Lori Loughlin Reportedly In Panic as She Realizes That Sometimes Wealthy Women Do Go to Jail

Not often, but you know: Ask Martha Stewart.

She had been offered the same plea deal that Felicity Huffman took, which required the admission of guilt in one count of mail fraud and one count of honest services fraud (if I remember right).

She rejected it.

She may be regretting that.

A report claims that the disgraced actress was "in complete denial" about the fallout of the college admissions scandal, but now fears going behind bars.

"She has been in complete denial and thought maybe she could skate by," a source told E! News. "She refused to accept any jail time and thought the DA was bluffing. She was adamant she wouldn't do any jail time."

"Lori is finally realizing just how serious this is," the source continued. "She is seeing the light that she will do jail time and is freaking out.

...

On Tuesday, Loughlin and Giannulli were indicted on charges of fraud and money laundering; if convicted, the couple faces up to 40 years in prison.

Tucker called the alleged meritocracy "a lie" a couple of nights ago, in discussing this scandal.

2 She didn't realize she's being used to help burnish the FBI's stained reputation. If everyone involved got off lightly people would just roll their eyes and mutter.

She has to go down hard, otherwise no one cares.

I had written earlier of a lawyer I knew in town, a pretty respected one, who had worked out a plea deal for a guy who had been charged in some statutory rape case - he was 22, she was 15, but they were supposedly "in love" and it was all consensual, and her father was pushing the charges, so it was in a gray area - and he worked out a deal where the guy could get 2 years probation, just for pleading guilty.

and the guy blew up and cussed out his lawyer and said it was a horrible stupid deal and he would never plead guilty and his lawyer was a dumbshit who was stealing his money. So the lawyer stayed calm and just said "ok" - and then did the absolute bare minimum possible while his buddy, the DA, tagged the guy with 15 years in the State Pen. He's still there today.

don't piss off your lawyer but then keep him on the job.

Cain served as chairman of the board of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City Omaha Branch from January 1, 1989, to December 31, 1991. He became a member of the board of directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City in 1992. 117 It's a bitch when the law for the rich doesn't work somehow and they have to go to jail.

I think they press charges in some case just so they can say; "see rich people go to jail too!"

They neglect to point out all the ones who don't.

Usually they also have some political power or some special edge (like they can rat out some really powerful people).

And the rich ones who get caught up in some scam get sent to jail because they're just to blatant about it. Or in this case probably wised off to the prosecutor like telling him 'oh yeah go ahead a try I'll sue you and win in court and be found not guilty at trial' or something else aggravating.

So the Prosecutor says 'okay bitch. here ya go.'

Sorry, gotta disagree.

A fine doesn't budge the needle. The universities will just raise tuition, or have a pledge campaign to make up for any fine. They won't give a rat's ass.

Neither will the Hollywood types. They were willing to throw around half a million bucks to get their dull-witted kids into the college of their choice.

So no fine really serves as a punishment, for all involved, it's more of a cost of doing business.

Doing time - now THERE'S a punishment for them. A jam they can't buy their way out of.

I'm not satisfied the people being fined would be deterred or humiliated with such penance. They're rich. What's a few bucks relative to their net worth? Just a cost of doing business, so not really a penalty.

But prison, real prison, is a discomfort and stain you will remember and you'll suffer just like the average nobody who lacks the buying power of getting out of jail relatively freely. It's a great justice equalizer to impose a penalty that forces unpleasantry and reflection. Those kinds of inducements generally force behavior changes.

210 166 Lawyers not aquitting themselves very well this past year ...

Okay I know a nice lawyer story. This lawyer was driving along and he saw this terrible looking man on the side of the road, so he stopped and said "What's wrong?" and the man said "oh I have no money, I have nothing to eat, I've just been eating grass." and the lawyer said "Well jump in my car, I'll take you to my house and give you something to eat!" and the man said "that's awfully kind, but you know my wife's just over there and she doesn't have anything to eat either" and the lawyer said "Well bring her along, too!" and then the man said "well I hate to say this, but she's got our 3 kids with her" and the lawyer said "Bring them all! The more the merrier!!!"

and so they all piled into the car, and they drove to the lawyers home and they got out, and the lawyer smiled and pointed them to his yard and said "You are gonna love it, the grass is real nice and tall here! Hasn't been cut in weeks!!!"

