Hmm, it's been a while, I'm trying to remember what it is that you perverts like in an ONT... Parenting You will be made illegal. Parenting Magazine Warns ‘Blond, Cheerful’ Families Dangerous, Likely Right Wing. Yes, this is Germany, but read through and see what traits they highlight as possibly being signs of people who are problematic. For example:Heike Radvan of the controversial Amadeu Antonio Foundation warns that “children of right-wing parents are not necessarily different from other children”, but says they are often “very obedient” and might not talk much. Despite asserting that such children are not outspoken, the “experts” wheeled out by the magazine warn that a sinister aspect of right-wing parenting is that they instil self-confidence in their progeny. So if you raise obedient, self-confident children, the state will definitely need to keep an eye on you. Of course, if your kids are cross-dressing criminals, then everything must be fine. Or this guy: Man Is Suing Parents for $86,000 After They Binned His Porn Collection. I've seen a lot of what seem to be Chinese Military sites that play up how gung ho and rah rah the Chinese Military is right now and that the US should just shut up and stay home with their measly 11 aircraft carriers and 300 warships and stuff.
You can tell that it's at the least written by someone who's never been in the military or at least the US military and doesn't understand that although we are very open about our military power we don't highlight everything nor speak a lot of the logistics ability of the USNavy. Out of all the Navies of the world that fielded Carriers, the US is the only nation to also have a well trained and able logistics supply system that delivers tons of material WHILE AT SEA AND UNDERWAY. Something that no other nation has accomplished on a regular basis. Not even Russia or England or Japan. And we've been doing it for over 60 years. Day in, Day out. An Underway Replenishment is not for the faint of heart. Thousand ton warships steaming through restive waters both in the deep ocean and within restrictive waters. Transferring tons of fuel, food, replacement parts, ammunition and personnel all while in motion only a few yards apart. (varies depending on sea conditions but usually about a 100 yards) They also use helicopters for transfer of specialized gear and personnel. (since the 60's) No. Other. Nation. Has. Mastered. This. Then there's the actual war fighting capability of a Carrier Strike Force and the area it can cover and interdict any threat posed. China right now as 1 converted Russian cruiser that is a piece of crap and another built from the keel on the same design that still has yet to complete their sea trials and has had lots of problems. And they are ONLY for those jets that can perform VTO which limits their top speed and capacity. The majority of their ships (about 60 I believe) are the size of the ships we call Frigates with a few just a bit larger. None of which can coordinate as well as the USN and in fact in a recent Ship Display only sent out 20 of their ships to sail with other participating Navies of the area. China could turn out to be a threat at sea but not for a while. If someone is going to write an article on American performance in Iraq, fine. If I use the Find function for Iran, Obama, and Democrat but come up empty, I will discount literally everything else they say.
Of course America would have real trouble in a war with China: we host millions of Chinese. How many Americans do they host? Did they give you ice cream after ?
Posted by: JT at April 25, 2019 10:34 PM (4OUPU) I was 7 when I first discovered that big lie. I was having my tonsils removed, and I remember the book (geared for kids) which they gave me to prepare me for the operation. The big thing was after the surgery, you'll get all the ice cream you want. What kid wouldn't be happy? After the surgery, when I tried to eat 'all the ice cream you want', it was way too painful to eat. Ended up putting the ice cream in the sink in my hospital room, running warm water so it melted, then showing the nurse I finished it. I got a good boy for that. Learned all about lying liars and the lies they tell at the ripe old age of 7, with that lesson learned staying with me right through to the age I am now, curmudgeonly curmudgeon. Had both eyes rebuilt 2 years ago, lenses plus some laser work. I'm one of the lucky ones that doesn't need vision assist post surgery. Not a traumatic event at all, after the initial opening of the operated eye--there was sharp, jangled images at first, until the next day when the eye somewhat recovered from the insult. Something I noticed after both were done was the extreme clarity, and the amount of visual detail at distance took some getting used to--sensory overload the Doc called it. My vision is roughly the same as it's been for the last 25 years or so, between -2.25 and -2.75 in each eye. Sometimes it even gets a little better in one or the other since the last exam. What I've noticed lately is that my night vision has gone south, fast. Especially driving at night or just after sundown, the transition between a bright light and a dark region is much more difficult than I remember it being.

I got really upset reading the story of the Joe Ulleri getting starved to death by cruel, heartless bastards.
Then you brought me back with Nik Hoot. Thanks for that. Bringing the two stories together, I recently caught up with an ex-GF online. She used to be a left-leaning person. She married a Canadian dude and moved there with him. She shared the story of how when she was pregnant with her last son, the Canadian health system did an amnio on her and told her that her son was going to be Down's. They tried to get her to abort. Every visit. For 6 months. Time after time. Abort. You need to abort. She had her son, perfectly healthy. She told her husband she was moving back to Tennessee with the kids, he was free to come if he liked, but she wasn't staying in Canada anymore. Her son is cute as a button, I saw a picture of both of them in Trump hats. Now she's more right-wing than I am. Happy ending all around. While not wholly discounting the article about how unprepared the US military is for a conventional war, I will take its findings with a grain of salt. Back in the late 70's/early 80's when I was just a wee lad, I recall a special report on one of the Big 3 networks about how awful our F-14s, F-15s, F-111s, M1 Abrams and other weapons were compared to the light and nimble Soviet fighters and mighty swarms of Russian tanks.
A repeat of this theme occurred in my college years when these same networks plus CNN decried our shortage of zip-up rubber body bags for the massive casualties we would take from the Iraqi army, the well honed Soviet style force with a decade of modern warfare under their belts against Iran. Our inferior M1 Abrams tanks and Apache helicopters could not handle desert warfare. I have a hunch that DOD puts out these stories to a more than willing press to either generate more budget increases, or keep our enemies guessing (or more likely, both). There is a legal doctrine of "absolute immunity", which states that a judge can't be prosecuted for anything relating to the judge's official duties. As Glenn Reynolds notes, "absolute immunity" isn't in statute - it is a legal doctrine invented by judges, for the benefit of judges. If we could blow up "absolute immunity" as part of prosecuting this case, that would be gravy. Posted by: The ARC of History! at April 25, 2019 11:35 PM (I2/tG) 408

