and undermine your own country's war effort in SE Asia.

Then, being fired and disgraced for doing it again with forged documents to undermine another President and another war effort.

That's the REAL sacrifice. The lives of the thousands of young men I've betrayed can't measure up to my sacrifices in the war for journalism.

They had these in the bay area when i lived there! They even had signs and schedules posted.

Then they expanded the idea and even did it with light rail - they had tracks and stations. Never really saw a train, ...

571 So, I went and looked at MI, WI and PA for 2012-vs-2016 based on Ranmando's post and while he's right that Trump won by fewer votes than Stein received, it is a bit more complicated than that of course because it doesn't take into account performance of the three candidates in the context of turnout.

WI vs 2012
2016 turnout: -3.1%
2016 Green: +405.4%
2016 Republican: -0.2%
2016 Democrat: -14.7%
--> If surplus Green voters had been Dem voters under normal circumstances, Trump would have lost. The straight Republican-Republican comparison shows Trump modestly overperforming as compared to Romney.

PA vs 2012
2016 turnout: +7.2%
2016 Green: +234.0%
2016 Republican: +10.8%
2016 Democrat: -2.1%
--> If surplus Green voters had been Dem voters under normal circumstances, Trump would have lost. The straight Republican-Republican comparison shows Trump wildly overperforming as compared to Romney.

MI vs 2012
2016 turnout: +1.4%
2016 Green: +235.0%
2016 Republican: +7.78%
2016 Democrat: -11.5%
--> If surplus Green voters had been Dem voters under normal circumstances, Trump would have lost. The straight Republican-Republican comparison shows Trump wildly overperforming as compared to Romney.

No one ever said these states would be a walkover in 2020, and they won't be. But it is also foolish to put Hillary's loss at the feet of the green party. Had Trump lost all three of these states, he would have lost the election - but he did not need to carry all three of them to win (any one would have put him over the top, all other things being equal). In a straight two-party vote, Trump would probably have won at least one of these contests - probably one his narrowest victories (Michigan) - anyway on a turnout advantage (most protest voters are probably not going to pull the lever for Clinton in the absence of other options).

But Jill Stein wasn't the problem in 2016. Hillary Clinton was the problem in 2016. The difference in Stein's totals was the Democrat protest vote because Clinton was an awful candidate and would have been a terrible president.

Trump probably needs one - not all - of these states to get to 270 in 2020. I suspect he's gonna get at least one of them. Time will tell. But don't blame the Green Party dunderhead for Hillary's loss. Put that blame where it belongs. Put that blame on Hillary Clinton.

Eleven years ago I had a heart issue that caused me to pass out in the middle of the night, right after peeing.

I broke the orbit of my right eye in two places, my right cheekbone, and was cut all the way to the bone under my eye.

At the ER they sent a plastic surgeon to repair the awful cut, and sent me home with antibiotics and at my urging, some pain meds.

Husband brought me home, gave me a pain pill, and put me to bed. In my dried, bloody nightgown and bloody hair.

A couple years back, I had bronchitis bad, woke up coughing, felt like I couldn't breathe, knew I had to get to the bathroom to get a drink of water, half way there just blacked out - wife said she though she felt the house shake when I hit the floor. Really jacked my back up for a while.

But I felt lucky, because at about the same time, a friend of mine with the same thing passed out in his bathroom, fell forward, and he hit the faucet with his face and actually punctured his Eyeball, so that all the goop ran out.

Now that is about the most horrific home injury I've heard of.

738 2 retarded dipshit hipsters decide they need to go deer hunting. While stalking out in the woods, hipster 1 hears a rustle and shoots. He runs over to find he shot his buddy. After a long and arduous struggle, hipster 1 gets his buddy to the ER and the trauma team gets to work. After 5 minutes, the doctor comes out to talk. "Is he gonna be o.k., doc?", asks the stupid fucking idiot hipster.
"Well", replies the doctor, " I think he would have made it if you hadn't gutted him first."

Hahahahahahahahahahaha

Two hunters are out in the woods when one of them collapses. He doesn't seem to be breathing and his eyes are glazed. The other guy whips out his phone and calls the emergency services. He gasps, "My friend is dead! What can I do?" The operator says, "Calm down. I can help. First, let's make sure he's dead." There is a silence; then a gun shot is heard. Back on the phone, the guy says, "OK, now what?"

Continuing that thought, anybody with sense who is even half-aware of The Globalist Left's use of our MFMSM in spinning The Marxist Narrative KNOWS that Dan Rather is no reporter. At best he's a useful idiot. And if the Evil Side wins, he'll be among the first to stand bewildered in front of a freshly-dug pit, wondering why his Masters have their rifles aimed at him.

751 Interesting that a man who owned and carried guns his whole life would want a repeal.

I had an interaction with Rather at a checkpoint at the UN during the general assembly back before 9-11. Rather's limo was searched by military explosives dogs and hit on one of his bags in the trunk. The Navy Chief in charge of the EOD contingent was troubled so he called me over. Protocol was if the dogs hit on something, the vehicle did not come through. But it was Dan Rather, who could potentially make trouble for him.

I was detailed to Secret Service, and had control of that checkpoint. So I got to tell Dan he couldn't come through. He said he carried a pistol in his bag when he was outside of NY, and that probably was what the dog hit on.

To his credit, he did not make a stink about it, and walked down to the UN Plaza Hotel to gather up whoever he was meeting.

760 Unsettling news, African immigrants stopped at the southern border are from the Congo.Fleeing Ebola?Bringing Ebola? The left wants a lot of Americans to die a bloody death it seems.

Posted by: obsidian at June 08, 2019 10:57 AM (7+yqP)

761 I've just go to say this because it seems the MO of the CDC. In 1884 or so, the CDC said that you couldn't get HIV virus (then it was HTLV-III) except through being a Haitian, an IV drug user or prolonged, multiple acts of homosexual sex. a could not get it through a blood transfusion. Then of course we found out it wasn't so, when Arthur Ashe died from HIV administered within a blood transfusion.
Then they said you couldn't catch anthrax (presumably weaponized anthrax) except through inhaling millions and millions of the spores. Believe it or not, five or ten years later, it casually said that well, yes, technically you can catch it from a single organism.

Taking this with the Ebola can't be transmitted without contact to fluids, was just another -- what can you call the repeated acts of a government bureaucracy that repeatedly lies about the safety of something deadly to put forth an unjustified casualness about a potential epidemic?
Such chronic incompetence must be reconsidered as malice.

Now they apparently say guns are a mental health threat or somesuch. And the government apparently is mandating questions regarding gun ownership and mental health screening in routine doctors' visits, which of course are electronically swept up by third-party payers including government oversight and statistical agencies (not to mention making the information available to hackers).

For years I've been believing the exact opposite of whatever the CDC said, just from past experience. I'd say, close it down or massively reorganize it.
