Babylon Bee Goofs on CNN Cutlists

Faith tested is faith strengthened.

ATLANTA, GA--Anchors at CNN headquarters have made a bold statement of unwavering faith after the Mueller Report revealed no actual evidence that Trump colluded with Russia. "We believe in collusion with all our hearts and will never let the world's teachings get in the way of that," said Jim Acosta while mumbling mantras quietly in a room misty with burning incense.

"If God allowed this report to be written in the manner that it was, He did so to test our unshakable faith in what we know to be true," said Anderson Cooper.

"We believe in the one true Russian collusion, the one that was spoken into truth and made real far before any evidence was brought before this dark world," added Natalie Allen.

They then recited the Collusion Catechism, but you'll have to click over for that.

Oh -- and who will CNN be criminally blackmailing (threat to dox + demand that one give up a right one has, such as free speech) the maker of this gif?

They've blackmailed a guy before; are they going to commit blackmail again?

Caution, CNN: You'd better read the blackmail and extortion laws of the state your next victim lives in closely. Threatening to release information that someone wants to keep private, but promising to not release that if they do something they are not legally required to do, or not do something they are legally entitled to do (such as post memes on the internet), does in fact satisfy the elements of blackmail and/or extortion in many states.

Pro-tip: It's generally good to avoid sentences that include the elements 1) I will reveal this thing about you that you do not want revealed and 2) unless you do this thing for me, or stop doing this thing I don't want you to do.

Sometimes prosecutors take a look at sentences like that and find the grammar to be criminal.

Now that Trump is unchained, who knows what investigations his DOJ might undertake?

And speaking of journalists engaging in dubious behavior when they feel that someone isn't properly Respectin' Their Authoritah:

A Columbia Journalism Review writer (she claims, at least) vindictively using reportorial skills and tools for vengeance against a guy who didn't want to date her?!

I guess this is that "toxic masculinity" feminists keep talking about. Maybe some toxic femininity here?

Stay classy, "Journalists."

And more from the Babylon Bee:

They're not wholly on Trump's side, though:

Well yeah he did do that.

100 Here are two examples of obstruction convictions without a related real crime.

Mueller's pit bull Weisman went after Arthur Andersen, the big accounting firm, over the crimes by Enron management. Her couldn't get AA for a regular crime, so he charged them with destroying documents BEFORE A SUBPOENA issued, and before they got a preserve letter from prosecutors. Because AA had its licenses suspended, it went broke. Even though it was not convicted of anything criminal. SCOTUS later reversed, but cold comfort for bankrupt AA.

Martha Stewart was convicted for deleting but then undeleting an e-mail on her computer, and doing a humana humana when the FBI came knocking on her door. But there was no insider trading by Martha to convict her of. Comey was the SDNY prosecutor.

Now compare and contrast how Hillary got handled. She destroyed documents and hard drives. FFS, the FBI helped her do it.

So I tuned into Joe Walsh's show (not the Eagles guy the former congressman) and sure enough he's now gone full Ralph Peters. He said that Bob Barr lied during the press conference. Barr doesn't have the authority to say a crime wasn't committed that's up to Congress. Trump without a doubt obstructed justice and did "a lot of bad things". And as only a true true true conservative could say, Trump is worse than Obama because all Trump does is lie. Every word out of his mouth is a lie. In Drudge red font, on Trump hearing about the Mueller appointment -- "I'm fucked."

Yes, he reacted and said that, it's in the Mueller report.

But it's not all he said. Go to Breitbart to read his full statement, as recording in Jody Hunt's notes when Sessions informed Trump. He next said that from everything he's heard, the president is stymied for years after a SC appointment and can't get anything done (paraphrased).

So the "I'm fucked" part will be quoted; the rest, not so much.

They are on his side. You don't understand Christianity. We don't condemn the sinner we condemn the sin. Whether it's stealing a cooking or killing in cold blood it's the same in God's eyes. Hence we can find the whole thing hilarious.

Straight up, un-restrained, pure "You're FIRED", vintage Trump.

Give 20 min of that time to Glenn Beck (yes, *that* Glenn Beck), for a concise "blackboard" layout of the Trail of Treason, then back to Trump.

Who will then reference Beck's diagrams, as he details the crimes of perfidies of the persons involved in the failed coup.

The "close"?

At the end of the presentation, Trump announces that during the preceding 80 minutes, that Federal Marshalls have arrested each and every player from "the chalkboard", on Federal Indictments that were unsealed and served while he spoke.

Example: Where my folks were - Anna Maria Island, Florida. Just the city clearing a swale (drainage ditch) would result in lawsuits...because...old, bored, hard-charging, yet retired, people. You never know what will set them off and set them against you and I recommend experimenting elsewhere.