Regular beatings, not corporal punishment, can result in many different character traits.
Some people pass it on, beating their own kids. Some people seek people to beat them up, verbally or physically, in their relationships. Blues win!
I don't like the Dallas Stars, and it's not their fault. There's a guy at the home office of my company that is a huge Stars fan. I sent him an email before the first Stars/Flames game this year, betting a Texas t-bone against a couple of Baltimore crab cakes. He said "sure", and the Stars won. So I sent him 2 of the best crab cakes in town (from Pappas. Cost me $80. I recommend them if you want crab cakes, they'll ship across the USA). I sent him an email "Haha, you got us this time, your crab cakes are on the way" and talked just a little about the game. No response. A week later I sent another email "Hey, did you get the crab cakes?". No response. Finally, about a month later I had to call him about work related stuff, and I asked the same question. "Oh, yeah, didn't I tell you?". Not even thanks. That's not how you do things. In my world you make friendly bets on sports so you can rib a little back and forth about your team and a game you both enjoy. At the very least you acknowledge the bet. So, not the Stars fault, but it left a sour taste in my mouth and I'm rooting for the Blues. Posted by: Weirddave at April 26, 2019 12:17 AM (CTvSA) 518
Not trying to one-up anyone on child abuse stories but let me tell you about something my Mom did which would get her arrested today, although I fully understand why she did what she did.
As a pre-schooler, I had a fascination with fire. We had those wooden Diamond 'strike anywhere' matches for lighting the oven. I used to build little campfires on the concrete garage floor. When my Mom caught me doing that, she was seriously afraid I'd burn the house down and/or kill myself. So this onetime, she'd had enough of warning me as I didn't listen. She took me to the gas stove, turned the burner on and stuck my hand in the flame for just a brief second. I stopped playing with matches after that. In my case, as an obstreperous, misbehaving, obstinate child, desperate times call for desperate measures. While I always remember what she did (who wouldn't?), I never held it against her or felt like I was abused. She didn't do what she did out of anger, but serious concern for my life as well as the house. Today, though, I'd be in foster care or with relatives and Mom in jail. 528 I'm rooting for the Blues to win the SC. I only have one tenuous connection to the Blues. They started in the NHL as an expansion team with Pittsburgh in 1967. Of those 6 expansion teams, only the now long departed Oakland Seals and St. Louis have not won a Stanley Cup. Minnesota moved to Dallas and "won" a Cup there.

Put the judge and bailiff in the stocks.
The indictment is a clever move by the Trump Administration - the fact pattern in this case is just awful for the judge (ordering the ICE agent out of the courtroom, turning off the audio recording of the court records, etc.). Who was the prosecutor in the Awan case? Channing Phillips. Google him. Toss in Eric Holder just for grins. It's not about black hats and white hats. Life is more complex than that and everyone knows it. Electing Trump didn't mean the Deep State surrendered, it meant they fought back harder. Interesting that Rosie was in Armenia in '94. We might have almost crossed paths. I assume his visit was part of the rule of law program. Sounds like nobody told him to fill the bathtub and sink with water during the 2 hours there was power and water - SOP.
And he chose the formal and mouth-filling Armenian expressions for his speech - he must know that in Armenia "merci" is much preferred for "thank you". But his remarks about of Russia's vandalism efforts and their importance, and how Americans are safer and better informed today, are silly. The Russian stuff was of no importance, had no impact, and of course was and is dwarfed dramatically by the home-grown war against election integrity (has he heard of Wayne County, MI? Or the ludicrous Dem and judicial efforts to prevent integrity of voter rolls?). And as I say several times a day, I want to see a detailed review of the legitimacy of the SC appointment under current DOJ regs and related statute. And so do some of Rosie's colleagues. The animated GIF at the end is from an anime called Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid.
In the scene, one of Miss Kobayashi's dragon friends (note the horns, it's because she's a dragon in human form) wore a too-revealing swimsuit to the beach, and some kind of beach monitor told her she couldn't wear that suit. Presumably that's a thing in Japan, beach monitors who will scold you if you are showing too much skin? Maybe it's just the lifeguards? Aha, YouTube has a clip. The show isn't Shakespeare but it's pretty amusing. There was a running gag I really enjoyed where Tohru kept trying to cook part of her tail and serve it to Miss Kobayashi as a meal. Posted by: lizabth It's all my fault. I put the snowblower and shovels in the shed yesterday. Got out the mower and put a charge to the battery. My bad Posted by: Bruce at April 26, 2019 06:39 AM (8ikIW) 798

Interesting that when some Prog candidate through out an idea you wonder what are they thinking. So Liawatha is going for the black vote. About 1/5 attendees of historically black colleges has paid down the principal on their school loans. 2/3 owe more now than when they left school.

Beleaguered Justice Department No. 2 Rod Rosenstein raised eyebrows Thursday night with a private speech in which he took a swipe at the Obama administration and slammed ex-FBI boss James Comey.
Rosenstein, the U.S. deputy attorney general who supervised the Mueller investigation, spoke out publically for the first time since the report was released, criticizing the Obama administrations real-time reaction to Russian hacking and its decision not publicize the full story to the American people.