Trump should just start calling Mitt Romney a racist for voting against Mr. Cain. Call Mitt a racist day in and day out..... just like the media did in the 2012 Presidential race... and the media do to every Republican on a daily basis that doesn't denounce Trump and his policies....

Romney is absolutely worthless and should be hounded out of office. He is there only to harass Trump and his America First agenda...and do the bidding of globalists.

Trump could gain votes in the Black community by doing this also.... win/win.

So sick of these John McCain type Republican politicians that get their only media attention by attacking other Republicans. If they are too stupid to realize that the media is not your friend....throw them to the wolves. Racist!! Racist!! Mitt is RACIST!!

Having worked in a large company, and in a startup, I've repeatedly had to point out something that should be obvious, namely, that there is no organization - there is only people, and there are as many viewpoints as there are people.

I used to have subordinates tell me that "Big Company X thinks Y," or the like. Rubbish. Some guy representing Big Company X thinks that, but he may be the only one, and he may be gone next week.

The converse also happens. If we turned down a strategic alliance with, or acquisition of, a smaller company, their guys would typically go opinion shopping throughout our company to find a champion. Which is why I always designated ONE person to be the contact with them, and did not let anyone else from talking with them.

So there is no "FBI." There are people in the FBI, some of whom are obviously corrupt and partisan, but almost certainly there are others who are not. It's a mistake to think that any organization is monolithic.

257 yeah - it's even more shitty of him to have let the story get around like he did. It's kind of a "you better be nice to me!" story.

More like you better listen to sound advice.

It's one of those crimes where there are no good defenses.

The elements of the crime are 1) had sex; 2) when she was below the age of consent.

"I didn't know she was 15" is usually not allowed as a defense.

So what? Most Americans - including me - are mutts. That wasn't the point.

Obama had just about the thinnest resume conceivable, and he declared his candidacy for President about ten minutes after showing up in the Senate. Why was he taken seriously? He was a "historic" candidate. That's why.

259 I was really busy at work today. Our color copier was down all day yesterday and I was scrambling to catch up.

I forgot all about the Beresheet lunar lander. I saw the link in the sidebar and clicked it just in time to hear the announcement that the landing had failed. Oh, well. It did pretty good considering it was a small spacecraft on a shoestring budget compared to previous lunar landers.

Look at the Ranger probes back in the early 1960s. They were designed to photograph the moon before crashing into it. The technology for soft landings hadn't been fully developed at that time.

But the first six missions failed for a variety of reasons. The second stage failed to relight, the spacecraft went off course and missed the moon entirely, communications with the spacecraft were lost in midflight, and in one case it flew perfectly but the cameras failed to turn on.

It wasn't until Ranger 7 that we had a success. America couldn't even properly crash a probe into the moon back then.

260 Lori Loughlin is probably suffering from "pretty girl" disease where live has been so easy, comfortable, and filled with presents she couldn't imagine losing. Just bat those long eyelashes and look cute and you can get away with anything!

Yep. I also heard, from a friend who knows them somewhat, rumors that they couldn't go the direct donation route because either Caruso or the removed USC president hates the husband .

Oh ... well, that changes everything. If the Laughlins ain't the "right kind of people", best we put the stops to that shit right now.

265 She serves no useful purpose to the Left. Therefore, she will be going to prison.

If this had been Alyssa Milano or Chelsea Handler or any of the harpies on The View, the Left would be out in full force defending her.

Laughlin will serve as a useful reminder to other celebrities that if they don't get in the game and actively promote Leftism, they can expect no help.

Send undernoods!

There are others posters here who are of mixed race. Who here cares? I don't. It's your politics that matter-not whatever race you are. You're nothing politically like Barack Obama.

271 131 and the guy blew up and cussed out his lawyer and said it was a horrible stupid deal and he would never plead guilty and his lawyer was a dumbshit who was stealing his money. So the lawyer stayed calm and just said "ok" - and then did the absolute bare minimum possible while his buddy, the DA, tagged the guy with 15 years in the State Pen. He's still there today.

don't piss off your lawyer but then keep him on the job.

Posted by: Tom Servo at April 11, 2019 06:58 PM (Kpl3J)

Saw your post earlier today. I think that's pretty shitty of the lawyer.

Age of consent must be enforced. Two years probation is reasonable. He must be a very good boy for two years. I will go along with it.

He showed himself to be a guy who would go around ruining young women's lives. Put him AWAY! Hooray!