Most Germans and Austrians were successfully turned into Nazis. But both countries had sizable contingents of anti-Nazi sentiment, and while far too few of them took action, they nevertheless existed.

Blade Runner is film noir and rather simple film noir at that but has stunning sound and visuals. Great movie.

Gone With the Wind is epic in both its scale and theme. Just watching the performances of Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh is enough.

Citizen Kane is harder for young people to relate to because they don't get the references. It was a breakthrough but you need a semester of film history to understand why.

2001 is slow.

IIRC, a German submarine was at Narvik when Warspite made her charge into the fjord and sank all of the German destroyers. Also there was a German sub in the fjord, and Warspite's seaplane hit the sub with a bomb, sinking the sub. One submarine officer was in the water and was pulled out and into a boat launched from shore, and later remarked that he never expected to be rescued at sea by mountain troops.

In fact I found Meryl Streep's creepy plea that everyone must "safeguard the truth" (after calling out various low-level people in the audience by name and listing oddly specific details about their lives) incredibly strange and offputting. Safeguard the truth? I know what we were supposed to THINK she meant. But I also know what that sounds like. As in keep it from getting out?

Citizen Kane is harder for young people to relate to because they don't get the references. It was a breakthrough but you need a semester of film history to understand why.

Citizen Kane is interesting because of what it does with narrative and a lot of visual techniques. It's not the story itself that is going to work well with the average viewer.

It's a searing look at what the Civil War did to the South. Anyone who thinks it's pro-Confederate is an idiot and Scarlett (and Rhett) spell that out from the get-go.

Grandma came from a farm village in middle of nowhere. Big thing for me, in high school, was seeing the german uniforms on the black-bordered photos in the farmhouses, from the ones who died as cannon fodder on the Russian front--old men and little boys off the farm.

One of grandma's brothers was a prisoner in Siberia twice--wwI, and II. he didn't make it back the second time, after Stalingrad and prison.

A cousin of my mother's, a teen when he was sent and then captured, looked a million years old from the experience till the day he died.

Blew my mind at 16, when we took her back to visit the village, to realize if they had been deployed west, they might have met dad in combat.

484 Comrade Eromero,
Our records indicate no permit was issued for removing trees on your property.

Also, we have no record of receiving an Environmental Impact Statement for the event under review.
Comply. Or else.

But we need to cut down trees to get the wood pulp to make paper that we can use to make paper straws to replace the plastic straws that are killing the sea turtles!

489 What I understand about GWTW is this: Disney has gone full SJW, and Disney still puts out all of the princess stuff. The money I acknowledge, but I also acknowledge that pulling the princess stuff would like being plopped down into Resident Evil with a butter knife and enraged eleven-year-old zombies. And their zombie mothers.

494 I remember when GWTW was rereleased in 1966 or 67. My parents took us to the movie theatre one night to see it. I felt so sophistimacated at age 6 or 7 to go to the movies at night, no kiddie matinee here. Long time to sit at that age but then it was pretty entertaining. Of course this was well before you could see any movie you wanted at any time. I miss that, how it was An Event.

503 Teh Donald needs to claim 90 minutes of uninterrupted Prime Time, in which to set the record straight.

Straight up, un-restrained, pure "You're FIRED", vintage Trump.

Give 20 min of that time to Glenn Beck (yes, *that* Glenn Beck), for
a concise "blackboard" layout of the Trail of Treason, then back to
Trump.

Who will then reference Beck's diagrams, as he details the crimes of perfidies of the persons involved in the failed coup.

The "close"?

At the end of the presentation, Trump announces that during the
preceding 80 minutes, that Federal Marshalls have arrested each and
every player from "the chalkboard", on Federal Indictments that were
unsealed and served while he spoke.

I'll give up every Christmas and Birthday package for the rest of my days, if only this would come to pass.

My best friend in college was the nephew of Logan and Anne Ramsey (most noted for "Walking Tall"/Claudius Marcus
in Star Trek TOS' "Bread and Circuses" and "Throw Momma From the Train"), who worked with Clint Eastwood in "Any Which Way You Can" -- and we went to their bungalow in Los Angeles a few times to swim in their pool and spend the night. Extremely nice, regular folk.

They had a nice hot-tub which was a gift from Clint, and they said he was the nicest, shyest, quietest, most modest guy you'd ever want to meet.

507 I always liked Gone With The Wind until finally read the book. Long read but worth it. So much better character development and great depiction at what life was liken the south during and especially after the war that the movie, even at 4 hours, just barely touches. Ashley is an insufferable idiot in both the movie and book.
